Toronto Raptors Willing To Trade RJ Barrett, Immanuel Quickley, Jakob Poeltl

yo what’s going on guys and today of course I wanted to talk about this report regarding the Toronto Raptors being open to moving either Emanuel Quickley or RJ Barrett i don’t know if you guys know this i actually grew up like 10 15 minutes away from Emanuel Quickley in Balmo County but like he lived in Harford County but I lived up northeast like literally on the border next to Fston and he went to John Carroll i went to Delaney like probably 20 minutes away from each other maybe 30 if you take 95 but either way what is this report about and why a lot of people presumed or assumed but that RJ Barrett would be the odd man out who would be traded due to the fact that they brought in a Brandon Ingram they’re paying Scotty Barnes they’re going to extend Yaka Purle may or may not trade him and Emanuel quickly was making $32 million so you would think that R.J be the odd guy out but right now from what it seems like the odd man out may actually be Emanuel Quickley which I as much as I love Emanuel Quickley I always thought 32 million and I’m doing this off the head i think it’s something around that line of average annual value as that’s the going rate for a starting point guard and I understand that Toronto has to pay a luxury to get players because it’s not a destination plus the taxes don’t help making this a situation where if I don’t know if you guys know this but there is quite a difference in the taxes i don’t know if you guys know that like the taxes are quite different between the US and Canada canada just has a lot more like benefits in terms of like from healthcare and other things that is the reason why they impose higher taxes especially they do tax the rich unlike America does now that’s a totally different conversation now where are we going with this so Jake Fischer the people’s insider writing for Stein line of Markstein substack the Toronto Raptors are officially keeping their options open and that includes the possibility of moving one of their core pieces according to Fiser league sources say Toronto is open to trading either RJ Barrett or Emanuel Quickley as part of a major roster upgrade this off season barrett and Quickly were the headline returns in an OG Anobi trade with the New York Knicks Knicks with the former locked into a 4-year $107 million extension through 2027 that being RJ Barrett and the latter Emanuel Quickley having inked a 5-year $175 million deal with the Raptors last summer toronto has invested heavily in both but the front office clearly views them as movable pieces if the right becomes available we do know they are the dark horses in a Kevin Durant trade now Emanuel quickly $32 million or whatever it is 5 years 175 million i know it’s like staggered in a certain way representative of the cap however I think the interesting thing is is I love Emanuel Quickley and I think he’s a solid starting point guard i think he’s an elite arguably one of the best sixmans in the league so if you look at this if you’re the Toronto Raptors what would your deal be for a Kevin Durant trade with the Suns now it’s $54 million to me obviously some people are saying would it just be a straight up RJ Barrett Emanuel Quickley deal maybe i think they definitely have an interest in Quickley the Suns because they need a point guard however I wonder if it’d rather be Yaka Purle with packaged with either Quickly or Barrett i personally rather do a deal where it’s Barrett and Purle for Durant than Purle and Quickly because then you have to figure out a point guard but I still think that’s workable now notably the Raptors kept both RJ Barrett and Emanuel Quickley out of serious trade talks at the trade deadline when they acquired Brandon Ingram suggesting the price tag remain steep for either of them both the team and the players seem you know committed to one another but the tone has shifted this summer with Toronto entering a new phase of its retool flexibility is back on the table it seems for Messiah that flexibility extends beyond the back court fischer reports that YaKob Purle has also been discussed in trade packages most prominently in exploratory talks with the Phoenix Suns who have long been looking for a legitimate starting center the Suns meanwhile have dangled the number the number 29 overall pick and remain active in discussions involving Kevin Durant moving him before the draft is seen as a priority though a deal there would require both moving parts in the draft toronto owns the number nine pick and they may be the team that most willing willingly I kind of said that weird most willingly are able to move out of the top 10 and if they stay Come on we’ll watch is the presumed draft pick toronto are more likely to trade down than to exit the first round entirely looking to add veteran help while still acquiring young assets later in the draft toronto isn’t blowing it up but the front office is clearly drawing a line in the sand whether it’s Barrett Quickley or Purle the message is clear no one’s untouchable in this hunt for a star except for probably Scotty Barnes if they can find a trade that changes the franchise’s long-term trajectory with capital flexibility long long-term players in Scotty Barnes obviously and maybe even Brandon Ingram lottery capital and desirable players veterans whatever you want to call them the Raptors could be the darkhorse team to make a big swing this off season so to me I think when you look at them it becomes rather weird interesting i I really don’t know what do you guys think so with that being said Toronto is a team to watch if someone big becomes available right now it seems like Jiannis de Kmpo is staying in Milwaukee so the biggest fish the fry is Kevin Durant now I think he’s worth either Quickly or Barrett package with Purle and maybe one or two picks but outside of that no it would ruin the whole objective i also want to know when will you want to just trade Brandon Ingram cuz isn’t Brandon Ingram Kevin Durant similar players except Kevin Durant still a better version i don’t know either way sorry for choking on words that’s a result of the ADHD medication I take Cole Adder no usually only happens like now granted I also smoked weed recently so that probably is contributing to that dry mouth but it really only happens if that or I just am I guess peak granted like I’ve been taking the medication for 14 years now and I want to say I found out you you know pharmaceuticals and obviously I take like the gener generic version of it so with that being said it’s not like I’m I’m taking I I don’t even know how you would say the brand name version or if there is a brand brand name version of it either way I take the generic version of it cuz it’s the same thing and they’re cheaper but yeah what I found out recently was different gen you know generic medications will basically of the same medication if this makes sense if you’ve ever noticed especially with tablets but it even happens with capsules that you’ll go to one pharmacy and then maybe move or just change your pharmacy for whatever reason it may be and you’ll have the same prescription same doctor and everything but the medication is now different but it still like has the same effects however you might notice that like small little things and this is what I’ve come to like learn and have been told by obviously health professionals that some might act different like there’s been you know aderal medication that I’ve taken that like usually my hunger is suppressed and that’s why I take you know medication what did By the way I recorded this whole video in the car and someone just right now is just driving down the wrong side of the road that was insane either way this whole thing with medication as I wrap up my whole spiel is some you know will suppress my hunger others won’t as much some might make my mouth drier than others some don’t as like I’ve been prescribed in Maryland when I was like in middle school and like high school and then they had me try all different variations however and then Kansas is like when I they got me on the the instant release that I’m on now that way I can like control and like not take it every day or have to be wired all the time either way and then that’s kind of like as a result sometimes if my mouth is too dry it literally almost like I’m becoming a camel and I sound like that i don’t even know but that’s basically the whole point I was getting at was apologizing for you know choking on words or misspeaking at times as a result of my mouth becoming incredibly dry and not having a piece of gum a mint or water in this car I’m done if you made it to the end of the video right here and you heard my whole spiel hit that like subscribe that’s it sorry if you don’t care and if you don’t like me anymore bye

The Toronto Raptors are reportedly open to trading either RJ Barrett or Immanuel Quickley in a blockbuster move, according to Jake Fischer of The Stein Line. After acquiring both guards in the OG Anunoby trade, the Raptors now appear willing to pivot in search of a major roster upgrade. The team is also exploring trade packages involving Jakob Poeltl and could move the No. 9 overall pick in the draft. Could Toronto be preparing for a splashy trade involving Kevin Durant or another high-profile star? We break down what this means for the Raptors’ future and which teams to watch.

  1. Honestly, Grady to me is really the only player I would want. I think if they want to trade any of those players, he must be included.

  2. I love how this became a drug discussion. 😂😂

Honestly tho, I took different variations of ADHD medications nearly every day for 12 straight years, the last and current being generic aderall. I came to the realization I felt best taking it once every 3 days.

I had to get off of it for 2 straight months to even allow for that to be affective, and the withdrawals were insane but it was worth it.

I can’t speak for you personally but taking it too often was just over stimulating at times, and had more side effects than desired.

  3. @cyro asseo if KD wont extend in toronto, then i dont see the raptors giving up players or picks for KD as an expiring as the raptors are best case 1st round bounce even with KD. the team is not great and the bench is young and not good. defence and spacing is bad as well.

if you saw toronto was not on KD's list, if they force a trade, the reality is KD walks for nothing in free agency so that really is a nothing move just giving player and picks to suns. And why would KD want to come to toronto in the first place since they are not contenders, and KD wouldnt want to finish his career on a mid team basically as its ceiling. KD will want to be on a legit contender playing meaningful basketball in what likely is his last contract.

you have to realize this is not the same as a Kawhi situation where they traded for Kawhi on an already contending team that had been top 1-3 in the conference last 4-5 years. the current raptors team is nowhere near that calibre of team. and the raptors team doesnt even have a good bench.

KD isnt a spring chicken either.

  4. @cyro asseo i can see RJ or IQ moved along with ochai for luxury tax reasons. they have to move two of them. the ingram move was basically to get raptors into playin/1st round playoff bounce. to show the raptors improved to get masai his next contract.

this year will be to see if scottie barnes takes that next leap as a 23-30ppg player. if not i dont even see ingram being extended as its a waste in reality to try to build a team without a legit number 1 scoring option because you wont win a championship without one. i can see ingram traded as he likely wont extend with raptors if scottie barnes going into his 5th year doesnt take that next step. then it will be clear after masai gets his next contract that the raptors have to go back into a rebuild to find that true number 1 scoring option. it could mean scottie barnes even traded for max value as raptors go into a full rebuild if scottie barnes doesnt take that next step in his 5th year. because if he cant do it in his 5th year, who are you really kidding thinking he will do it ever.

if scottie barnes doesnt take that next step in his 5th year, then basically his comp of draymon green was actually accurate. he may have a little better offence and worse defence than draymon but essentially the comp was correct. and you cant win a championship with draymon green as your number 1 scoring option.

  5. @cyro asseo also i dont see the raptors trading that 9th pick unless the players they like are off the board. i can see them trade down say hawks 13 and 22 for 9, or thunder 15 and 24 and a young player like topic for 9. but i dont see the raptors not using this draft to fill out the holes on their team. they have alot, especially on the defensive side and needing a back up center to replace jakob poeltl in a year or two . the horrible spacing is not conducive to winning basketball, so they will need a spacing big man, and some defensive 3 pt shooting wings. the raptors are small as well so they need size.

they really have to solve the spacing issues with a 3 pt shooting center as jakob poeltl is not a long term fit. an example of this is you see raptors players going from horrible spacing to teams with good spacing and they look like different players. siakam for one on pacers. even yuta watanabe looked like ray allen on the nets with their great spacing.

so if the raptors really want to build a contender, they gotta draft and fix the roster construction flaws and spacing on this current raptors team. they got too many holes so not even a KD or Giannis will make the raptors anything more than a 1st round bounce best case.

  6. @cyro asseo in terms of RJ and IQ and Ochai trade rumors. its basically because rogers wont pay the luxury tax unless the raptors have been to the conference finals at least to show they are a legit contender. even if they traded for KD or Giannis, rogers wont pay the tax until they have reached the conference finals.

so you have an expensive team right now that is a play in team or 1st round bounce best case. RJ is due for a big raise this summer or in a year. Ochai is due for a big raise the raptors cant afford. And jakob poeltl is due for a raise likely in the 30-35 million a year range this summer. This means luxury tax, so two players have to go. so its RJ and Ochai traded or IQ and ochai traded.

i dont think it has to be an upgrade even, likely pick heavy with players on 1-2 year deals.

the headlines may say trade for upgrade, but realistically toronto is not a market that superstars or free agents want to come to. and raptors are no where near contenders, so superstars will not want to come to toronto.

end of the day with no likely upgrades, rogers still wont pay the tax, so two of them have to be moved even for picks.

thats just the toronto market. players they draft or canadians only want to play in toronto long term.

  7. @cyro asseo i basically see these KD and Giannis rumors by teams, just to drive up the price to teams that those superstars want to go to that doesnt include toronto. You see this all the time, with Dame and even KD before.

the only players that get traded to toronto are players that have lost favor with their current organizations and are considered damaged goods. Toronto not being a player destination naturally will take the gamble on a player if the price isnt expensive. Its what ya saw with Kawhi and Ingram. You dont see masai pay a kings ransom for players. i am referring to all star calibre or super star calibre trades.

Is toronto interested in KD, yes thats like asking if teams are interested in Wemby. Everyone is. But will KD extend in toronto and want to finish his career on a non contender? likely not. Its why toronto wont trade for KD if he doesnt agree to extend in toronto, which he wont. Things that motivate KD is money, and winning championships. the winning championships with current raptors team isnt a reality. they are no where close. anyone saying other wise is just has their lens viewed through homerism. Ingram may be a number 2 but no one on the raptors is close to a number 2 option even. not even scottie barnes. the bench is young and bad, the spacing is horrid, and the defence is bad as well. ya they played better defensively when they played lottery teams in the 2nd half, but when it counted, the defence was bad. the offence is stagnant also cuz no one can create their own shot outside of ingram now.

All the trades masai has done, you didnt know they were happening until they were done, like with Kawhi, jakob poeltl, and Ingram. so all this noise about raptors trading for a player out in the open tells you a trade isnt gonna happen. Its not how the raptors operate.

The trade masai does, no one hears about until its done and then its announced.
