Miami Heat Offer For Kevin Durant Reportedly Not Enough | Suns Want To Trade Him To Minnesota

welcome on in guys tobin here with you and thanks for checking out the channel hope you’re doing well out there uh as the durant world turns i saw a lot of stuff was happening last night i was out celebrating mrs towin’s birthday uh so no reaction video to all this stuff last night i figured i’d just save it for the morning um just in case anything else changed if there was any other pivot trade may happen today who knows but uh as i you know put up in yesterday’s video it seemed and appeared like the news of sham’s putting out there that uh durant didn’t want to go to minnesota and that was kind of the big pivot point of yesterday up until we got to you know probably like probably like right after i posted so it wasn’t the best timing in the world admittedly but um got a little bit more explanation on it that it does seem like phoenix according to multiple reports uh the athletic did a pretty big deep dive yesterday uh local reports out of arizona yesterday from john gamadoro uh basically saying it appears that the suns feels like and this is not a surprise based on kevin durant trying to shoot this down publicly because he doesn’t want to go there it appears very much like the minnesota timberwolves have the offer they like the best and that all the other teams are not up to snuff right now there are a couple things that were reported last night by sam amik that were um oh let me give other credit it was sam amik and uh john krjinski of of the athletic that also you know shed some light on where things are right now none of it really great for the miami heat i guess i could narrow it down there it doesn’t appear like the miami heat are in this like great catbird seat of getting it that was you know the word out of phoenix yesterday it was the word last night in the national report that it seems very much like the spurs the rockets the heat all of their offers are not great in fact they basically describe this all as as they are trying to drum up better offers from it uh from those teams um this is what it says it says to the point in the league league sources say the spurs rockets and need have not come forward with offers for durant compelling enough to get the suns to bite which means they will continue to look at a market that suits them as one rival executive puts it quote “fenix is trying to drum up better offers the rockets and suns have had meaningful discussions the houston has a firm offer on the table for phoenix but to this point they have seriously been uh phoenix has been seriously underwhelmed by it the spurs league sources say have been conservative in their pursuit of durant as for the heat they would surely love to pair durant with bam adobayio and tyler herro it remains to be seen if they have some sort of package or overall incentive to put it a deal with miami would likely include duncan robinson andrew wiggins uh but it’s a fair question whether those type of players make a difference in phoenix so and uh and the report locally yesterday out of uh out of phoenix from from gambo was there was a lot of yeah their their offer is unlikely to get it done there was some disparaging on the show of their impressiveness with andrew wiggins the the one that was surprising a little bit there was a little bit of hosing down of kel wear calling him a soft player um which i got to be honest with you with phoenix going after minnesota’s offer and you want rudy gobear and julius randall randall had a nice playoffs rudy gobear yes the wolves have been successful with him he’s got a very decorated resume he’s also known as one of the biggest playoff underperformers in the last five years um so i i i don’t know i i don’t know what they’re doing with that one like to me it’s like you almost become like this older version of the utah jazz going to get rudy gobear rather than a uh an interesting 21year-old center who you know has his whole career in front of him and the label that you know he’s a soft player i know that the label on kell coming into the league was motor doesn’t work hard and i do think there are still things with kell that he does have to get physically stronger he did not impress in the playoffs but he also had a lot of impressive playoff performances again his age reflecting i don’t know look obviously i’m biased i feel like if i was getting rid of kevin durant i would want an interesting prospect like that over than the known of rudy gobear which you kind of know what you’re getting with rudy gobear but you know also i don’t even know if the heat are offering kelwar you know i don’t even know if he’s he’s even in the mix and so i guess we’re at a point right now where look nothing got decided yesterday but i do think for heat fans after shams put you on the list and we made the list it does feel like we’re heading towards some ugly standoff here whatever it is i think the heat are kind of just like that’s our offer you’re 37 you want 120 more million from us all-time legendary player that’s the the offer is what it is and take it take you know and and i will say this stuff all getting drumed up publicly is probably more proof that the offers do stink as far as the minnesota thing if those are the firm veterans that they want you heard yesterday uh i think it was sha i don’t know if it was shamz or windhorst they were doing it together but one of them suggested that they’re hoping like anthony edwards can reach out to kevin durant and try and like get him to warm up to the idea of of playing in minnesota so that appears to be where they’re at like they they they do like the minnesota offer they’re going to do what’s best for them but obviously they know that no team is going to be tra keen on trading a cranky kevin durant which hasn’t gone well in the last couple of places airgo why he’s been at two different locations or three different locations since uh winning championships with the warriors so but you you know you you i i guess you can’t take anything of what happened yesterday and say like “oh it felt good.” now do the heat crank up the pressure again if the heat are trying to get this done with wiggins duncan robinson and picks and take it or leave it you know as i said like that’s probably not gonna get it done um i i’ve thought long that like the secret sauce was getting kell if they if they aren’t impressed by kell wear like uh like like the you know the impressions would have you then i don’t know what the heat do about that because he’s very clearly their best asset and you kind of just got to tip your cap take the l and and move on like i i don’t think the heat should be dragged down in this and then i guess you see what the summer brings you and you know you hope nico has a badass euro basket and is ready to rock coming into the season and you figure things out from there there was some other rumblings that i’m i’m going to get to in uh in another segment later on today on this stuff um the other thing too that was pointed out was that the the number one team and this is that was pointed out it was also reported that he says amidst the recent rounds with phoenix timberwolves they were made away where he prefers to play elsewhere specifically league sources say are the spurs so as much as there is a list there’s one place where he’d really like to play and that’s with san antonio which is reflective of what’s been there the last couple of uh what’s been there the last week and a half or so but you know we know that miami is apparently one of those places where they’ve had talks they are interested obviously you heard yesterday about new york and like the idea that new york would have been there but they don’t really want him so he said basically “all right to hell with you.” so he knows that miami i guess on some level is very interested and and i guess he’s warmed up he’s he’s up to that idea but you know it’s it’s an it’s an interesting place because in negotiations you have your offer you know that you have an awesome player but you know that the age is a factor you have to wonder what he does to bring you over the hump and then you also have to be like “all right well what what else do we throw on the scale to tip it in our favor and get it done?” like you’re not going to go three first round picks you’re not going to go something like that so i don’t know but we have seen like look it is from the heat standpoint pretty reflective on like where they’ve been when all these things go down with the dame thing the spider thing the you know um even the the original jimmy butler timberwolves negotiation so i don’t think it’s a it’s a great sign of where it is i will say like after the list came out yes there was definitely a little pep in everybody’s step with uh with that but i do think that the heat from the time that all this kd stuff has happened has felt like they have been on the outside looking in right like it does feel like it’s been all right he wants to go to texas if texas doesn’t have him because it doesn’t seem like the rockets who have a firm offer they’re not impressed with or the spurs who haven’t been that aggressive the heat have kind of felt like “all right well i guess i’ll tolerate living in miami.” um and i think miami is probably negotiating like that they’re like “hey we know that we’re not his top top choice either we’re a good choice.” so i think there’s a a part of the heath that’s probably also like we’re not we’re not going to throw everybody into the mix because we don’t even know if we like our hand anyway and that as far as the minnesota thing’s concerned like look if the deal if everything was perfect with it and they even reported in here like they’re hoping he warms up to the idea of minnesota so as much as they want to be hard asses and be like “we’re going to do the best deal for us like if if the deal was perfect with minnesota already and they already had that hard ass stance he’d be a timberwolf.” and maybe as soon as i post this at 9:00 a.m he’ll be a timberwolf but uh clearly there’s still some kind of obstacle there so it’s not dead you know this was even pointed out yesterday uh by gamodora like hey offers change but it doesn’t appear like uh maybe things were as grand as they were a day ago and you know this thing is getting to the point where it’s like all right you know are they going to get it done this week how much do the heat want to be in these negotiations the whole time all interesting questions and you also got to start thinking like all right in these negotiations to try and jump up the offer what’s the max that you would do as a fan that you would tolerate there’s already people who like i’m not giving up kellwear for a guy who’s 37 i’m not you know people aren’t even that keen on giving up nico at that age so it’s like are you going to give up both if that’s what it takes to get it done it seems like a steep cost for for guys who one started one was your six-man last year and you know if they’re already being like if they also are in a spot where they value veterans over two 22 year olds then what are you supposed to do about that if they don’t like andrew like if they say “oh we don’t like andrew wiggins.” like well i can’t really hate on that i i mean i wasn’t the biggest andrew wiggins fan why i don’t think he’s a soft player but you definitely like we know what the knock on andrew wiggins is the knock is like will look like the greatest basketball player on the planet then kind of fade away can be a good two-way force but you know had his injuries last year didn’t really look like that with miami um would i hate the idea of of andrew wiggins on the heat next year no i think he’ll probably have a clearer mind and be in a better place it the thing with andrew wiggins is like yeah nobody hates having andrew wiggins but is andrew wiggins a piece of it’s it’s the same feeling we had with the jimmy deal it’s like oh all right we got andrew wiggins that’s not a bad player no one’s going to say that but is he like “oh that’s a great get.” i don’t know if anybody in a trade negotiation feels that way and i know there are heat fans who are like “oh i want the durant thing to happen and keep andrew wiggins.” well it doesn’t seem like that goes it seems like he’s a very big part of the the offered package the salary relief they’re going to get with duncan robinson um got to wonder what duncan’s feeling through all this too because duncan robinson’s like he’s like am i 20 days away from not being on the heat anyway and just getting you know my getting my contract waved he’s got to feel a little bit like that too um and you got to wonder you know when do the heat because they do have a little bit of a deadline with that do they if you know do they want to get going on moving that carrot as well so that’s uh where things stand at 7:45 this morning on a on a tuesday sure 900 other things will happen to uh to add to it but um as of right now yeah it doesn’t seem like the sun look i don’t know what the suns thought they were going to get for kevin durant i think uh should they give him up for nothing no i think they should get something good for him is rudy gobear and julius randall the stuff that you would want with where that franchise is at and you’re giving him over to anthony edwards and and you think that that’s going to give you i i guess good luck dude i don’t know what to tell you but um i think also you know you know that’s a a super rich competitive owner who wants to still hold on to the idea of winning and so he likes that idea better than prospects and especially if the draft capital coming back from any of the offers isn’t that great so that’s where it appears it stands and uh you know they’re going to try and convince kevin durant to go get a parka and freeze your ass off in
