LSU vs UCLA College World Series Preview | CWS Showdown Breakdown & Predictions

hey man what’s going on here man got another little uh tippbit for you LSU CLA will face off Monday night Winners in the winners bracket and whoever wins this game will kind of be in the driver’s seat and they won’t play again until Wednesday Loser has to play again on Tuesday and then they got to play again on Wednesday And if they win that game they got to win Thursday So it’s it’s important to win this next game If you lose this next game you you’re going to have to win Then you’re going to have to win uh three games in a row to get to the championships Very beneficial for both teams They win tomorrow night So UCLA they’re fresh off a 6-4 win off over Murray State Saturday afternoon in Omaha They went six nothing at one point but Murray State uh Murray State’s been a really really good team uh from tournament time They uh they came back and made it a 6-4 game in the eighth but they weren’t able to get any closer as UCLA held held off by the Murray State squad Michael Barnett went four and two/3 in four and two/3 innings for a start for UCLA Four walks four strikeouts and uh but uh scoring for uh the Bruins in that game Martin walked and scored a run You had West that single to right field Zowski grounded out for grounded out for an RBI Then Martin singled Delgado uh doubled down the right field line They got six nothing They were able to hold on for a 64 victory So let’s look at some look over some of their stats Key stats as uh their lead their leading their leading uh guy average-wise is uh Cho Chowski name batting 362 on the season Martin batting 320 but Lavu batting 319 West batting 318 Espinosa 316 You got uh S uh Salgado batting 313 and then Brennan batting 305 So they got a lot of a lot of guys that’s hitting above 300 on this UCLA is a very solid solid club that’s uh gets a lot of uh they they have a lot of guys hitting above 300 A very tough matchup for LSU Is going to have to be on point because he was a little off point against Virginia just like K Anderson was on point against West Virginia but uh Anderson pitched great against Arkansas Hopefully can uh do well for LSU uh as uh their leading home run getter is uh waiting for the stats come up Lowski I mean he has 23 homers Leoo has 12 So so Gano has 12 Martin has nine So uh they only three guys that are above double digits on run balls They got one guy with 23 just like Jared Jones Jared Jones in the 20 but Jared Jones was 0 for five against Arkansas He’s going to have to play much better for LSU He can’t go 0 for five again 5ks He needs to he needs to find some kind of some kind of way to just get on base I mean whether whether it’s a walk get got hit get hit by a pitch or something maybe shake him out of this because Jared Jones is too good of a player to go 0 for five with five strikeouts I think sometimes he presses too much But uh look LSU had a LSU had a really good uh game against Arkansas pitching wise Hitting wise I think they got six they only got six hits but we able only we were able to get three runs in that second inning all we needed But I think we’re going to have I think I think we’re going to have to hit the ball a little bit better Monday against uh UCLA to get out the vic get out the to get out with the victory I don’t think we’re going to be able to I don’t think four runs is going to be enough Could be wrong Probably I’m wrong I don’t know if four I don’t know if four runs is going to be enough I think this is I think UCLA is going to put I think uh unlike Arkansas I think they’re going to put some runs on the board just the way they hit the baseball with had a bunch of guys batting over 300 I think they can put the ball in play and uh and maybe uh put some hits hits together and some runs together So I think this is going to be I think this game is going to be a little more high scoring than the game that LSU and Arkansas I think uh like 54 65 something something to that effect I think that’s what the final tally is going to hopefully Tigers can come come on top uh of course I’ll be a homer and I’ll say yeah I think they will I like Ison but uh uh you know Chase Shores pitched well against Arkansas but look LSU’s bullpen has been been very very uh erratic at times this season so if if it gets to if it gets down to the bullpen you know Eisen gets chased like in a fourth inning something like that it could be uh could be it could be very shaky for LSU about how our how our pitching is But hopefully uh hopefully our bullpen can come out come uh come out to play again We’re going to need like William Schmidt Rizzy Jason Evans Uh who else they going to put out there i mean Cooper Williams lefties been pitching well for LSU but uh I don’t know if I don’t know if they’re going to go with Primu I don’t know if he’s going to pitch I’m not I just don’t I don’t really don’t know what Jay’s uh what his game plan going to be Uh if it comes down to the fact well we had to put use a lot of pitchers in the ball game But uh look hopefully Einstein can go seven or seven innings just like uh Katie Anderson did then we can pitch uh in the eighth and ninth inning Can pitch uh you know maybe maybe Shores can go again I know we had an off day in between come some something sometime that helps relievers but I don’t think I don’t think I don’t think we’re going to see Kase and Evans in this uh in this game I could be wrong I just think that they I think uh I think that uh D Johnson’s going to want to save him until the next game If we win uh Monday then we’ll we’ll have a another day of rest and play him I’ll start him on on Wednesday I think that’s what his game plan I think that’s what Jay Johnson’s game plan is It’s a whole case off till Wednesday Um it needs to if it comes down to
