exciting edition of NBA basketball this is Kevin Harland alongside Clark Kellogg and Greg Anthony da will join us tonight on the sideline a moment now to look at the yeartoyear scoring output and how it has been trending for Cole Anthony and looking at his offensive numbers from the past few years it seems like teams around the league have kind of figured him out uh he’s having to work a lot harder for his points and they haven’t been coming nearly as easily as they used to and the starting group for the Grizzlies they’ve got Kantavius Caldwell Pope Wells is out there with Santi Aldama then there’s Jiren Jackson and it’s Morance in at the point guard and for Orlando Roger and Banero are the forwards jaylen Suggs is out there with Desmond Bane and it’s Carter in at the five down low and we may have a track meet Clark here tonight we were just talking about this these two teams that love to get out and run you know Kevin I love these kind of games because really I think basketball is meant to be played at a fast pace i really do i mean the fans enjoy but the players do too and obviously us broadcasters like to see it up and down as well mor using that quickness to his advantage that time he gets that one pass to Van Carol carter with his three and count it the shot is good but he’ll go to the free throw line guys that’s just really unstoppable he poses a ton of matchup problems for whomever he’s facing from rookie of the year in 2023 to an All-Star Greg in 2024 Paulo Banker and Kevin that really says it all doesn’t it few players hit the ground running like Ban Carol has becoming an elite competitor people fear almost instantly clark I know you’d agree paulo Vanero has certainly lived out to the height being a number one overall pick yeah you know I loved him when he was in college loved his size his athleticism his IQ his tenacity i mean I don’t think there’s anything on the floor that he can’t do and you know what you allow a guy to get right to the rim like that that’s the only option yeah exactly i mean free throws are always better than a layup so I’d agree with you there memphis shooting their first free throws tonight the first trip to the stripe in this one shooting two [Applause] the first one falls [Applause] and Wells drops them both and here’s Vanero we saw him with 19 points his last outing out of bounds magic ball as Orlando keeps possession and we have to take another glance at that powerful rejection and right out of the gate trying to set the tone defensively you got to love that energy here’s Suggs outside bane off target with his three here in the first a little over a minute played so far bells wide open nailed from three-point land wells has got five points so far yeah first and foremost he’s a pass first team player is Calwell Pope love seeing that suggs passes to Bane Van Carol with the ball [Applause] here’s Carter it’s rebounded by Memphis they come into this one following a loss to the Thunder yeah nowhere near at their best uh throughout the course of that game a scrappy performance but in the end just not enough yeah a lot of character on display a lot of guts you’re right even as shaky as they were I would guess they felt they let one get away from him aldama passes to Caldwell Pope and here is Wells and again it’s the Grizzlies from deep and Cwell Pope has improved as a passer nice to see that development in his game carter sets the pick for Van Carol fires the three no good that time you know he just has not been himself this period just too inconsistent up and down at the offensive end here’s Aldo they get a hand on it it’s stolen by Van Carol [Applause] and the rejection by Jackson to the paint here’s Elama and the Grizzlies tag on two more and it just seems that every pass they make is leading to a score just great ball movement with a short break in the action gives us a chance now to send it over to David Aldridge i briefly spoke with Jamal Mosley now we talked about the big man Jiren Jackson Jr and specifically how to defend him coach said he’s a guy that can score from all three levels our guys have to be on him and active defensively as soon as he touches the ball coach needs his team to bring the energy tonight to see if they can respond guys thank you David a moment here to look at some numbers for Paulo averaging about 23 points per six rebounds and four assists and you talk about guys who just have a nose for putting up points he is one of them yeah he sure is and he rarely has backto-back bad games if he has an off night he usually follows that up with a big night [Applause] bane finds Carter knocked away jackson with it and it’s Carter picking him up it’s Jackson with the drive drops in the layup for two impressive start here that’s five straight makes to start the game [Applause] bane against Caldwell Pope bane passes to Vagner ban Carol has screened for Vagner no good again that time and the Grizzlies leading by nine morishes to Jackson and that one good i I like their focus coming in terrific execution so far and you know it’s an allout effort they’ve come in with very aggressive offense so far now here’s Vagner he’s coming off a 25-point game against Boston and there really was a physical aspect of his performance that was off the charts he was taking it right at him and he just kept getting those calls and getting to the beyond the arc is a spot on the floor carter Jr has worked hard to improve since entering the league pass to Jackson back to Mor just five on the clock here’s Elama that’s a miss he’s made one and missed one for Magic trail by eight [Applause] here’s Suggs hasn’t made one yet dan Carroll that’s good and this is the type of go to score this team wants bon Carroll to be they love his confidence here’s Mor and it’s sent back by Carter dan Carroll with the ball guarded now by Jackson van Carols to Vodner over Wells the rebound by Caldwell Pope yeah but the hand in the face it’s critical that you contest his shots every time down the court and Wells is right there wells has got 10 points in the game oh a nice tip in to salvage the points from that miss shot yeah and those second chance points can add up and if you’re a defensive team it just kills you to give up baskets like that and Jamal Mosley has called timeout he wants to check in with his team and regroup these are the teams that have been really dominant in the paint so far this season second the Grizzlies and you know it’s not necessarily a glamour stat but but make no mistake their top-notch board work has been a huge key to their success the Magic Trail by seven suggs passes the Cardinal out of bounds as Orlando keeps possession let’s check out the standings in the Western Conference and see how the playoff race is shaping up you look at Memphis right now at the playoff start they would have the seventh seed when I look at Memphis they’ve shown me some very good things this season but that next step those qualities that could make them true contenders just haven’t been there yeah and you know we’ve seen them enough to know by now they’re not going to make that switch from good to great at this point not this year anyway how about the effort by Carter always lurking there on the offensive glass [Applause] here’s Elama he’s covered by Bang Carroll and he floats in for the easy two credit the assist on that one pretty much all of their buckets coming from inside the paint now outside pass to Van Carol here’s the three got a hand on it and he stays with it now here’s Vagner he’s guarded closely takes the three and it’s Suggs missing and the Grizzlies leading by seven wells passes to Eldo caldwell Pope kicks to Mores carter pulls it in you know he’s not a knockown shooter from there but when you’re that uncovered you almost are forced to take him [Applause] pass to Vagner to the inside and Carol now Suggs off target from outside suggs against Morant now here’s Caldwell Pope to the middle here’s Jackson and Jackson throws it down hard what agility there look how quick Jackson moves after setting the screen perfect execution some tough offensive sets they want to turn it around yeah right now you just need a bucket to get some momentum and Carol a screen for Vagner aldama with the rebound aldama’s got four rebounds in this game throughout his career Clark Contavius Caldwell Pope has proven himself to be a quality player he certainly has and I love the way he plays he’s locked in all the time at both ends really not only understands his role Kevin but embraces it he’s out there to space the floor with his shooting and then provide a lot of energy and versatility on defense and the Grizzlies call their first time out of the game you know Clark I’ve been wondering your thoughts on the possibility of the NBA shortening the season in an attempt to mitigate injury look Kevin I’ve long been a proponent of a shorter season i think 65 66 games one month less on the regular season would be great we know load management did decrease injury rates so I’m not sure a shortened schedule would either but I do know it would improve the quality of play for the players and I think that would be beneficial to the fans more of the match jonathan Isaac he’s checked in for Carter harris comes in for France Vagner and Cory Joseph subbed in for Jaylen Subs then for the Grizzlies Ed’s checked in for Santi Aldamo vince Williams comes in for Wells and Anthony subbed in for Caldwell Pope [Applause] and here are the Grizzlies now seven-point differential some nice passing there by Memphis anony’s shot is off and and typically he has the touch to finish when he’s in tight but not sure on that possession dang Carroll finds Joseph and a quick look at some of the numbers for John Mor and he hasn’t been making as much of an impact with his defense as he had been earlier in the season steel numbers have dropped off in the past five games he’ll need to put a lot more effort into his defense here tonight [Applause] [Applause] and the first one drops joseph is a guy who’s a proven champion and does whatever’s asked of him and that makes him a solid leader on this team [Applause] [Applause] that’s also good so he hits both free throws yeah you can just see it in Cory Joseph he loves to hoop i mean he’s a talented offensive player who also gets after it on defense and the dunk by Jackson and how about the hands on Jackson makes a good target on that frame and then able to finish off the alley now here’s Joseph [Applause] here he goes over in the corner isaac here’s Ben Carroll the Magic again can’t hit and here’s Moran he’ll bring it up for Memphis they lead by seven their last encounter was in Orlando where they were able to handle the Magic yeah it was a narrow win but at that last meeting I think foul trouble for the other side they had really just tipped the scale and allowed them to escape with the W you know whether it was their smart play or a few whistles that perhaps could have gone either way when the games are tight every decision becomes more magnified all right well look at how the hustle game has been going for the Grizzlies how about the ferocity we have seen from them on defense i mean they’re looking to contest every shot that goes up but how about their scoring in transition as well that’s been a big factor to this point are those high tops or track shoes these guys are wearing my goodness and Clark Cole Anthony is some kind of score when he gets hot yeah he’s really special when he gets it going he can beat you by himself that’s how good he is he’s a little mercurial up and down to a bit but I tell you what I like what he gives you when he’s playing at his best here’s Jackson following the bucket by magic superstar says it’s not anything in life it’s a process having that perspective just makes you want to work every day because this is the best league in the world if you become impatient you’re going to drive yourself crazy it’s a cliche Kevin just keep pounding away back to you well said David dedication to the cramp ba Banks and defensively guys David unable to shut down the middle yeah pass to Black and that one clearly a foul gets the whistle and two shots coming up it’s on Cole Anthony third team orlando shooting their fourth and fifth attempts at the free throw line tonight and taking a look at the numbers on the season they’ve converted about 77% of those foul shots and guys that allows their opponents to play very aggressive defense if they choose to knowing it’s not a bad thing to send them to the foul line and he knocks down the first one [Applause] he makes one of two that time looking at the last game for Orlando it was a loss to the Celtics and it’s sent back by Isaac what a wingspan Isaac has i mean this guy is incredible at denying shots and he loves to do it 137 left here in the opening quarter black the pass to Vagner here’s Joseph [Applause] driving to the basket kicks it out to Vagner sinks the three-pointer yeah Joseph was definitely finding his open teammates and that’s exactly what you want from your point guard memphis leading by five clark is screen on Joseph inside and it’s Clark with the jam and that is textbook perfect bounce pass exactly how you want to throw it [Applause] joseph looking around here’s Black he’s averaging just around eight and a half points a game six on the shot clock that one doesn’t go some solid defense from Clark to the inside isaac with the steal we’ve got a 9second difference between the shot clock and the game clock outside joseph drives to the hoop that one’s in his first bucket of the game he’s one for two cory Joseph does a nice job with his speed and change of pace to get by the defense clark outside back to Pippen and he makes good on the layup and the Grizzlies lead by seven the offense coming free and easy as we wrap up the first quarter it’s the Grizzlies up by seven stay with us as we get set to bring you the second quarter right after this [Music] and hope you’ve enjoyed the broadcast so far halfway through the first half in this one what stands out to you from the Grizzlies in this one well in that first quarter they were intent on just pounding the ball down low yeah and it’s worked they’ve got a clear edge and points in the paint now we’ll see if they go with a more balanced attack or just keep on pounding it inside so on the floor to begin things for Memphis here in the second quarter zanti Odama is out there with Edy then it’s Pippen then it’s Contavius Caldwell Pope and it’s Wells and at the small four thugs it’s deflected [Applause] now here’s Wells down low tries it from nine alama can’t hit faulner wide open and a miss there on the triple and the well is running dry for him right now nothing f and you know you can sense his frustration this is going to be a test of his resolve here now here’s Pippen he had a 30-point outing their last game against Oklahoma City and it seemed like he spent about half the game shooting free throws credit him for really taking it to the deep vagner outside isaac with the screen for Vagner sinks the triple got himself on the board with three there vagner always a threat from downtown and I love the efficiency and solid mechanics of his shooting stroke pippen no luck the Magic Trail by six it’s Black in the corner isaac outside wagner outside grizzlies with the rebound they’ve led by as many as 11 points he’s been ice cold tonight and you know you look at the scoreboard guys they really could have used his contribution back to Bippen got a piece of it a floater and with that shot the lead is cut down now to just four in the basket from Vogner really good quickness in transition that time from Vagner using those long strides to cover ground quickly that’s to Wells tipped away isaac with the steal suggs with the ball shoots over Pippen that’s good from Suggs on the assist from Bogner suggs has got his first two points of the night cwell Pope outside [Applause] we’re just over two and a half minutes into the second quarter [Applause] here’s the screen and that time also a miss shot and he didn’t punish them for the weak coverage there but they can count on him to continue missing suggs kicks to Vagner isaac outside it’s tipped stolen by Pippen [Applause] lays it in without an inch of room around him and the Grizzlies lead by four great job of screening there nice job to take it to the rim and get the finish suggs kicks to Black buries the long range jumper beautiful job closing the gap here let’s see if they can sustain this run this game was in danger of getting away from him they’ve made a nice push to keep it close now here’s Caldwell Pope no scoring in this one good on the three-point shot the reel come at us and we’re coming right back at you a little back and forth from long range i love it that’s a terrific answer there it’s blocked and they recover it suggs against Pippen suggs passes to Vagner here’s Black shot clock at six just couldn’t take the lid off they had their chances but came up empty to the paint here’s Wells and the dunk by Wells the D just kind of stepping aside and letting him get to the rim there’s a reason GA the lead is what it is right now you know you look at it the communication is lacking as is the trust they can ill afford those types of breakdowns it won’t work you can’t win with those kind of breakdowns and Greg you think about what they call float games why does that one shot earn a nickname like that i mean the it’s to hone his three-point shoot boy I tell you what Kevin it’s almost mandatory necessary for big guys nowadays to be able to knock down not only the mid-range jumper but the three-point shot give credit to Carter Jr for seeing this growing trend and then working to put it into his toolkit outstanding distribution there i mean what impressive passing ability here’s Ben Carol and he drops in the layup off the glass beno’s got 12 a promising sign of things to come with Van Carol clearly somebody you’ve got to be excited about there’s a lot to Jackson and Jackson throws it down hard oh phenomenal alley hoop slam there they are taking advantage of a team that looks lost out there boy I tell you what guys this is really getting close to being real ugly doug finds Carter to the middle the arc right now i’m out called the grizzl here what makes him so effective well his size and mobility a rare combination and how good he is instinctively at the defensive end of the floor i mean he can get out and get in a stance and guard guards and he also can bang inside with big physical guys and he’s very fluid in his motion great agility love watching that young fella play and the cruise no good the Magic Trail by five [Applause] bane with it his numbers are looking pretty good he’s got his scoring average up around 18 and 12 points a game there’s the three they grab their own miss wagner finds Van Carol carter with a screen on Caldwell Pope second shot opportunity and it’s laid in by Van Carol vanero’s got 14 seems like he can’t miss right now guys i mean completely in the zone this quarter pass to Elama [Applause] here’s Jackson defended by Carter and the whistle blows it’s going to be on Pablo Van Carol that’ll be his second foul of the game so for the magic checked in for Carter gary Harris comes in for Vagner and Cory Joseph subbed in for Jaylen Sub memphis also making some changes brandon Clark he’s jacked in for Santi Aldama and Anthony subbed in for Caldwell Pope now here’s Anthony he gives his team some nice contributions averaging a bit over 10 points a game jackson misses the Magic Trail by three [Applause] dan Carroll looking around [Applause] here’s Joseph and he’s fouled pretty hard on that shot but he’s got the chance to pick up the points at the line you know because Cory Joseph when he has the ball is always in a probing posture he’s hard to guard without fouling at times two shots that free throw no good [Applause] [Applause] and he sinks the second memphis has gotten fewer than half of their three-pointers to go down tonight they are four for nine but in the latest now from our sideline reporter David Aldridge david it’s all yours take it away kevin thanks last season the Magic retired the first jersey number in their franchise’s history that of our esteemed colleague and Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal orlando’s number one pick back in 1992 jack went on to lead them to their first NBA Finals appearance in 1995 the honor is welld deserved Kevin yep he’s our teammate isn’t he David we love him as a guy and we love him as a player and so is Jackson who brings it up for the Grizzlies they’ve led by as many as 11 points and again Memphis no good and one thing I liked in the first quarter was their aggressiveness to draw the contact putting the defense on the defensive yeah exactly and I think they need to continue to press that advantage they’ve got to get back to that don’t go away from that it’s been working so well for him stay with it now here’s Morance he seems to always be finding ways to score averaging around 23 and a half points a game and I’m amazed at Morance’s ability to take contact and still stay in full control here’s Ban Carol he’s got 14 hogner with a screen for Ban Carol fades and shoots buries it from three-point range vanero’s got 17 pick works well there not much resistance from the deep yeah that’s not the defense you need you got to be tougher defensively clark a screen on Vagner and they call the foul so he’s got the and one chance here to make it a three-point play exploiting the opposing defense in the paint here that they’ve set up shop down in there this second quarter and boy are they cashing in Jackson at the line for one and that one misses man you love how Jackson Jr has responded to setbacks and injury in his career he doesn’t get discouraged just makes him work harder now Anthony after the miss three from Desmond Bane rejected by Ben Carroll harris with it he’s picked up by Morant pass to Ban Carol good harris gets the assist and that’s now 19 points for Paulo Ban Carol he’s starting to find himself out there now you know he’s taking much better shots here in the second quarter morant outside jackson setting the pick here for Morant and here’s Anthony for three that one drops and he’s now two for five prepare to let it fly anthony was just waiting for the rock [Applause] 32 seconds left in the first half cler has screened on Clark and finished off by Vodner and in terms of size not your typical center but man he plays as big as any of them thanks to that terrific leaping ability now here’s Jackson he had a 12-point outing in their last game against Oklahoma City and one of the big ways he came through was at the foul line and they couldn’t contain him he was equally effective at scoring baskets as well as getting to the line and this is his first trip to the line tonight an 80% shooter the work he’s done at the line this season one word solid guys he’s slightly fallen off his pace from a year ago at the line and those points from the stripe have been a little harder to come by that’s good from Morant and it’s hard to pick a more electrifying player in the league than John Moran he explodes off the floor now Van Cameron he’s got 19 here’s the teard drop and the rejection by Jackson and some good action through the first two quarters as we reach halftime grizzlies lead by five we’ll see you after halftime for the beginning of the third quarter and please direct your attention to the center court and get ready for the man and pork shot from lineing [Applause] up the shot so give it up for the participant thanks for joining us through the first half there is still some work to do for the Orlando Magic my bed is the best you can buy but it ain’t as soft as their defense right now they got to shore up that side of the ball i think Shaq needs a nap somebody’s tired of watching bad D all right and now that we are in the later stages of the season here’s how the standings are looking in the East you know for Orlando they’re right around where we expected them to be at this point nothing to be ashamed of they’ve had some great wins and now they know exactly what they need to work on to become what sort of adjustments were discussed during the half you know Paulo Bangerro guys has been exceptional the way he was able to finish on the block was incredible there in that first half yeah you game that’s been fairly even so far underneath in the post it’s Vancero and Carter Jr desmond Bane out there with Sugs and it’s Vagner in the three slot is out there for Orlando now here’s Shards hits it from three-point lane and hero’s got 22 and got to like what they’ve been doing down low in the post i certainly do you know I like to see guys do their work inside their rebounding has been excellent and that’s always important in a close game here’s Aldama trying to come right back with a three of his own it’s no good here’s Ben Campbell and out of bounds as Memphis gains possession all right a chance here to check out the stats for some nice work from him over the last 10 games and he’s right up there in the top 20 in scoring certainly a force to be reckoned with offensively and he really is the consmate playmate always keeping his head on a swivel searching for the open man completely unselfish basketball player shoots the three carter pulls it in carter’s got rebound number eight now in the ninth and if you’re just joining us we play it over a minute here in the third carter sets the pick for Van Carroll looking for Carter he gets it there always a threat to score van Carol that time with a sweet foul oh back outside Jackson pass to Caldwell Pope the three from Mor carter pulls it in carter’s got nine rebounds in the game getting it done they have yet to hit a shot a real slow start here in the second half so they take the lead here z has got his second basket of the game well I like this execution coming out of the half solid three for four from the field so far has to call well Pope inside here’s Jackson no good unable to end this run ugly start to the second half they missed their first four they’ve got to get on track [Music] wagner kicks to Suns a three-pointer off the mark hey how about imagining if they were hitting their shots how big the lead could be but so far that’s not been the case some nice passing there by Memphis back to Jackson and the dunk by Jackson and the flush from Jackson Jr great wingspan and at 611 he’s got a little nasty in and a timeout called by Jamal Mosley he’s ready to talk things through with the team [Applause] wow [Applause] now at the moment here let’s take a look at our rookie leaderboard and who’s putting up the most points per game [Applause] well we’re into the third quarter just over two and a half minutes played pass to Van Go oh good on the triple the Grizzlies have gone only one of five from the field since halftime very slow start offensively morant passes to El Dama back to Morant and foul on the shot so he’ll get a chance at the line afraid with how explosive John Maria is he has certainly taken his fair share of awkward falls and that’s what worries you with guys like that he he’s already had a number of injuries in his young career but we all just want to see him at full health that one is off now and all NBA caliber talent morant still feels like he has room to improve good on the second free throw they’re ahead but if they don’t get a stop here that free throw could prove critical carter outside [Applause] that’s him that’s his fifth field goal he’s shooting a hot 71% five for seven morant dishes to Jackson right wing mor sets a screen for Wells pass to Mor ow jackson shot clock at five jackson is doubled here’s Wells money from the wing wells has got 19 points oh well pope really solid in passing the ball and passes like that prove it morance against Suggs no one near Van Carol as he lets it go and a little luck that time but it drops seven lead changes now Caldwell Pope memphis needs to get off a shot here wells off the mark there with the three-point shot yeah but the defenders draped all over him he just could not shake loose here’s Vagner and he gets the whistle two free throws coming up ga when you look at the development of France Vodner what now is the next step for him Kevin for me it’s the three-point shooting specifically becoming more Magic again can’t hit and the D does just enough to throw off his rhythm on that shot williams gets the bucket yeah these defenders had better start closing down on shooting as Renon Jackson and it’s Van Carol missing and here are the Grizzlies now they’re on a 13-4 run right now get that bucket in in no time at all and now a six-point Grizzly lead and at the offensive end he’s done about as much you look at Edy one of the top intimidators in the league a fierce shot blocker and that ability to send shots away at the rim so highly valued it takes guts to put yourself in harm’s way and contest those finishers well he does such a good job of positioning himself so you have a hard time getting shots over one of the best of all rookies denying the rim offensive rebound jackson misses the Magic Trail by three black kicks to Joseph back to Black fogner as three on P and contact on the shot so he’ll be shooting free throws here yeah nice strong finish there nearly a three-point opportunity full throttle pedal to the metal attacking basketball i like that for Orlando they have shot nine of 11 at the free throw line shooting two [Applause] that’s good from Vagner wow they’ve made every free throw here in the second half and that efficiency as you know so critical when you’re looking to overcome a deficit you got to be close to perfect and can’t waste scoring opportunities both shots good from the strike and so it’s Pippen with it he brings it up for the Memphis Grizzlies they’ve led by as many as 11 points outside Williams pass to Jackson [Applause] and he could not get them one to go on a contact and he’ll go to the line for two that’s on Jonathan Isaac and between his footwork and height Jackson is a tough matchup for defenders here he takes full advantage and draws the foul first free throw is good [Applause] he’s off on the second orlando trailing here for the tie and two free throws coming up unable to get that one to go with all the contact second in opponent’s points fourth in opponent field goal percentage and they are in the top third in the league in blocks rim protection obviously important to them and they have the horses to do it their defense has been unreal you brought up their points allowed ranking they dictate the pace of every game they play it’s impossible to get out and run against them that’s good from Harris his improvement each year in the league is impressive harris knows his role is to score the ball and he does it well [Applause] so he makes one of two as the second one misses frank their unselfish play has really been impressive they’re trusting one another out there wanting to get each other involved this is great basketball edy gets the bucket they are just killing them on the interior yeah you can’t say that with enough emphasis i mean the defenders are just not being aggressive enough down low you got to play with some physicality in the paint now here’s Joseph he’s got five hogner passes to Joseph hodner with a screen for Joseph shoots over Pippen the shot is good and the Memphis leads back to just one in the basket from Joseph joseph’s got seven points williams dishes to Pippen [Applause] 32 resistance from the D yeah that’s not the defense you need you got to be tougher defensively pivot against Joseph six to shoot bodner as Reon Pit and finished off by Bogner and really just unselfish basketball on the interior that’s the kind of pass a coach loves to see and so it’s Jiren Jackson making highlights for the Memphis Grizzlies he got into double digits for the quarter with 10 points simply been the more physical team and that’s why they’re ahead the fader and he sinks that one hitting the back of the rim on the way in and it’s an eight-point Magic lead and here’s Moran he’ll bring it up for Memphis pass to here’s Caldwell Pope now here’s Wells and here’s Caldwell Pope guarded by Bane Morant with it beyond the arc rebound by the Magic and Carol’s got rebound number 11 for the second you know at just about 85% from the line tonight which is really excellent they’ve looked more and more comfortable as this game has gone on aldama passes to Jackson anthony in the corner it’s good the assist this time from Jackson jackson’s got four assists in the game that’s on the defense you got to guard Anthony from the corner [Applause] carter outside bane against Anthony from deep and he gets it back yeah just nice hustle there that work gets them the extra possession down to five on the shot clock a kick out to Bane over Anthony another miss by Orlando the Grizzlies trail by three now Jackson pass to Jackson the wide open look here for Anthony and again it’s the Grizzlies from deep when it comes to solid three-point shooting Anthony makes them when they count the most vanero outside and oh boy a lot of contact there but he gets the call and will shoot two that’s on Jiren Jackson and breaking down some numbers here the hustle stats for the Grizzlies a high effort brand of defense has been paying off for them in this one they’ve managed to either block or alter a ton of their opponent’s shots and I love the fact they kept the pressure on really pushing that ball running it up the floor i love seeing that a team staying aggressive even when they’re playing well [Applause] no free throws good from Ban Carol you know once in a while a guy will come into the league and just hit the ground running ban Carol was a star from the first week aldama finds Jackson outside Anthony over Bane anthony missing again magic have gone eight of 14 from the floor here in the fourth quarter pulls up on the wing and it’s Vagner missing memphis has gone three and five from beyond the arc since the final quarter’s gotten underway it’s stolen by Van Carrick [Applause] bane passes to Vagner now Van Carol guarded by Jackson Carter down low jackson on him just five to shoot here’s S a three-pointer no good and it’s just one of those days guys he has just struggled to shoot the basketball pass to Jackson banked in off the glass jackson’s got 12 points in just the second half and that’s a player with no fear jackson steps to the forefront goes out and gets them a massive bucket and that one is good for subs jaylen Suggs was known for knocking down big time hoops in college we’re already seeing it translate here in the NBA as well great confidence from that young man pass to Elmo jackson against Clark and the whistle blows it’s going to be on Vancouver and here are the Grizzlies now opens it up there for Morant and stolen by Vagner great job preventing that ball from coming into the post might have been an easy two if the defense wasn’t there [Applause] 15 at the line for two desmond Bane shooting two on the first and that makes it a three-point lead and what you love about Bane is just how hard he works this drive to keep getting better on display [Applause] and he is unable to get the second one as Jackson with the ball bringing it up for Memphis and the call on the shot sends it to the line and Anthony has no off switch which I like he’s adept at attacking defenses and drawing fouls [Applause] first free throw is good and that brings them within two here and when it comes to efficiency Anony’s strongest suit is at the line [Applause] and Anthony drops them both and Orlando has possession suggs looking around here’s Ben Carol and it’s blocked out of bounds as Orlando keeps possession and we got to take a second look to admire that outstanding block you know that’s about as good a defensive play as you’re going to see instant reaction to get a hand on the shot beautifully done outside Bane magic moving the ball around five on the clock and a lot of contact on that one so he’ll shoot two here and all eyes on Barrow here they want to see how he handles some intense pressure [Applause] and he could not get the first one to drop tough one to miss [Applause] [Applause] and the second of two is good that will put them up by two well they should be looking at a three-point lead hopefully for them that miss won’t cost the teardrop good close out from Suggs right there how about the young fella impacting the game at the defensive end so it’s the Grizzlies now jackson kicks to Mor five to shoot pass through Aldo and this is where Bonero needs to keep improving good to see him working hard on D now Van Carol [Music] [Applause] it’s rebounded by Memphis this isn’t a done deal yet but they have got to move quick that’s the way to go count it he has tied up this game oh what a shot oh you just love seeing our player with absolutely with a nice touch off the glass and Carol’s got 44 man great work inside this is where Bono feasts now here’s Wells guarded closely and trying for the go-ahehead basket it doesn’t go inner outside and Carol has screened for Bogner over and yep and the drops have been rolling around the rim at 610 you love the versatility that France Vogner provides i mean this guy’s very effective in the twoman game there’s Jackson with the three good on the triple jackson’s got 27 points it’s important that you have big men who can shoot in this day and age and this guy can really stretch the floor and Carol outside back to Sug and they wasted no time getting those three points back and the Magic lead by four suggs clearly on a mission right there he went to the line looking for payback they set the screen [Applause] here’s Morant van Carol grabs the board magic leading by four here’s Bane second chance shot and deep carter drops it in right there i mean Carter using his instincts and his motor to track down the miss and convert it into second chance points that’s just really good work pass to Jackson [Applause] back to Mor and two free throws coming up unable to get that one to go with all the content it’s on Jaylen Summers no question he got bumped on that shot yeah the officials didn’t need to talk that one over it was obvious two shots that’s good from Morant [Applause] he doesn’t get the second one magic leading by five van Carol left side and finished off by Van Carol van Carol putting together some kind of performance here he’s the entire pack mor the bounce back here’s Jackson B with the steel and Vagner has it in the corner orlando moving the ball and Carol inside defended by O’Donnell van Carol that’s good vanero’s got the lead up to nine now for Orlando oh the defense puts contact on Vancero inside but he just pulls right through it and it’s set back by Carter morance against Suds [Applause] pass to Van Carol [Applause] for three that’s in for his fifth field goal of the game it’s him five for 12 so far the moment Bane crosses half court you have to pick him up desmond an incredible shooter here’s Jackson and that one clearly a foul gets the whistle and two shots coming up oh the officials are all over that one clearly a foul i mean didn’t give him any choice but to blow the whistle i mean you got to play without foul jackson two shots two [Applause] and he can’t get the first one [Applause] he hits the second from the line not nearly as productive a trip to the line as he’d have liked they need all their free throws to go down at this point and now as the clock ticks down this is going to end up as a solid victory here for Orlando you’re right not much time left you know they couldn’t put him away in regulation but after what we’ve seen here a superb performance in overtime but they’re managing to get the job done yeah just an amazing game and ultimately they were able to just pull away there at the end and so they’ll be advancing their win total to 42 games well at least they’re going to salvage a game from the season series after losing the first two and I think it says a lot about them that they were able to salvage this game when you drop the first two against a team you can often get down on yourself they overcame that mental roadblock and were impressive in doing so and one of the key components to this victory if not the biggest was the incredible performance for Paulo Banger boy from a scoring standpoint he was absolutely sensational made the game look easy tonight here’s what Orlando’s going with right now isaac’s checked in for Carter harris comes in for Vagner anthony Black’s checked in for Bane and it’s Joseph in for Jaylen SS and Caldwell Pope drops them both contavious Caldwell Pope his defensive quickness sets him apart and here’s Banero right side joseph Don Carroll with the screen black no good fate looking very thin now gray with very few ticks of the clock remaining they’ll need something special to happen and it needs to happen fast [Applause] and so it’s Orlando winning this one they escape with a victory although they needed an extra period to get it back yeah but what a great game i mean both teams I felt like gave it their all but when it came to OT it was just all about sheer determination on their And now we’ll send it over to David Aldridge who is standing I am completely amazed NBA 2K25 but I’m pretty sure some of you are just like me that is not very pleased and contented with the game, so down below I will have my wish list for the upcoming NBA 2K26.
MY WISH LIST FOR NBA 2K26:
1. More Realistic Graphics and Movements (they did well with the player signature etc)
2. Realistic Players, Coaches and Fans Reaction. (maybe too much to ask for every play but maybe in some amazing plays like a buzzer beater or a poster staring down someone and gets a technical just like how today’s NBA)
3. Personal commentators for each teams + playoffs or finals. (is it too much to ask?)
4. Make the commentators feel more alive commentating for each plays like what WWE 2K22 did.
5. Make my career story more interesting and longer.
