apple spotify youtube etc and without any more delay we’ll dive back in now with part two myself and brian sharter on the nba draft i’ll pivot a little bit here and ask you about a guard and it’s jace richardson i i don’t jace would be a non-starter for the he’s too small for for the hawks okay that was my question is because i know you like him generally at least you have liked him uh and he’s a hooper man he can score yeah and i i feel like that’s a there’s a split between people that on him in general and then there’s a hawk split on him it’s like okay i mean if jay falls to 22 do it okay so i think we’re honestly i think we are aligned exactly on that i think at 13 i wouldn’t take him for the hawks other teams maybe i could see it 22 he’s probably best player available there depending on how maybe best player there breaks um so but just to dig on this a little bit philosophically as far as like he measured so small he’s more of a combo guard than a pure point i would say and look i mean philos you can go either way on this like on on one hand the hawks have needed a second ball handler second creator whatever for a long time a guard i get all that but also can he play with trey like at all and it’s i don’t know the guy i’ve been comparing him to for four months and the guy that i think he honestly physically profiles the most like is nick vanexel and imagine nick vanexel and trey young playing together you can’t they just wouldn’t yeah i mean yeah it just wouldn’t and that’s fine it’s not even a negative or knock on jayce i like i love nick vanexel yeah um for also a hawks legend in a coaching capacity not a player capacity but if he was taller if he was taller he could be a jason terry type and i think that’s more appealing but i mean jason terry was 63 and a half jason terry’s tall for what he is that’s why he was jason terry and there was the thought that maybe jace could measure around there but he did not he measured i mean the nice wingspan again i think i have jace 11th or 12th like jayce is really good he can really i know you like him he’s gonna he’s going to be an acquired taste for some teams like i i’d draft casperus over him if i was the hawks if that was my choice easily yeah i casper is big i still think i can’t actually i can’t get a feel for yonas like a chances he might for the longest time i was like for the longest time i was thinking he just won’t be available at 13 and now i’m like maybe he will be um while we’re here this is casper from illinois who i know uh you you’ve watched quite a bit do you like him in a vacuum and also can can he play you know he’s more of a is he a point guard do you think he’s a point guard i think so because his reads are so high level um his his ability he’s a great uh he’s a great lookoff passer he’s a great like his speed of his passes it’s like watching hallebertton even though the pacers lost tonight people have wa i feel like a lot of people are really watching hallebertton closing for the in for an extended period and you see like how accurate his passes are how fast they are and yakonis isn’t that level but he’s got that skill of just like quick read quick pass like this is where the ball’s going his problem was that teams would just sit on those passes and force him to drive and like depending on the team he couldn’t like against duke he couldn’t he tried he couldn’t do it and like that’s his problem is that he’s just not a full-time point guard he’s not going to be a guy who gets to the rim like a crazy amount but the the ability is so is so like he’s such a smart player and he’s very strong so i don’t i don’t see how he’s not like a he’s going to have the ball a lot he’s going to be a decision maker yeah i think he’s like worst case like i think the guy you want to look at for him is like a kis tai jerome pajki sort of like because those guys are all ball handlers they just aren’t full-time ball handlers right and the hosk use that player i mean he’s got enough size where he can maybe play some trey the turnovers are a lot and like i’m someone who actually usually doesn’t worry about that that much for guys who have the ball because i’ve done a sprint a million times but like the turnover guys in the league the the top guys turn the ball over a lot they just except for tyres except for tyres alurn that’s true um he is the outlier but like i do worry a little bit about about yonas doing he turned the ball over a lot he got yeah he he just had to pick the ball up a lot and he couldn’t do anything a lot of his turnovers he’s not a bad pass turnover uh he’s a he’s a live ball like just dribble guy uh kade kate has this problem yeah kade gets kade gets jammed he gets pressured on the ball and he just loses it a lot because he has no he doesn’t have as many options to get around people as faster more athletic guys do which is why kate has to be surrounded by shooters and it took the pistons three years to figure that out right what do you think about um shooters or jaylen duran i guess fine he’s got the ability to hit tough shots he just teams just really i think they figured out about twothirds of the way through the season that like is a good player and they have okay shooters but like when the illinois ro when the illinois lineup was boswell and jakonis like nobody with any ability to go to the rim and then like ben hmer house there just was they just stayed on shooters that’s all they did they just stayed on the shooters and dared the guards to beat them one-on-one like they couldn’t and so it just it just really like their offense more or less fell off a cliff the last like three weeks of the season yeah i mean while we’re on the ground that problem is that’s not a problem the strength driving guy i feel more confident in because you can’t play like that in the nba because everyone like let’s say the hawks have in like kobe jaylen johnson aong wu yakonis and let’s say they draft cedric coward those guys those guys are still driving like you’re not playing like that if jaylen johnson’s on the floor because he’s gonna dunk on your head like you can’t play like that every nba team has five or six guys that you can’t just play you can’t just play zone spread out defense on they’re going to kill you like they will they will annihilate you that’s the difference like yeah it’s it yakonis is the rare not that athletic guard who will do better with more athleticism i feel like because he’ll just have more room to make passes it’s the rondo thing remember people teams start to play off rondo and he was just like all right i’m just going to fire these one-handed passes and for backups and not yeah with no pressure it’s a good point like i like you have to pressure yak yakonas has to be pressured that’s that’s the way you defend him and like that’s going to be harder to do in the nba so i i still believe in him as a lottery pick because i he’s just really smart he’s really strong yeah i haven’t thought about him a ton with the hawks because i thought he might be gone but there’s a world in which he’s there and i think you could definitely take him and make it work because the size is there and the skill set’s there i want to 65 215 like he’s big he’s a big dude he’s got he’s got shooting guard size it’s like pretty normal shooting guard size fish is brought to you by lollipop lollipop is a new kind of soda made for people who love the classic taste of soda but want something that actually supports their health with only two to five grams of sugar and nine grams of now it’s just something i drink a lot at the moment and it tastes even better when you actually know that it supports your gut health with the osmart prebiotic blend and from there ollipop also gives head to drinkllipop.comlockedon nba to claim your free can and find ollipop near you one more time that is drinkollipop.com/lockedonba two guys that are a little bit further down the board while we’re doing guards um different kind of actually maybe three guys actually i’ll put these guys together you got nolan triayore walter clayton jr and ben sarof are all like between 15 and 27 on consensus boards that i’ve seen different kinds of for the hawks for the hawks i would say saraf is the best bet because he’s i really feel like he’s he’s i’m not comparing him to manu i mean manu is one of my favorite players but he is the weird herkyjerky drive guy of that group and is also probably the biggest so i think he’d be the best fit for them he is the biggest of those guys for sure i think 65 65ish probably 19year-old like has good good size for sure i’m just i’m just unsure of his shot um yep he’s a guy who obviously takes a lot from luca and tries luca’s stuff but he doesn’t have luca’s touch so it’s kind of i i don’t love his like he he settles for a lot of weird runners which i don’t like he rims he like front rims a lot of layups which is weird but he might he might be able to to carve out a role as like a like rudy fernandez style like just weird guy who just takes cuts and back cuts and scores off like weird lot of garbage man stuff like i think he’s the best fit for the hawks even if he’s not my favorite player of that group because trayor i don’t know what to think of him anymore there is a there is a big split on him from people that i talk to like people i just love i don’t know if he’s a point guard and if he’s has to be when you’re when you’re like 175 and 6’2 63 like you got gota have to be a point guard probably or unless you’re just a freak athlete and he’s he’s a good athlete but not crazy yeah i don’t i he’s he’s so weird evval he’s just really hard to to like get a handle of because he he’s like possession by possession he’s a different guy um which may end up meaning he’s like a moody eye or a uh ellie kobo type player which th those are two scary uh references to make uh but again at 22 yeah i get the shot and again i this is not a good probably not it’s probably bad radio my tolerance at 22 is pretty wide like in this class i know we kind of did the whole bit when you when you were on last about like the the class overall which why we didn’t do it again but i i mean it’s a lot weaker there are a few guys that i would think the hawks could reasonably draft at 22 that i would be like really mad about like there’s not a big list of those guys there’s some guys that i would be like prefer that i i would prefer but like danny wolf even danny wolf at 22 wasn’t isn’t offensive to me like it’s not like i you know at 13 i would be pretty mad about danny wolf i got to be honest with you well brett let let me let me rephrase that you have to watch danny wolf uh have a 28 turnover rate again are you excited yeah that’s that’s that’s tough to watch no i but even then with danny wolf he good example right of a guy that he’s been such he’s been such a fun guy to hear uh to re listen to for other podcast because a lot of teams a lot of guys will have michigan people on and they’ll all they’re all like “no we hate this guy.” yeah i mean it’s it’s so funny everybody that watches a lot of michigan like just regularly is like not out on it was i was glad he was there he he made them better this year but i did not buy into the nba draft thing with him a ton but even then i have him like 30 it’s like i have him 50 like it’s he’s a reasonable prospect um so so that’s my long-winded way of saying like bener off sure even walter clayton i’d probably lower on than some i would get it lower than that where are you where do you have him 28 that’s about where i have him he’s my tier four guy for a while his problem is his problem is that he’s just not a good decision maker yeah if the decision is not if the pro if the decision the decision tree for walter clayton is should i shoot a pull-up if the answer is no what does he do like he’s not good at it i trust the scoring i trust the scoring it’s just that oh yeah he he will he will be a good like he should be a decent ben scorer like the be able to do that i agree but like i think his size but i don’t think he’s gonna hit that yeah i i wish i could just i wish i bought i bought the passing ball and i just i just don’t and you don’t want to overweight i try not to overweight this stuff but like you watch him in the final four and when he’s being when he was getting keyed on it was not terribly impressive and the plan b and plan c were not great i know they won the championship anyway but i didn’t love what happened when he was like getting the attention that he should get he was their star but they won the championship because they had four sevenfooters i yeah and will richard had a great had a great final and all those things great final anyway um he’s a guy well okay h’s not sevenfooter but hulk’s awesome um no he’s he’s very good uh yeah i mean clayton the only the the counter argument for him is very easy it’s what happened to marcus howard what happened to carson edwards what happened to casius winston like these guys have not worked he at least the he he is a little bigger than those guys at least he’s 200 lb he’s a little buffer yeah yeah like he and i buy the shot too which definitely helps he’s not a bad athlete i don’t think he’s a great athlete but he’s not a bad one i just wish he could pass more but it’s fine and that’s i think if he’s a better passer i would i would probably have him at like 18 instead of 28 um he’d probably be my second i think he might still be my second lead guard like full-time point guard but he would definitely be if i trusted the passing at all yeah i’m with you i wanted to make sure i asked you about a player that got a lot of attention as we’re talking last couple days because he measured well he’s international player who i don’t know if i talked about much at all and it’s hugo gonzalez um former top 10 coming into the season he was in my top 10 so yeah yeah i mean he has been on the radar the whole time he’s at real madrid 67 wing but like a guy that i swear to you i don’t know if i’ve talked about at all on the show and is definitely in the hawks range and i think he measured well and people were like whoa he measured well okay so is he a firstrounder for like what do you and also what do you i think the questioneneral i don’t think he’s going to i think he’s going to be a stash guy is what i what i had been led to understand which means i feel like somebody’s mock was like maybe it was sam’s i can’t somebody had a mock that was like maybe he’ll be a stash guy but maybe he doesn’t want to be a stash guy and might fight it um yeah if he doesn’t want to be a stash guy that could put that’s what i’m saying it could push him out of the first round because teams aren’t gonna not saying teams do uh stat draft do stash guys in the first round but if you fight it they’re not taking you first round they they’ll take you 31 i i found it it was it was actually gavon gavon said in his recent kind of two pair mock with jeremy woo um he said there’s a possibility that he could convince themselves to stash him but quote something that surely would not be appealing to his camp at this stage yeah so that may that may push him into the second round but i think he’s i mean he’s a good athlete hugo hugo’s whole thing has been like his ability to kind he maybe he’s more than rudy fernandez just because he’s spanish uh but he’s been a good athlete and like like play hard worker plays really hard his question has just been like developing like on ball scoring ability and he doesn’t seem like he’s done that but he’s also not played it’s like i had somebody the other day tell me leonard miller was a bust and i’m like is he they’re like 180 minutes he hasn’t played leonard miller and also this is not this is not a podcast about leonard miller but like yes it is where was he gonna play i mean it’s not his fault he hasn’t been able to play on a team that made the conference finals two years in a row like they should trade him to the chicago bulls uh so he could play yeah but no i i am not out on gonzalez he’s got decent enough size he plays hard from what i’ve seen on film like defensively i kind of get it and he’s you know but classic slashing wing he’s a classic slasher like catch catch off the catch on like attack and close out two dribble layup dunk guy um if he can develop like a handle he could have he could end up having top 20 value in this class easily like he did at one point that was he was consensus top like a lottery he was up there he just didn’t play yeah that was the thing was brought to you by game time playoffs the intensity buzzer beers fans was in their minds it’s all kind of the experience of the atmosphere that you have to about guys you want to talk about because i know you have hundred of them um they could be deep guys they could be your your guys that we haven’t talked about anybody that you want to talk about um the hawks have a second round pick i’ll say that out loud now but they could easily get one if they wanted to get one so that guys that are in this range i will pass along to you right now brian that uh hawks fans really like hansen yang i get it yeah i mean i i i i’ve never seen him play so i i just haven’t found a game of his um but like just the workout stuff you see it’s like i mean mitchell robinson got drafted for workout stuff and i don’t think he’s that level of prospect but like hansen yang is huge yeah he’s massive he’s huge and he seems like he has real touch so like huge touch and he can pass those those are the three things they had to um like that that he should get he’s definitely should be getting a shot over the the grant nelson’s and and dylan cardwells and unfortunately the vlad golden’s like and i’m using that as an example because i i think yang is going to go in the second round despite hawks fans thinking he might go at 22 um even then people league i could i could see a team in the late first especially one of these teams that has a pick in the second just sure beating to the punch and drafting yeah if you want to get the team control and all those things i get it but like i’ll just i’ll let you throw throw out names but like people ask me sometimes about yannik conan uh netherhauser from penn state just got a big awesome mover yeah hawks fans are looking for se sevenfooters brian that’s the thing he can move he’s another guy i think is really interesting um let me go through my digs then bolio marovich i think is interesting although he’s more of a four but he could shoot uh momo fay i like he was pretty productive for what where he was playing 75 wingspan i mean this muhammad momo fay from uh i think he’s at riana did you disparage vlad golden a minute ago did i hear that on this podcast did you just take a shot at vlad golden come on what are we doing here i love vlad golden but you’re not drafting him nobody’s drafted him first round like no i agree i’m just i’m kidding i mean i will say you’re taking yang you’re taking yang over that guy agreed i would say this if if my golden is available on a 2-way i would sign beth golden to a 2a no a perfect two-way guy yeah like he’s good he’s a good basketball player i um i mean zakarski is still out there and zakarski even though he he basically massive human beings he measured at 73 73 260 with a 75 wingspan he’s enormous um and he’s 19 and you know kulk brener will be out there kulk brener almost certainly will be a decent nba player there’s like very little doubt of that i i think col brener is going to go in the first round that’s my that’s my uh i can see it i i can understand it because like teams are moving back more towards the l cornet types like the luke cornet colin castleton just like big backup drop big future future lornett i’ll say this you know who would really like to have ryan cockper right now would be the indiana pacers so they could stop playing thomas bryant uh yeah he would very much help them at the moment um we don’t have to go keep doing centers we could talk about guys that i know you got like your sicko stuff i like right now um no amari williams i’m a big fan of the kentucky guy i can’t remember where he went before but he’s a crazy uh like high assist percentage sevenfooter that’s always fun i said gret nelson tested so well that he’s got to be on the list then you got like a jonas idoo julian reese he’s not really a center but he’s angel’s brother he’ll bring in some clicks um good player like good strong rebounder everyone wants clicks that’s the moral of the story everyone wants clicks i like daniel bacho from louisiana tech he’s almost 20 he’s 23 but he was awesome former texas tech guy i believe um one of those guys who was on who was on a couple power conference teams never played and then went down a level and started dominating uh victor lockin although he got hurt you ever heard of hunter dickinson i don’t i don’t like hunter please don’t do that to me i linkedin.com would be what i would say yeah get a job the cursed hunter dickinson uh i was he’ll probably play in europe soon for a while but no no he’s a professional basketball player he’s just an [ __ ] we we can we can also we we can do non- centers uh like for instance i was i was going through my centers of guys i kind of like uh i’m actually going down my wings uh noah penda 22 take him oh okay oh i’m going to ask you i forgot i forgot about him so i like no a lot do you so you you think a 22 would be reasonable because i think totally fine for me i i 67 67 thick guy can shoot can play defense like there’s yeah take that guy i like in this draft where there was like a he’s only 20 falls off a cliff yeah he’s 20 he’s french give give zach a friend uh to speak with and grow with uh no i like classic royce o’neal type way of just like this is a guy who’s going to play bigger than he looks because he’s just or kevin williams he’s gonna play bigger than he looks because he’s just a he’s built like a brick [ __ ] house and he’s not afraid of contact we’ll shoot spot ups and we’ll get rebound like yeah no offend in general yeah he should be he should be there i mean pal i’m i’m a big drake pal guy the testing for the same reason i just yeah the testing was absurd he just peyton watson that that’s that’s the idea it’s like we’re going to buy low on this freak who played excellent defense and just hope that the handle improves at all and the thing is even though peyton watson’s really hasn’t he’s still solid he’s still okay and pal a i think he didn’t because he didn’t do that much at carolina like he was a fivestar like he he was a real guy i’ll say this i asked someone i asked a scout friend of mine before the year what’s the biggest reason i shouldn’t have him top 10 and he said he’s playing at north carolina well he’s playing with rj davis and ian jackson and like 100 guards just guard city but yeah pal pal shot well yeah i i like no i like pal too i i feel like he’s gonna speaking of guys that are gonna go in the first round i think he’s gonna go in the first round because someone’s gonna see someone’s gonna buy the testing there’s been there’s been lottery rumors for him oh my lord that’d be a little aggressive uh but i get it do you like uh adiero from arkansas yeah he’s he’s a classic second rounder to me a dude just can’t he’s a straight ahead guy he’s just a complete like devonte green missile style guy he’s bigger so i i mean i i think he will be a fan favorite i think he will play in the league for a while and get a lot of hustle points and a lot of big rebounds and some cool dunks but i just don’t i don’t really see like the actual like creator type and he’s a little small for the floor so to me he’s a classic second round guy where like the opportunity cost is so low you can just take a shot on him but he will be he will be beloved if he plays real menace anywhere like he play he plays like he’s on fire that those guys always those guys always they make it yeah i think it’ll be in the league a different player altogether but someone i i haven’t talked to anybody about for a while do you think kobe brea can stick the shooting is absurd obviously but that’s like truly all it is can he do anything else i mean jordan hawkins is in the league isn’t he for now he won the lottery we’re going to say so yeah i think kob kobe’s a shooter i mean if it doesn’t work he just isn’t a good enough athlete or can’t play a good enough defense but well that’s why i’m asking can he can he stick everywhere else the shooting is going to work i have no doubt about the shooting whatsoever it’s like ridiculous i don’t know maybe i i would say he has about as good a chance as seth lundy so oh seth he should have been drafted but i was happy he was drafted where he was because you take the shot i still think i still think seth fundy if he could stay healthy for more than a month would be able to stick yeah that’s the other problem yeah but i also think kobe brea so it’s a little bit different not this is this is very on brand for us seth mundy could shoot but it wasn’t like this kobe brea is a like ridiculous like in the class shooter it’s and seth lundy’s a better athlete than kobe brea so it was like kind of the same thing but kind of not brea is like a specialist shooter like ridiculous could be like a garrison matthews kind of you know that archetype but garrison matthews made it so yeah i think i’m not i’m not i’m not really worried about him not making it personally i think he’s he’s a tier four guy for me which is a second round like that’s how i do my tears like one is a star like it’s flag and harper this year two is a lottery player like you should take a real shot on this guy three is a firstrounder so like sarif will riley penda uh nick clifford coward like those guys i have pretty feel pretty good about them and then four is just like a this guy should be drafted tier and that that’s where like kugong gonzalez theoro kobe brea neo optilus is my other wing in that spot he’s huge and then five is like a guy you take a shot on so yeah if you want me to talk more about some of my guys uh yeah i was i’m sure you got some some sicko stuff so share that with me now uh jaylen moore at oklahoma i’m just a fan of he just plays really hard zack austin at pit is a monster defender and then my two maybe my two most out there guys this year oh malik lewis i got to get rid of him he left my back uh steve settle the third from temple 69 trey murphy clone just not as athletic wait there’s a trey murphy clone i’m unaware of that’d be a good player to have around if there was steve settle steve settle three i mean it’s it’s because he’s he’s 69 and his he has a three on his name um i don’t think he’s anywhere near the prospect but i think i would definitely two-way him and then one of my honestly my favorite players in this entire class chris manon from vanderbilt who’s a 6’5 he’s a six5 guy who had like an eight block rate and like a four and a half stealer rate just the what big alex caruso vibes even though he’s not a guard he was crazy it’s just a guy who came out of nowhere and was just like on the pretty scrappy vanderbilt team was just a absolute stocks behemoth like just a crazy um my issue with my issue i i still he’s the only guy in my top 100 whose age i don’t know um it’s actually perfect when you think about yeah 5.3 steel 6.4 block rate he was at cornell for three years he had a career 5.6 steel rate that’s caruso stuff like that’s crazy he had a 10.4 bpm in the sec and he shot 23% from three at 65 something something yeah there’s something crazy going on with that like that’s crazy um yeah i like the 5.3 steel rate made my eyes bug out of my head like that’s not you can’t do that at 65 what are you doing he’s a new jersey guy he went to cornell and then he went to vanderbilt uh he’s like a pri he’s he is a priority 2a guy for me because i i just want to see what he is what is this guy doing what’s up here um i do have some guards i have like so i have clayton tier four like i love chucky heburn i adore chucky heburn he might be too small for the nba but i love him uh and and if you watch the tournament he almost won that game for louisville just going on a shot making explosion he was insane no i i really like him too he’s just so he’s so small and then how many guys how many guys have six weeks man stay in the league if they’re like at that like level you know what i’m talking about like it’s the it’s the kennedy chandler though it’s like yeah yeah if you’re not a if you’re not a clear firstrounder and you’re that size like those guys don’t stick very often yeah and he might i like i like him too it’s just like that’s i love chucky but yeah we’ll see um he could he could just have being shane lin and have a shane lin career and there’s no there’s no shame in that shane l made a lot of places i was gonna say he’s been that’s a good career to have if you’re a professional basketball player um i think it’s because of where he played i think i still think james is pretty underrated he’s gigantic i agree strongly he’s he’s one of my if i have a guy that i like in the second round like i like i i think about him at 30 i really would i don’t think about sign sam sam james at the end of the first round i’m in seion is so he i was talking before about how i don’t care about decision-m for centers i do care about it for other role players seion is i don’t know if i’ve ever seen him make a mistake like he he’ll have turnovers but everything he every time it all i understand what he’s doing at all times and he’s 220 looks like a linebacker he’s like a competent shooter yeah and like a good passer like he’s only going to be 23 so he’s not like ancient i mean he’s he’s old but he’s not like you know like the you get sometimes you get like the 26-y old in the draft and it’s like no cel he’s a two contract guy i a big fan of his i think i like him more than cam jones or chaz laneir and those are guys who are sometimes you see ahead of him cam’s just like not that athletic for what he is and see and chaz laneir is just shoot like he just shoots he’s good at it yeah he’s similar to brea not exactly the same player but like just just a similar bet you have to you have to buy shooting um let me go through here i mean i i still like elijah martin a lot uh the other florida guard he’s just a lunatic uh i mean again if you’re a guard and you’re you’re listed over 210 i’m a fan of yours great college player too just loved him uh are you are you an alex tui fan uh yeah he’s all right yeah he’s big i forgot about him in my wings he’s he’s gotten some uh he’s gotten some heat recently i’ve talked to somebody the other day that had has him as a first round pick i get it yeah he’s my tier five but he could definitely move up like i i he’s big he’s a big dude who moves really well but then my ultimate guy uh aside from daniel the the guy i will be get i would be two-way the draft ends on principle is kadari richmond of course yeah i would that’s the most my guy yeah that’s the most me guy in this he’s a he’s a 66 guard who can’t shoot come on yeah that’s extremely you for sure if you if you are 66 and you have like a 30% assist rate and like a five steel rate i am i’m a fan of you i don’t it doesn’t matter i i thought you i thought you were that you might say kobe johnson just for i still like kobe a lot i still like kobe i don’t know what to think of him now though because he he he had a good year at ucla like he wasn’t bad but he didn’t really he kind of took he just became like a straight up role player he didn’t have any like yeah and by the way listen still now he’s jaylen’s brother that’s why i brought it up yes yeah and he was a guy i loved last year before he before it turned out he actually couldn’t shoot at all yeah that is the question uh with him because he’s an awesome defender um yep i mean he’s a very similar player to jaylen it’s just he’s not as athletic and he’s like 65 yeah he’s smaller not as athletic which is not exactly an appealing package compared to jaylen he he should he should get a shot though i still think kobe should get a shot somewhere because the awesome he’ll be in summer league somewhere or on a two-way somewhere awesome team defender awesome team defender yeah i’m i’m in on him too as a like fringey bet are you in on john tani the 24y old from wisconsin i am not i don’t like john tani his he’s a classic um his shot diet is is lead scorer and he’s not going to be that he’s like the johnny he’s like johnny davis except for maybe he’s going to go in the 30s or 40s instead of the lottery but similar he’s he’s a i mean he’s an excellent foul draw he had a great college career and he had a great season oh yeah he was awesome and he’ll get a shot i think but i i don’t think he’s going to stick and i think he’s going to be in europe before too long um it’s just like and by the way it probably it probably be great over there too it probably be awesome probably be awesome yeah be the the new thomas walkup um i love how zone thomas walkup uh all right and then i have m i have max schulga also in there cuz he’s just uh very big for the type of shotmaker he’s 6’4 200 205 and he’s like a three-point bomber and like sam merrill has been a pretty good player and like there’s an archetype for that like there is kind of an athletic but like wide shotmaker guy i’m not a nhard guy because he’s just too small lamar butler’s too small mark sears is tiny uh caleb love makes me hate basketball rj davis is way too small i was not ready for that at all but yeah yeah i get it i i do sort of like ian martinez and chance mcmillan but that’s getting into those are like the i had to make a i decided to make a top 150 this was like three weeks ago before before a lot of guys left and i it was hard i was like pulling teeth got i got to the point where i was like i put like i put uh um javier francis in it even though he went back because it’s like i know he’s i know who he is at least dane danger was in it it’s like i was i was really i i forgot to say this earlier when when you mentioned nemhard you know you know who my nemhard comparison is and the league and the league has changed quite a bit since then not his brother uh if it works he’s monty morris if it works but he’s so much smaller than monty morris i know and money is pretty small and he’s even smaller two two or three inches smaller than monty morris is bad i know that is a bad and that’s why and that’s i had money as a first round pick and i do not have demar as a first round pick but that’s that’s the guy if if it works that’s going to have to be how it is like super low turnover really high passer like he’s really good at point guard stuff he’s just yeah no he’s he’s excellent he’s just he’s just so small the nba does not need those players anymore because everyone you have like the hawks the hawks run offense through jaylen a lot like and there or dyson who’s 67 and like freakish like yeah they’re the hawks want to have another guard who they trust but they would prefer it not be a 61 guy if they can help it you know what i mean ryan amar is not 6’1 no and he’s even smarter than matt yeah i’m just saying he’s 5’11 6 foot tops yeah he’s very small well brian thank you for all the time as always um the general rule for me is if i look down at you you’re not it’s just too small already like it’s probably a fair point uh you mentioned summer league if you’re going you’re heading out i got i got to buy the actual tickets for the games but yeah i got everything else got some good we’ll talk about it off air but i got a really good deal so yeah it’ll be nice it’ll be nice to see you uh i’ll be there as well as always that’ll be fun uh maybe we can talk about whoever the hawks draft after that or something um but in the meantime it’s crunch time for you we joked about it earlier you’ve already done a lot of work on this on this class i’m gonna add a few more still read it yeah i am gonna add a little more fluff to my capsule board and then officially i’m gonna it’s out now you can find it on my patreon now i’m going to officially release it for free sometime between now and a week to the draft so people should go ahead and follow you on social media and then also i haven’t written i haven’t written as much crazy fluff down into the 50s and 60s as i do some years to avoid burnout and because i’ve had personal stuff going on but i also don’t think people care about that really so well i do but i’m not normal so yeah i i learned my lesson when i wrote uh like eight paragraphs on kyle philipki and then the next day he went back to school and i was just like burn out i was like i can’t do this anymore so well it happened this year with uh a couple guys too yakel went back and well the baron thing is depressing me deeply kylon was the one i i knew that was going to bother you when it happened that’s my guy i love him he would have been my guy in this draft if he’d stayed because he’s such a smart decision maker he’s such an elite decision maker and he’s so cool he’s got well he’ll be and he’ll be a lottery pick next year it’d be fun so uh he might be a tough pick well there you go a chaotic chaotic good rondo energy and i love that well uh thank you again that’s my final comp uh patreon.combrianj correct all right good yep same as here do that follow brian on social media twitter are you back on blue sky i can’t remember if you’re on blue sky or not i’m on blue sky i don’t i’m not really doing basketball stuff on blue sky though okay follow brian on twitter if you are so inclined and follow i’m gonna i post cat pictures and talk about video games on blue sky perfect that’s worth following too i gotta say yeah uh thank you again sir i appreciate it especially late night postfinals game uh as for everybody else please subscribe to this podcast wall to wall between now and the draft and we’ll see everybody next time

  1. Anyone else think the Apple Card Advertisements are annoying? Have the neighbor interact with the couple to redeem this commercial. Guys do not panic. You will be great next year.

  2. The Walter Clayton disrespect is crazy. FL won the National Championship BECAUSE of Clayton, 30 vs Texas Tech, 34 vs. Auburn. He will be this years Jared McCain. Special shooter. Top 10 player in this draft. I wanted Hawks to trade #1 last year and get Spurs #4 and #8 picks to draft Clingan at #4 and McCain at #8.

  3. Sleeping on Ben Saraf that measured at nearly 6.7!
Supered talented with high i.q and high confidence.
He is an underated defender as well. On the other hand his shooting is streaky and he has a problem finishing around the rim but the kid is a propesional from the age off 15 playing in a propesional league.
Not saying he is Luka but don't miss out on number 77 again!

  4. A bit of improvement towards the conclusion. As always I appreciate the effort. Speaking of which it occured to me that it might be benefit players evaluation if one category for each player got checked off if you will, that of consistant systained effort extended. While being careful not to conflate this trait with player struggle which is useful when evaluating a players ability to persevere against perceived personal decencies needing work. Help, I think I am coming down with draft fever.
    Go Hawks!
