Kevin Durant Nearing A Trade To The Houston Rockets? | Summit State Of Mind

rumors reports and everything in between are the Houston Rockets close to acquiring Kevin Durant let’s read between the lines and talk about it what is going on everyone welcome to another edition of Summit State of Mind ruining Houston Rockets podcasting since 2020 presented to you by the Apollo podcast network and powered by JBRM BB that’s right Jarm BBcue the best happy hour the best barbecue in the entire city of Htown located just minutes from where the Houston Rockets play and possibly a future Hall of Famer could or could not be playing possibly maybe maybe according to rumors innuendo reports well I’m not I’m I you know let’s just cut to the chase and just immediately talk about it before we do though real quick got to introduce my brother the GM obviously the OG crew in the house right now one time for the one time stone Cold Merch wearing what what what i’m talking Kevin Durant what i’m talking rumors what i’m talking Houston Rockets what plus 350 what bulvvada what make the bets what number one what make the trade what is it jaylen Green what jabari Smith what dar East what i was like where do I end it buy yourself a Kawasaki mule what ladies and gentlemen you have listened to every Houston Rockets podcast across the board that has probably discussed at length to Kevin Durant uh to trades we are the only podcast that will open up an episode discussing a possible Kevin Durant trade with a stone cold open yeah that’s about right yeah talking about it big time right now GM hey okay let’s go ahead and talk about it right now kevin Durant our past two episodes have basically been covering i mean we’ve low-key talked about it for the past like two or three months i feel like it’s been touched here and there but Well it’s been like a main Yeah well a couple of topics of conversation but Kevin Durant obviously now being at the epicenter of the trade of this trade deadline of the fact that the Houston Rockets have been at the center of these talks number one two or three in terms of a chance of getting Kevin Durant these rumors have been rampant since the last time at least you and DJ were on now talks are accelerating with rumors coming out every single day with different pieces across the board let’s break this down now gm the Houston Rockets and the possibility of getting a Kevin Durant where do you stand in terms of the recent talk the recent rumors the recent reports and what what’s been your overall outlook on the landscape right now i mean I feel like that there’s a lot of uh there’s a lot of false information being placed out there courtesy of the media and I’ll definitely give that to the Phoenix uh organization as well it looks like there’s a lot of rumors pertaining to certain offers that have been put onto the table and if there are certain offers that we’ve seen like the Minnesota one the Toronto one I feel like Phoenix would have already pulled the trigger so something smells a little fishy here and I don’t believe that the fishiness is from the sea it might be from the desert uh I it just seems like that the Phoenix Suns want a lot for a rental and I don’t believe Matt Ishbia understands the value that Durant really has currently because they are out of leverage and he’s trying to find ways to leverage better deals for his organization because he forced a trade to get Kevin Durant in the first place and Bradley Beal i mean the the organization is not in a good position i mean it was to my belief that the Minnesota Timberwolves were the favorites two weeks ago i can definitely give that information that I was told two weeks ago that Minnesota was ahead of the race and that there was a strong possibility that KD would end up over there and I mean and then what is it two days later is when we started to really see those Minnesota rumors really twirl and now it seems like other teams have thrown themselves in the hat minnesota might be withdrawing but the team that the macho man always said “The cream always rises to the top.” Oh yeah and it looks like your Houston Rockets are slowly creeping up to the top of the mountain top of the cream you know where the cream is floating up uh that might be the Houston Rockets and it’s it’s kind of crazy we’ve heard so many things that Jaylen Green’s on the table Jaylen Green’s off the table Jabari Smith’s on the table Jamari Smith’s off the table uh there’s a lot of things where they’re saying that the Rockets might be holding on to extra assets for Giannis who knows but what’s going on here is that Raphael Stone is playing a game of blink first you know like staring contest right it’s like who’s going to stare harder who’s going to blink and it seems like Raphael Stone isn’t prepared to blink and the the crazy thing the irony here is that we used to get so frustrated at how gunshy he was and now him being gunshy and sticking to his guns is working to our favor is working to our favor and it’s it’s crazy when you think about it it’s unbelievable and I mean Kenny like it the overall aspect it just it just feels like the longer we wait maybe the stronger the possibilities of him coming to Houston barring a Godfather offer from a team out of left field but Kenny like what what are you feeling well let’s take it back from the beginning in terms of Kevin Durant to where where he stands and to why the value is much lower than what you would initially think you know on the bar future Hall of Famer still averages 27 points a game high percentage he was he was 53% from the field 43% from three and I think like a high 80% free throw shooter super close to the 50 40 90 rule which is insane to think about at his age at age 36 turning 37 in September he’s literally like right there and you would think that that would be a higher you know higher leverage I guess or or you know higher value but that’s not the case because for one he’s going to enter the last year of his contract where he’s already making 54 million he’s on the decline whether you like people like to admit it or not which I’m you know I you know I can admit that as well like you know he’s going to be turning 37 he’s had injuries in the past even though he has played about 83% of his games the past two years which is very very good um 75 uh two years ago and 63 the year uh last just last year so he’s actually shown pretty decent overall health um but that’s the reason why the values kind of dropped in terms of Kevin Durant and his preferred destinations of teams um there’s a reason why he hasn’t gotten traded in Minnesota because Kevin Durant’s preferred destinations are from what we hear is you know San Antonio Houston U Miami as a possibility i think Miami is a leverage game in my opinion but what it means is that it takes away it takes away the offers of Minnesota and Phoenix and Isha but basically just trying to respect this future Hall of Famer and what he wants it must be healthy dialogue that they’re having at this point why they haven’t pulled the trigger on a trade um the Minnesota offer if if it’s what’s rumored it’s more than enough in my opinion to get the deal done but there’s a reason why they haven’t pulled the trigger they’re respecting Kevin Durant so that’s point A in terms of his value so the value instantly drops in that sense ishiba look when you’re sell look it’s the equivalent of when you’re selling a car when you’re selling anything you want to sell it high i mean obviously you want to make as much money or of your investment back as possible what does that mean for the Houston what does that mean towards the Houston Rockets ishipa wants his picks back that’s what he wants he wants those Phoenix picks back he wants all of them but unfortunately with what I said earlier and the value being so low and the overall landscape of the trade market not being super high if you take into account as well his preferred destinations it doesn’t bode well for Phoenix to get exactly what they want so every day that passes this proverbial trade deadline as we inch closer to the draft if you’re really if they’re really at that point i think it’s next Thursday for the NBA draft i think next Wednesday next Wednesday so we’re literally 7 days away from today yep so they’re on a they’re on a deadline right now because they want they want to get a well according to reports they want a young player they want a young player from this draft that they can kind of mold and and mold around Devin Booker along with some along with like a veter that can ultimately help this team if they really want that and they want that opportunity they’re playing against the clock right now each second that passes the value is going to increasingly get lower as per the reports of of certain reporters that have said “Oh you know there’s a chance that by the time this trade is done you’re the the offers are just going to look like the final trade is just not going to look good right it’s going to look bleak.” With that being said GM with the offers looking bleak right now Jaylen Green like you said Jabari Smith being tossed around there are certain offers that we would believe that could be on the table for a Kevin Durant what in your opinion would be the most feasible offer that the Rockets or what do you think is currently on the table right now for this Houston Rockets team to trade for Kevin Durant what do you think the offers could possibly maybe be i don’t know i mean it it based on reports that we’ve seen publicly it says that Jabari Smith and Jaylen Green are off and that just seems like an impossible task i was doing the math earlier and it seemed like if we were to add in guys like Dylan Tari Cam uh Jock Landale Aaron Holidayiday that only gets you to 43 million i don’t think that’s enough i think we got to get to 47 maybe 45 but who knows i mean that I feel like would be a deal that the Rockets might potentially want to do as they do want to keep Jabari Jaylen even Reed Shepard to an extent but it would also completely deplete the roster we’d have to fill them with a bunch of minimal players so I don’t know i I I feel like what is going on here is I think that Phoenix values one of the two guys either Jaylen Green or Jabari Smith Jr and I apologize Kenny maybe even Reed Shepard we’ve seen Reed Shepard’s name sprinkled in there but in my opinion it feels like Phoenix is really valuing the game that Jabari Smith possesses and how he can help their offense but it makes sense it’s a that like that makes sense because I think the Jaylen Green was always kind of like well they’re Phoenix isn’t going to want to keep him yeah they got to reroute him there’s got to be a third team in this deal like there has to be no way because it’s redundant you got Bradley Bill you got Deon Booger you got Jaylen Green it’s like the [ __ ] like it’s pointless so that makes sense and I will say this on record i will officially say we’ve been saying this a lot off the record i will say this on the record jabari is my son i love that man with all my heart and soul uh you can go back to episodes in 2022 was fully advocated for him uh fully advocated for him i want this team to do whatever we can to keep him like I don’t think this is a trade that needs Jabari to get completed i want Jabari to learn from KD because ultimately that’s what you would want but I understand from Phoenix perspective I mean Jabari plays the same position as KD he can be not like not even they’re not the same player but they stretch the floor very similarly so I understand in that aspect I would go as far as to say the Houston Rockets can possibly according to what we’re hearing from the sources everything else the Rockets could get a deal done if you know they could they could get a deal done without Jabari on the table hypothetically I think they can i think they can get a deal done without Jabari on the table they’re going to have to include Atari they’re going to have to include possibly a Jaylen i need everyone to kind of understand like where this team is i They want They don’t want to trade the young core i get it i understand that you got to give up something guys yeah in order to get something good you got to give up something in order to get something good and this is a chance at getting a I know an over an over the hill quote unquote type player that is still performing at a very high level at 27 points per game at 50 53% shooting 43% from three high 80s in the free throw percentage continuing uh I think he is averaging four assists six rebounds like he is still very serviceable if you insert you know this player Kevin Durant into last year’s Rockets playoff team mhm they not only make it to the conference finals for a meeting with the Thunder but they give him a run for their money they could possibly have beaten them you just never know if you institute EA’s play style with KD with KD shooting with KD’s closers mentality you have a chance at beating OKC look there’s chinks in the armor of OKC they’re not a crazy dynasty like Denver pushed Denver uh Denver pushed the Was it was it Denver that faced OKC uh yes in the second round right so Denver pushed OKC minnesota you know was it M yeah Minnesota gave OKC a run for their money didn’t they get eliminated in five they got eliminated in five okay no but then didn’t didn’t the player get injured i’m trying to run my percentages do it all this off top i don’t remember man it feels like that area of the playoffs was like totally forgotten because everyone was focused on Indie and New York yeah and that’s the thing like which is unfortunate right and then Alle Hallebertton as well getting hurt uh in in this NBA Finals it’s not as sexy and and and I’m not downplaying what OKC is i think they’re a fantastic team but it’s just going to show you what Kevin Durant’s full value is what he could provide what he could bring to this team i fully believe that the Rockets are I think the Rockets are closing in on the deal in my opinion I think they’re closing in on the deal i think by next week Kevin Durant is a Houston Rocket man that’s bold but also very uh very realistic yeah it just it just it it it really feels like that no matter what we do I really believe that Jabari is the piece that will make the deal happen and I think Phoenix is low-key holding out for him uh we’ve seen what has been reported and said i believe Kellyo said it last night on his podcast talking about Rafael Stone still believes in Jaylen Green and based on the little rumors that we have heard that absolutely is true and I mean they believe that there is a year five in which that’s where they believe that guards really explode onto the scene especially at his age and that’s where they really really find themselves and I understand that also the Rockets don’t want to give up Jaylen Green for someone that might leave in two years where by 25 Jaylen Green can be a you know who knows like a budding allstar they don’t want pie on their face uh Rafil Stone his guy is Jaylen Green and I I respect it there not might not be many people uh in the Rockets community that supports that decision after these playoffs it just it feels like everyone has given up on the guy and I understand that energy i mean we’ve all felt some kind of way considering how we flamed out in the first round it makes sense and I totally understand from an emotional standpoint but when it pertains to the long game when you add in a Kevin Durant with a Jaylen Green and Alprren Shenun and Amen Thompson other ancillary pieces can kind of revolve based on how the team you want to run and you know you’ll still have Fred Van Vleet there and whomever is left over from Jabari Tari Cam Whitmore Reed Shepard we still got Steven Adams like there’s a lot of good pieces still on this roster and Stone’s negotiating tactics considering that he doesn’t want to include certain guys i respect it cuz I mean if he included certain guys the deal would already be done and we don’t even know if P 10 is involved but if it were me I’d probably involved pick 10 just to get the deal through and give them the players that you know were just kind of like a poo poo platter of players right uh but at the end of the day we’re not at the table with Matt Ishpia and we don’t really see what’s going on behind the scenes all we can really go off of is rumors and innuendo right and I think kind of just understanding what Kevin Durant has also not just provided for what he could possibly provide like on the upswing and the upside of this team but also understanding it from Phoenix’s perspective and what they’re trying to also get so I I understand like that they’re going to try to play this play hard ball because they want to get that value back like I completely get that but where they stand now they’re just standing without a paddle however according to Sam Amik on their most recent report couple hours ago that they’re entering quote unquote phase two now I don’t know how much of this is smokescreen they’re entering phase two where they’re not caring as much about Durant’s destinations anymore and now they’re just trying to secure more value good luck this was to come to Phoenix this was reported 3 hours ago which case if you are entering phase two then why isn’t a deal with Minnesota done you know what I’m saying like that’s why I’m not buying it i’m not you know a lot of when you when these reports quote unquote come out they’re getting fed by sources who is the source is it Kevin Durant’s agent is it the Houston Rockets organization is it the Phoenix Suns organization is it Matt Isaba is it the GM of the Phoenix Suns like who is the one that’s feeding the that that are feeding these quote unquote sources sources like Sam Amik sources like Sham Shirania like these really famous uh reporters that you know you provide them these news and they’re going to provide the news but a lot of this is smokeokescreen i like where are they at exactly at this point i I think Phoenix is between a rock and a hard place they’re going to get what they’re going to get and they just can’t they can’t do anything about it i fully am with you on this 2GM i think to get the deal done I’m more than willing to include pick 10 i’m more than willing to include the 2027 pick as well o I don’t know about that i can give two first rounders as long Hang on hang on let me cook let me cook i’m letting you cook let me cook if Jaylen stays here Alpie stays here amen stays here jabari stays here you can you can throw your inciliary like you said your anciliary pieces back to them you can give him a Dylan Brooks you can give him an Aaron Holiday you can give him a Jock Londale do whatever you got to do to make these salaries match and you can get your two first round picks mhm essentially I I I I’m good with that no I I understand i understand you keep your core let me give you the other line of thinking we’re seeing rumors being posted online about San Antonio Spurs being interested in a certain guy in Milwaukee by the name of Giannis Sunkmpo and to my understanding there may be a reason why the Rocks might be holding out onto other picks because of the possibility of potentially bringing him in as well and if they do end up keeping those picks let’s say after 25 where they do end up trading all of Phoenix’s picks and maybe one or two of theirs in potential swaps or whatever whatever Milwaukee might be looking for that is something that the Rockets are probably keeping their eye on because Giannis is a top three player and wherever there’s smoke there’s fire and if there’s a little bit of smoke it is to my belief that Raphael Stone would probably hold out with whatever pieces he can keep in order to get his opportunity on pouncing on Giannis and I and I and I will add on to this by saying this in in terms of getting a Giannis or a Katie and or both and the subject we spoke about three episodes yeah literally a couple episodes ago but I and I want to tack on to that what you said because it’s very interesting i I will the only time you will ever see me do this in Summit history I will play devil’s advocate on my son Jabari Smith i will do it just once just once just once the only reason why you could possibly maybe look at trading Jabari my man’s getting to his contract year he’s gonna get paid yep he’s a very high value prospect brings a lot to the table he’s a nononsense attitude type guy not a complainer blueco collar guy people tend to forget Jabari came off the bench yep ever since he came back from his injury with no complaints nothing recorded not a single “Oh I should start.” or da da da like no diva this is the number three overall pick in the 2022 draft lunch pale blue collar let me put the hard hat on and let me just put me to work oh am I the sixth man play six man am I the eighth man okay that’s perfectly fine i’m the starting power forward let’s [ __ ] go do you need me to ride the bench in the fourth quarter okay perfectly fine i’ll do whatever i’ll still stand and cheer for my team like he does whatever you tell him to do and when you do that and you hit big shots and you’re good and you’re a good to great defender he’s going to command a lot of money true so for the Houston Rockets for Raphael Stone they have to take that into into consideration the man’s going to get paid you can’t what’s the terms in sports the Houston Astros have said this multiple times if you’re an Astros fan you can’t pay everybody it’s true who are you going to pay you paid Shangon you paid Jaylen Green you’re going to have to pay for Amen Thompson absolutely amen Thompson’s getting paid he’s gonna get max money he’s gonna get max money he’s gonna get max money let’s go ahead and you know let’s get that out of the fire that one’s gonna happen tari is going to get paid yep and we’re inching closer and and Jabari and Tari are from the same draft class they get one more year right so I’m not saying trade Jabari i would go on a limb and say trade one of them from that 2022 draft class no that’s that’s a fair whether it’s Jabari or Tari i’m not going to say I would prefer to trade Tari i just love Jabari jabari is just my boy so that’s what I’m saying i think that’s where the Rockets really need to consider the total value which I’m sure they are i’m sure they are that’s There’s a reason why Jabari and Tari were mentioned in talks like even in reports oh they’re off the table da da da there’s a reason why they were talked about i mean I can confidently say that Jabari Smith’s value in this market in today’s NBA is a lot higher than what most Rockets fans probably believe his value is perceived to be i can tell you confidently that NBA front offices probably see Jabari Smith Jr as a guy that if you were a team that’s on the fringe of competing he’s going to put you over the top your four year five year six Jabari Smith Jr is a piece that can help out a championship team and be an important piece and that’s why I want to keep him that’s if you ask me but I mean I get it you know like and it’s it’s tough it’s tough sailing in this world man kevin Durant’s getting paid way too much money and people are exploring the whole trade Fred thing i can definitely tell you that’s not happening fred Van Vlade is going nowhere just the thought of Jabari doing something though in another team just hurts my cold little heart but you’re right though you know let’s Yeah talk about that for Fred can we expand upon that just a little bit like Fred Fred Fred has to get paid to a degree too because he’s literally Well he’s the highest paid player currently he’s like 45 million if they accept the option it’s not going to be accepted he’s definitely going to accept an offer restructure yes like two to three years maybe like maybe three years 90 million maybe i don’t know but Jim there’s a reason why they haven’t accept but they haven’t moved on anything there’s a reason why waiting for right what are they waiting on they’re waiting to get Kevin Durant what and what is the deadline next week yeah uh June 28th next Saturday shouts to our mom mama May Bueno’s birthday woo happy birthday to mama and we’re celebrating Dex’s birthday woo dex is cannon in the uh Summit verse what what but uh yeah because like what and what Fred provides too in that sense this isn’t a Fred Van Vleet focused episode but I want Fred on this team if KD when KD or if KD comes i want Well I can tell you KD probably wants to play with Fred Van well guaranteed dude guaranteed because you I think KD not that he doesn’t trust the youth he wants to play with the young guys obvious we’re preferred Destination there’s a reason why I prefer Destination he works out with Shangon and Jaylen we’ve talked about that at length this during this uh these recent episodes he wants to play with Fred he wants to lean on vets to be like “All right well if I can’t hit the Because when KD was his most successful I’m not comparing this by any means he got he had Steph Curry who was a playoff performer yeah who is one who’s the greatest the most lethal shooter in NBA history hurts my heart to say it it’s true fred Van Vleet is a playoff performer kd playing with a Fred Van Vleet in the playoffs i don’t know about in the season he could be pedestrian as [ __ ] but in the playoffs Fred earned his cash this past season so just imagine putting KD next to a Fred Van Vleet who can hit the big time shots when they’re doubling KD yeah he’ll get flashes of those moments where he can pass it to Fred and Fred can hit a big shot which would ultimately open the floor for a Jaylen Green or Alberin Shenun and then Tom’s just salivating at the thought of what this team can do if they can keep just just a good amount of this core together even if they can’t keep Jaylen but if they can keep that core together and retain Fred that is something that can ultimately spark write home about for sure dude absolutely and what this team can can ultimately bring gm Kevin Durant right now at 54 million i made a post oh yeah I made a post and we’ve tal The funny thing is that these people are just recently discovering this as if you haven’t you can tell the people that listen to Sum and don’t listen are the few in the crowd that listen it’s me he mentioned it two episodes ago i I’ve actually mentioned it multiple I think I mentioned at least two or three times yes so I did mention in a tweet uh that the acquisition of getting a Kevin Durant is very similar to the 2017 when the Houston Astros acquired Justin Verlander uh we have the platform so I can actually expand upon this and you guys have no choice but to listen sorry guys sorry guys listen to my listen to my scroll god reason number one arm bar hold number two hold number two what is it arm bar the Saskatchewan Sunny Bin um reason being guys and I’ll break it down because I got so much love for it this past this past uh tweet um depends on your definition of love i’m speaking facitiously by the way uhhuh but um basically what it was is that you have this young core hearkening back to the 2015 Houston Astros that got to the ALDS and were very close they could have closed it in four uh Charles Koreah flubbed a play at shortstop and ultimately that led to their demise against Kansas City Royals reminds me very reminiscent of the Houston Rockets pushing it to a game seven against Golden State mhm super close to getting over the top didn’t have a closer choked their game very similar in that sense the core in my opinion you don’t have a Jose Altuve on the team i’m going to be perfectly clear i’m understanding of that there’s not a Jose Altuve on the team no there’s not he’s a goat he’s on your Mount Rushmore of Houston sports could be other people yeah there could possibly be other people but as of now it’s not it’s not uh it’s not non-existent on the Houston Rockets team however though I will say this what Kevin Durant provides for this team is exactly what Justin It’s so funny too because Justin Viller had come come off an injury the year before so people are already saying like “Oh he was perfectly discounting him.” Yeah people were discounting i remember people were talking about Okay Astros fans are listening again welcome to a little bit of Beyond the Diamond you’re welcome all right so Daz why are we trading Daz Cameron he’s a big- time prospect why are we tra It’s not the same it’s Apple it’s apples to oranges in terms of the prospects because there there’s a AAA system there’s no AAA system in the NBA there’s a G-League but it’s just it’s not the same you send G- League players completely different thing they’re talking about trading the young core you tend to forget that there’s nine players on a team in baseball one player leaving doesn’t really move the needle too much for them they’re talking so much about wanting to keep the entirety of this jump court don’t trade Jaylen Green don’t trade Jabari Smith don’t trade this guy don’t trade that guy well then who the [ __ ] are we going to trade realistically and then people are saying “Don’t trade at all.” Okay well you don’t want to trade all so you don’t want a feature Hall of Famer that averages 27 points a game yeah he b it basically helps us where we were terrible at last year right so so many people have commented on my post and basically saying “Don’t do the trade uh quit now um delete this post dog.” Uh with no substantial evidence as to why they think they shouldn’t get Kevin Durant that’s why there’s like no substance and people have tried and I get it people are saying like “You don’t want to give up the uncore?” Oh but at what cost i never said in that tweet to trade the form like yeah trade the form i literally tweeted right after saying hey just to make this perfectly clear I did not say trade the farm just go get Kevin Durant that’s all I said i just said hey do what you got to do to get Kevin Durant i didn’t say at the expense of the farm i didn’t say at the expense of the core but if you are going to get a player of this caliber you have to get rid of at least one really good prospect of the core 7 yep not core five not core four the core 7 people are already like “Oh I don’t know if I want to trade Cam Whitmore.” I’m like “Brother you’re going to have to get rid of somebody what do the heck do you want like Phoenix is going to take a bag of chips in a handshake this doesn’t work that way.” Apparently a lot of people don’t believe in the salary cap and the CBA and about how you have to match salaries cuz people I’ve seen a lot of poo poo platter offers i mean but it’s not their fault i understand like not every there’s a lot of uh what’s the word there’s a lot of casuals no offense to anybody that watched the episode i mean it’s just watches the show sorry about cap gymnastics when it comes to the CBA and the first or second apron not many people really dig deep and understand that so I get it i’m not the kind of person to ridicule anyone for not having that knowledge it’s It’s not for everybody uh some people just like to see the product in the court and figure it out later so I get it i mean we’ve seen a lot of people love or hate it talk about that thing and about that specific deal with JV and then equating it to KD and I mean you know I get it i think it’s a I think it’s a great analogy and I think it does make sense the how it’s so synonymous with 2015 to 2025 and then maybe it will be 2020 maybe not next year maybe 2027 would be similar to 2017 who knows right but I think that there is something there like we stated where there is smoke there is fire and that is definitely something that Rockets fans could get excited about or be against but I just don’t think that it’s possible to keep the core seven no it’s notense well you can’t not gonna happen yeah and I don’t want to go back into it by rewinding all this episode where it says go we can’t pay everybody cuz we really can’t it’s not true so yeah I mean it is true sorry my bad yeah like you can’t pay you can’t pay everybody so like I get that and hey I appreciate the fact that you think it’s a good analogy thank you i appreciate that thank you so did our friend Brad thank you Brad literally commented on my post thank you it’s It’s like I got to like pay this dude to comment on my post it’s ridiculous shout out Brad shout out Brad i’m just kidding that’s our That’s our homie that’s literally our voice so I appreciate it thank you thank you but um GM uh let’s get ready to go home here actually so you know basically we’re going to keep following this process right now we’re going to keep following Kevin Durant and as soon guys we have we are so committed to this our studio is not well not close to me i am so committed to this [ __ ] that as soon as a trade breaks I will get on front of a camera if he’s traded to Houston if he’s traded to Houston by the way yeah yeah make it clear straight to Houston get in on front of a mic to talk about this as soon as possible our live reaction if if crossing our fingers if it happens but we’re just glad that we’re able to kind of just at least sit down kind of break down the talks as to why it’s it’s feasible for Kevin Durant to come to Houston as well as the possibility of him and what he provides for the team and why the Rockets really should consider highly about making this trade but understanding that the Rockets have all the leverage in this scenario they don’t really need KD but it’d be really nice to hang your hat on a future Hall of Famer one of the greatest arguably one of the greatest players in NBA history one of the greatest [ __ ] the original the OG I mean one of the OG unicorns really if you think about it at seven feet tall being able to dribble shoot the ball the way you did so I’m crossing my fingers Kevin Durant becomes a rocket jm let’s get ready to go home here before we do before we I give you the sign off the Before I give you the signoff key on everything uh drop a ad one time for our homies at Jarm what yeah everyone make sure to go visit JBRM Barbecue minutes from Toyota Center home of the best brunch in Htown home of 1. We can't give them Tari Eason. The Eason/Thompson combination is too good to give up on. Pick 10 + Jalen and Jabari and maybe a future pick is all I would sacrifice.
    Young Core + Effective Vets
    1.Amen/Reed
    2.Eason/Whitmore
    3.Durant/Brooks
    4.Sengun
    5.Adams

We need more 3 and D wings, a shot blocking center and of course some multi- talented glue guys to fill out the roster. Maybe bring back another shorty in VanVleet.
No way I'm gutting the roster for Yanis.
    Go Rockets!

  2. If it takes Jabari or Reed I would pass.

Seems like we can get a third team involved, give up Dillon, picks and sign and trade filler to get the deal done.

And agree that KD could teach Jabari a lot.

  3. Okay, some thoughts on the KD to Houston deal. 1) KD is going to be 37 (in Sept I think) and then we will have to pay him after this year (he will be 38/39 and will cost ~$120 mil). We also have to pay our remaining young core at the same time. 2) Phoenix made their bed, now they need to lie in it. Same way we did after Harden. In other words, we don't need KD, standing pat is fine for us and the market is dry for KD. We shouldn't make the error of bidding against ourselves. Nor should we make any overly generous offers. 3) I hate to say this but KD has never moved the needle anywhere but GSW and that team already had Steph, Green and Klay. He failed with OKC (had Harden, Westbrook and Ibaka there), he failed with Brooklyn and now he has failed with Phoenix. Do we think he is really going to be the piece that gets us a title? 4) All of the successful teams in the modern NBA have built through the draft. I think the Rockets should stand pat and make their 10 pick and go on about their business 5) KD has a bad attitude and he brings drama, we don't need that at all. 6) When is Houston going to get tired of bringing in aging players? Been there, done that, no thanks! Hard pass on KD, next topic. Coward at 10? 🙂

  4. Please talk about Fred stats if he is sooooo good! He is the worse player in the starting line up and if you wanted to upgrade the team that would be the best position to upgrade. Maybe a trade for Darious Garland which would be a huge upgrade.
