according to reports the 76ers have been engaged in trade talks with the San Antonio Spurs to move up from number three to number two in the 2025 NBA draft presumably to draft Dylan Harper the star guard out of Ruckers and I’ve seen some Sixers fans split on this decision but to me it’s a no-brainer and I’m as big of an Ace Bailey guy as there is out there if the Sixers stay at number three I think they should take Ace but Dylan Harper is just such a better prospect than anybody else in this draft not named Cooper Flag with his ability as a primary ball handler as a playmaker his ability to get to the rim finish through contact draw fouls with with an improving shot and tools defensively i think he fits perfectly on the 76ers team allows Tyrese Maxi to play a little more off the ball and focus solely on scoring not so much on playmaking and with Grimes with McCain you have one of the best guard rotations in the NBA for years to come

Think about it if Paul George fall flat this season and I honestly don’t think he will. But if he does, then you look to trade him in your two and you can get your forward and you may even see him fall flat by trade deadline February 2026 if so, you trade them you can get your forward. There’s plenty of them out there. You might even get Cam Johnson if you work it right if it should ever be necessary. I think Yabba is gone so you’re gonna need a power forward, Justin Edwards is looking like he could be a starter. That could be our three.

Or call San Antonio bluff and make them take Tre 2nd as rumors is they are enamored with his shooting, scoring ability and potential especially as a fit right alongside Wemby and Castle. You simply can’t double off Trey onto Wemby when Wemby got the ball at the foul line area, and Trey is where the 3pt line bends from corner as Trey is nearly automatic on open catch and shoots.
Harper measured same size Jalen Williams did who started at PF a lot even in Finals for OKC.
Grimes can and has played SF too. Plus on offense we know Maxey and McCain are better scorers whereas Harper is a natural playmaker with the size and athleticism to guard 1-3.
We could easily play Harper with Maxey and McCain/Grimes on court at the same time, the way OKC plays SGA, Wallace, and Dort/Caruso who are all 6’4” barefoot or shorter.
Matter of fact Nurse stayed playing Eric Gordon at SF alongside like Lowry and Maxey.
Getting Harper is an absolute no brainer. The gap between him and the third best player (who isn't ace bailey anyways), is such a massive gap.

Sixers are desperate for Harper and will have to overpay to make sure no team trades with the Spurs in order to leapfrog over the Sixers to take Harper.
Personally, I believe the Spurs are going to trade Pick #2 b/c they will get more out of the trade than taking Harper, who may be great or maybe just an all-star w/o being an all time great.
