New Orleans Pelicans Trade For Mojave King My Thoughts!!
yo what’s going on guys this Houston Sports Talk back in the video today and today the New Orleans Pelicans have traded for Mojave King Mojave King was a 47th overall pick for the Los Angeles Lakers in 2023 NBA draft He has never played in the NBA but the Indiana Pacers do own his draft rights and they are trading his draft rights and pick number 23 to get their 2026 first round pick back If you’re wondering why is Indianapolis maybe doing this they are doing this um well number one to get their draft pick back for next year If you’re thinking okay maybe they’re planning on not being good next year Uh one of the reasons why they are doing this is this does clear $3.2 million in the books for next season And that definitely can help them make it easier to resign Miles Turner this off season And that is the big goal for the Indiana Pacers in the offseason And even if you look at it they’re at pick 23 in this year’s draft That pick 23 shouldn’t be much different than the than their draft pick next year And you look at it you know and and the Pacers right now um at pick 23 next season this year they were at the four seed Next season honestly right now I would look at them as a team that probably be the three seed I think Boston is a team that Boston is a team that I think will you know get outside of the top four with losing Jason Tatum and you know looking like they’re going to trade pieces away like Drew Holiday Sam Hower and and Chris Porzingis So I think the Celtics are going to get worse next season The Pacers should jump them and be the three seed I still look at the Cavs and Knicks as potentially the the one and two seeds in the Eastern Conference and then the Pacers right there at the three seed So their draft pick should be around the same next year’s draft in 2026 as it was this year And um at 23 So I think for the Pacers what you’re trying to do is you know make the make it easier to resign Miles Turner and that does it And maybe things don’t go well for you next season You never know And I think right now it’d be good to have that 2026 first round pick next year just in case You never know But let’s talk about Mojave King because that’s who I want to talk about This is the guy the draft rights that that the the Pelicans are getting So Pelicans fans meet your newest player even though he might not actually ever play for you guys So Mojave King he’s 23 years old was born June 11th 2002 So he’s about to turn 24 And he was a second round pick in 2023 to the Los Angeles Lakers 47th overall He is a shooting guard and he is from New Zealand Uh he actually played against three NBA teams this preseason uh for the New Zealand Breakers The New Zealand Breakers played a total of three different NBA teams They played the Utah Jazz the Philadelphia 76ers and the Oklahoma City Thunder this preseason And against the Jazz in the first game he went 4 for12 with 11 points and um you know was 3 for nine for three The second game he played 28 minutes against the 76ers Shot 4 for8 three for seven from three with 15 points two assists and one block And then in the third game against the Oklahoma City Thunder he had 23 minutes 5 for 10 from the floor 5 for9 from three So a solid three-point shooter 16 points and five rebounds in that game Now with the New Zealand with with New Zealand this year um and their their other games he played 17 games 20 minutes per game 43% from the floor 33% from three on four attempts per game nine points per game two rebounds per game This is the most he played uh this is the most this year was the most he played with you know with you know when he’s been playing in the Euros this you know he played in the 2122 season the 2021 season and did not play as much as he did this year so got more playing time this year Um so honestly I don’t know if he’s a guy that will ever play for the New Orleans Pelicans I would lean towards no Uh but you know he he is a guy that is a solid player but um I wouldn’t look too much into this uh addition for the New Orleans Pelicans But um you know did do solid in in the couple preseason NBA games he played uh against the Thunder Sixers and uh it was the Thunder Sixers and Jazz that those three games he played pretty solid Let me know your thoughts on the addition for the Pelicans the pick 23 and Mojave King for the 2026 first round pick next year Let me know your thoughts on the trade in the comment section and peace out
