did Stephen A go too far about his comments about Memphis he told the truth i mean Memphis is cool for certain people but like for others like it ain’t everywhere a little dangerous though no it ain’t as dangerous as Memphis the city is ravaged by gun violence people dying daily in Memphis i would not have want to played there as an NBA player i didn’t feel safe even though I ventured out in certain things but certain environments I did not feel safe not to say that the the the people of Memphis are bad people as the old saying go a few bad apples can ruin the whole bunch right i don’t know i’d rather go to Well they should move it to Nashville then that’s what I’ve been talking about that’s my point exactly you can keep it in a state

I was raised in Memphis, went to college in Memphis. Never – once – have I been close to gunshots, muggings, hell crime in general. I’m not dumb, I know it’s there. Truth of the matter is, you won’t find any of these issues if you don’t go looking for it. Of course I wouldn’t go willy nilly to frayser/north Memphis, south Memphis, etc. at night for no reason at all. But the colleges are smack dead in midtown (mostly). The only HBCU there is in south Memphis. Used to be in the area a lot – no issues. I say all this to say, Memphis gets a bad rap and it’s the city’s fault sure. But it’s no where near how bad these people online and in the comments are saying. Theres a lot of good in Memphis if you actually try to find it
