yo what’s going on guys Crispy Flakes here NBA trade season is upon us as the Orlando Magic Jake gave up quite a bit to acquire Mr T-Rex arms Desmond Bane from the Memphis Grizzlies Guys as you can see on the uh screen in front of you the Magic are getting Desmond Bane The Grizzlies are getting KCP former Detroit Piston Uh Cole Anthony four unprotected first round draft picks and a one first round pick swap So you know like like like like right off the bat um this trade kind of screams rebuild at me from the Memphis Grizzlies which is crazy because they have 48 wins last season Um but at the same time you know you you you look at KCP you look at Cole Anthony and like combined it’s it’s pretty much Desmond Bane right You know a solid defense Uh you get the scoring with Cole Anthony you know I don’t know It’s just like 3 and D but then you add Cole Anthony and it’s like mid-level score You know what I’m saying man So uh I think in a way it it it keeps the Grizzlies competitive Obviously the team is built around John Morant but it also kind of sets them up for like you know we got these picks here too which like I said I don’t know if that’s indicating you know future rebuild or if it’s indicating future blockbuster trade I don’t really know who they would go for at this point Please don’t go for Paul George somebody like that man y’all don’t need Paul George bro On the Grizzlies okay man it’s okay He ain’t that type of player anymore Um and you look at the magic side of things and you know Desmond Bane like to me he is this era’s Chris Middleton you know and I think that they gave up quite a bit to acquire him but at the same time you know Cole Anthony was kind of kind of the odd man out when it comes to the point guard rotation They already have Suggs they have Anthony Black who they drafted a few seasons ago So I mean like Cole Anthony’s been around there for a while He’s only 24 though And uh I don’t know man I I think it was a choice that needed to be made Uh I do know that the Magic for some time have had to kind of consolidate consolidate that guard position and everything So I I I do understand it And then you know Paulo Bancer he gets this Chris Middleton and Desmond Bane you know man like he gets an efficient third option on a championship team sometimes plays like a second option and every once in a while when you need him he’ll be that first option right man but pretty much his role in this team will be a third option to the likes of Ban Carol and obviously you know Fran Vagner who is a great fantastic player for this Magic team um overall you’re looking at a lineup of probably Suggs Desmond France Paulo and maybe Wendo Carter at the center position although I I I don’t know if I would uh be against them you know maybe going for a different type of center come free agency now this is just how they run it That is completely fine right man That is completely fine So let’s go ahead and pull up the uh you know the roster here for both teams and just kind of see what these players have been doing this season or this prior season I should say Uh by the way while we’re at what you all think of the NBA finals you know have you been enjoying it or have you been you know maybe playing some solitire during the games I get a lot of Stephen A Smith barrel I I do work at my old school Runescape you know mining level and I’ll be chop chopping magic trees and stuff during the game So I get it I also don’t get paid $20 million you know talk about basketball bro But I don’t know It’s whatever man So yeah Um this prior season uh we got Cole Anthony you know kind like he’s in the rotation but he’s only playing 18 minutes a game I just kind of want to look at what he’s done seasons past I think that would kind of give us a good indication of maybe what type of player you know the Grizzlies will be getting and everything So you would probably say this has been his worst season you know efficiency wise and everything And it’s just I I see it you know go back to that sophomore season where he averaging 16 a game five rebounds six assists like he’s a good quality player Um at the same time like I don’t really know how he fits into the lineup of the Grizzlies Like he’s probably going to still be a backup right Or do you think they’re going to go ahead and run him in the back court with John I feel like they could get away with that Uh but I don’t know if it’s necessarily ideal But I said this ain’t some old head player Like they’re they’re getting a good quality scoreer here maybe a poor man’s uh Patty Mills you might say Something along those lines So it’s interesting It’s not like they’re getting a nobody on the squad He’s fine Uh and then KCP you know KCP obviously has championship experience with the Los Angeles Lakers which obviously make him go a long way in the Western Conference with it being so deep Uh 65 player So what’s he been doing the past season you know eight points per game two rebounds playing some defense knocking down some three-point shots He’s probably in the starting lineup He probably replaces Desmond Bay in the starting lineup which in my opinion like his play style is pretty similar Um more emphasis on the three and the D than maybe some of the other scoring abilities that Desmond Bane hands has and whatnot man So yeah Uh you get all them draft picks which they could be bad or they could be good It’s not like it’s not like the Brooklyn Nets trading away their entire future for you know a 39year-old Kevin Garnett Um they are uh you know the Magic are still getting some you know a good quality player in Desmond Bane and the Memphis Grizzlies are obviously getting those draft picks So it’s like I don’t think they’re going to be extremely valuable I do think the Magic are going to be pretty good Like I said though man it’s it’s insane that this Grizzlies team they’re kind of pointing a direction to rebuild after nearly getting 50 wins Uh and then the Magic were like the seven seed at a 500 record So I think this definitely elevates them to a top four seed in the Eastern Conference Um let’s go ahead and you know pull up Desmond Bane while we’re at it Kind of see what he’s been doing on Well where we at man Oh yeah Please He’s going to be on the Memphis Grizzlies You know maybe also get a good idea of what this Grizzlies team will be looking like going forward I don’t know man Do you all think it’s a backwards move or do you think it was a good quality move here man So looking at Desmond Bane let’s go I mean it kind of opens up some things for Luke Canard obviously So Desmond uh this past season was the third you know lean scorer on this Grizzly squad like I said he’s kind of more of your third option type of player at 19 points six rebounds five assists Solid playmaker the playmaking of the Magic’s going to be crazy you know and and and Suggs kind of is more of a defensive oriented type of point guard So I think having the ability to have somebody like Desmond Bane in the back court with him is going to help him a lot Obviously France can make plays you know Apollo can make plays So I really think the ball movement on the team uh is going to be exceptional So yeah what’s also see what he’s been doing the past few seasons as well man So yeah 26 uh years of age That’s the same age as Cole Anthony Or was it was Anthony 24 I forgot man Uh but yeah so was he never been an all-star I could have swore he was an All-Star 2024 season Damn he baldled out but man that was also the season that John Bar um was out for pretty much the entire season for off-c court stuff going on And they also only won 24 games which is kind of back to the point of if you expect them to come on the team be number one option you’re going to win 24 games if you expect him to come on this team and be a third option you’re going to win close to 50 games And I think it’s going to be a lot of that with Mr Desmond Bane But what the NBA offseason and what type of trades are going to be happening Uh I think when it comes down to it like does this increase Kevin Durant’s trade value I mean once again you you do have to consider age like Kevin Durant is a billion years old He’s on an expiring deal He only has like three teams that he wants to go to Um so it’s like I would not give up four unprotected picks to get Kevin Durant for maybe one season as opposed to getting Desmond Bane which I don’t really know what his contract situation is We can pull that up here man Uh here What’s What’s his 36 Okay Yeah Yeah he’s Chris Middleton He is definitely Chris Middleton type Uh where is that contract at Okay So he signed an extension Okay So he’s getting paid through the 2029 season So they got this man locked down bro So I mean that’s not like a horrible contract all things considered if you can stay healthy and be a big part of the rotation and everything man So I like it I I feel like the the Magic are definitely kind of building in a Milwaukee Bucks type of way I suppose Like Paulo Bancero is is is Giannis Uh Jaylen Suggs is Drew Holiday and then Desmond Bane is Chris Middleton And uh I don’t know man also like obviously Yiannis is the top player of all time but I I really like Paulo Vanco I still think the perfect comparison for him is like the 2019 Blake Griffin with a little bit of Clippers Blake Griffin
