so could the Boston Celtics be trading away Jaylen Brown to the San Antonio Spurs this 2025 NBA off seasonason well here on the screen is a trade proposal or a trade idea from msn.com the link to this article is down below in case you want to go ahead and check it out for yourself but this trade would see the Boston Celtics receiving Devin Vel Harrison Barnes Malachi Brainham the second overall draft pick a 2028 first from Boston and a 2031 first round pick swap with either the Kings or the Spurs and the San Antonio Spurs receiving Jaylen Brown so in my personal opinion if the Spurs are going to be moving on from the second overall draft which all signs point towards them probably just keeping it at the end of the day then I think a player like Jaylen Brown makes a lot more sense than an older player like Kevin Durant now you can make the argument that Kevin Durant or Jaylen Brown doesn’t really matter which one uh it kind of makes this team better in the short term and maybe makes the Spurs championship favorites next year but if I’m still betting on the long term of this franchise and you know seeing uh this duo of Victor Wanyama and De’aran Fox play itself out I would rather bank on a younger talent like Jaylen Brown uh who has championship experience who kind of fits the timeline a little bit better than a Kevin Durant that makes a little bit more sense in my opinion in that perspective now he would be giving up quite a bit in this deal like Devin Vel good young player Harrison Barnes good veteran uh Brainham you know same idea there the second overall draft pick so uh getting back like a Dylan or you know not being able to sort of retain a Dylan Harper for instance would be probably a bit of a deal breakaker for me in my opinion now if they were to somehow make this deal and not include the second overall draft pick and you’re getting Jaylen Brown as well yeah this would be an amazing trade for the Spurs to make but if you’re the Boston Celtics I definitely understand their perspective of them wanting to maybe get rid of uh some of their star players especially with Tatum missing most of the year next year with his injury if not the entirety of the year and with this team being on a really high payroll getting rid of cap space getting back a good young player in return and getting a little bit deeper in the process this could be you know a pretty awesome win uh for the Celtics at the end of the day in my opinion so a pretty intriguing trade trade if I had to pick a winner of this deal I would actually probably side with the Celtics in my personal opinion but as always leave your thoughts
