Stephen A. says Tyrese Haliburton gave Pacers exactly what they needed in Game 6 | NBA Countdown

and Stephen A this is why we cover this sport for games like this for teams like this who can punch one more time and force the two best words in sport it’s special coming into the series you knew that Indiana was being underestimated a lot of people favored OKC myself included but I expected a thriller i expected a series and Indiana answered the call they show up game six tonight they were ready to ball nemhar got things started pascal Seiakum was aggressive and then Tyrese Hallebertton the injured one who nobody expected but so much from answered the call i thought he was stellar tonight no question he gave them exactly the punch the oomph that they needed and the team collectively responded in kind okc’s defense was nowhere to be found nobody outside of Shay and Jaylen showed up it was like it was a no show for the rest of the team and now we’ve got a game seven but because of it it’s anybody’s game right now as far as I’m concerned and huge for Tyrese Hallebertton he only had to play 23 minutes in this game to preserve him now for a win or take all one game every you know and you know in game seven he’s going to put it all he probably will even push harder and further cuz he knows there’s nothing after that and he gave him what he needed to give him and and I’m shocked i’m really surprised that Oklahoma City didn’t capitalize at least make it a game this was not a game halfway through the second quarter halfway through the second quarter and you do not want to give away games in the finals they already gave away game one they didn’t show up here tonight look they’re going back home and they earned that they had the best record in the league they earned that game seven at home but like Steph said you don’t want to mess around with game sevens i’ve been a part of those it doesn’t always go the way it’s supposed to go actually the anniversary Bob of maybe a game seven not going the way that you thought it was going to go but I just we got to pause for one second Perk i want to hear what you have to say about this game but this is the last time that these Indiana fans are going to see their team at home look at the pride showing up for their team i mean this is the basketball state rick Carile said it in 49 other states it’s just basketball but in Indiana it feels different i know that this team it meant so much to do this to extend their season for these folks as well well absolutely and the the energy inside this building was electrifying from top to bottom no no no lie phenomenal environment here’s the thing let me say this shout out to Tyrese Hallebertton for gutting it out but the heroes of tonight’s game was TJ McConnell and uh OB Toppin when they came in off the bench and provided that spark and did what they needed to do on both ends of the floor cuz Bob you and I was talking we kept saying “Miles Turner what you going to do now miles Turner what you going to do?” And all of a sudden OB Topper come in two big threes they look like they couldn’t stop TJ McConnell here’s the thing the Oklahoma City Thunder got pumped tonight okay all across the board beat on the 50/50 balls the rebounds everything they got pumped and here’s what you need to know that’s why game seven is a pickup it’s not a foregone conclusion this is going to be OKC jub after a 40point performance was a minus 40 tonight regular season postseason career low for grab we got for game seven i’m worried about game seven is going to be a thriller i’m worried about the noise volume in Oklahoma City for game seven it’s going to come be a thriller

NBA Countdown’s Malika Andrews, Stephen A. Smith, Bob Myers and Kendrick Perkins react to the Indiana Pacers’ 108-91 win in Game 6 to even up the NBA Finals at 3-3 with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

  1. They keep talking haliburton but TJ, Nembhart and Obi who did the job… We can't keep ignoring how bad Turner is offensively in this series

  2. You guys should know. This is Las Vegas calls. Las Vegas calls all games they want to make money.
Just when you think OKC was gonna win the game. All the best was on OKC. That's why they had the news. Those people were better on OKC. You got it

  3. Dude had 14 points and 1 rebound, Haliburton is a joke and so is SAS's commentary on this game.

  4. Lets hope Game 7 isn't the usually cheap fouls calls for SGA and Jalen. Its weird how this team gets crazy FT attemps. Yet the previous OKC team didnt get nearly this many cheap calls every home game. Otherwise KD, Russ, Harden and Ibaka would've cleaned up. That team was more deserving a title than this OKC team.

  5. I've been saying since the beginning of the series that I had Pacers in 7. But I just don't feel right about Hali's injury. You can tell that he lacked a lot of lateral movement. TJ helping to maintain the pace really help set the tempo for the Pacers, as Hali had to switch more to a catch and shoot player it seemed. If TJ can keep this up via game 7, and the Pacers hit the shots like they did today, they have a chance. But if OKC figures out TJ, the pacers are cooked. And please don't let that calf injury turn into an AC tear.

  6. The referees shouldn't have the outcome of the game like they did in OKC

This will be the outcome of game 7

If you keep the referees out the game for all those flop calls
    Let them play!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. It is not in the script for Pacers to win game 7 at OKC. Not happening unless Pacers play so well that they also beat the dodgy calls.

  8. SAS and Perkins said OKC in 6.They both said that OKC had the best defense in the history of basketball. Now SAS said he expected a thriller😂😂😂.They both said SGA could not be stopped.Did anyone predict Indiana to be in the finals?SAS is the master of contradictions.

  9. That man Hali aint injured at all and Vegas is smiling. Game 7 makes sense! All the best to the NBA as a business. Nothing but love for them over there. Game 7 was a must! $$$

  10. been watching this type of garbage all my life & the team picked to win the series from the beginning ends up winning the series anyway wether it goes 7 or not people always fall for the banana in the tailpipe goofiness 🙄
