Stephen A. reacts to Game 5 👀 Haliburton was a NON-FACTOR for Pacers | NBA Countdown

as we welcome you back here to Paycom Center where we just saw I I believe Jaylen Williams truly arrive and announce himself stephen A this is the second career 40point game that he’s had and it couldn’t have come at a better time for OKC career high in the postseason for him he was absolutely spectacular he was getting to the basket at will his jumper was flowing he was aggressive he was looking for a shot all night long he was the number one option shake Yojis Alexander obviously helped him out wiggins and Wallace came off the bench in the first half helped them out and they were also helped by one of the most horrific performances we have seen from a starting point guard in an NBA finals that was bad in terms of Hallebertton he’s hurt that’s what they said we’re going to go with that but he was an absolute nonfactor on the offensive side of the ball for the Indiana Paces collaboration of all of those things coming together is why game six will be taking place in Indianapolis with the Pacers on the brink of elimination oh for six from Tyrese Hallebertton in this one and I think Doris put it perfectly perk I don’t know that there’s a bigger storyline going into this game six than the health of that leg yeah i mean and look if if he’s not if he’s not capable if he’s not going to go out there and be aggressive then don’t hurt your team by putting them out there on the floor should TJ McConnell have come back in earlier should TJ McConnell have come back in yes yes he was playing ex exceptional in that third quarter doing what they needed to do setting the tone bringing the tenacity and getting buckets you cannot afford against especially against this Oklahoma City Thunder team to have Tyrese Hallebertton on the floor bob playing the way he play but Bob Steven let me take y’all down memory lane a little bit malik you might be a little bit too young for this 1991 Scotty Pippen game five one of the all-time great performances from a number two option this is one of those ones that we just witnessed from Jaylen Williams tonight on the big stage he was special he put I put him up there for us all time great performances from a number two i I’m done doubting him you guys can do what you want i’m done i’m done i’m done i have doubted him i will be honest but I’ve been man enough to admit it um I’m done he’s This is not only the 40 it’s the efficiency of it he’s doing a lot of it by himself i mean he’s becoming a playmaker not just for himself but his teammates and by the way defensively he’s fantastic too so we’re watching the emergence of a guy that if not for Shay who’s the MVP you’d be talking about this guy as the best player on a lot of teams in the league to do what he did tonight and and Hallebertton I’m going to say there’s no way he’s healthy i’m not trying to There is no way he’s healthy because he’s better than what he played tonight and and you could see some hesitate i’m not going to use the word you used and but but he is hesitant he is hesitant and when you have a calf tightness you got to be careful with it perk you know the next thing that happens that here’s the reality he was bad but it could very well be because he’s unhealthy we can accept that i mean there’s no reason to believe that he would be this bad at 100% but nevertheless with TJ McConnell keeping them in this game and helping them come back and pulling to within two you got to know if you don’t have it you shouldn’t even want to be out there considering how he looks that’s tough cuz if you were him you you got to take it out of his hands because Okay that’s what I mean that’s what I mean look that’s what I mean then that’s that’s Carile that’s his assistance that’s somebody saying “Hey listen sit down.” Like we love that you want to play you had to do a lot of the curry sometime you got to get him ready for game six we know you want to play but we can’t can’t do it right now two things real quick as much credit and rightfully so that we give Rick Carlau rick Carlau somewhat cost him their game tonight with his substitution pattern like he should have kept TJ McConnell in there let me say that second of all let’s give Chad Holgre some more more more credit what he did defensively putting on the clinic was huge blocking altering every single shot that came in the paint you know what’s amazing with all that Malikica what was it three-point game in the fourth quarter that’s what I was going to say there was both within two there was a point that this felt like it had some some remnants of game one written on it maybe if Tyres Hallebertton had been healthy but that is where the Oklahoma City Thunder they stepped up in a different way it didn’t seem like they were taking it for granted uh rip to my 5-0 streak or 4-0 streak it was a good one while it lasted but that was the moment where I said “Okay maybe Indiana has something here.” But it was credit to the Thunder that’s when they really put their foot on the gas in in a way that I think shows how much they’ve matured well to me that’s where you go back to Jayla Williams because this brother just had the ball in his hands and remember you’re giving it to him he’s your point forward you want him to face the first line of defense because Shay Gilis Alexander looked worn down in game three and so you look at it from that standpoint and Jaylen Williams takes the ball in his hands he’s essentially jumpst starting the offense but was keeping the ball for himself keeping the rock because he knew he was feeling it he was in flow he was in rhythm he was being aggressive he was taken over and Indiana didn’t have an answer for it at all bob what did we say the magic number was again for Indiana 110 it’s that 110 i know i know i was thinking that too even if they got that 110 but look I’ll say this too 22 turnovers you can’t do it against So 22 turnovers for the Pacers seakum had a great game he had six turnovers hallebertton three near four can’t do it and if if Indiana wants to extend this for us to come back here for game seven they got to take care of the ball and and Hallebertton has to miraculously get better in three days and I have to agree with y’all jay Jay Dub every single time the Pacers was was making a run they cut it to two he did an outstanding job of getting to the free throw line he got to the free throw line 12 attempts tonight he was fantastic like all time great he was the best player in the game he was the best player in the game said that

NBA Countdown’s Malika Andrews, Stephen A. Smith, Bob Myers and Kendrick Perkins react to the Oklahoma City Thunder’s Game 5 win over the Indiana Pacers that featured Jalen Williams scoring a game-high 40 PTS and Tyrese Haliburton being limited to 4 PTS on 0-6 FG.

  1. So disappointed on Halliburton. Turnovers and missing shots just unbelievable
He should have on the bench
Pacers was catching up down only 2 points then He played and that is the end of the game

  2. They let OKC do a lot of traveling and SGA do a lot of pushing off with that left hand. I'm just saying.

  3. "playing thru injury" is SUCH a cop out. He is out there moving fine. They just giving him a cop out to save some face for the amount if embarrassing games this kid has played ALL POSTSEASON!!

Thats now 12 halves where he has scored 5 points or less THIS POSTSEASON.

I guess he was injured for all of em, then magically didnt inbetween them, then was again….I mean it makes no sense…

Stars dont have games like that. Overrated players do. & He wonders why he's labeled that. CUZ HE JUST IS!

  4. Halliburton is extremely overrated.
Plays way too timid and only talked about because of his clutch shots at the end of the game.
Guy was an absolute liability last night.
McConnell was going off and proceeded to sit most of the 4th qtr. Not sure what was going through the coaches mind.

  5. 🚨 Bob Myers KNOWS ALL ABOUT CALF INJURIES AND ACHILLES INJURIES, it happen to his SUPERSTAR KEVIN DURANT DURING THE 2019 NBA FINALS, and then Stephen A. Smith INTERRUPTED HIM, anticipating and not letting Bob Myers use the word “Achilles Injury”
