got the uh comma window up for a moment here on this edition of LTHR better known as Let’s Talk Houston Rockets TR how are you mr Big Texico how are you let’s get into it The first part of the show or the main part of tonight’s show is to talk a little bit more about Arizona freshman Carter Bryant Carter Bryant Uh Jonathan Gvone had him in his latest mock draft as of today had Carter Bryant going to the Rockets at number 10 But Jonathan also stated that a lot of NBA execs believe the Rockets will be busy the week of the draft and probably involves trading the 10th pick moving down etc for future assets or who knows But things going forward a little bit more from Carter Bryant First part of this is from the NBA draft guide courtesy of Rob Rehouser who I met years ago well a few years ago Uh he’s well actually know now I think about it years ago back when I was at KCH Houston radio and he’s been part of the NBA guide NBA draft process guide NBA lead scout for years years and he puts together the NBA draft guide for the media for the guys at ESPN or whoever’s calling the calling the draft and I’ve been I’ve kept in touch with him and so here’s some content about Carter Bryan courtesy of the NBA draft guide And it might be available to the fans too I’m not sure if it’s posted yet on NBA.com It might be but JK and TR no sweat about who’s first Y’all are part of the show part of the discussion It’s all good here in the family So just enjoy it Who knows okay All right You see that 81 in field goals made 37 games played his freshman year 81 field goals made 176 field goals attempted That’s not quite five attempts a game So he was not a big part of Arizona’s offense So keep that in mind So 41 free throws made 59 attempts 75% free throw shooter Not great 4.1 rebounds You know he’s not a huge scoreer Like I said he didn’t have to do a lot of Arizona and keep that in mind But here’s a note One of four 2000 2024 25 NCAA Division 1 freshman to have at least 150 rebounds 35 assists 35 blocks and 35 steels The others being Cooper Flag Maryland’s Derek Queen and Georgetown’s Thomas Sorber So that’s that’s kind of impressive there Think about it For especially for a guy who played about 17 minutes a game off the bench in his five starts averaged 6.8 rebounds and one block in those 17 minutes a game So Derek how are you doing appreciate you And it was kudos June 14th was the 35th anniversary of 007 Benny Johnson hitting that buzzer shot to win uh Detroit’s second championship We’ll get into that later on maybe wants to bring it up But it’s about Carter Bryant right now Carter Bryant ranked eighth in the Big 12 in blocks 1.25 blocks in those conference games Shot 50% from the floor and 38.6 six from three in Big 12 play made four or five from three-point range and tied his careerh high with 14 points against Iowa State Iowa State is one of the top defensive teams in the Big 12 and men’s college basketball Scored 14 points on five of five shooting from three from the field including three of three at Cincinnati Grabbed a career-high 11 rebounds at Kansas State So he has the capability to shoot and score Was not asked to do it a lot at Arizona but he has that potential when you are projecting forward for his NBA career So that’s what this is all about All about you think so you think it’s a 0% chance i don’t I say I disagree about a 0% chance But some of the stuff I’m going to discuss or mention to me it’s kind of like they already have this on their team So but that’s what this is for us to discuss Kick it around and chop it up and do what we do here on Let’s Talk Houston Rockets Strengths Rangy athletic forward who can make an impact at both ends of the court highly engaged disruptive and switchable defender Joseph how are you doing thank you for joining the discussion Appreciate to you as well Capable shooter with fluid mechanics and a high release shows flashes of shot creation and playmaking skills And that is courtesy of the NBA draft guide my colleagues at NBA draft Next from Sam Bassini at the athletic Few more details in the scouting report for young Mr Carter Bryant Great size at 66 and a half without shoes 611 and 3/4 wingspan JT Hind that’s her name JT How you doing man good to hear you Good to hear from you 810 standing reach See comicated See you and I on the same page I’ve talked about it before the first time we we kicked it around with regarding Carter Bryant Athletically has a good intersection of size and quickness Strong laterally has a chance to be an impact player on defense Plays with a motor has significant switchability has potential to generally guard one through four in NBA can slide his feet on defense also does a great job fighting over the top of screens Terrific defensive playmaker Overall team defense is a positive Few more strengths transitions well from defense to offense Clean release on his jump shot Now areas of for improvement Needs to quicken his shot release Tendency to drift to his left on his jumper Needs to develop shotmaking off movement Limited game off the bounce Not a strong finisher at the rim Not a great passer lacks passing instincts gamles too often defensively Summary: Brian profiles extremely well as a three and D player in the NBA He has great positional size for a wing and already has defensive chops He’s aggressive and a highlevel competitor who truly turns up the pressure on that end of the court He has terrific playmaking instincts to get into passing lanes and find weak side rim rotations He profiles as being quite switchable on defense and should be able to manage perimeter players By the time he gets even stronger in his early 20s he’ll also have no issues managing even fours So let me do this again I’m about to get to the NBA comparison that Vicini has for Carter Bryant and I’m curious I’m I’m looking forward to y’all’s reactions when I read his NBA comparison according to Sam Bassini the athletics NBA draft guru insider whatever you want to call it Okay here we go The key is finding a role on offense Vini is a bit skeptical of Carter’s overall game on offense but he thinks Carter is extremely likely to be a shooter which could result in him being something of a low usage player if the ball handling and passing acumen never totally come along However Carter Bryant is the kind of player who would still be valuable if he has to be guarded as a shooter and is switchable on defense NBA comparison Number two overall pick Marvin Williams Remember him marvin Williams Williams played in the NBA for 15 years started over 800 career games and averaged 11 points and five rebounds over 13 years That kind of career would return lottery value Bryant is a back half of the lottery player who has a chance to be a valuable piece of some really good teams if he finds the right situation Joseph not too complicated TR JK what does that do for you marvin Williams what does that do for you let me know if that makes you just shake your head You just roll your eyes like “Yeah why bother?” What does that do for you i’m just curious for your your response Not too complicated I saw what you said about how Carter did against the Houston Cougars and it wasn’t impressive I mean it wasn’t NTC said they had to dig deep for an average player is sad And let me see if this is the slide for it Let me see Let me see Let me go back to it here Versus the Cougs Carter Bryant nine points three for eight field goals two for six threes one for two from free throw line six rebounds two blocks That was in one game the the other game Six points two for six from the floor Those two buckets were threes He was two for four from three Six rebounds one assist three turnovers and two steals So again that’s what Carter Bryant did in the two games against the Houston Cougars Does that make you shake your head and like “Oh hell no.” Or my gosh what the hell or his draft stock is based on potential as most college freshman who are in the draft That’s I mean he got one year of college What else really can you compare it to you got to project what will he do in the NBA So I’m just putting it out there some more info some more details about the Scott report that um the NBA draft guide and Jonathan Gavone kind of differ on his passing skills One was Vini was I think well Vini and Gavone were kind of higher on his passing skills than the NBA people NBA draft guy people So I’m I’m not sure Um he sounds like Taran to me with maybe a better handle honestly I mean okay Yeah whatever Um his second being worse is red flag Couldn’t he adjust after the first experience uh Jon how are you thank you as always Jon says I’ll pass on Carter Bryant He prefers Colin Murray Boils CNB was among the second group of college players or draft prospects invited to the green room for the first round on draft night which will be next w next Wednesday June 25th I think I think the uh 25 names is complete now Let me check here I think the NBA put it out finally But I mean it’s usual guys The invite list is for guys who are expected to go in the first round Not really any earthshattering surprises or anything like that So there were a few international players who withdrew their name Just I think the last day for the international players to withdraw from the 25 draft No nothing earthshattering there Uh Derek how are you doing joseph is high on Rashir Fleming I mean he did get drafted for sure Rasher Fleming chose for the Rockets but again I’m curious Has any of your anyone changed their mind regarding the Rockets and the 10th pick do any of you now believe that the 10th pick assuming the Rockets stay at 10 and keep the pick will have an impact on the team for 2526 i don’t I don’t So in that case you know hell you can trade down get some more assets or or package it whatever So I don’t expect 10th pick do anything for the Rockets Not too comicated Shocked the Rockets are not in on Walter Clayton Don’t they see the translation i think again even today’s ESPN mock draft had Walter in the low 20s in that first round having questions about his his stature his height being too short and not really being a point guard So being an undersized shooting guard in the NBA and will that how will he perform running offense in the league So I guess that’s one of the bigger questions that leagues that teams are having regarding Walter Clayton If nothing else I could see Walter Clayton on the high end being like a a a guy who come off the bench like a TJ McConnell get you points once he learns how to run the offense get you some assists but he can score if you need it That kind of guy And Walter Clayton obviously had a better finish to his college career but he’s kind of similar to u Marcus Sasser Marcus was a scorer in college not a true point guard still learning to be a point guard in the NBA not getting a lot of time with Detroit to run the offense And then Detroit went ahead and traded for a veteran Dennis Shruder which really took Marcus’ minutes away And now probably going to be a question if Marcus will finish this coming season with Detroit I mean probably he might start the season with Detroit but I’m not sure if he’ll end the season with Detroit But there you go on thoughts on Carter Bryant Arizona A little bit more info An athlete long arms strong will get stronger as he gets older and his body develops more solid mechanics on his his shot Hustler energy guy defensive guy switchable on defense but honestly he’s he’s Taran Already got Tar Een So you know complicated Coach Samson calls a lot of guys top five lottery picks He does that especially before they play before the Cougs face that team But also being a top five college player does not equate to being a top five or being a very good NBA player I like Walter Clayton Jr I like him and I am kind of surprised that he’s not being thought of more middle of the first round Does not mean he won’t be a solid pro Some teams just have their mind set on well he can’t help us or you know we can’t use his skill set or blah blah blah And then players fall through the draft and then that one team that can figure has the right coaching staff and philosophy and mindset we can make him work We’ll figure it out Then those players go there and shine He could be one of those dudes So you know I mean just wish him well But time time will tell He’s going to get drafted It’s up to him Hopefully he goes a lot of this for a lot of players It’s about going to the right team the right coach the right coaching staff the right organization who can best maximize your skills and minimize your weaknesses That’s for that’s for a lot what a lot of this is So we’ll we’ll see But I’m not high on Carter Bryant for the Rockets I think he could be have a solid NBA career I don’t maybe an all-star game here and there because of his energy and hustle all that I But Derek asked the question switch shifting gears my take on the Rockets resigning Stephen Adams Smart move Good move Good move Very good move for the Rockets Price was right as well Stephen wanted to stay with the Rockets He didn’t I really did not give any serious thought consider consideration to the con you know the discussions about him going somewhere else No As long as the Rockets did not insult him with a money offer he was going to stay And he did No No complicated Cave’s vacation home is in Dallas That’s where it is It’s not Houston it’s Dallas So yeah nice try But nothing new All all this about uh the rumors and discussions about Minnesota KD prefers to go to the Spurs That’s nice probably Spurs one Rockets two Miami three than Minnesota Phoenix is holding out for a better package and better package right now is from the Timberwolves But KD’s not has said he well supposedly does not want to sign a contract extension in Minnesota That’s Minnesota’s problem If the Suns and Chims agree to a trade the Suns give what they want is enough value for him Bye That’s Minnesota Minnesota’s problem Good for Phoenix Good for Phoenix to to say now they got to do it to say we are going to do what’s best for us We would like you know in ideal world to make it best for us and Kevin Durant but the Suns and the teams have to do what’s best for them And if that means Minnesota’s the best the Suns are hoping for the Spurs to include the second pick in the draft they’re not going to do that They’re not doing that That would be a blink by the Spurs Yeah Oh yeah Let’s do it No they’re not going to do that It’s KD uh I mean KD I mean the fact he’s including Miami as we discussed Sunday on on Folks Talking Sports Miami not going to win anything He can go there and play and score and not win a lot That’s what he wants to do If that’s what he wants to do that’s fine He has his rings If he wants to ride out you know in the sunset of his Hall of Fame career on a successful team not a below 500 team but not advance far in the playoffs okay go to Miami But if he wants another chance at a championship there’s probably there are better options something he needs to think about And next summer when other teams will have salary cap room I’m not sure how many of them will have a lot of salary cap room to sign him to a max contract He could sign next summer with a team if he wants to win another ring He could do that if he still wants to do that But yeah Kate Kade is a choice point guard Yeah he’s a scoring point guard He’s more of an NBA 21st century point guard Scores and gets assists He is not a John Stockton point guard He’s not a true point guard but Kade is the point guard Jaden Ivy healthy Looking forward to Kade and Ji teaming up healthy and seeing what they can do together for a full season which should be nice and one of the reasons why I think people are under are forgetting about Detroit as as improving next season One of the best young players is going to play next year He missed the last 50 games with a broken leg Damn But Rockets are are active taking phone calls making phone calls blah blah blah doing their due diligence as they should I don’t see them upping their offer to make Phoenix happy not breaking up their core their young core or not I don’t see them It’d be fool hearty to include Jabari and Jaylen Green for Kevin Durant Don’t see that happening Not doing that at all So yeah Gambo is trusted But let me say this He Thank you very much as well He is a trusted source No And the rationale Jaylen Green and Devin Booker are redundant They play they really do play the same position Book plays it much better than Jaylen Green clearly But if the Rockets trade let’s go ahead Let’s just go with FA typed by Gambo Gam Gambino Fing Radio Not sure if he’s the son beat writer but he’s connected son big famous person in Phoenix radio He’s making a mistake I’ll say that first Or he’s or he’s doing all this for a reason He’s being a mouthpiece Going public with with these trade demands all that kind of stuff doesn’t help So he’s being fed information going public with it That doesn’t help I’ I’ve said it on many of these shows and I’ll continue saying it Most of the NBA trades that are finalized are not leaked to the public the rumors and stuff tossed around tossed out there by media tossed out there by TV people NBA writers beat writers on and on and on They’re getting that stuff from agents runners etc Because the folks feeding them that information have an angle their their their client is one of the players involved you know different things like that I don’t care about all that Get into all that kind of stuff you know like like I like someone would say well 29 the other 29 NBA teams have called the Bucks about Giannis Oo shocking Really who knew duh Who wouldn’t do that of course they would So it’s lying season You got eight more days until the first round of the 2025 NBA draft You know putting all that kind of stuff out there Uh no Quinton improved his stock to be a firstrounder He was a He was a second rounder and made himself into a firstrounder Marcus Sasser made himself into a firstrounder Jamal Shed was a second round pick and was a second round pick you know but and my another example of it no one was talking about Desmond Bane being traded to Orlando and lo and behold it happened Another example the trades that the majority of the ones that do happen are not leaked Just keep that in mind Especially more and more silent assassins on social media I heard this Well so and so told me that Well this Okay folks doing that clickbait stuff Go ahead You know there was a rumor that the Rockets had some interest in Cam Johnson He is a better offensive player than Dylan Brooks Not a better as physical defensive player as Dylan Brooks I think Was it complicated you want Cam Thomas right you don’t want Cam Johnson you know some interest And with Brooklyn all that cap space Brooklyn has most likely it makes more sense for Brooklyn there’s not a lot of impact free agents would want to sign with Brooklyn this this summer And they’re not going to be very good next year It might be a little bit better but it’s not going to be that much Not going to be a playoff team Shocking if they do So they’ll probably take back bad contracts on that expire next summer and try to do it again to make a splash Have some success this season with some veterans and then next summer try to do it again Heaves believes Eay wants KD more than Stone but at the end of the day he thinks he may call the shots if he wants KD I think Tilman calls the shots for that I don’t I believe Eay wants Kevin Durant Yeah I believe that I believe you could say EA does not share the same viewpoint regarding Jaylen Green as Rafel Stone Would not disagree with you on that But to break up I’ll say I’ll say it like this I’ve said it before I’m going to be consistent I do not believe Kevin Durant with the Rockets makes the Rockets a championship team If Eay believes that on him I disagree with that belief But if you all believe that we’re going to disagree He’ll help the offense Okay I mean offense was lacking in the first round against the Warriors where an average Jaylen Green performance would have got them to the second round I think we agree on that Jayon says he’ll be disappointed if Stone doesn’t make any roster changes to solve the shooting problem The Rockets need another veteran guard that can shoot at least 36% from three Do you only do you all agree with that not too complicated It sounds like It sounds like the name take it for what it’s worth that the name falling in the draft I mean on a decline is Ace Bailey you know keep in mind falling to you know from three to like six not a huge fall you know but his his advisors he’s not working out for teams He’s he’s advising him to call the shots as if he’s Cooper flag I mean you know there were questions about you before June and now you’re adding to them but not working out and choosing you know and your interviews are already shaky based on Chicago what you did in Chicago and now you’re making more difficult on yourself Okay they have something in mind I wish him good luck He’s a talented player who takes bad shots a lot of them He makes him makes things too difficult for himself Jayon if we get KD we got to extend him That’d be the plan Do the Rockets really want to pay KD 60 mil plus for two or three years doesn’t make sense Well as someone put out there was it Saturday’s show maybe KD would be agreeable to taking less than that 60 mil if it’s 40 mil per for two years Would they do that would he would he do that fa believes that the Rockets if the Rockets give up Jabari and Jaylen in the deal for KD they will still have their remainder of the picks from Phoenix They still have Brooklyn’s pick True true true And that still won’t make them a championship team Comicated Ace Bailey should get Shadura Sanders treatment so Rockets can grab him at 10 He got another He has a few more issues Maturity sounds like one of them Lack of maturity FA believes they’ll have much more assets left to either draft more players or trade them for players So you are in the agreement of the Rockets should trade for Kevin Durant that’s fine But do you are you concerned with the Rockets paying Kevin Durant a contract extension worth at least $100 million for two years if not 110 115 120 when he’s 38 and 39 years old plus having to pay a man Thompson you know going forward So if you’re Hey I got no Hey Kevin Durant I think would help the Rockets this season get to the second round and maybe the conference finals and lose That’s about it If that’s good enough for you I’m good with that I understand that But are you good with him the salary cap’s going to go up I think $10 million for each team The issue is $60 million for a guy 38 years old 38 39 whose body has begun breaking down on him When he’s healthy he can put up numbers obviously But 38 39 years old paying a guy that much money to play if you’re lucky 60 games a season if you’re lucky Is that a wise investment if you say yes okay you’re kind of in a small group but that’s all right I think you’re good with that You don’t mind standing on standing 10 10 toes down on it That’s fine I respect that All you know different viewpoints here are welcome on the Let’s Talk Houston Rockets live stream shows and the shows Click on that bell and spread the word about these shows because I said and I’m proud of it This show is unlike the other Houston Rockets related shows Ah but Hefe what I’m getting to now is is he still going to average 27 points a game in those handful of game not handful 50 60 games that he is able to play because once his body breaks down Father Time is undefeated So that’s what I’m saying At some point he’s not going to average 25 27 points a game and still be getting paid $60 million a year Well no complicated He is talking about Jaylen Green and Jabari being traded for Kevin Durant and then trusting who i mean Reed Shepard and and Fred and the men Thompson and and Dylan Brooks and Kevin Durant So Kevin Durant starting lineup what would it be uh starting lineup have Dylan Brooks and KD and Alpie starting up front That’d be interesting That’ be interesting Uh oh yeah the Suns don’t like Houston’s offer because it it’s not one or two things The Rockets are not truly we can say what you know speculate Jabari and Jaylen and the Suns saying “Yeah we don’t want Jaylen.” They could they could trade acquire Jaylen and trade him somewhere else if they believe that what they’re getting in return is maximum value for Kevin Durant Jaylen have to they can trade him some I don’t know who that team would be you know based on Jaylen Green’s performance in the first round against the Warriors He did not help himself nor the Rockets with what he did in that first round of playoffs But of course it only takes one team only takes one general manager Only takes one owner A change of scenery will do Jaylen Green wonders We can maximize his skill set and bring the best out of him with us That team is out there Rafale can find him in a trade or agree a trade to Phoenix Phoenix can find him in a trade go for it But I don’t see and I could be wrong I’ve been wrong I mean hell been doing this 30 plus years I’ve been wrong I don’t see the Rockets blinking and trading for Kevin Durant this summer That’s what I’m not saying KD here I have no problem with KD I have haven’t had problems with him in the times I’ve covered him when he comes to town I I got no problem with it You know there’s probably not an NBA player that I have an issue with So it wouldn’t bother me Kevin Durant with the Rockets be a lot of eyeballs on on the Rockets might boost numbers for these shows and things like that Hey but you know complicated and this is an issue that could be for other that other teams are asking What possibly can Jaylen work on in the offseason to become a dog nothing So other teams be like “Yeah we don’t want him either He’s your problem.” And that might be what Phoenix is think Yeah we don’t want him either No it’s okay No no y’all keep him FA says the only thing the Rockets are missing is a go-to score down the stretch That’s why they lost in the playoffs They have everything else Lonard how are you tony how are you didn’t Jabari shut KD down i don’t know when that was I know Was it a game in in Houston when Kevin Durant was on fire man second half of the season He had a game in Houston It was just like looked like vintage KD What uh right And that’s what I said last Thursday I said that that same thing Right I love my brother Eco Kelly Smart got more connections than I do in NBA circles But clearly the Rockets that’s why I did what I did to the trade machine Rafel wants to keep Jaylen Green Okay Rafale wants Rafel believes in Jaylen Green and is willing to give Jaylen Green as much time as possible to become that dog that not too comicated and many others especially on these shows does not believe Jaylen won’t ever have But Rafale believes in Jaylen Green So Rafale is going to do he’s going to hold I believe in he’s going to Rafale is of the mindset it seems that he is concerned that Jaylen Green is going to become that superstar for somebody else and say see we could have had that here You know we could have had that here I told you we we just stuck with him He done it here That’s That’s what it looks like Not too complicated Stone and Jaylen need to be investigated Jon states “I’m concerned that Stone is seriously considering a trade for KD.” Lonard keep green because I became more comfortable when Ant-Man underperformed in the conference finals Anthony Edwards did not do well He struggled second round against the war because he struggled against OKC Second round against the Warriors He looked much better against Golden State than Jaylen Green did So that really wasn’t a lightning rod for a lot of us to say see that’s the difference right there between the two of them Then Ant struggled in the conference finals Now you could say Ant struggled in the conference finals cuz the opponent he got tired too much of a heavy load and just wore down Depends on your viewpoint FA says if the Rockets really did include Jabari Smith as a focal point of the trade it would be a done deal already which is again why I did not in include him in my trade machine that was approved by the machines Rockets are trying to go the smart route and not include who they believe are the younger players with a brighter future So putting in salary for salary Dylan Brooks had to toss in somebody with a bright future So they to in my trade tossed in Reed Shepard and then Jock Landell Now my trade did not include any picks Now if the Rockets wanted to include the 10th pick in next week’s draft and one of the other future picks to Phoenix now maybe that might get it done And if they do that Rafale could really take a bow because he would get Kevin Durant and not disrupt his young core Jayon Rafale believes in Jaylen Green like he believes in KPJ KPJ is a free agent Maybe No I doubt that here Yeah Joseph says “Are you talking about Carter Bryant is a no can do Holland?” Uh and against OKC Have to look it up He didn’t shoot well He struggled He me said that he didn’t he didn’t shoot well He didn’t play well against OKC He says “A lot of things I hear from Rockets fans is they say to keep the young core together At some points the Rockets have to make a tough decision because they won’t be able to keep all of the core seven Well I don’t agree with the Rockets in so far so far their continuity kick the believing they’re going to remain a second best team in the West just by keeping this group together I think that’s a mistake We’ll see who’s right I think the Rockets will trade the the 10th pick They probably should because I don’t see the 10th pick being better than anybody the Rockets have right now Lonard asked the question “How do we get J or LaMelo or LaMelo and Eay?” I could not see that working at all man I boy Al Alhai one of my brothers from the BS3 network family Appreciate you brother Thank you as always for your kind words in our discussions on the phone Solo said the Durant trade drama is annoying him That’s I don’t spend too much time then with all that kind of stuff anymore my younger years I was I was obsessed with that stuff and then I began to realize most of those reported those rumors and all never happened So I I just move on Rich Bass salute to you Thank you as well If the Rockets do trade the 10th pick and it’s not for KD like I said who could they trade the pick for oh well I mean it depends on who they have high on that draft board You know maybe they maybe they believe in someone like Walter Clayton Jr who is available later in the first round who has a higher grade on their big board Rocket shows So we’re doing Kevin Durant He’s pointing out that he is in favor of the Rockets trading for Kevin Durant He Hefe is okay with KD getting paid by the Rockets but he does have some issues not issues but some concerns about Kevin Durant staying healthy as he gets older So you know we’ll see Uh I think I think Kevin R’s going to Minnesota I you know and it’s interesting I haven’t seen it today Sham you know shams I don’t know spend too much about it but now you see a difference in sources Last night the Athletic put out there that KD’s number one preference his top choice is the Spurs That was from the Athletic ESPN folks didn’t mention that they’re going with it’s the Heat or the Rockets today The Athletic started maybe even late last night putting Minnesota could be the dark horse team some other folks even tossing Toronto out there because it’s up to Phoenix to do the right thing for them to maximize their return for them And if that does not involve the Spurs Rockets or Heat but it involves Minnesota it involves Toronto if it involves the Clippers whatever The Suns have to do what’s best for them that they believe is best for them And honestly Phoenix probably should wait a little longer They’re they’re in a hurry and everyone knows they’re in a rush to trade KD The teams know that So they think the Suns are going to blink The Suns need to just play the long game as long as possible Play the long game and wait for your best offer Oh no Rich That’s like I said that’s the risk Minnesota has to understand and that is some of the push back apparently from their their side of it But that’s not Phoenix’s concern If if Minnesota gets what the Suns want the hell the Suns care Minnesota does after after that I mean let’s be real If any from a Rocket perspective from a Rockets perspective y’all Rocket fans if Phoenix blinked and this is really really really hypothetical and says “Rafel we are tired of Kevin Durant knowledge drama We’re going to give you KD for the 10th pick and can’t more That’s it We’re We’re tired of all this ref say after he falls off the his chair and says yes in a trade like that Will y’all care about the Suns will you care what happens to the Suns going forward if Phoenix said “Yeah Rafael 10th pick in Cam Gilmore We’re done with we’re done with KD going to care what Phoenix does.” So it’s not Phoenix got to do what’s best for them I don’t care for you know once a team agrees to what the Suns want Sun’s not going to care about what happens after that That’s their problem You don’t get the Suns pick if you don’t plan on getting one of the rant or Booker and Rich Bass thinks the Suns want Jabari and Houston not budging and like I said I understand that and that’s good on Phoenix because they that’s who they want If that’s what they have in mind then they got to stand firm on that and don’t rush it Don’t blink That’s what they need to do Don’t rush it They can wait until start of the season and see if the offers get better Now there will come a point where it really becomes diminishing returns and Phoenix has to walk that line They can’t wait too long But family y’all saw what happened Sunday Desmond Bane and multiple first round picks Desmond Bane making an average of $40 million the next four seasons and multiple first round picks And Desmond Bane has had injury issues the last three seasons That’s Desmond Bane So Phoenix needs to do what’s best for them And don’t blink Don’t feel pressured Don’t Now like I said if they want to say “Hey Detroit give us Paul Reed and Marcus Sasser We’ll give you KD.” Okay Yeah Okay And then let Detroit figure out what they’re going to do You know what I’m saying that’s teams Phoenix cannot blink Well they can They should not blink Suns are waiting for the best offer and they should wait for their best offer in no hurry This is June 17th That’s the thing I didn’t like from a outsider perspective Phoenix wants to trade KD before the draft That sounds desperate y’all And if teams know y’all are desperate they’re not going to give you their best offer because they sense they smell that desperation on you You of it Phoenix So maybe some cooler heads have prevailed in Phoenix That’ll do it everybody What leverage do I think the Suns have they don’t have to trade Camdan right now They can wait Again going back to it How many people thought Desmond Bane would be worth multiple first round picks male Bridges multiple first round picks How many thought Luca would get traded in a deal for one first round pick all a son’s got to do is find that one team that one GM that one owner Some say that one sucker whatever you want to call it It’s June 17th There’s no rush They shouldn’t rush Now if they do make a bad deal that’s on them Hey no Uh I’m not even sure if Isaiah Matt Ishb are still talking like that There’s enough other Michigan State connections over there that Ishb is doing and they listen too you know I mean hell scan around the NBA and and look for other players from Michigan State or other personnel from Michigan State and maybe Ishbia can deal with those guys and and trade for Kevin Durant Maybe that’s what it’s going to take I don’t know You know CA37 hire you Uh job being on the market I mean there was some smoke there a while ago and then management said no not trading jaw now he’s tra traded Desmond Bane logically it seems like the Desmond Bane deal was to keep Triple J and J in Memphis that’s what it seems like resign Santi Alama that’s what it seems like but who knows I don’t put it past everybody I love y’all I love the conversation I love the questions and the comments the back and forth But trust me don’t stress over this AL TV thank you for for your for chiming in Don’t freak out over this Don’t overdo it Don’t overthink it It’s lying season We got eight more days of this before the draft We’re going to talk about it here on Let’s Talk Houston Rockets But don’t lose Don’t lose sleep over this stuff Don’t panic Rafale What the hell is Rafale doing none None of that Don’t do that We can chop it up here and leave it there Just leave it there Okay If something happens that’s that’s what I was gonna say Wrap it up Just put your trust in Rafael Stone and Eay and Tilman and leave it there Okay just Just leave it there Don’t Don’t overreact to seeing stuff headlines Just keep in mind and I believe this and I think it’s true the majority of deals that are done are never leaked You don’t see headlines You don’t see them on social media You don’t hear NBA national folks talking about them Just relax But we’re going to do it here on these Let’s Talk Houston Rocket shows probably Friday because game six is Thursday and so we won’t have time really to do it this another Rocket show on Thursday
