Bulls Draft Targets: 5 Players Chicago Could Draft In The 2025 NBA Draft

[Music] what’s going on everybody welcome into the Bulls Report my name is Patrick Seatman and coming up on today’s show we’re going to be looking at the 2025 NBA draft and discussing five prospects that the Bulls could take at pick number 12 now all of these guys are very likely to be drafted by the Bulls so we’ll deep dive on all of them here in a second but NBA draft less than a week away next Wednesday we have our newest member of the Chicago Bulls and we are going uh we are going to be going live for this event so make sure you guys hit that subscribe button we’re actually only 12 subscribers away from 12,000 subs here on YouTube so if you guys have not already please go down there hit that subscribe button and also tune in for our live draft coverage here on the show next Wednesday all right so the Bulls obviously have a major need at the forward and center position and that’s kind of what’s going to highlight our five draft targets here my number one guy throughout this whole process has been Derrick Queen now I am more of a fan of Malawatch the center from Duke but I just think it is incredibly unlikely that he falls to pick number 12 and that leaves Derrick Queen the next best center up there the position of need for the Bulls and also I think this would be you know a BPA play at the same time now he is an incredibly skilled big man um he’s got great touch just a great feel for the game and this past season at Maryland as a freshman he was pretty dominant i mean playing over 30 minutes a game almost averaging a 17 point triple double now the playmaking ability for him you see he’s only averaging 1.9 assist i could see him being a three four five assist game uh per game guy once he hits his peak in his uh NBA career and here were uh his measurables at the combine he was 6’9 without shoes 247 lbs weigh body did have a standing reach of 9’1 in um and a wingspan of 7 foot but the one concern about him has been just his natural athletic ability and he only had a vertical jump of 28 in but again when he turned on the tape he still feels athletic out there now obviously he didn’t test well um but I’m really not too concerned about that and you know my scouting report for him he he has a very physical offensive game like if he does get a guard on him in the low block he’ll just turn that corner drop his hip on him and he’ll go up and finish over the top and I do think he can play kind of that Alprin Shenon um Nicole Joic top of the keyh style big man where you can run just handoff actions with him have him create maybe four on three he’s an elite passer also I love his decision making and also I love his touch around the rim he can get to that push shot kind of uh if you guys have seen Isaiah Hartenstein like he has mastered that shot derek Queen has that as well um not to the level of Hartinstein but that could be something he develops throughout his career and he does have limitations as a rim protector like obviously he’s not a vertical athlete he’s not going to be going and meeting up guys meeting guys above the rim but he does move his feet somewhat well but I have noticed the archetype of guard that he does struggle against is like the you know De’aran Fox like Russell Westbrook or like a prime D Rose for example like those really fast hyper athletic guards blow by him a whole lot but when he does kind of get on wings he moves his feet somewhat well but this guy his calling card is the offensive side of the floor he hopefully would be a guy that averages like 18 10 and five at the peak of his powers in the NBA and I think he would be a good option for the Bulls at pick number 12 but also another guy I am a massive massive fan of and he just plays the game the right way and that’s Carter Bryant um forward from Arizona i will say this with Carter Bryant you know obviously the raw numbers aren’t going to blow you away and I don’t want to compare him to you know Patrick Williams coming out because we obviously know how that ended up turning out but he is very similar where he was in a limited role at Arizona but you also see the flashes in certain spots and you know I think he would just project as the prototypical high-end 3 and D role player like this isn’t a guy you’re drafting where you’re saying “Oh he could be a second or third option on a championship team.” He’s more of a fourth fifth option but also his floor in my opinion isn’t is extremely high now obviously the production at Arizona wouldn’t back that up but I’m going to trust in him just his jump shot he gets the same release point at the same time he’s also a smart team defender just little things I notice about him just getting to the help side getting in the right spot flying around in rotation like all the little things on the basketball court I feel like he does that very well and he also plays his ass off he plays 110% every single time and I really do believe that’s a skill because if everybody could do it they would but Carter Bryant’s one of those guys he busts his ass every single play and I think at pick number 12 like you would put him next to Modest Buzz i honestly think their games would complement each other very very well you would have two lengthy wings that can be very switchable defensively so he is honestly been flying up draft boards and I could see a situation where he’s also not there or not available at pick number 12 but if he is I would love for the Bulls to draft him but you guys let me know name a player the Bulls need to draft this year um giving you guys three more names here in a second but as it stands right now who do you guys want the Bulls to draft so it’s Derk Queen Malatch you know Yakatronis like any of these guys please drop a prospect’s name down below in the comment section now we’re going to stick with the center position here and you know I’ve been back and forth on Thomas Sorber like when this pre-draft process started I started looking at him i wasn’t the biggest fan of him and then I really started to fall in love with him and then I kind of flip-flopped back and I was like maybe I don’t really see it but as it stands right now I think Thomas Silver is going to be a very good pro in the NBA now does he have tremendous upside not you know necessarily but I do think his floor is incredibly high he’s also a very intelligent player which is something I noticed like he just makes the right reads especially defensively like he can switch on the guards and guard pretty damn well and I’ll say this if Derek Queen and Malwatch are off the board I still think Sorba would be a great pick now people would be probably saying when the Bulls draft him oh they’re reaching on him at pick number 12 and you know technically they are but that’s also a huge position of need for the Chicago Bulls because there is no answer after Nicole Vuch at the center spot and also there’s going to be not really a whole lot of centers you know next year in free agency and you know you could always trade for one but also if you would just take a chance on a guy like Sorurn he ends up working out that could be your center of the future for hopefully 10 years he’s a defensive-minded uh center now is he like a lob threat like a Clint Capella Mitchell Robinson type player not necessarily he’s not a crazy vertical athlete but he does use his body extremely well he is a physical player you feel him out there i mean you guys kind of see his frame right here like he’s got big arms he’s also got massive massive legs he can clear space a great rebounder i think he’d be a guy that would just walk into the NBA be a 12 and 10 guy so Sorber I’d be a fan of him but this has been the sleeper of the NBA draft and um Cedric Coward now he had a chance to go play at Duke he obviously decided to uh stay in the NBA draft and he is a very very high upside prospect now do I think he would ever be a second or third option on a championship team no not necessarily but I think he would be a high-end high-end fourth fifth option he is a m great three-point shooter sketch and shoot ability top-notch i love his form as well he gets that same release point every single time and he’s also a great athlete he’s great at finishing at the rim which also leads me to his offball upside because if he is an elite catch and uh shoot three-point shooter and he’s also a great cutter as well a smart cutter whenever a guard’s driving and he feels like you know maybe not comfortable with that shot he’ll just cut to the rim back cut the guy and he’s got the athletic ability to finish over the top and defensive upside a little comparison for Bulls fans here he’s like a juiced up Javvante Green where he just plays with that psychopath mentality where he’s flying around like maybe he could be like a guy like Alex Caruso honestly now I don’t know if he has that much of a defensive upside where he’d be a top five defender in the world but he has athletic ability and the just mental side of the game to do that and he’s also just got great length man he’s a long player 6’6 has about a 7 foot wingspan but if the Bulls do end up trading Kobe White I will say Cedric Coward is a perfect guard next to Josh Giddy now he’s kind of like a juiced up IO Dumo as well um I think if you would have both those guys be able to rotate in next to Josh Giddy because I do think you need a defensive-minded guard next to uh Josh Giddy because Kobe White tremendous offensive player he’s a three-level score he could be a 20point a game guy for the rest of his life um but is that the ideal archetype of guard you want next to Giddy not necessarily but a guy like Cow Herd IO those more defensive-minded guys they 100% are and lastly here we’re going to go Liam McNeely um the reason I put him on this list is I have a weird feeling the Bulls are gonna be seriously considering him um this guy’s a dead eyee shooter kind of reminds me of Corey Kissert a little bit and you know my thoughts on McNeely I would not be thrilled about the Bulls drafting him but him and Bzelis would be an interesting combo because I think Bzelis’s calling card will be the defensive side of the floor like when he’s at the peak of his powers we’re going to be probably talking about him as one of the best wing defenders in the league and then if you want to take like the positive view of Liam McNeely you would have that big body forward who can stretch the floor a little bit he does have a want defensively which I love like he fights his ass off and I wonder if that’s just you know Dan Hurley effect playing at Yukon like you’re going to have to be able to guard but you know this is a guy he’s very you know limited in his game i wish he had more off the balance ability but terms of just a catch and uh shoot three-point shooter he also moves very well without the ball like you will find open pockets in the defense for just an easy catch out so he’s an intelligent shooter as well but I just have a feeling the Bulls may be looking at McNeely and uh Buzzellis as two guys they could maybe build around with Josh Giddy now defensively I still have question marks about him but you know we’ll have to wait and see maybe he could just develop into that but if you guys made it to the end of today’s show give me a C red down below in the comments section so I can know where all the real ones are at and also hit that subscribe button today see you guys next time as always go Bulls [Music]

  1. Pat I’m gonna need a better list out of you. McNeely at 12? He’s borderline top 25. Sorber no— we want a running center. And not having Essengue or Fleming on list is crazy work.

  2. CBS has Ace Bailey falling to 6, and saying Chicago picks Demin, and the projected 9th overall player Queen goes to the Hawks at 13. No no no, positional need and 9th best at 12 – how is he not the pick!!!!! Love Sorber, another is Wolf yes a reach only if we go Center. Goldilocks, according to CBS is, Collin Murray-Boyles F. I like Coward and as for McNeeley, no, Denim over him. Again CBS Carter goes at 10 – I like Carter too – man so excited its like 5 days before a Holiday

  3. What do anyone think about…Rocco Zikarsky, 18 years old, he stands at 7'3" barefoot and weighs 257 lbs, with a 7'4¾" wingspan and a 9'6½" standing reach.

    🧠 Scouting Report

    Strengths:

Elite Size & Length: Zikarsky's height and wingspan make him an imposing presence in the paint, allowing him to alter shots and finish over defenders with ease.

Rim Protection: He has strong shot-blocking instincts and a natural ability to protect the rim, making him a defensive asset.

Mobility: For his size, Zikarsky moves well, showing promise as a rim-runner in transition and in pick-and-roll situations.

Interior Scoring: He finishes efficiently around the basket with solid touch and footwork.

    Areas for Improvement:

Perimeter Defense: Zikarsky can struggle to stay in front of quicker players, which may limit his effectiveness in switch-heavy defensive schemes.

Shooting Range: His offensive game is primarily confined to the paint; developing a mid-range or three-point shot would enhance his versatility.

Free Throw Shooting: Improving his performance at the free-throw line is essential to avoid being a liability in close games.

Foul Management: He can be prone to unnecessary fouls, which could limit his playing time.

    📊 Performance & Draft Projection

In the 2024–25 NBL season, Zikarsky averaged 4.6 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 0.6 blocks in 11.8 minutes per game. His season was cut short due to a knee injury. Despite limited playing time, his size and potential have kept him on NBA teams' radars.

    Draft projections vary:

Bleacher Report projects him as the 17th overall pick, citing his size and rim protection as key assets.

Tankathon ranks him 50th on their big board, noting his raw skill set and need for development.

🏀 Fit with the Chicago Bulls

For the Bulls, who hold the 12th pick, Zikarsky presents an intriguing option:

Defensive Anchor: His shot-blocking and rim protection could address the Bulls' need for interior defense.

Development Project: Given his raw offensive game, he would benefit from time in the G League or limited NBA minutes to develop his skills.

Long-Term Potential: With proper development, Zikarsky could become a starting-caliber center who anchors the defense and contributes offensively.

However, selecting him at 12 might be considered a reach given his current draft projections. If the Bulls are interested, they might consider trading down to acquire him while gaining additional assets.

    📺 Additional Insight

For a visual breakdown of Zikarsky's game, you might find this scouting video informative:

In summary, Rocco Zikarsky is a high-upside prospect with the physical tools to succeed in the NBA. While he requires development, particularly on the offensive end, his defensive potential makes him a candidate worth considering, especially if the Bulls can acquire him later in the first round or early in the second.
