MUST-SEE 76ers Trade Report On Paul George + Latest On Ace Bailey, TJ McConnell Breaking Records

MUST-SEE 76ers Trade Report On Paul George + Latest On Ace Bailey, TJ McConnell Breaking Records

coming up on today’s 76ers Now a loaded show to get to are the 76ers trying to trade down and in the process trade away Paul George we have some updates on Ace Bailey what a crazy week it has been for the Ruckers product and then we got to talk about TJ McConnell an absolute legend of course former 76er now just one game away from potentially becoming an NBA champion before we get into all of that we are still on the race to 25,000 subs between us here at 76ers now and the Miami Heat Report hosted by my friend Nick Rolloloff we’ve made some leeway we’ve caught some ground up against the Heat Report but we still trail by just about 600 subscribers but plenty of time to get to 25K so if you want Sixers coverage all year long be sure to lock us in and hit that sub button all [Music] right so let’s begin here with some of the latest 76ers trade rumors and intel on a possible PG trade the Sixers according to reports are interested in trading down if they can get off of Paula George’s contract now this came from Andy Larson of Locked On Jazz who does have some close ties with the Jazz organization and said this i do think it’s true that the 76ers are interested in trading Denn five potentially if they can get off the Paula George deal i don’t think necessarily may not make sense for the Jazz given how long that contract is and how iffy Paula George was this year i don’t think the Jazz are going to take that offer but I do think that’s an offer that’s that has been presented and this caught some traction on social media prompting Larson to take to Twitter to kind of clarify his statements and what he said regarding a potential Paul George trade and he said a trade has been discussed he did confirm that but he said that it is not and it never did reach the serious stages where anything was considered imminent but he did confirm that from his sources and from what he had heard this had at least been discussed a little bit between Philadelphia and between Utah now I will say this i’m just going to be honest with you guys i’m not 100% sure just how credible Daniel Larson is here with Locked on Jazz now from what I could gather he does have some sources and and some ties closely within that Utah Jazz organization and so I do tend to you know trust what he’s reporting on here especially since he was honest and said “Look they’re talking about it but it’s not super advanced.” But regardless I really don’t see this type of deal happening for a multitude of reasons one I’d be shocked if Daryl my does trade Paul George for a couple different reasons i don’t think he’s going to want to admit his mistake in signing Paul George to that big deal as soon as just one year after he made the signing we’ve heard multiple reports already this offseason that the Sixers want to give it at least one more year run it back with Embiid Paul George hope they can get healthy and give this core another chance while the East is still weak and you know personally I think it does make sense try to give it one more season and hope he can bounce back healthy than shipping him off but when we talk about a potential deal if this were to come to fruition in Utah maybe they want to move up for someone like Ace Bailey I could see something like this being the framework for a potential deal because on Utah’s side both John Collins and Colin Ston who are entering the final year of their deals have been talked about as trade candidates for Utah they’ve been generating some buzz in the trade market over the past really couple of weeks or so so the Sixers can move down to five pick up those two talented players trade away Paul George you definitely have to give up at least one more future first because of the contract and age and injury history of Paula George but I think something like that could be the framework for a potential deal here and look if this is on the table it’s an easy yes for me and I think it should be an easy yes for the Sixers especially considering the whole Ace Bailey situation john Collins and Colin Saxon both guys that I think Collins could slide in starting at the four he’s a very versatile four slash maybe even small ball five he’s athletic he’s developed enough to shoot the three handle the ball a little bit he’d be the perfect fit there at the four a position the Sixers have desperately needed and then Colin Sex I know people are going to be like we don’t need more guards what’s up with all these small guards but Colin Ston coming off the bench gives you a scoring punch that you don’t really have at this moment you know we’ll see what Jared McCain can bring but Colin Ston a little more you know explosive and getting to the rim just plays differently than Jared McCain then you trade down to five you still get a great player there but I don’t think really that type of deal would be in fruition for Philadelphia if Utah again are they really willing to take on that Paula George contract regardless though the Sixers will have plenty of options come draft night that much is clear that much we do know whether they trade down whether they maybe even try to trade up to number two for Dylan Harper whether they’re going to take a three there’s so many different ways they can go and I’m very excited i can’t wait for the draft because we could see some absolute fireworks go down for Philadelphia what say you though would you trade down just to get off of Paul George’s contract of course making just an absurd amount of money 50 plus million dollars over the next few seasons give me a Y for yes or give me an N for no now let’s get to the latest on Ace Bailey because as I mentioned off the top it has been a wild week for him his representation and he’s starting to see his draft stock fall a little bit to the point where people are wondering if he could fall to five six seven maybe even eight after he was pretty much a consensus top three pick almost the entire college basketball season now in case you’ve missed it let me catch you up we did drop a video yesterday on Thursday regarding everything that’s been going on with Ace Bailey and the 76ers but quick rundown here ace Bailey was supposed to fly in today actually to meet with the Sixers you know have some meals talk with the team and then work out on Friday with them but late Wednesday night he canled that workout reports say he canled because he did not receive a draft promise from the 76ers that is what’s being reported that his representation wanted a promise from Philly they would take him they did not give him that promise so he canceled the meeting he has not met with any NBA team up to this point in this pre-draft process outside of combine interviews his team saying that they want him to go somewhere where he can be the guy get a bunch of minutes bunch of shots right away it’s just been a strange strange process for Ace Bailey and now we’re getting some more intel from the Philadelphia Inquirers Keith Pompei who had this to say regarding Ace Bailey multiple league sources said Bailey’s agent Omar Cooper we’ll talk about Omar Cooper here in a second wanted the Sixers to commit to him before a scheduled Friday workout one league executive believes that Bailey wants a consensus top three pick probably will drop in the draft because of his AY’s tactics bailey remains the only American-based draft prospect to not visit any teams for a workout another league executive believes that the agency wants Bailey to remain on the east coast and place somewhere between Atlanta and New York i mean what is going on first of all does Ace Bailey’s camp not know where Philadelphia is located right they’re cancelling these visits and this this meeting with the 76ers pretty sure that Philadelphia fits that description of where they want Ace Bailey to play look not only are they trying to say they want him to be somewhere specific where he can get a lot of shots and get a good opportunity to develop quickly in the beginning of his career now they want him somewhere specifically in a geographical location say maybe close to Ruckers like what is happening here i just it doesn’t make a lot of sense there’s also been reports that Ace’s agent is asking to be paid for Ace to do interviews in this pre-draft process and apparently even going into next season in his first year he’s asking like he has to be paid to do any appearances and all this it’s just it’s just wild what has been going on and I really think this is mostly falls on his representation i know it’s going to come off poorly on Ace Bailey and it’s going to reflect poorly on maybe his character even though by all accounts like as a person Ace Bailey we’ve heard is a good kid right but man this representation in my opinion is really kind of screwing him over and we mentioned earlier his agent Omar Cooper if you don’t know Omar Cooper is Share Cooper’s father if you don’t know who Share Cooper is he was projected to be a first round pick back a couple of years ago in the NBA draft potential lottery pick even ended up falling all the way to I think number 48 in the second round so his dad represents Ace Bailey again the dad of an NBA player who is now out of the league a couple years after he’s supposed to be a potential lottery picks now he’s running things for Ace Bailey and to me this is really a bad look on the representation i can’t put this all on Ace Bailey because when this type of stuff happens it’s not Ace saying all these things it’s the representation and I think he’s getting bad advice and hopefully it doesn’t completely ruin and tank his draft stock because when you fall from like 3 to 78 you’re missing out on millions of dollars now Philly hasn’t ruled him out yet by all accounts at least not publicly they would not let that be known if they have so it’s still in the cards for the Sixers to take him at number three and despite all this I think I would still take him at number three because of his high floor despite I’m sorry his high ceiling despite his low floor but look with all this going on teams just might kind of be turned away by all this and I was also I was talking to to Chase Senior those who’ve been watching the show for a while know he used to really mainly host this show back in the day and we were just talking like the Sixers can never catch a break right and even in this instance even when the Sixers finally catch a win in a sense and their pick moves up from projected number five number six to top three and what’s supposed to be this loaded draft class everyone’s all excited they’re going to be able to take the next great prospect and help this team out with another stud young young player of course the guy they’re supposed to take in Ace Bailey going off the rails and all this is going on there’s always something with the Sixers it can never just be simple and easy there’s always got to be some twists and some turns we just kind of grown used to it here in Philadelphia chive in for me what’s your one word reaction to this Ace Bailey situation for me I’m stupified that might be my one word it just it’s just amazing to me that this representation has really given him this bad of advice and that we’ve seen this in the pre-draft process now speaking of the draft as I mentioned it’s going to be crazy it’s going to be wild the draft really starts at number three with the 76ers and we will be live for both days of the 2025 NBA draft next Wednesday June 25th Thursday June 26 so be sure to subscribe turn on your notifications so you know when we go live that is completely free free coverage of the NBA draft we’ll of course break down and analyze everything the Sixers do whether they make a pick or make a trade but we’ll also analyze every other pick made in the NBA draft so join us i promise you it’ll be a good time and it’ll be very informative insightful and entertaining let’s end the show today real quick i really wanted to talk about TJ McConnell because what a story his NBA career has been he has a chance I’m sorry Colen to cap it off with a game seven victory in the NBA finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday if of course the Pacers can pull that off so look coming into college TJ McConnell was a three-star recruit not really recruited very heavily spent his first two years of college at Dukane where you know played all all right played well enough to transfer to Arizona now he had to sit out a year because of course back then transfer rules and all that was all different when TJ McConnell was in college so he sits out a year then finishes his college career up with two years at Arizona where he played pretty well enough to generate some serious NBA buzz actually got um indicted into their Ring of Honor or inducted into the Ring of Honor I should say uh just the other day so what a year it’s been for TJ McConnell between that and now the NBA finals appearance of course but played well enough at Arizona generated some NBA buzz and fortunately did go undrafted and signed as a UDFA with the Philadelphia 76ers and was a little older coming out of college spending five years there was 23 years old in his rookie year but despite you know him being a shorter player not the most athletic didn’t really have a jump shot and playing on these awful Sixers teams when he first started his career he became a fan favorite very very quickly because he always played hard always played 110% the same way he does now and he played well enough where after the 2019 season he signed a contract with the Indiana Pacers so he’s been with Indiana since the 2019 2020 season and now things are really coming full circle for him he just signed a four-year $45 million extension I believe uh last last offseason excuse me maybe the offseason before that but he got a bag and it just goes to show you man like you don’t need to have all these crazy athletic tools or natural gifts to succeed in the NBA if you just play your ass off it’s going to get noticed and that’s what he’s doing in the finals right now if you haven’t been watching these finals man TJ McConnell has made a real difference for the Indiana Pacers and just a couple stats kind of to show the impact he’s had but even this doesn’t go to show everything he’s done you got to watch him play and watch his game because when he comes in he changes the pace of the game entirely for a backup guard tj McConnell and Alex Caruso shout out to Alex Caruso for this as well tied for the most steals ever off the bench in an NBA Finals tj McConnell getting in those passing lanes kind of José Alvaradoesque where he’ll just get these steals off these lazy inbound passes it’s very very fun to watch and then also for TJ McConnell the first bench player in NBA history let me repeat that the first bench player in NBA history with 60 plus points 25 plus assists 15 plus rebounds in an NBA Finals just legendary stuff i don’t think back in you know 2016 2017 I ever would have imagined seeing this type of impact from TJ McConnell in the NBA finals but here we are and you know of course I want to shout out Isaiah Joe as well another former Sixer on the Oklahoma City Thunder that could win a title on Sunday but the impact TJ has had it’s just remarkable to see he’s really making a name for himself and hoping for the best for him and going to be a great game to watch in game seven between the Pacers and the Thunder again if you haven’t been watching this series man you have been missing out probably the best finals of the 2020s I would have to say so show him some love to my boy TJ McConnell Spam TJ down in the comments section for an absolute process Sixers legend possibly getting a championship here in game seven that’ll do it for today’s show one last quick reminder to hit that sub button sixers content and coverage you get news rumors analysis and more all throughout the year and again with the 1. Would you trade down to get off PG’s contract? Type ‘Y’ for Yes or ‘N’ for No

  2. When a team agrees to take on another teams BAD contract (Paul George) they're not giving you an even trade back. If I'm Utah I'd be doing YOU (the sixers) a favor by taking PG I'm not giving you good young players back.
