🚨JUST IN: NEW Jonathan Kuminga Free Agency UPDATE via NBA Insider | Warriors News

wow does time fly happy anniversary Dub Nation as we’re celebrating two big ones on today June 16th as yes 10 years ago the Golden State Warriors won their first NBA championship in 40 years and then three years ago Steph Curry got his fourth ring klay got his as well and so did Draymond and Steph got that illustrious Finals MVP happy anniversary this is a great day for Dub Nation i decided to start today’s video with a question who wins in a sevengame series is it the 2015 Dubs the upstart kids who beat the Cavs in six games or is it the 2022 Warriors the grizzled vets who defeated the young Boston Celtics in six games you let me know you be the judge in the comments section [Music] what’s going on Dub Nation you’re watching Warriors Today by Chat Sports i am your host Tyler Smith and on today’s show we have the latest rumors surrounding Jonathan Kaminga as an NBA insider came out with a new report across multiple angles surrounding NBA free agency the trademark and all this stuff and Kaminga had his own section panned out and he started off with this michael Scott of Hoops Hype said that Jonathan Kaminga is quote looking for an expanded and consistent role moving forward and this is in the context of him staying with the Golden State Warriors past this summer yeah it’s awesome that Kaminga is looking for an expanded role i’m looking for Sydney Sweeney i I I don’t know where I’m going to find her or if that’s something that’s going to be in my future anytime soon likewise with Jonathan Kaminga i I’m not so sure that he’s going to get his wish granted um considering what Golden State is looking to do this offseason as they’re expected to explore signage trade options but are open to the idea of bringing back Kaminga on a pretty cheaper deal as compared to what it used to be but I’m not so sure that I want that to happen because look man I know maybe I’m cherry-picking a little bit with the games that he came back from after the two-monthlong ankle sprain he suffered but he was not good and clearly did not fit with the best version of the Golden State Warriors and that was the version with Jimmy Butler in the lineup if you look at the numbers on screen man they are uninspiring he he just really couldn’t carve out the role that he had in you know late December early on in the season where he was really hitting his stride a little bit and looked to be somebody that you know Warriors fans were excited about moving forward but man once he came back he was a shell of himself and really left a sour taste in many Golden State Warriors fans mouth and really never got that three-point shot down like he promised he would last offseason and like I I don’t really understand Golden State’s philosophy here with the idea of bringing Kaminga back because there’s two things that can happen one you bring him back and you trade him later on we’ll talk about that in a little bit or two you bring him back and you have really no financial flexibility to make big marginal needle moving moves the rest of this offseason so you’re running the same roster back and I it just boggles my mind that the Warriors front office think that that is a feasible idea if they want to contend for a championship and give Steph an opportunity i I I just I I really am at a loss for words when it comes to Kim’s free agency i think it’s best for both sides if the two you know move on but I understand that you know Golden State can’t reap all the rewards of Jonathan Kaminga’s new contract in terms of what they’ll get back in a trade it’s only 50% so there is that idea as well but my you know next question is what do you pay if you’re going to bring him back if you’re going to bring him back because that seems like what the most likely option is at this point what do you pay Jonathan Kamiga and how long do you pay him for is this going to be a four-year you know a hundred million dollar contract is it going to involve you know some sort of some sort of option in in in a couple years or so uh Bobby Marks of ESPN had his little projection as to what he thought Kaminga could command from the Golden State Warriors he said projecting a new contract for Kaminga is like trying to master the Rubik’s Cube a contract that starts at 25 million gives Golden State the flexibility to fill out this roster and remain below the second apron and Bobby Marx’s only guarantee in this little write up that he had was that the Warriors would extend the qualifying offer of $7.9 million and that’s a given right that makes Jonathan Kaminga officially a restricted free agent any offer sheet that he signs Golden State is able to go out there and match it so that’s the only guarantee as of right now there’s no guarantees that he’s coming back to Golden State there’s no guarantees they’re going to make a move either or find a trade partner but we’ll talk about a couple trade partners that could be on the horizon in just a little bit markx though he did project the actual contract out in detail and his prediction is three-year deal $81 million and it is a two plus one deal so in that third year of the contract Kaminga would have a player option I’m assuming somewhere in the range of 25 to $30 million and he’d be about 26 years old heading into that season so he could accept it if things don’t go well or he’s going to be 26 years old and really could command a ton of money i think it would be a great um you know outcome for him either way he’s going to make either 30 million or he’ll make even more at 26 and I I want to come back to this because this is something that we’ve heard over the past couple of weeks from Monty Pool over at NBC Sports Bay Area is that even if they do bring back Kiminga that doesn’t mean that they view him as a long-term piece even if they sign him to a two plus one kind of deal like that that doesn’t mean that he’s going to play out all of that contract or even at least the two guaranteed years on that deal if you sign Jonathan Kaminga it does allow the Golden State Warriors to get the actual value back contract-wise and finances wise for Kaminga down the line but to be honest with you I’m not really that keen on doing that as you’re one not guaranteed to find a trade when you know that all comes around in the winter and two that’s just more dysfunction and and a lack of continuity for a Golden State team that I think needs to be on the same page from day one as they are when they get to the postseason try to make another championship run scott had this to say though about Kaminga trade partner possibilities he said the Chicago Bulls and Miami Heat are two teams to monitor as potential sign and trade candidates for Kaminga with that in mind the Warriors have also not ruled out the possibility of retaining Jonathan Kaminga miami though is more in depth about the Heat here miami has prioritized pursuits of Jiannis Kmpo if he becomes available and Kevin Durant whom they’re tryingly actively trying to acquire on their wish list ahead of Kaminga who’s viewed as a fallback option to the two superstars well now I’m going to put my hands together and we’re going to start praying that Kevin Durant ends up with the Toronto Raptors cuz that would eliminate him you know going to the West and going to a Golden State competitor as well as going to the Miami Heat which would eliminate them from any Jonathan Kaminga you know trade talks and let’s just talk about these two destinations potentially for KGA and what Golden State could get back this summer in a potential sign and trade so the Heat have a couple of bigger deals on their books they have a Duncan Robinson for 19 million they have a Terry Rosir for 26 million maybe the worst deal in NBA history but I don’t really want to worry about that all that too much because if Kamega signs say a $25 million contract well Golden State can only take back $12.5 million you get me so let’s talk about some of those deals kyle Anderson 9.2 million what why not bring slow-mo back we just signed him last summer why not come on down to the Bay Area heywood Highmith is a good three and D wing but a little less of the three than the D uh Nicole Yoic is a player with honestly he’s got promise man uh is like a 68 like ball handler but can also play down low can defend multiple positions and is a solid playmaker as well just need to expand that offensive game a little bit more a lot of upside there for a young cat and then Jame Hake Jr who’s really fallen out of the Miami rotation ever since that awesome rookie uh rookie season he has not been the same player whatsoever but he is on a chief deal and is a young guy who I think can contribute on a lot of NBA teams right now but then let’s flip over to the Bulls who might be a little bit more enticing for some people we obviously have Nicole Vousvich and the reason I include these two big deals is potentially you know who who knows maybe maybe Golden State decides to bump up the trade package to try to get more salary in there in a in order to get more back so I include Nicole Vousvich because that’s a name that’s been floating around golden State trade talks for super long also Kevin Herder $17 million i’m not so sure how he factors into their long-term future in Chicago i to be honest the Bulls don’t have a a super mapped out long-term future so I feel like anybody is up for grabs on their books right now and you could do the Kobe White one for one i’d be super super down for that i would even consider taking a guy like Lonzo Ball in exchange for Jonathan Kinga to be honest with you and then I sumo who makes an awesome $7.5 million if you could somehow swing that that would be amazing as well look I’m way more interested in the Chicago assets than the Miami Heats they provide more offensive uh firepower I would I would assume um look this Golden State team they they really struggled to put the ball in the basket and I need more guys who are able to do it so I’m more interested in Chicago’s assets i think they have more bucket getters uh to choose from at least or you know possibilities what do you guys think pick a Jonathan Kaminga trade partner if you guys like the Miami Heats assets and you’re looking for something on their roster type MIA in the comment section if it’s the Bulls like me I I’m going Chicago here if if it’s the Bulls who you want to pick out of go CI in the comment section let me know the JK trade partner you would be most likely to choose next we’re going to talk about how the latest NBA blockbuster trade that went out that went down over the weekend it could affect the Golden State Warriors and could open up a new trade possibility for the Dubs we’ll talk about that in just a moment but first make sure you’re hooked up with the best deal in sports this link right here chatsports.com/curry city how often do you see Steph Curry jerseys that are 50% off yeah sliced in half go get yours today it’s last year’s City jersey look I know they’re not going to wear it this year but this is a clean ass jersey man they won a lot of games rocking these this year so go get yours today this link right here I put it in the comments section and description of today’s video to make it easy for you guys chatports.com/curry jersey to go get yourself dripped out in a Curry jersey today all right let’s talk about it man this was wild and my instant reaction was whoa for four unprotected first round picks for Desmond Bane that’s a lot but then you really like kind of boil it down to the Magic a whole heck of a lot better they’re going to be one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference next year and how much room do they really have on their roster for down the line for future first round picks it seems like the East is as wide open as ever and they have all the firepower now to be able to go out there and make an NBA Finals run look at the Pacers this year man nobody expected that to be the case and now with Jason Tatum out this next season who knows about Giannis and I’m not sure if Kevin Durant will make his way to the East it’s anybody’s game so they magic struck while the iron is hot and now the Memphis Grizzlies look like they’re in a little bit of limbo now what’s good with their roster where do they go from here now that they just traded away Desmond Bane and only got back as far as players go catavius Cowwell Pope and Cole Anthony look man I I I I’d be hardressed to believe that they’re just going to run this whole thing back but I did just get a report before we started filming on this show sham Shirania went on TV and said the Grizzlies want to build around Jaw Morant and Jiren Jackson Jr that makes sense like they’re really good players jiren Jackson Jr though is on an expiring deal they’re going to have to pay him and then Jaw can he be the number one on your roster i’m not so sure and I know that it’s harder to trade Jaw away than to trade Jiren Jackson Jr who I think if you know this this doesn’t look as promising as Memphis maybe thinks it’s going to they could open up the phone calls again for a Jiren Jackson Jr trade who is on an expiring contract and yes I think the Warriors somehow someway could finagle a Kaminga signing trade to Memphis where they’ll include like a Moses Moody yeah I think that would literally only like all it would have to be and yeah I I I’d assume like moneywise it’s all it have to be but value-wise you probably would have to give up a guy like Brandon Pajki in that deal so who knows if Golden State would be willing to do that but as far as fits for the Warriors like Darren Jackson Jr is a top of the list man an above average three-point shooter an elite rim protector yes a subpar rebounder i I I will I will have that one knock on Jiren Jackson Jr.’s game man he does not board up for a 610 player and that’s unfortunate but he provides so much else on the basketball court as a defender as a just scorer of the basketball on multiple levels and you know a floor spacer as well so I I like Triple J a lot i’ve long time been a fan of his game but if I had one knock it would be the rebounding i I I think that that deficiency is good enough to make him a very very valuable piece in Golden State and look this is an unrealistic trade this is an unrealistic trade target that’s why I’m not really even like advertising this on the thumbnail or in the title or anything like that cuz I get it it’s super unrealistic but at least we have to start thinking about it now and it doesn’t mean that just because your trade and idea is unrealistic or your targets unrealistic doesn’t mean you don’t call them up like they’re in sale mode now and I’m not so sure how much I buy that Sham’s report i think things could fall apart pretty quickly in Memphis and Jiren Jackson Jr is a name that is a lot more easy to trade than the guy who puts guns up on his Instagram story we’ll talk more about that as time goes on if anything else comes out but you tell me in the comments section should the Warriors trade for Jiren Jackson Jr yes or no i want to hear from Dub Nation on if that’s a guy you’d want to see in blue and gold and make sure you are subscribed to the channel as well that will do it for today’s edition of Warriors today by Chad Sports lock us in for the best 1. Hey tyler you better be praying hard because he said wants to go to the heat, the rockets, or the spurs. He is not going to Toronto. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN WE ARE COOKED!!

  2. JK can get to the basket but he can’t make free throws. So he is useless there

He’s a skilled defensive player who can guard the best player on the other team but he’s more concerned with scoring than passing it to the best player to ever shoot in the game.

He is capable of rebounding but does not rebound enough for his athleticism.

I don’t see this huge upside. If you can’t play and thrive with someone like Curry, can’t make free throws, and do other common important things on the court how exactly are you going to be a vital piece of the puzzle. Anywhere. At. All. JK if you read this focus on fundamentals and stop practicing with your besties in the Congo and use the warriors resources and trainers to dramatically improve and show me I’m wrong…

  3. “I’m looking for an expanded role within the team, but I don’t want to earn it by playing team basketball. I just want them to pass me the ball and let me dunk it.”

  4. I’m just glad this guy isn’t the GM. He talks everyday like he knows what is best for GSW with these crazy trades and pickups.

  5. According to owners/GM/fans; just fire Curry/Green/Butler and let Jk/Moody/Podz run the show; they’re the face-of-future; will lead them 10-more-rings; JK gonna be on Mr Rushmore! Lol

  6. If he trade jk to Mia get bam or Wiggins if you trade him to the bulls get Vec n Coby white if u trade him to Brooklyn get cam or nic Clayton
