Jaylen Brown To Nets, Ja Morant To Nets | 5 Brooklyn Nets Trades That Could Happen In 2025

so in this NBA trade rumors video I am going to be talking about five Brooklyn Nets trades that could happen in 2025 in my personal opinion As always leave your thoughts down below in the comments section of this video Let’s get right into it So the first Brooklyn Nets trade that I think could happen in 2025 or this off season is Trey Young of the Atlanta Hawks So there actually has been a little bit of speculation this off season uh regarding Trey Young and his future in Atlanta Now in my personal opinion I don’t see a world where the Hawks are going to be actively shopping Trey Young but sort of with how this team has been built the last couple years the emergence of players like Jaylen Johnson Tyson Daniels and then of course you know former first overall draft pick Zach Reese this means that the Trey Young experiment could definitely be coming to an end all things considered So if Trey Young were to be dealt on the trade market or I guess put on the trade market this offseason and ultimately dealt I think the Brooklyn Nets would make a ton of sense for him So Trey Young this past year for the Hawks put up a pretty good season He of course led the entire NBA in assists and truthfully speaking is one of the best offensive point guards in basketball So or this past year for trailing in Atlanta he had 76 games played 22 or 24.2 points per game 3.1 rebounds per game 11.6 assists per game He shot 41.1% from the field 34% from beyond the ark 87.5% from the free throw line and had 5.7 win shares So for Trey Young who’s only 26 years old he will of course be 27 years old uh next year in 2025 26 This guy’s in the prime of his career And if you’re the Brooklyn Nets you want to acquire some star talent this off season It’s probably not going to be in the form of Giannis at this point So if they want to pivot some players that could be available in my opinion could be Trey Young And if you’re the Atlanta Hawks the uh you know the the the Nets have some pieces that they could want back in return especially in regards to some big men So uh players like Cam Johnson or Nick Claxton come to mind And if for the Brooklyn Nets uh you could get your stars or your superstar point guard to build around for the foreseeable future So I think Trey Young fits this team perfectly well Now in regards to his contract Trey Young uh does have you know he’s going to be making $46 million next year and he does have a player option in 2026 27 for $48.9 million which I think you know truthfully speaking he probably would decline and then opt to resign uh a longer extension So I think that if the Brooklyn Nets were to acquire him they’d have to give this guy a gigantic contract Uh probably north of $50 million per season But if they want to get a start point guard a player that is actually hated in New York Of course Knicks fans don’t like this guy but this guy’s a villain I think him you know this would definitely uh raise up this Nets Knicks rivalry and this could be a really fun thing to see for the foreseeable future So the first player that I think the Nets could be trading for this off season is Trey Young of the Atlanta Hawks The second Brooklyn Nets trait that I think could happen this off season or in 2025 is Jaylen Brown of the Brooklyn Nets So the Boston Celtics want to cut some payroll this off season All signs point towards them probably getting rid of Drew Holiday andor Kristoffs Porzingis Uh both of which are making north of $30 million next year And if they’re able to get rid of those guys off the payroll especially with Hayden being injured this past season it gets them below the apron below the luxury tax and they won’t be paying as much for next season So uh for the ownership group in Boston it may be in their best interest to kind of clear some cap space and Jaylen Brown might be kind of the best combination of both in this situation where you can get back a pretty good amount in return for him and you can also get rid of his contract uh and uh you know get some pretty good value that way So Jaylen Brown this past year for Boston had himself a pretty solid season He put up 63 games played 22.2 points per game 5.8 rebounds per game 4.5 assists per game He shot 46.3% from the field 32.4% from beyond the ark uh 76.4% from the free throw line and had 5.2 win shares So for Jaylen Brown who’s going to be 29 years old next year a little bit older of an option compared to Trey Young and not really too sure if Jaylen Brown truthfully has what it takes uh to be the best player on a championship caliber team So I question the fit a little bit in Brooklyn in regards to him being like the main piece or the guy to kind of build the franchise around But uh if Boston wants to get back some good return I think Jaylen Brown could definitely fetch that because he’s a good combination of a player that is in the prime of his career a really solid player offensively speaking defensively speaking as well Uh he’s a decent presence for them and they could get back quite a bit for him in my in my personal opinion compared to the other players like Drew Holiday and Porzingis where they’re going to be after getting back some bad contracts or whatever and they just won’t be maximizing in regards to at the end of the day trading some pretty decent players as well So I think Jaylen Brown going to the Brooklyn Nets could make some sense Uh you know he of course was supposed to be a Brooklyn Net back in the day but because of those draft picks traded in the Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett trade That’s why he’s been on Boston and the rest and the rest is history So Jaylen Brown in regards to his contract it’s pretty decent Now it is a lengthy commitment and it is an expensive contract So if you don’t believe in Jaylen Brown longterm then he’s probably not a fit here But Jaylen Brown is in the second year of a 5-year deal uh this year coming up he’s going to make $53 million After that it jumps up to 57 61 and then 65 million bucks a year in 2028 29 So for the Boston Celtics they could be looking to get rid of this contract before it maybe turns into a bad one And if you’re the Brooklyn Nets you want a superstar So could this happen potentially uh leave your thoughts down below But the second player is Jaylen Brown of the Boston Celtics The third Brooklyn Nets trade that I think could happen in 2025 is John Morant of the Memphis Grizzlies So this is following the trade that happened a couple days ago now that’s a pretty big blockbuster of Desmond Bane getting traded for a ton of draft capital Cole Anthony and Contavius Caldwell Pope to the Orlando Magic So could this trade of Desmond Bane to the Magic potentially spark a John Morant and or a Jiren Jackson Jr trade from the Grizzlies and turn this team into a full-blown rebuild it very well could So John Morant’s time in Memphis I don’t think is solidified for next year And sort of like with Jaylen Brown and Trey Young uh if the Nets want to capitalize on maybe some star players being available John Morant could be this guy Now John Morant is going to be 26 years old next year I believe the youngest player on this list on this list if I’m not mistaken So if the Nets want to get the future of their franchise who’s only 25 years old I think John Morant could definitely be that guy Now John Morant the last couple years hasn’t been able to stay on the court for a full season He’s a bit of a smaller point guard Obviously not as uh doesn’t have as much muscle on him as maybe some other guys So he has you know just and just the way this guy plays as well injuries are going to happen like the last you know four years I guess even throughout his career like his season high in career games played for a season is 67 Like last year he played 50 before that nine before that 61 So a little bit turbulent and maybe a bit of a risk there But uh you know when he’s on the court he’s one of the best in the game Like this past year John Morance played in 50 games averaged 23.2 points 4.1 rebounds and 7.3 assists He shot 45% uh from the field 30.9% from three 82% from the free throw line and had 3.5 win shares So not a player that shoots particularly well from beyond the arc but he’s a very uh athletic player Uh he kind of plays like Russell Westbrook of course where he’s you know hard to play against gets gets to the basket draws a lot of contact but then injuries of course will come with that So John’s a fun player to watch He could definitely be uh you know the best player on this Brooklyn Nets team He’s a heart and soul guy He could give it his all I truly do believe that Uh but the only risk I would say is just his availability of staying on the basketball court So in regards to his contract he’s in the middle of a 5-year deal This is going to be his third season Uh getting $39.4 million next year After that $42 million Then after that $44.9 million So expensive especially for a player that might only play 50 to 60 games a season But if you’re the Brooklyn Nets and you want to get a star player the Grizzlies could be heading in that direction And if the Brooklyn Nets want to give up some draft capital which they acquired um in the male Bridges trade this could be a pretty cool fit between the Grizzlies and the Nets in regards to a John Morant trade destination So the third player is John Morant of the Memphis Grizzlies The fourth Brooklyn Nets trade that I think could happen this off season or in 2025 is Michael Porter Jr of the Denver Nuggets Now in regards to all the players on this list I think MPJ is probably the player that I would value the least uh compared to the other players that I have mentioned Michael Porter Jr is a really solid player when he’s healthy He’s still relatively young as well He’s going to be 27 years old uh during the 2025 26 campaign and he has championship experience Uh so that’s pretty good to bring to the table as well So I don’t think you want Michael Porter Jr being your best player you know in a man a perfect scenario If he’s your number two or even a number three option that’s probably the ideal uh situation for him And that’s kind of where he’s at right now uh with the Denver Nuggets But this Nuggets team wants to get a little bit deeper Uh it really showed this past uh you know NBA playoffs in their series against the Oklahoma City Thunder where they just didn’t quite have the depth to compete for a championship So I think the idea for them would be to trade Michael Porter Jr get back some bench pieces or some role players in return and kind of build more depth that way So this past year for Michael Porter Jr in Denver he played in 77 games averaged 18.2 points per game seven rebounds and 2.1 assists Uh he shot 50.4% from the field 39.5% from beyond the ark 76.8% from the free throw line and had 6.4 win shares So all things considered a really solid year for Michael Porter Jr uh this past year in Denver I think that if Denver were to make a move with their current core I think MPJ is probably the odd man out uh early on in his career had some injury concerns The last couple years though he has been relatively healthy So uh that’s a good thing if you are a team like the Brooklyn Nets who are acquiring this guy And unlike the other players as well I don’t think MPJ will cost them as much in regards to assets and draft capital So if you’re looking for a bit of a cheaper alternative and a team in Denver that might want to get back some more depth in return I definitely think that a Michael Porter Jr trade to the Brooklyn Nets could be in store and you can also retain some of your assets as well as it probably won’t cost you too much in my opinion compared to the other players mentioned So the fourth player is Michael Porter Jr of the uh Denver Nuggets And in regards to his contract quickly he has two more years left making $38 million this year and then $40.8 million the year after So a two-year commitment It could be a very good deal Uh you know all things considered So uh yeah the fourth player MPJ of the Nuggets The fifth player that I think the Brooklyn Nets could be trading for in 2025 is Austin Reeves of the Los Angeles Lakers So just like the other players I think Austin Reeves definitely fits the bill for this Brooklyn Nets team Uh he just turned 27 years old He’s in the prime of his career and I think truthfully speaking could definitely blossom uh with a change of scenery and maybe more of an increased role So this past year for Austin Reeves was phenomenal for him Uh in 73 games he averaged 20.2 points per game 4.5 rebounds per game 5.8 assists per game Uh he shot 46% from the field 37.7% from beyond the ark 87.7% from the free throw line and had 7.6 win shares So Austin Reeves very solid player I think that if he were to go to the Brooklyn Nets he could absolutely turn into a superstar on this team Now Austin Reeves is a little bit more intriguing because his cap hit is significantly lower than the other players that I have mentioned Uh this year coming up in 202526 he’s only going to make $14 million in regards to his cap hit In the year after that he has a player option for 15 which I think at this point it’s probably in his best interest to decline and get a big-time bag after that So you’re really only acquiring him uh on a bit of a discount financially speaking for next year and it’s going to get quite a bit expensive you know beyond that But also too the Brooklyn Nets have some pieces that could be intriguing to the Lakers Like for example could a Nick Claxton trade uh get this deal done i think it very well could The Lakers want a starting caliber center Nick Claxton can be that guy And there also some other options as well Like there’s Cam Johnson Uh there’s Cam Thomas Like there is some other players on this Brooklyn Nets roster that could be pretty intriguing in regards to a Austin Reeves Brooklyn Nets trade So I think Austin Reeves is a tremendous player I think that if he’s dealt this off seasonason it’s going to be for a starting center I think that class could be that guy So just from a team perspective from a fit perspective I think it actually could benefit both uh you know the Brooklyn Nets and the Los Angeles Lakers But uh what do you guys think an Austin Reed Brooklyn Nets trade looks like leave your thoughts So that is going to be it for this video Thanks again for watching Make sure to leave all your thoughts down below in the comment section of this
