so could the Minnesota Timberwolves be trading away Rudy Gobear to the Phoenix Suns this 2025 NBA off seasonason well here on the uh here on the screen is a trade proposal or a trade idea uh from ESPN.com the link to this article is down below in case you want to go ahead and check it out for yourself but this trade would see the Minnesota Timberwolves receiving Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns receiving Rudy Gobear Dante D vancenzo and Rob Dillingham now in my personal opinion the Wolves actually do have the assets to make a Kevin Durant trade work now it’s been pretty you know made pretty clear that Kevin Durant’s preference is not to go to Minnesota so uh the interest with Kevin Durant and the Timberwolves doesn’t seem to exactly be mutual uh so I’m not really too sure if that’s going to be a factor there especially with Kevin Durant not having a lengthy contract left uh so if you’re the Timberwolves this would be a one-year gamble perhaps you could definitely roll the dice uh maybe won a championship and then convince him to stay for the last little bit of his career um from basketball perspective Kevin Durant is exactly what this Timberwolves team needs a good running mate with Anthony Edwards uh if you can bring back uh Julius Randall in this scenario as well as keep good players like Jada McDaniels and Mike Connley in the mix this team could very well be the favorites to win a championship next year in a really stacked Western Conference so if Kevin Durant wants to prioritize winning a championship it might not get any better than this going to the Timberwolves like they could very easily be a Kevin Durant away from winning but you know maybe it’s a g geographical thing maybe it’s a weather thing whatever the case may be he just doesn’t want to go there at the end of the day now if you’re the Phoenix Suns this trade doesn’t really do it for me like you get Rudy Gobear’s contract like Rudy Gobear is a very solid player um I know people don’t exactly maybe love uh his game at times but defensively speaking he’s an anchor i think he could be a good compliment next to Devin Booker and the rest of this Sun’s team and he solidifies their center position so a good move there uh from basketball perspective getting Dantenzo as well he could definitely thrive in this Phoenix Suns offense as well as getting Rob Dillingham who didn’t really play a ton last year but perhaps with a change of scenery and maybe more of an increased role could blossom so I think if you’re the Phoenix Suns I would prioritize somehow getting Jada McDaniels back if possible but if this isn’t the case maybe you toss in a draft pick to get this uh over the finish line here but this could be a pretty good move for the Suns to make so in my personal opinion I would still kind of side with the Wolves in regards to the winners of this deal but if you’re the Phoenix Suns all things considered it’s a really solid trade package but those are just my thoughts leave yours down below
