Getting Zion Williamson back to great with the New Orleans Pelicans
what conversations have you and Joe had about getting Zion back on track because when when the Pelicans drafted and we had high hopes for Zion and he’s he’s hit some hit hits hit hit some mountain tops sometime but also he’s hit some valleys what’s that conversation like with Joe to kind of get one of your face your franchise one of the people that everybody recognizes get him back to where he could be an NBA possible all-star well it it it’s just getting back to the basics it’s um you know having taken pride and ownership in uh his ability to be on the floor and lead his teammates which he’s shown he can do at a high level um it’s it’s you know consistently you know working on the health component of health and conditioning is going to be important uh and and we all know when Zion’s on the floor you know he he’s one of the best players in in the NBA and so our goal is to get him on the floor get him healthy and then you know continue to work on just being simple if we can you know do the simple better than everybody else we we got a chance to be good and so getting healthy for our team will be important uh but he spearheads that and um you know we want to see the best version of of Z on the floor when we do we we know that he’s more than capable
In my 1-1 interview with Willie Green, I asked the Pelicans head coach about his conversations with Joe Dumars about getting Zion Williamson back to great.
