so could the Los Angeles Lakers be trading away Austin Reeves to the Utah Jazz this 2025 NBA offseason well here on the screen is a trade proposal or a trade idea from fadeawayorld.net the link to this article is down below in case you want to go ahead and check it out for yourself but this trade would see the Los Angeles Lakers receiving Walker Kesler Colin Ston and two second round draft picks and the Utah Jazz receiving Austin Reeves Dalton Connect Maxi Maxi Kleba uh and then removing connect removing protections on the 2027 first round draft pick and a 2028 first round pick swap so in my personal opinion this is a pretty intriguing trade for both sides it’s not from the Lakers perspective they get the center that they’re looking for in the form of Walker Kesler uh they’re getting back a really solid player uh that brings a lot of energy to the table for their back court and Colin Ston and a couple second round draft picks for potential you know trade capital down the road so uh this trade positionally speaking checks a lot of boxes for the Lakers now uh for the Utah Jazz they actually are getting back the best player in my opinion uh this of course being Austin Reese but they’re also getting back uh some other assets like Dalton Connect a first round draft pick he of course was involved in that voided Mark Williams trade that could be a steal for them maxi Kibboa more so just to make the money work uh getting back a couple draft picks as well is definitely a pretty good move for the Utah Jazz in my opinion so if you’re the Utah Jazz and you want to get a starter player to build around Austin Re could very well be that guy and if you’re the Los Angeles Lakers and you want to acquire and you want to acquire a a really good starting caliber center and maybe some other assets as well then yeah trading Austin Reeves you don’t want to do it but this might be the the cost of doing business at the end of the day so this trades more from the Lakers perspective of filling positional needs and from the Utah Jazz’s perspective it’s banking on young talent and hoping that Austin Reeves would thrive in a change of scenery potentially even him being the focal point of this team for the foreseeable future so if I had to pick a winner of this deal I’m actually going to side with the Utah Jazz because I am a pretty big fan of Austin Reeves uh but if you’re the Los Angeles Lakers it hurts giving up Reeves and connect but if you’re getting back Kesler and Ston and a couple draft picks it’s still a really good trade all things considered so those are just my thoughts leave yours down below
