welcome to another episode of Just Another Year Chicago Bulls my name is Philip Charles Vanderhayden the fourth and on this crazy day in the NBA we’ll be going over the occurrences that happened today including the game seven of the NBA finals and a Kevin Durant trade we will also mainly be going over the Kobe White trade offer that was reported on by locked on Bulls on this episode of Just Another Year Chicago Bulls and if you’re going to watch the finals tonight hit that like button i mean if you’re a basketball fan you got to right and you know what if if you’re not going to watch the finals if you have a team that you’re rooting for hit that like button but it is a jam-packed day in in National Basketball Association you guys like got to be honest i mean we do have a report for the Bulls today but we’re getting to that point where it’s just like a it’s very slow we’re in that weird area where yes the finals are being concluded and the draft’s about to happen and there’s a lot of rumors but there’s a lot of smoke but we did get some fire today other than game seven of the NBA finals which I will briefly talk about we had a Kevin Durant trade and I want to show you guys what this entails so the Phoenix Suns are trading Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets for Jaylen Green Dylan Brooks the number 10 pick and five second round picks first of all I didn’t never I don’t know if I’ve ever seen five second rounders go in one trade that’s that’s a new one for me but I just thought that it was worth bringing up because we’ve talked about different trades and all kinds of different things uh in Rebold and you know one of the things was uh the return for Kevin Durant and I got to be honest like this isn’t that much i thought that the Bulls might give up something but I it’s not as much as I thought or not the Bulls sorry I thought that whoever got Kevin Durant would give up something but I didn’t I didn’t think that the Houston Rockets paid too much i mean Jaylen Green clearly wasn’t in their plans if they’re going to get Kevin Durant they they clearly felt some type of way about his playoff performance and they’re looking to make the next step i thought they would have to give up a lot more first rounders to only give up this year’s uh is is pretty good so I’m curious i I just want to know from you guys obviously I’ll ask a question in a minute but then also you got game seven of the NBA finals tonight and I don’t know about you guys but I’m going to be locked in i’m very excited to to watch because I mean it’s basketball man what are we all doing here if we’re not basketball fans and there’s nothing better than game seven and there’s nothing better than game seven than game seven of the NBA finals y’all like it doesn’t get any better than that but I got two questions for you guys today the first question who do you have winning game seven of the finals tonight type P for Pacers T for Thunder i was cute and used the team name uh color or the team colors i gotta be honest you guys i think I’m going Pacers i think I’m going Pacers i know it doesn’t make sense they should lose but they feel like the team of destiny and I ride with teams like that like I guess I’m rooting for the Pacers you guys and I think uh that they’re going to win tonight uh I just do i feel like I have a feeling and do you think the Rockets made the right move by getting KD i know that these are not Bulls related questions but we’ll also talk about a Bulls report later and you can give me those opinions in the comments as well but I just like to we’re talking basketball man we we’re basketball fans we could talk basketball so I want to know if you guys thought that the Houston Rockets made the right move i’ll say this they are looking pretty dangerous and I’m glad they’re in the West thank you for outing Miami Houston he did us a solid but I think that yeah I mean my my thoughts are right here i think that the Indiana Pacers are going to pull off the upset and I think that Houston made a good move in pulling in getting Kevin Durant especially because they outbid the Miami Heat for anyone who didn’t know the Miami Heat were really coming down to the wire all the way till today they were saying that Miami was really making a bid to get KD i don’t know like if they would have been they would have been pretty good with KD but Houston’s more of a contender in my opinion with them still I’m glad that Kevin Durant’s not going to be in our conference cuz look man with our luck we’re going to play Miami in the freaking playin for the fourth year in a row next year and I’m I’d be happy if they weren’t uh stocked up with Kevin Durant just saying but we’re going to talk about the big Bulls news right now the Bulls turned down the magic it’s funny that this actually happened we talked about this on the channel you guys not long ago i feel like it’s been within the last week um but we talked about a magic deal where they were ready to offer Cole Anthony and John Jonathan Isaac and their first rounders for Kobe White or sorry they were ready to offer those pieces for a player that would in their eyes get them over the hump well I said that I would do that trade if I was the Bulls and they offered both of their first round picks well guess what happened that happened the Orlando Magic offered Cole Anthony Jonathan Isaac two first rounders and a pick swap to the Chicago Bulls for Kobe White sorry you know what actually they followed up on this there was no pick swap this was just the original tweet but uh this Twitter account followed up with a tweet right after that said there was no pick swap so this is literally the trade that I said that I would do and they offered it and they said no so I have mixed feelings here you guys i do love Kobe White he’s got a lot of talent he can be an elite scorer in this league like I think that there is a world where Kobe White can evolve to a 25 point per game scorer but man two first rounders you’re talking about the Bulls would have three first round picks this year cuz I think these are both in the first round this year i think they traded them 14 and 25 that that hurts a little bit man like if the Bulls had 12 14 and 25 i mean for Cole Anthony and Jonathan Isaac are like they’re the side pieces in this deal jonathan Isaac’s a nice player cole Anthony would have been a bench player but like that’s a real kickstart to your to your rebuild to your rebuild like you could take those three first rounders and flip that for a star player maybe or for a top five pick or something like I don’t know man i don’t know what the Bulls are planning to do with Kobe White but at this point AK has set the bar because Kobe White either has to be a part of the team that gets over the hump here in Chicago or whatever deal we end up getting for Kobe has to be better than this or you failed because if you end up waiting until the trade deadline and then you get a lesser deal because let’s say the Bulls aren’t good you know knock on wood I don’t have any wood knock on wood we’ll say that the Bulls let’s because we we believe on this channel right we believe that the Bulls can be good next year i think we’re going to have a winning record next year but for the sake of conversation let’s say that we don’t start well and we get to the trade deadline and it’s not looking good and there’s every reason to pull the fire alarm and get some assets because we have to continue to build this roster because it’s not right and you end up getting like one first round pick for Kobe that’s not it’s it’s going this we’re going to come back to this and we’re going to say aka come on brother cuz there’s multiple instances of him holding out for trades that never materialize or believing he’s going to get a better deal that never comes and then he ends up not getting as much or getting nothing that would be the worst case scenario if he lets this play out until free agency and then Kobe White signs with another team that would be disastrous one season of Kobe White playing for us if he’s going to walk is not worth letting him walk for nothing like let me be clear on that we’re not going to win the championship next year guys like let’s just be honest with that right we’re not going to go win a championship we can make the playoffs we’re not going to be there yet to win a title so if Kobe White plays this season and then walks and we get nothing that’s a problem and I will come on this channel I’m starting to get fired up thinking about it right now because it just feels like something AK might do and it better not happen because if you turn down two first round picks on the Orlando Magic where you could have had three firstrounders in this draft I will be pissed off i mean and you should be too Bulls Nation because that should be inexcusable now if we resign Kobe White and he’s a part of the team that gets us over the hump and into regular contention then then this was the right move but with this pick with this trade it was reported on by Lockdown Bulls by the way i don’t know if I said that and that that show was hosted by Hayes and Pat the Designer and Hayes was on our channel recently with a collaboration if you didn’t see it go check it out hayes is awesome but they work hard they wouldn’t report on it if it wasn’t true i believe what they’re saying because I believe that they ended up trading that package to the Grizzlies for Desmond Bane and I’m sorry i think that Kobe White’s a better more impactful player than Desmond Bane that’s my opinion and at least would have been so again I don’t want to linger too much but we said no you guys we said no i have very mixed feelings because I do believe in Kobe White’s potential he’s gotten better every year and I think he could be part of the solution but that playin game from last season does stick out in my mind when we needed Kobe the most disappeared josh Giddy didn’t disappear matas Boozels didn’t disappear look at their stat lines from the final they’re not bad look at Kobe’s he had more turnovers than shots made we need him to show up when it matters so I believe in Kobe but AK you’re putting your you know what on the line with this because now it’s either got to be results or it’s got to be a better deal and you better resign Kobe if it’s not a better deal because it can’t be him walking that is inexcusable at this point the offer was on the table and you passed on it so Kobe’s career is going to say it all we’re just going to have to
