Knicks Make SHOCKING Roster Decision! NY Bringing Back Guard After STRONG Playoff Run | Knicks News

we have a major update the Knicks are making roster moves and they have already decided what players are returning next season and what players they’re not going to bring back and one of the players they’re bringing back for next season I cannot believe he’s returning we’re going to break down all of these latest reports today but before we get started about 52% of you watching this video right channel the easiest way to do that is to hit that subscribe button and now let’s get started the Knicks are making moves the biggest obstacle to the Knicks improving this roster this off season is cap space they are limited with the amount of money they have to go out there and sign free agents that’s why many people believe the Knicks are just going to hire a new coach and more or less run it back however New York has already decided what players are going to come back and what players will not be returning next season and one of those players is Camp Payne shout out to John Hollinger of The Athletic for giving us this following information here according to him Campaign Cam could be a fallback option if others fall through but signing him would likely require dipping into the mid level according to Hollinger campaign turns 31 this summer and will be looking for a raise above his minimum deal of a year ago the Knicks can only offer him a 20% raise on his minimum deal to 4.36 million for the upcoming year unless they use their 5.7 million taxpayer mid-level exception more likely getting that raise will involve relocating so according to Hollinger it seems like campaign will not be returning next season for the Knicks and again it’s for the main reason we talked about earlier cap space campaign during the postseason didn’t have that many amazing moments so honestly if he doesn’t return next season it’s really not going to bother me he was supposed to be instant offense playing a little bit of defense he really didn’t do any of that during the postseason and honestly speaking Tyler Kle or Kevin McCuller Jr i would rather those rookies those young players get the minutes versus a veteran like Campaign i don’t want campaign back and honestly I’m happy he’s not going to return either elevate the rookies or bring in another free agent that you believe in that you know can help you off the bench and come in and can have an impact because that’s what New York needs more of impact players not players who come in and don’t do anything why are you on the team then we need players that come in and have a role more than that know their role and play it perfectly we can get more players like that will be in good shape but now that we know who’s not going to be returning next season what about the players that are going to be returning next season well we already know one of them i spoke about it in a video earlier on a couple of weeks ago landry Shamut is likely gonna return to this team next season but who else according to the latest reports Delon Wright is likely going to return for the Knicks next season and I don’t know about you guys but that is a shocking announcement out of all the players on the bench all the players potentially that could come back next season i did not expect to hear Don Wright even though he did pretty good during the postseason when he had those minutes I didn’t think that adequated to getting another role for this team next year but at least according to these latest reports it seems very likely that New York brings them back shout out to John Hollinger from The Athletic for giving us this following information according to him Don Wright struggled in Milwaukee before bouncing back a little bit with the Knicks picked up in a mid-season swap for Jericho Sims wright’s defense proved very valuable in the playoffs at 6 foot5 he’s a low usage combo guard with good defensive instincts though his inconsistent shooting limits his offensive impact hollinger continues here by stating a potential resigning on a minimum deal for the Knicks would be Landry Sheam who offers shooting and familiarity with the rest of the roster and James with the rest of the roster and James L edwards of The Athletic reports the following a couple of other names to consider with the taxpayer mid-level exception the Knicks could be looking at free agents Spencer Dimwy Trey Lyles and Al Horford in regards to players they currently have on the team that they could bring back I wouldn’t be shocked if the Knicks brought back the Wright and or Landry Shamid so even James L edwards believes that Don Wright and Landry Shamid both of them could potentially return for the Knicks next season and if that happens it does make a lot of sense because they have some chemistry with the team built already but even more than that they’re lowcost lowcost high impact players the exact players New York needs right now say what you want to say but Delon Wright potentially being back next season for New York I never expected that i’m not saying he was a bad player he definitely wasn’t when Jaylen Brunson was out via injury or we needed him during the postseason he showed up and showed out loved his defense loved what he was doing in terms of moving the ball getting others involved even though his shooting wasn’t great he still tried to shoot he still tried to be a threat and that’s exactly what you need to have with anybody on the floor he has to be able to touch the ball and do something with it and I thought he was capable but even though I thought that I never believed he would be back with this team next season because honestly he fits more the Tom Thibido mold not saying no team doesn’t need his defense of course we do but I thought if Tibido was still the head coach it would make a lot more sense to bring him back without Thibs at the helm I didn’t think he would come back but the fact that he is that tells you New York is prioritizing more or less running this roster back and only making a few changes maybe adding some more depth some more bench pieces hopefully we add more size because that’s what we really need wings another center that type of size helps New York in the matchup category you got to remember in the postseason it’s all about matchups how many players you’re utilizing minutes distribution so many factors but you need to be able to look at everything and make the right call and you need the right players on the floor to be able to do that that’s why having a player back like Don Wright while it’s shocking it’s not too surprising given his impact and what he did during the postseason with Landry Shamut let me just say this about Sham when MSG is chanting your name very loudly because you’re making a very good defensive play defensive play on TJ McConnell yeah I think it might warrant bringing that player back even for just one more season it’s not like we utilized him correctly because honestly we didn’t he missed a large part of the season because he was injured and even when he was back we really didn’t use him off the bench like we should have and even during the postseason we had to be forced and pushed to really use our bench and it should never be that way when you have a sniper like Landry Shamut on your bench one of the best three-point shooters to close out the season for the Knicks when you have him on the bench how can you allow him to just sit there and not do anything you need to utilize the players more and that’s why I believe not only because of the cap I just believe that New York feels that a new voice leading this team can change everything because I believe that a new voice can really lead to change especially if that voice can reach other players or maybe reach a part of players that Tom Thiido was not able to reach sometimes year in and year out when you hear the same consistent voice you start to tune it out i’m not saying that happened to Tom Thiido that just happens over time regardless so getting a new coach in here right now with the team we have right now how good we are how good we can be and all the additions we can still make to this team to make us even better i am very hopeful for this Knicks team moving forward i believe we have all the pieces to compete for a title the only thing we need is somebody else leading the charge somebody else telling us what we need to do in certain situations and maybe if we have that maybe this Knicks team goes even further than we did this year and if that’s the case next season we just hit another goal make it to the NBA finals and once you’re there you got one shot to cash your ticket break the drought and bring a championship home to New York City a place that has been waiting for a chip for 50 plus years this Knicks team I feel it in my bones they’re going to be the one to break this drought all we need is the right people in place the right players in place and the right front office in place and I think all of that is slowly coming together especially with the roster as you can see New York has identified the weak links and the players we should bring back and it sounds like Leon Rose is doing an amazing job right now but what about you
