How Much is Too Much To Give Up When Getting Giannis Help?

How Much is Too Much To Give Up When Getting Giannis Help?

three Bucks trades that don’t involve Giannis but do any of them make sense and is one one that we semi predicted earlier camille and I get into the latest coming up after this on today’s Locked on Bucks you are Locked on Bucks your daily Milwaukee Bucks podcast part of the Locked on Podcast Network your team every day welcome into Lockdown Bucks i’m Justin Garcia joined as always by Camille Davis we thank you for making this your first listen of the day each and every day you can hear me on the Bucks Radio Network you can find Camille on the Technical File podcast and on the Locked On NBA podcast as well today’s episode of the show is brought to you by Game Time download the Game Time app create an account and use the code locked on NBA for $20 off your first purchase so uh Camille ESPN put out an article I think this was Zack Cra that did all of them formerly of the Ringer um or at least did a few of these where they surveyed their NBA experts and writers and and started off with basically what can the Bucks do this summer uh they started out with some comps between the Bucks and the Lakers a few summers back or excuse me the Cavs a few summers back when they were constantly facing this will LeBron James leave or won’t he uh decision went through everything that the Bucks had done leading up to this point obviously the Chris Middleton trade what they have available to them as we have gone over quite a bit and it leads us to okay now that we got all the particulars out of the way what can they do and um surpris price of the summer this wasn’t eight trades sending Giannis away from the Bucks though the majority of the proposed trades were that we still got three non Giannis getting traded uh proposals here so we wanted to one by one just walk through these see what made sense if any of these deals the specifically retaining Giannis deals that was so there was three of them uh one was a three-team trade we’ll get to in a moment one was a standard two team trade that has a pretty big bullet for the Bucks to bite and then the other one was something that uh you and I had brought up previously and said “Well does this make sense?” And you look at the contracts of the players involved and the assets that it would require and said “Well let’s keep this one out there on the radar.” We’ll start with that one uh the first proposal here to go through and this one is by Zack Cra has the Bucks sending Kyle Kosma their 2031 first round pick and a pick swap in 2032 to the Brooklyn Nets for Cam Johnson which I I believe we almost verbatim Yeah minus the pick swap said well what about this one when you look at the contract of Kyle Koosma there’s two years remaining contract actually goes down in value year after year I believe it’s basically the exact same as what Cam Johnson is making he’s making 22.4 four this year 20.3 next year is Kyle Kosman and then in the case of Cam Johnson he’s making 20.5 this year 22.5 next year they’re about the same age as Kosma’s about to turn 30 cam Johnson just turned 29 um obviously Cam Johnson has some more value attached to his name so you know I suppose we don’t have to go too far in depth on this one cuz we already brought it up but what did you think when you saw that one included that’s one that I’ve we’ve tossed around as you mentioned before of like well Cam Johnson does a lot of the things that you would be looking for in a wing player next to Giannis um in addition to his size playing defense he can shoot the ball uh he shot 39% from three this last season on pretty decent value he was taking about seven threes a game um and knocking down 39% of them when you think about his ability to stretch the floor uh get to some buckets there in addition to the defense he is the kind of player that fits now ideally it would be someone a couple years younger than 28 29 uh but again when you’re looking at what he can do on the court he’s someone that can fit the question then becomes is it worth the 2031 first round draft pick in addition to that a pick swap the following year with the Nets so that’s the piece of it like initially when I thought about I was like man I think I would do this and now I’m kind of like I’m not as sure like he is somebody who kind of fits the mold of the type of players that I tend to like for horse to bring in where it’s like not not an allstar but there’s a pathway for a little bit more opportunity here which should increase your numbers going forward so uh on the surface I would not do this deal the 2031 and 2032 draft capitals is too much for a Ken Johnson type player he’s 29 years old as we mentioned he’s going to turn 30 during the season um at that point you are what you are i think he is a good shooter he’s basically when you look at all of his splits in in the locations that he’s shooting from he’s above average essentially everywhere um not so much in mid-range but I don’t really care about that but he’s an above average field goal shooter he’s an above average corner three shooter he’s above average on on making threes his size allows him to finish at the rim too where he’s above average there he doesn’t do anything great in terms of shooting the ball he just gives you above average marks now is it better than who he would be replacing offensively yes but he’s not a great rebounder um I think as time has gone by and and the dangerous part of this is what you mentioned how much is it of it is the environment but I do think defensively sure he can help you but he’s more of a team defender and I don’t think he’s quite the defender that he gets talked up to be at times so basically you’re looking at in this trade an upgrade at that position no doubt and he would I assume be your starting three alongside Giannis and you look at a world where hopefully you retain Gary Trent Jr we talked about oh boy is it a much larger market for Kevin Porter Jr and you’re looking at potentially a starting five of those two guys in the back court Cam Johnson and Giannis in the front court if Bobby Portoris opts in or if you work on an extension Bobby Portoris maybe that other name that I won’t mention um and you okay that’s a pretty decent starting five again it’s not Indiana it’s not even Orlando with what they pieced together but you got Giannis so you can feel confident in that to me it just comes back to he’s going to be 30 years old yeah I don’t know how much more growth there is even with an expanded role and there’s nothing in there that’s great it’s just this is upgrades over what we have and it’s above average to me cam Johnson’s the player you trade for when he’s the final piece we got everything else around him we just need this to put us over the top i don’t think that’s going to be the case for the Bucks the draft capital is too much for me to include and you know while you could say well Brooklyn can probably get better offers we know they’ve been asking for multiple firsts for uh Cam Johnson you’re getting two relatively tantalizing picks and I think it’s too for the Nets because uh or twofold for the Nets because you know as we’ve talked about before the danger trade in that 2031 pick the chances are Giannis is either gone or not the player that he currently is when you get into the 2030 season five years from now the other part of it is you know if you’re Brooklyn I’m more inclined to do this trade than I am to take multiple firsts not only for that reason but also because if this doesn’t work if he’s not the final piece and that’s everything the Bucks had there’s nothing more they can do even with more flexibility next summer there’s no more assets for the foreseeable future until 2033 that’s when the chatter of do they have to trade Giannis does Giannis ask for a trade more specifically becomes even more unavoidable and if you’re Brooklyn that’s a guy they’ve been linked to and you can say “Well we got these two things of yours we’ll start a package around giving you those things back and some other things.” Yeah and that makes sense i mean even when you look at all the chatter that’s around Kevin Durant right now and all the Phoenix to Houston conversations like from what I’ve gathered a lot of that is Phoenix reaching out to Houston of like “Hey you got some of our draft picks here don’t you want to give those back if I can give give you Kevin Durant?” and the you know the Rockets are like to a certain degree like we’re not trying to sell the farm here but I think your point about that draft pick being that attractive to the Nets for that reason is really really valid because as I mentioned you’re you’re seeing it kind of play out now with Phoenix trying to get some of their draft capital back um for a superstar that’s a bit older um and not necessarily someone who draw back the same type of uh return that a Giannis would at this point so I definitely get that and ultimately uh again when thinking about the direction of this team going forward redoing this offensive scheme with the ball being in Giannis’s hands going all forward this year with a move for just one singular player would indicate as you mentioned like you’re pretty close this one guy can really change the the the the calculus for your team and I don’t see that with this trade accomplishing that like another trade to look at for example is like down in Orlando yes you can say it was an overpay for Desmond Bane but like he fits what they’re looking to do so perfectly in a conference that they feel is wide open so why not take this chance right now to get a player who we think can push over the top i don’t think Cam Johnson alone can push the Bucks over the top i do think he’d be a good piece uh just because of what he can do as you mentioned above average shooting all over the floor uh can play some decent defense good size so like yeah but for the 2031 first ann pick pick swap the year after I I think it’s a little steep there’s one modification I would make and I’m curious if that sways you at all on that deal so I do want to dig into that coming up after this and then uh deal number two that was proposed by ESPN we’ll get into that after we get a refreshing update here from Camille coming up after this refreshing might even be an understatement because Lollipop is a brand new type of soda it’s made for people who love the classic taste of soda but they want something that can support their health lollipop has just two to five grams of sugar and 9 g of prebiotic fiber in every single can so Lollipop is reimagining soda in a way that’s better for your gut traditional sodas are loaded with sugar like 39 gram of sugar and Coke 44 gram of sugar and orange Fanta lollipop flips that script with just a fraction of the sugar no artificial sweeteners and gut- friendly ingredients like Alismart which is a blend that is shown to support digestive and overall health it is a soda that tastes like the real thing but actually does something good for your body i have mentioned me and this grape lollipop have gone together real bad since I’ve gotten my cans listen this grape flavor is fantastic and it feels good to actually open up a soda that supports your gut health rather than something that just pleases your taste buds for a moment like something that tastes good and is also good for your body is lollipop something that just tastes good but gives you a lot of empty calories a lot of sugar is regular soda and I’ve noticed the difference drinking lollipop compared to traditional sodas so when I tell you the grape grape y’all this one right here you hear that clicking on the can that one right here that’s the one I would recommend you try you can get a free can of Lollipop yourself just buy any two cans in the store and they will reimburse you for one head to drink.com/lockedonba to claim your free can and to find lollipop near you that’s drinkallipop.com/lockedonba so the before we move on to the other two deals the modification I would make and and again why that 2031 for the Bucks to me carries increased value is not only what 2030 brings for the Bucks and where if we are being honest they’re very likely to be in their positioning in the NBA but the fact that as as we’ve talked about and I do think this is worth a deep dive at some point this summer the number of teams that have already offloaded assets in terms of draft capital we’re we’re suddenly reaching a point where it feels like six teams basically own every single draft pick from now until 2031 um that just adds to the urgency and desperation for the Bucks with that trade because when you look at other teams that are down bad around that that uh time period the Suns already traded their 2031 first um teams that have a bulk of those picks can say like “No you’re not getting that.” Like we’ll give you these but you’re not getting that whereas the Bucks that’s all we have to play so if you’re another team you can say “Okay forget it we can’t work out a deal.” the old you know buying a car tactic and it works a little different when that’s all you got so that’s one thing that makes me very very hesitant about uh the inclusion of that deal but what if So I would I’ll say this too if that’s a trade that ultimately happens it’s one that you wait until late into the off season later at least of uh let me get back to you got to go back and talk to the wife about the price on this car and I’ll get back to you uh because all right let’s see what else we got if there’s nothing else and we have committed to is the reports are out there bucks are actively pursuing ways to upgrade the roster around Giannis there’s nothing else we know this is going to help us and make us better we can revisit this but hey we’ll do it we’ll give you the 2031 um we’ll do a 2032 pick swap we get our pick back this summer as well i mean yeah that makes it a little bit more interesting there because it’s what number 19 in the draft I believe this year yeah has what four or five picks in the first they’re not making four picks in the first half right so that that giving some draft capital back especially this draft in particular I know next year’s draft is going to be looked at as a little bit deeper than what this year’s is and with the amount of guys that went back to school uh looking to continue to improve their draft stop and also just cash in on an NIL money and more consistent playing time and being a second round draft pick um in this upcoming draft here this year so like that part makes it a little bit more interesting but I don’t see the Nets being like you know what yeah here here you guys go let’s give you this back when you’re giving us Kyle Kosma who is at this point an asset that uh needs to to show a little bit more to really be someone who can fetch you something back in return uh because although the start in Milwaukee got off pretty decently um him not being someone to contribute regular playoff minutes for the squad other teams around the league saw that as well so um there’s some rehab to the value that would be needed to have for Kyle Kosma so I I don’t see the Nets being like “Yeah we’ll we’ll give you that back for the 31 and Cam Johnson but if they would then I would definitely be a little bit more interested.” Yeah and you know next summer I I got to pull up the list of names but next summer is a better class in terms of free agents much better than this summer um yeah Jiren Jackson Jr Julius Randall potentially out there again kevin Durant potentially Luca Donuch is a player option paulo has to get paid so you go up and down the list dear Fox there’s a lot of names that are going to be out there next summer and the one thing with that deal is you’re not taking on money if you’re Brooklyn and next year that becomes an expiring deal where it’s 20 plus million 20 20 million to say “Okay here’s this if you want this off your books we can take something else and uh pair that with who we hope to go big game hunting for this off seasonason so it looks bad now but next summer it’s a little different on the front of that uh that Kyle Kosma contract but yeah to me it’s just that can’t be it it can’t be just Cam Johnson for the uh the 2031 first round pick deal number two is a three-team trade involving the Bucks Chicago Bulls and the Orlando Magic so in this trade the Bulls would get Kyle Kosma Andre Jackson Jr and a 2031 second round pick i believe that’s the Bucks pick in this one okay the Magic would get Pat Conetan Jaylen Smith and Javon Carter from the Bulls uh 2031 firstrounder from the Bucks 2032 first round pick swap with the Bucks and the Bucks would get Wendell Carter IO Dumu and Jet Howard so you’re getting in three pieces in this trade uh if you were the Bucks but once again you’re giving up not just 2031 first and that 2032 uh firstrounder pick swap but also that 2031 second round pick as well wendell Carter’s 26 years old um Jet Howard is around 20 yeah and then um going to turn 22 this this upcoming season here and then the final piece in Io Dumo again you’re adding younger talent in this deal there’s certainly some intrigue there dumu is 25 years old so you’re bringing in three pieces that are 26 and younger but it’s three quarters to make up a dollar it feels like yeah i was like do those three players really make you better now Wendle Carter Jr is somebody who I had interest in we talked about him a bit last offseason and he would certainly fit what you’re looking to replace if Brook Lopez is gone absolutely does absolutely does jet Howard is a very young player not a great three-point shooter at this point uh in his young career hasn’t really shown anything from distance in his first two years in the league but has some other intangibles that are that are interesting about him good size and I Dumo like he had an injury played year last year for the Chicago Bulls and I could see them wanting to get off of him uh with Josh Giddy coming to town and just being able to have a little bit more ball handling there but ultimately the the players you’re giving up for the Bucks in that trade a Pat Conington who’s on an expiring Kyle Koozman who we’ve already discussed Andre Jackson Jr which I know for some Bucks fans would be like a is that the young guy we want to we want to send out but also someone who I think as I’ve mentioned this off season is going to be really really big for Andre Jackson Jr like if this is this is the year where he has to try to put it together um offensively a little bit more I think for this team but ultimately giving up not only the 31 first round pick and then the pick swap but also another second two that feels like a lot for three young players who I don’t know if they necessarily put you into a a contending tier like they give you some interesting things for sure i’m I’m interested uh but if the draft capital was that steep I would need a little bit more than just like I’m interested in seeing how this plays out this I think was clearly the worst of the three deals for the Bucks because of the draft capital that you’re once again giving up because of the fact that I don’t think any of those players and we just kind of picked through the warts of uh Cam Johnson i don’t think any of those players are close to Cam Johnson um but most importantly you’re not when Dell Carter’s improved his shooting through the years you’re not doing anything to address your spacing you’re making it worse with those two guys in Io Dumu and Jet Howard putting those pieces around Giannis and that’s what we you got to lean into two-way guys that can shoot where Giannis is going to be your big and your point guard just surround him with shooters and guys that can hold up defensively to me this doesn’t solve that so this I have ranked the lowest on my board of proposed trades which may sound crazy when we go through the two names and one specifically that was proposed in the final deal here so we’ll uh run through the details on that one coming up after this on Locked on Bucks time to talk to you now about our friends over at Game said I would rank that third i think I would put the Cam Johnson deal number one that leaves us with the third and final option which I’m slotting there in the middle this one does not involve the Bucks giving up the 2031 firstrounder or a 2032 first round pick swap this one um which will appease a lot of Bucks fans includes Pat Coneton being shipped away but the deal is Pat Conetan and Damen Lillard go to the Phoenix Suns for Bradley Beal Royce O’Neal and the Suns uh 2025 this summer next week first round pick which is number 29 overall it is not their own it was parts I believe of that uh three quarters for a dollar trade where they traded their 2031 firstrounder for three first so you don’t give up any draft capital you send out less money because of Phoenix’s cap situation they can’t take back more and you get a player that is going to play now basically in Bradley Beal get a wing piece albeit an older one in Royce O’Neal and you even get a firstrounder to add to the mix but it involves Bradley Beal which is a polarizing name it also includes Bradley Beal having to sign off on his no trade clause so he has this year under contract for $53.6 million which is about a million less than Damen Lillard and then he has a 57.1 million player option next summer dame has a 58.4 million player option next summer um I do wonder if so in this scenario if this trade were to happen per se i do think in terms of fit it gives Bradley Beal a better opportunity to uh rehab his value and then I don’t know that it’s a given he would pick up the player option maybe he opts out and signs a three for 120 type of thing uh I suppose I would still side towards him picking that up as like a 60 there but you can talk yourself into that fit i do wonder what that means about your pursuit over Gary Trent Jr as that would be kind of redundant since we both agreed I think Gary Trent Jr needs to start on this team we saw the fit of Bradley Beal either trying to play point guard or moving up to a three in that team with Phoenix last year and last two years it didn’t work but to me you know the biggest thing number one it it also kind of feels like you would do Dame dirty a little bit there and um the biggest thing why I just even if Bradley Beal were to say “Yeah I’ll sign off on this.” I just don’t see this as being feasible is Phoenix would be taking on player that at best is not going to play until probably mid late March April and losing Bradley Beal now you could say well look what the Clippers said about Paul George as an addition by subtraction but Phoenix has no incentive to be bad next season even though they’re going to uh very likely be bad so they can’t really say “Okay we’ll just view this as a quote unquote gap year and play for next year.” Uh because they’re in the same boat as the Bucks with their assets that have been kicked down the road and and not having that and basically just saying it’s Devin Booker and whatever we get for Kevin Durant doesn’t feel like that’s going to be a good team and in terms of gift wrapping whoever it is I can’t even remember now that has the 2026 first round of the Suns a pretty good deal yeah a very good deal um at this point and this is one of the trades when I saw it I was like I don’t know if Phoenix would do this i I know Phoenix really does want to get off the Bradley Bill contract which I can imagine but that no trade clause can be a bear uh to work around there because he has the right to refuse any location that he does not want to go to in addition to that uh they’d be bringing back Dame who probably would not play for most of the season in a year when they’re trying to pitch their franchise cornerstone Devin Booker on hey we’re we’re going to we’re we’re re-evaluating how we’re doing things we want to take this seriously we want to build around you we want a winner so on and so forth and then it’s like but you went out and traded for a player who we won’t be able to see until very very late on into the season um that’s the part of it for me where it’s like for Phoenix I don’t know if they would do it for the Bucks um this is a deal that I would consider a lot more if they strike out on Gary Trent Jr if something happens this summer where it’s like we cannot bring Gary Trent Jr back he signs for too much money elsewhere and then you’re looking like well who else can we put in that shooting guard spot then I would consider a little bit more from the Buck side of things again don’t know why Phoenix would do that and on top of that you wouldn’t have um you wouldn’t be able to make the pick in the first round for yourself it would be that player just being traded at that point if you know you can’t get Gary Trent Jr back assuming this is happening in free agency so on and so forth so there’s a a piece of that where it’s like you have to like who they picked in addition to getting back Bill and Roy O’Neal who’s a little bit older doesn’t really fit the the type of player that I’m looking for the Bucks to bring back in in this stage for the Bucks rebuild or retool gap year whatever you want to call it um so it’s one of those trades where it’s like I love that you don’t have to give up assets yourself uh but taking back that bill contract for this year next year I think he opts in to that player option next year gets that money um I don’t know like I I wouldn’t be thrilled with it um but again if they didn’t get Gary Trent Jr back i could talk myself into it and yeah to your point um this isn’t a deal that could be made before the draft so it would have to be you agreed in principle to the trade the Suns select that pick at 29 i think it’s the Cavs pick that they have so they take that pick that player’s included so I mean you’re basically shadow GM telling the Suns “This is the guy that we want.” And then the trade is consummated afterwards um you know the other thing to not like about that one is we’ve spent a lot of time already this off seasonason saying I think we’ve moved into the era where Yiannis needs to be the oldest player on this team and that deal would bring you Bradley Beal who’s going to turn 32 I believe before the season starts and Royce O’Neal who’s already 32 years old so um their contracts both we think run up uh run through next season depending on what Bradley Beiel does with that player option but yeah I mean you the good part is hey you’re not giving up draft assets here the bad part is you know even that first round inclusion it’s the 29 overall um you can’t in you can’t do anything with it either i mean that’s the other valuable piece of getting first round picks in deals is if it’s a future it opens up a pick for us to trade down the road or it’s something that we can trade and add that to a package and that’s not the case here so yeah I I mean I don’t like this one much better than that Magic Bulls three-way deal i think those are both well below that Brooklyn Nets proposed deal for Cam Johnson but the the gist of it all is none of these are the trade none of these three are the perfect deal if you had to squint and talk yourself into one it’s it’s clearly that Brooklyn Nets trade but even then as as we said I think you got to push hard for 20 32 pick swap is not there and or hey you give us our pick back this year or even the later pick that you have which I think is 26 in this first round from the Brooklyn Nets but we need something else other than just Cam Johnson for the entire future that we’re giving you yeah could not agree more with that and that’s the tricky part of it when you’re so asset strapped like the Bucks trying to make a move this off season uh when you only have that 2031 draft pick really to throw out there plus that pick swap in 32 um it limits you and for me I would rather the Bucks hold on to that throughout this off season um and see what they can do in free agency now if your agency does not shake out in a way where you feel you can put together a team that’s going to you know even be able to compete for that top six seed in the East then consider some things but if you’re able to make it through this summer with that draft pick still in tow and then you get to next off seasonason where you have access to a few more draft picks a few more things you put on the table because of the stepping rule like then like you might be able to get you what you’re actually looking for but can you just wait for that right deal to come um in front of you and on top of that can you find maybe some gyms if not in the draft also just through free agency through your two ways because one thing that horse has done well like the draft picks yes there there’s definitely to be desired with the draft picks that have been made uh but he has done a good job in the scouting department this front office has done a good job finding guys to put into those two-way slots uh you’re looking at Ryan Rollins and AJ Green now of guys who are looking to contribute to this Bucks team who started off as two-way guys uh can you find your next Pat Conetant can you find these guys in the free agency you know realm where it’s like they didn’t get a big opportunity there or they need to rehab value and in Milwaukee they could do that in the 25 26 season we can see what happens from there going forward leave your thoughts in the comments of these three proposed trades by ESPN which one makes the most sense for the Bucks which would you be most willing to do and of course what would you think about Bradley Beal coming back to or coming to Milwaukee uh that’ll do it for today’s show i do want to remind you those we are now one week away from the NBA draft so be sure to make your second listen of the day the 2025 locked on NBA mock draft it’s a five episode series with the most comprehensive draft analysis from NBA experts college experts and NBA draft experts you can find the 2025 locked on NBA mockdraft on NBA big board and locked on NBA on YouTube or wherever you listen to podcasts uh unless you did something that I was unaware of we didn’t have to do anything with that because the Bucks don’t have a first round pick so um maybe you think the Bucks are going to move into theirs we’ve kicked around the Nets having multiple picks other teams i wouldn’t be surprised if you know a trade we didn’t discuss where the Bucks are sending something out for a first round pick or taking on a contract and a first round pick is something that potentially happens in the next week either but leave your thoughts on these three proposed trades and we’ll see what else develops between now and tomorrow really because as as we’re in that one week away from the draft stretch a lot of things start we’ve already seen two trades here in the offseason Camille so a lot is going to start to bubble up and who knows maybe Kevin Durant gets traded in the next few days here and the ramifications that that has on other teams that’ll do it for today’s show for Camille i’m Justin we’ll talk with you once again tomorrow on Locked on Bucks

  1. Gotta get Giannis help in free agency. Stop trading draft picks and never acquiring any

  2. Cam Johnson is a very smart and competent player and would make a great starting 3. Don't think Kuzma is anywhere as bad as some say but he'd be better as a bkup and improving his skills more.

  3. I would prefer a player like Rui Hachimura alongside Giannis in the front court over Cam Johnson. And I believe he would be cheaper to acquire also. More size, much better shooter much, more consistent shooter, able to play four and three just as easily and even some small ball 5 in emergencies.

  4. We’ve gone from the Wizards requesting 2 first round picks for Kuzma to us now having to send out first round picks attached in a Kuzma trade 6 months later haha
Don’t trade him while his value is at it’s lowest man ffs
Let him put in a good regular season and, if we make it, hopefully not another disgrace of a post-season.
Hopefully the Pacers were just a bad matchup for him.

  5. Im making this trade today for cam Johnson . Saving draft picks for what ? Giannis is in his prime now . These draft picks could end up as bust. Win now. ,( that bulls 3 way trade is dumb). Bradley beal is a cancer . We should want no parts of him.

  6. It sounds that GTJ wants to comeback and play for the BUCKS all they have to do to Re-sign him and give him reasonable longer contact and extand KPJ

  7. Can someone explain to me what the deal is with all this cap stuff?

I mean, imagine the bucks have the opportunity to retain portis (I honestly do NOT see a better option) who claims he wants to be "paid fairly to his peers" (and that means $$$$$$$$) & Porter jr AND Gary Trent jr.
Imagine all 3 want to stay with the bucks. Imagine we need to pay portis 20 mil, 12 mil for kpj and 8 mil for Trent jr.
Just imagine that. Is that possible?
What are repercussions financially if the bucks are able to retain these 3?

I'm a strong believer that "run it back" wins championships. Trying to get new pieces each year and duct tape it all together is a shit show. I want continuity for the team.

Someone explain it to me. Is that possible or no?

  8. Pray for forgiveness from the Basketball Gods…

I Trade Dame for Beal. I just don’t see how a team can be taken seriously with a guy making $50 Million to rehab. I understand Beal was not a great fit in Phoenix but he was playing out of position and had limited opportunities. However, his shooting splits were legit. He shot 50% from the Field and 39% from 3 pt range. He actually shot the ball better than Dame and he’s a better Off-Ball Fit for what the Bucks are trying to do Offensively.

And this doesn’t cost the Bucks any Draft Compensation. So you still have 1st Round Picks to Trade/Swap to improve the Team. So technically, the Bucks could still go Trade for Cam Johnson if they desire.

  9. Why a barely 200 lbs player who's a primarily a perimeter player be the answer who writes these headlines and comes up with these ideas? Learn basketball 1st

  10. The Bucks will be Fine if they can pull this off Cam or Rui will be great.. But my concern is they should get rid of Brook and Kuzma.. and they should re- sign trent and KPJ..

  11. Bucks need to just go all in while they have giannis, i can see holding off on spending this season as we get more expiring contracts etc but all assets should be expendable while they have him if they can throw together a competitive roster, the east is wide open. Holding on to draft assets or regaining them as sellers for the rebuild after giannis doesn't move the needle. The bucks will be irrelevant for 10-20 years when giannis is gone regardless of what we get for him. Would not be shocked to see that whole deer district fold up once hes gone and we are in full rebuild
