TRADE REACTION π Does the Kevin Durant move make the Houston Rockets TITLE contenders βοΈπ | Get Up
the Phoenix Suns agreed on a blockbuster trade sending Kevin Durant to Houston for Jaylen Green Dylan Brooks the number 10 pick in this year’s draft and five second round picks the Rockets are one of Durant’s preferred landing spots he learned of this trade while he was on the stage at Fanatics Fest yesterday this was surreal it all actually happened and then he spoke about it with K adams you know when people could just hang your career in the balance like that and just choose what they want to do with your career is a nerve-wracking feeling but being able to uh kind of uh dictate what you want to do and then being with a team that values you and I’m looking forward to it having people are going to hold on to that dictate what you want to do did you have a hand in this most definitely i mean they asked me where I wanted to go some of my destinations I gave to them and here we are you all the leverage it It was It was a real thing though right like I mean you’re in the middle of your day you’re getting ready for game seven and then all of a sudden like I start getting notes like KD got there’s no way in the world that happened on the day of game seven and then you start to realize oh my god it happened while he’s on the stage at right this is the moment like literally the news breaks while he’s sitting up there and all these people are documenting it and whatever so Wendy that the circumstances are what they are the bottom line of it is Kevin Durant is a Houston rocket yeah I think what he said there in that interview was very important i think the Warriors could have traded for him last February he said “I don’t want to go.” And the Warriors backed off i think last week the the Timberwolves could have traded for him he said “I didn’t want to go the Timberwolves backed off.” And I think the Suns would have gotten better returns in both of those trades but he had agency he used that leverage he ends up going to Houston you say “Why does Houston do this deal?” You want to rank the Houston young players and their draft capital you’re ranking six seven names and lists before you get to Jaylen Green and Dylan Brooks and the number 10 pick and I understand the number 10 pick it’s a lottery pick it’s it’s quality but the the Rockets didn’t feel that they were going to get a player in this draft that materally going to help them and and they end up landing an offensive juggernaut which is exactly what they needed right exactly what they needed go ahead Keith no I just I just uh you know a little bit little bit more respect on Jaylen name i don’t think he was a six seventh prospect but no seriously no but ser lift to keep gave up i mean I’m But I I don’t think that’s just going by what I’ve seen yeah but they wanted they’ve been trying to trade him they were trying to move him well there’s your answer they they moved they they moved a guy that they wanted to trade for Kevin Durant let’s not argue over this just Just because they moved him don’t mean that he was a six or seven best the lowest well you got to get some talent from six or seven value i think what they gave up for him stunned me or or or more to the point what Phoenix got for him at this stage of his career i did an essay on this last week people if you’re talking about Kevin Durant as a diminished player you’re just not paying attention it’s not true kevin Durant in his right right now there was one player in history to have three consecutive seasons scoring 25 points a game on 5040 shooting it’s Kevin Durant and that streak is active he’s done it the last three years and I gave you numbers that demonstrate that his defense has been well above average he’s got blocks and steals and when his when he played his team was over 500 this year when he didn’t they were 317 kevin Durant like Steph and like LeBron has not really diminished that much i think that the Rockets got him for comparatively speaking a song and it is an unbelievably good trade for them i I think it it puts him right there with OKC to win the Western Conference to get to the NBA Finals i mean look you’re talking about a guy that hasn’t averaged under 25 points since his rookie year you’re talking about a guy who hasn’t shot under 50% since 2011 like think about that i mean th those numbers are staggering right and the fact that now you combine him with Shayon with the level of what they play i also think Emma Yudoka is probably the biggest winner walking away from this with the culture he’s been able to create in Houston and the physical well the essentially the timing of that right with other jobs up in the air New York potentially other teams calling but also guys the physicality that Houston plays with if there’s one thing we learned in these playoffs you need physical pieces they lost one well they lost one in Dylan Brooks i think that’s a that’s a major loss that’s an underrated loss but they still have all the pieces there said it he said it there they asked me where I wanted to go so he had control they asked me where I wanted to go they gave him that control of the game and that respect which he earned he deserved and all the numbers you say Greeny tell you this is still one of the great players in the game but does it feel like a blockbuster does it feel like a block yes it does how can it feel like a blockbuster when the numbers that we just spoke about when the number two seed stayed the number two seed yeah but we all we all thought that Houston was punching above their weight like everybody most of the people I talked to in NBA circles when we went to the playoffs everybody was like “Oh yeah we want to target Houston because we feel like they’re young they’re inexperienced okay they feel that way anymore.” No they do not but they feel very different where they didn’t play Jaylen Green down the stretch of the game down the stretch of a playoff game next year the ball’s going to be in Durant and the real thing about this from Phoenix’s standpoint when they traded for Durant it was a closed market durant went to the Nets and said “I only want to be a Phoenix Sun.” And yet they paid four picks three swaps really good young players again we have a closed market durant saying “I only want to go to Miami Houston and San Antonio but they didn’t get a premium back.” So they paid a premium in a closed market and sold in a closed market that’s what I meant by it doesn’t feel like a block and part of the story Keith is going to be about the teams that didn’t get him and I saw a lot of reaction yesterday on social particularly about the Miami Heat which was one of the three teams that KD had on his list and they seemed not willing to part with some players what did you think of that Keith uh it’s disappointing to me i remember Wendy said earlier you know obviously he has to agree to go to Miami and they were one of the teams right they tried to get him at the deadline but for underwhelming package right and no disrespect to the players that was involved that that uh that that uh Phoenix wanted but the package wasn’t you like you know like like Miami has to give that up not only like they lost Jimmy Butler but a chance to get a guy like Kevin Durant with the way the East is going to look in the next couple years pairing him with a with a bam bio and a Tala Herrell and not really losing a lot of core pieces right you lose Jame Haz you lose Hayward Smith and and Jo and Jokic but what Miami does is they grow their players so it don’t really matter what they would have lost right because they’re they’re a team that will get GLeague players and grow them they’re a team that that that that will get like that has um homegrown players so I’m really disappointed in Miami for not making this happen especially like I said with the loss of Jimmy Butler like for that package but for that package they have to get this done keith think about this though the two teams that have supposedly Miami not going all in on all their assets for Kevin Durant and the New York Knicks who said “Hey we’re not interested.” There’s still this guy in Milwaukee that just because he said in Brazil that “Hey I hope I can win a championship with the Bucks everybody thinks he’s going to be with the Bucks.” And think about Miami holding on to those assets to be all in on a Giannis spree same with New York and San Antonio is it all in i mean if you weren’t all in on Kevin Durant you better be all in on Giannis so so let’s make sure we’re all I’m saying for Miami right i’m saying for Miami too miami is those pieces all in is that a all-in thing or you’re not losing Bamabio or Talahara i would just say that the the the Heat had an opportunity to put a better package on the table at the trade deadline and this last week and elected not to so let’s look at their actions over I mean that’s the Miami Heat way their actions that’s what they think but I’m saying as a player and watching it like I’m I’m not going to not give a chance not to take Kevin Durant for that package that’s my whole thing that package of players with the 20th pick for a Hall of Famer and a guy to average 25 points a game with a up in the air east i’m doing that every day of the week and what do those actions tell us twice on Sundays yep but what do those actions tell us they like to do stuff a certain way that they those actions tell us they’re waiting for something they’re waiting for something else they’re waiting for something else and so Wait a minute exactly right thank you you beat me to it the the the put those Jiannis fingers in the air okay so we’ll have to wait and see if that winds up happening look and maybe this is tomorrow’s topic the East feels as wide open for the worst of all possible reasons i mean Jason Tatum is not going to play and Damen Lillard is not going to play and Tyrese Hallebertton is not going to play that’s three st superstars that go down with devastating injuries in these playoffs what does that mean for the Miami for the Knicks for the other teams in the Eastern Conference we’ll talk about it a lot of this will get reshaped between now and Wednesday and the NBA draft where the Mavericks are expected to take Cooper flag number one overall as our NBA draft first round coverage starts Wednesday you’ll see it on ABC and ESPN [Music]

That's the point KD miss 17 alone last season. And all the other times miss. His great player but his age is a issue. Does it help the Rockets yes. Not pass the second round. Go magic!!!
If cam whitemore make a huge leap then Houston won the trade but dam Jalen green only 23 3 years kd could possibly be retired Jalen green would jus now be hitting his prime at 26
Another franchise KD will destroy π€£
So when is the media and social media gonna admit KD has had more talent around him in their prime than Lebron? Or are we just gonna keep the lie going because it garners more views and attention? 5th Superteam and it's ignored LMAO!
Stupid trade.
"he's not a 6th option" dude averaged nothing and got traded lmao
I don't think a Durant trade should be a headline in any TV shows. I am happy for the Rocket because they kept most of their assets and if it doesn't work out , you can still draft or package him with some picks for Giannis or another star in the leagueDurant move is about money now, Free tax, his biggest and irredeemable mistake is foolishly sacrificing his Achilles and then following a earth flatter guy name Kyrie that alone deserve a psychology course in Universities
KD will definitely get Houston past the first round next year…unless they play the Warriors, Or Minnesota. Or the Clippers. Or…
Toughest second round exit in NBA history loading
A elite free agent will lock them n a western conference finals.
Sorry Greeny but THIS is not a Blockbuster trade; this would imply suns got a superstar back neither Jalen or dillion brooks are superstars and those 5 second round picks doesn't makes this a blockbuster. Fake news.
The houston Rockets got worse from this trade
2:54 This trade "stunned" Mike Greenberg? This trade right here? All Star Kevin Durant for a couple of nice players (Dillion Brooks and Greene) and this year's 10th pick, this "stunned" Mike? Come on y'all, the Magic traded two former starting players and 4 first round draft picks for Desmond Bane (Dillion Brooks former back up in Memphis).
NBA broadcasters be wild out here…
Brian windhorst never been in a gym let alone played basketball on a court for ANYONE. I dont want to hear him talk basketball
ESPN, please do better at your round table guest. Good grief this was bad.
Stop trading your team away for players that are not going to win for you
they overpaid for 40 year old kd
Rockets won this trade no doubt
KD couldnβt even secure that 10th seed with Booker and Beal. Terribly overrated at this point in his career
Kevin Durant…the most disappointing superstar in the history of the league
Yea they not bringing markieff back lmao
Houston's front office made a huge mistake. KD has what, 3 good years left, maybe?
ROCKETS ON TOP
no KD will not make the rockets title contender…. Look at how the pacers and thunders are built, you see any of their top 3 stars over age of 33?
1:51 siiiix seeeveeeeen
Donβt beat me up but get the twins outta here bro π ps I got Serbian family so donβt even try it π
didnβt realize windy was chill like that 1:51
Man, kd, i hope you ball out for us in houston n stay healthy π
Spurs should of did everything they could lol Texas you know this isnβt going to change warriors lol Steph like we still can beat the rockets in playoffs
Brooks is going to annoy tf out rockets just because he didnβt want to leave I see ejection or atleast a hostile act causing tension to set a feud lol
If we being honest experience do matter but that ended last night in reason say it did cause pascal is a champ already in pacers OKC was youngest of there roster in won title so thatβs bout the window of experience matters now
It's up to the Dunkstronaut to prove this deal actually favors the Suns.
I can even say Myles turner is a vet now him & pascal had I think turner needs to except he didnβt do well in finals he was basically on floor not producing
He boutta retire in Texas
no
Houston still owns the suns 27,29 first rounders so if the Durant experiment doesnβt work, theyβll still be able to either draft a lottery pick in those upcoming years or trade those picks for another star , so Houston is set either way.
Itβs so weird seeing somebody of KDβs caliber being traded around like a box of cookiesπ. Like realistically, heβs supposed to be part of the big three and heβs the one thatβs always being traded.
NO
we'll see
I click the video and immediately close it once I see a Morris twin. They must have some dirt on one of the executives or something.
Jalen green hasnβt been the same since banging a older women and having a baby from her
That Morris twin just wants to argue lol
