Did the Nuggets finally solve their general manager problems? | Denver Sports Daily

did the Nuggets finally solve their general manager problems this is your Denver Sports Daily for June 23rd the biggest stories the latest news it’s Denver Sports Daily the Nuggets fired Calvin Booth back in April if you remember a huge huge move only three games before the playoffs began Calvin Booth and Michael Malone were both gone and after a long long period it’s now been two months the Nuggets finally hired their GMs kind of strange GMs they promoted Ben Tenzer and hired John Wallace who is from Minnesota now Tenzer will take on the road uh role of executive vice presidents of basketball operations and Wallace as the executive vice president of player personnel now both are going to kind of come together and act as a some sort of uh dual general manager both reporting to Josh Kroni while managing each part of it uh so differently it’s strange uh this is very similar to something you know we saw with the Nuggets back in 2006 through 2010 they had two different kind of uh executives pairing together to make one big uh GM almost one super GM if you will now this may come off a bit strange being that there was so much division with the GM and the coach and all that there there was already so much so many problems uh with communication and these two guys didn’t agree with each other when you talking about Cavin Booth and Mike Malone and now you’re saying okay we obviously saw that there was too many people there was too many hands in the kitchen so what are we going to do we’re going to add even more we’re going to bring in two people to do one job now sure they they are going to do different jobs they are going to be separated there but they’re going to work together in a lot of big big uh picture things that are going on for the Nuggets now there another problem around this is that they may have waited too long the draft is only two days away and they have a huge offseason overall to overcome now the Nuggets don’t have a pick in the draft but there’s been comments made from Josh Kroni about hey we might trade into it we might you know try to buy our way into the draft maybe get a second round pick in there maybe see if we can do anything to you know kickstart and jump on this off seasonason and get it started right away but there’s just you know you wait this long and I was thinking hey you’re waiting this long for what for uh uh you know somebody from OKC somebody from Indiana no you’re waiting this long just to get somebody from the uh Timberwolves you you waited too long and now you got two days until a huge draft and is anything actually going to come out of it probably not probably not but it is huge news that they finally got their GMs they finally got two guys one has been a part of this team the other was a part of this team only three years ago but getting them to finally get to you know be on this team we We know who our GMs are moving forward it’s a huge start to the offseason now moving on did the Nuggets miss a chance to acquire one of the NBA’s top scorers Kevin Durant he was traded to the Houston Rockets yesterday in a blockbuster trade for Jaylen Green Dylan Brooks the 10th overall pick this year and five future second round picks wow incredible huge huge trade i mean the Rockets are giving away one of the best scorers in the league for the one of the best scorers of all time jaylen Green is a great great shooting guard and they’re giving them to the Suns who now have three shooting guards on that roster in Devin Booker Jaylen Green and Bradley Beal what’s the mindset going on there in Phoenix there’s something in the water in Phoenix you just need as many shooting guards as you can get apparently but getting Dylan Brooks as well to come in at that four spot huge obviously every time that Kevin Durant has traded or moves teams it breaks the news it break everything i mean everything comes out it’s like this is the biggest deal of all time but this time it might be a little bit bigger for the Nuggets because apparently they were wildcard suitors for Kevin Durant shams Strania who’s a great mind in the NBA you know insider knows everything that’s going on went on to say quote “The Suns engaged in serious talks to move Durant this week primarily focused on the Heat Rockets and Minnesota.” Sources said several other wild card suitors emerged as well including the Toronto Raptors Cleveland Cavaliers LA Clippers and Denver Nuggets sources said the Denver Nuggets if Kevin Durant came here wow i mean there was a possibility of it but it wasn’t ever serious but knowing that there were serious talks actually happening in that front office they were talking about “Hey can we get Kevin Durant in Denver hey can we get Kevin Durant out of the Suns move him in you know get rid of MPJ get a true 610 guy who can shoot the rock from wherever.” Now Durant is set to make 54.7 million this upcoming year and that’s why they probably couldn’t get it you have to have matching salaries for a trade and that would be a very hard move for Denver the only possible idea is something involving you know MPJ Payton Watson Zeke Naji Christian Brown something around those lines you know fixing around those players getting them in there but it would have included at least three of those guys and picks on top of that and the Nuggets don’t have picks they just don’t so it’s hard to believe that the Suns would go for that when they could get so much out of the Houston Rockets they they fleeced them honestly the Suns won that trade by a lot because Kevin Rant really hasn’t done anything since he was on the Warriors sure he went to a a great few playoffs with the Nets but nothing as serious as he was with the Warriors and I don’t know if he’d bring that same kind of energy to the Denver Nuggets so we’ll see how it goes in Houston but that’s just a blockbuster trade that took that happened yesterday wild now moving on dario Sarge has put the Nuggets in a very bad position dario Sarge was less than a non-factor for the Nuggets last year i mean can you remember which games he actually played in i can’t because there were only 16 of them that he played in he was healthy the entirety of the season but he only played in 16 games he’s just a non-factor you don’t need him on the team but now he’s picking up his $5.4 million player option that will keep him on the team for another year making the Nuggets spend more money they don’t need him and now they have to spend more money to keep a guy who’s not going to play sarge averaged only 3.5 points per game 3.1 rebounds per game and 1.4 assists per game last season there’s really not much need for him to stay not only is he not producing they have other players like Vlad Chonchar and DeAndre Jordan who are both free agents and could return if the Nuggets choose to resign them and don’t even get me started on Darren Holmes who’s set to return next season who didn’t have a good rookie season or even a rookie season at all because he got injured in summer league last year you got those three guys but Dario Sarge is now eating up some of the money because he knows he’s not going to get that much money anywhere else he goes i mean I can’t blame him he’s putting up those kind of bad numbers and saying “Okay here’s a guaranteed 5.4 million and here’s I I can go test the waters in free agency and see if somebody’s going to give me that amount of money.” Nobody’s going to give him that amount of money that’s just basic knowledge right there he’s going to stay here and get his guaranteed 5 mil over testing the waters in free agency when nobody actually wants the guy and I can’t blame him too much it just sucks that it had to happen to the Nuggets cuz because this is not what you need to see right now with this team you just don’t want that you don’t want that at all now moving on the Broncos were given one of the worst ratings in Madden’s newest game the Madden 26 closed beta is going on right now and the ratings for each team were released the Broncos came in fifth to last in the entire league take a look at this graphic right here because this is just wild i don’t know what is going on on the Madden you know team what what’s going on with this because the first thing that jumps out to me is of course the Broncos coming in so far down below 28th in the league 79 overall but look who they’re above real quick they are above the Washington Commanders who made the NFC Championship last season and I I get it hey Jaden Daniels Bicks you could compare them you could say that the Broncos are a better team i don’t care who you think is the better team overall i care about the fact that an NFC champion or an NFC Championship contending team with the rookie rookie of the year is third to last in the entire league it just doesn’t make any sense the Broncos are below the Tennessee Titans they’re below the New England Patriots they’re below the Raiders they are below the Jaguars what What is going on with this list the New Orleans Saints it’s just wild another crazy thing that jumps out to me on this list that doesn’t even make any sense at all why are the Cleveland Browns in the eighth spot i mean they don’t even know who their QB is and they are in the eighth spot they’re eighth overall 87 overall what the heck is going on in the Madden headquarters it just doesn’t make any sense to me i don’t know why that’s happening like what’s the mindset between those ratings but if you can make sense of them please let me know cuz I have no idea how to even explain how terrible that list is but that’ll do it for your Denver Sports Daily i’ll be back with you guys again tomorrow tomorrow is the night before the NBA draft are the Nuggets going to do anything are they going to get into the draft are they going to trade are they going to buy a pick who knows i guess we’ll see it’ll come up quick but that’ll do it for your Denver Sports Daily we’ll see you all tomorrow until then y’all have a great rest of your day bye y’all

The Nuggets finally found their (dual) GM’s, the Nuggets were ‘wild card suitors’ for Kevin Durant, and the Broncos are being overlooked heavily in the new Madden game! This is your Denver Sports Daily for June 23rd!
