BREAKING: Utah Jazz Draft STRATEGY | Will Riley vs. Rasheer Fleming: Who’s the PICK?
is Will Riley the top guy at 21 the film review says so But do the Jazz want a plugandplay guy with their recent picks being so young find out next on Locked on Jazz You are Locked on Jazz your daily podcast on the Utah Jazz part of the Locked On podcast network Your team every day Hello and welcome in to Locked on Jazz I’m Leaf Tulene Excited to be back with you for the last day of my my two week stay filling in for David Lock on Locked on Jazz As most of you guys know by now I’m a Jazz lifelong fan who’s credentialed NBA draft analyst for locked on NBA big board attendee of the two of the last three NBA combines jazz broadcast assistant statistician and lover of college hoops So I’ll make sure you guys know what you need to know heading into the draft about your beloved Jazz and who they could be selecting So thank you guys for making Locked on Jazz your first listen each and every day Remember Locked on Jazz is free and available on each on all platforms including YouTube at locked on jazz where the best way to help us grow is to comment anything below And today’s question is what do you think about pick 21 do you want to take some with upside or with safety and who might that be today on the show I’ll break down the guys I believe are options at 21 including on why I watched some film on Will Riley and why it makes me think we’d be lucky to get him at 21 And I’ll also go through the appeal of the athletes like Rashier Fleming whom Tony Jones mentioned as one of his favorites at 21 and Nadu Fiero Drake Powell and lastly I’ll give a few ideas for the second round picks which I haven’t spoken about yet but the Jazz as stands have two second round picks So let’s dive right in Will Riley is someone that I’ve long been fascinated by and for context is a guy who is very slender and he’s got a similar build to Cody Williams I imagine many Jazz fans are going to be uh anti-will Riley but I’ll tell you they’re not the same player But you watch Will Riley and you say “Okay that’s the guy for Illinois who played various roles and he’s measured in at taller than Ace Bailey did as a two guard 18 years old and came in in his first game in college basketball and scored 31 points.” Confidence If if I gave myself that rundown of who that was without saying who it was I’d say he’s a lottery pick And then I watched the film last night I watched just him his field goal attempts from all of his games uh in the f final two months of the season And as confidence grew even though the scouting reports were more understanding of what he does well they’re forcing him to different things He’s still slender He’s playing against good teams in conference play I watched him and he has the unteachables What I mean by that is he he just does things you can’t teach for someone of that size He moves too smoothly with the ball in his hands He’s too fluid as a dribbler and he shoots it with confidence and he looks at the rim and is able to play the pick and roll He is able to knock down open shots He’s able to uh create near the rim and slash And for people who are used to being the the dude on their team he was able to adapt and play off the ball and be a cutter at a very good level So Will Riley I already thought was a good possibility Um at 21 I would have been happy with but I watched his film last night with with fresh set of eyes not just watching a random college game I watched his field goal attempts and just watched him score the basketball And you just don’t see guys with that makeup make it to 21 And honestly I think it’s likely he goes in in a spot that’s higher than where the mockdrafts have him I look at a couple mock drafts I try not to inform my own uh point of view by looking at other people mocks but I watched Will Riley and thought to myself that’s a lottery guy And I hadn’t thought of that prior but in in watching him do what he does well I I started to think to myself yeah that’s a lottery guy We’d be lucky to get him at 21 So that’s my favorite player at 21 So let’s like let’s look at what makes him such a unique player and how lucky we’d be to have him at 21 And then I’ll give you why I think there’s concern So like I said he’s got those int unteachable traits and kind of bravado and confidence but it’s backed up by he’s a 90th percentile isolation player as an 18-year-old That’s very very rare This guy could be in high school He’s from Canada goes to Illinois plays in a rugged league in the Big 10 which is very veteranladen and he was very good at isolation which is a little bit surprising because you would expect his lack of burst to uh to show up his lack of physical strength to show up but he was an excellent isolation player That bodess well He’s 66 percentile at the rim meaning he gets there at a decent rate and he finishes fairly well And then this is the most enticing number to me He’s run 115 pick and rolls meaning that he has experience and good experience running at a high level pick and rolls in collegiate basketball as a 6-9 ball handler That’s really really rare Also he shot 115 spot up threes so he’s very accustomed to playing off the ball as well You just don’t see that mix of numbers and the proficiency with which he achieved those numbers fall to 21 And I still I would tell you right now I think he’s likely to go higher because I think teams are going to realize how rare that is Like I said he’s 6’9 and he run plays with two guard He’s 18 years old and he’s ran 115 pick and rolls and he was able to shoot 115 catch and shoots and he’s proficient at all of the above like he passed out nicely on David Lock’s measurements on athleticism and shooting All those things that he does as preliminaries I I think are backed up by watching him play He’s a little bit inconsistent He’s streaky But the other thing is this is a team that had a lottery pick on its roster in C versus Yakon He’s going to go in the lottery in my opinion and he ran a million pick and rolls So the fact that he ran some pick and rolls is not catering to the best player on the team This is a guy that they had confidence to take the ball out of a pick and roll Savon’s hands And he was 90 percentile in isolation And while he’s not super twitchy that means it’s not just all burst There’s some guile There’s some uh movement And what he does nicely is he he’s probably studied Kevin Durant You watch him play and he does this little wide dribble out to his right and he hangs on and he goes between and crosses has got that long rangy smooth body that allows him to cover a lot of ground in a in a short wasted there’s very little wasted energy and then he’s got counters there’s there’s plays that are unnecessary he spins a lot in the NBA I believe I can’t remember if it was Will Hardy or Quinn Snyder but one of the coaches in which I was going to press conferences said you know what if you got if the game tells you to spin it really tells you you should pass he’s going to learn that but I also think he’s an underrated passer and confidence is really important that’s something that I think Cody Williams lacked this year and why so many Jazz fans are turned off on this archetype of player that’s slender and long is because Cody Williams lacked confidence by the end of the season Will Riley stepped into his first game as an 18-year-old and scored 31 points off the bench fresh off the pine and scored 31 points I mean for context and I said this to on a previous locked on Jazz or the every day heard this for context that’s like a freshman stepping into a varsity game and saying “You know what give me the rock I’m going to score 30.” Like that It’s very very difficult to do And if you can do it then you’re going to be someone I believe in I didn’t think he shoot he shot it overly well but the volume actually encourages me more And the unabashed confidence demonstrated from day one scoring the 31 points uh inspires faith for me I I believe in volume as the biggest indicator of shooting proficiency as opposed to a low volume high percentage And his percentages in the NCAA weren’t great but he was a 40% three-point shooter in high school And most of those were off the bounce self-created And I believe that he’ll knock down open shots in the NBA level and be able to create off the bounce And in conclusion skilled 6’8 wings with the ability to confidently pull up from 28 feet away from the rim throw a live dribble hook pass with one hand that’s becoming like the standard today of if you can dribble the ball and be a facilitator and navigate get to the rim uh get to the free throw line at a high rate It they just aren’t common And this is a guy that if he’s at 21 there’s too many traits for me to pass up on And I believe in swings But I want to tell you guys if the Jazz were to take Trey Johnson and Will Riley I’d be delighted because I think they took the two best players available But if the Jazz were to take Tre Johnson I really want the Jazz to consider taking an athlete because I’ve been begging for the Jazz to go find the athletic specimen that can change them And I think I’m tainted by watching Jaden McDaniels not get selected and watch him defend And I just want someone who can be a athletic secondary rim protector who can also push the pace and give us some semblance of a transition attack Uh take away other teams best players So part of me would like to complement skill sets but I think you got to take the best player available And I don’t see many worlds in which a player like Will Riley typically falls to 21 and that skill set isn’t coveted as a lottery pick So if he’s there at 21 I’m not saying sprint to the podium but I’d say pretty confidently that I’d be happy And for those of you who want a comparison because comparisons are not only the thief of joy but also give us just a framework that that tells you what he can do Uh his size allows him uh interesting vantage points as a as a wing with a guard skill set I think he can see the floor and I wonder if he can have the ball So I think he’s a far better more athletic version of Jet Howard who is similar in the sense that he’s big uh bigger guard who’s known to shoot the ball He went 11th a couple years ago And I also think that there’s concerns defensively for uh Will Riley but not to the same extent as Jet Howard I think he’s a slender wing who will have to be in love with the weight room as Tony Jones put it but the skills are just hard to pass up on The Jazz do need defense eventually but I think he’s a guy who can do multiple things knock down open shots play with the ball in his hands and he you get a 692 guard who can shoot the ball and run pick and rolls proficiently That’s my go-to pick at 21 I say this with the belief that if the Jazz get Trey Johnson my still core longing is to have complimentary skill sets and take an athlete But I will never complain about taking a guy that you deem to be the best player available And I think Will Riley’s skill set is the best available at 21 So coming up next we’re going to talk about more options at 21 including the athletes We’re gonna talk about some of the guys that Tony Jones mentioned and some athletes that I think would complement a guy like Trey Johnson or a guy like Ace Bailey where you want to have players that are athletic and defensively oriented to also complement these skillful lengthy wings that are offensively shifted So we’ll talk about that and a lot more straight ahead on Locked on Jazz Shopping a car Shopping for a inventories and tremendous staff to take care of you guys So make sure to go in and tell them you listen to Locked on Jazz and they’ll take great care of you Welcome back to Locked on Jazz Leaf Tan with you here We’re talking about pick 21 I mentioned why Will Riley is my top target but I mentioned that I really wanted an athlete and someone that’s defensively inclined to help the Jazz in an area that they struggle And a couple names have stood out to me So let’s talk about one that Tony Jones mentioned on yesterday’s show If you guys haven’t listened Tony joined and we talked about the latest rumors for the Jazz the fifth pick what’s happening there some guys at 21 and how likely trades are to happen So Tony mentioned Rasheir Fleming Rashir Fleming is 6’9 He’s got a 7 foot five wingspan and shot 39% from three Yes that’s mightily impressive So then you may ask if you’re an inquisitive person why could he be there at 21 well it’s because he’s a little older He played three years at St Joe’s which is a mid- major and it took him three years to really stand out and he’s improved a lot in his skill and he’s improved a ton as a shooter improving 10% But he dominated athletically versus inferior competition which boosted his stock and I would tell you the context would say that his he wasn’t the top option on offense and so some of those numbers I think make you think he’s a more refined offensive player than I perceive him to be I think he’s defensively ready for the NBA and that’s what I do like but offensively I think those numbers are a little bit fraudulent in terms of the shooting Uh I think this archetype is rare to really fail So I don’t necessarily dislike the pick but I will say I think there’s some love for a his physical makeup that people didn’t necessarily know about when watching him play Uh some guys with similar physical archetypes are Patrick Williams Tari E Kawhi Leonard OG and Obi defensively oriented large hands large arms those type of guys And he’s not it’s not like he didn’t put up numbers He scored 15 points a game about eight and a half rebounds a little over one and a half blocks 1.4 steals and he shot four and a half three so he had volume And he’s 69 240 Uh I think that’s a four in the NBA I don’t think he can play the five I noticed some discourse on that on Jazz Twitter And with the improved improved shooting touch uh I think there’s a world he carves out a role in a substantial role but he’s really got to prove he’s that good of a shooter in the NBA and not just the 29% shooter he was as a freshman and the 32% shooter he was as a sophomore So I wonder if he’s a little more of a high floor uh and and a high ceiling guy than a high floor I should say because I I think the floor is essentially his defense And if his defense is really good and he shoots then he’s got a really high ceiling compared to where he is getting drafted But I am curious about those shooting Uh I don’t think I would trade up for him I’ve I’ve seen Jazz fans talk about trading up for him because yes he has unique traits but I think there’s going to be guys that fall namely like a Leam McNeely If Nate Clifford goes higher and Cedric Coward goes higher Liam McNeely Nolan Chory guys like that come down and Drake Powell’s of the world Will Riley’s of the world could be there Jace Richardson’s of the world could be there So I wouldn’t trade up I think he’s fascinating I get Tony’s point And my comparison as Tony and I both said is actually a current Jasmine It’s Taylor Hendrickx Except Taylor Hendricks was a freshman He was 19 He used physical traits to overwhelm inferior competition in the AAC He did this in the A10 as a junior So that’s why Taylor Hendricks is a lottery pick versus a mid mid round pick And so I’ll be curious to see what happens with Rashier Fleming I I could see a team falling in love with those unique measurements Uh the skill set is interesting I I think some teams will like it and some will be a little bit skeptical because of the mid- major level he was playing at All right next guy that I want to talk about is someone who thrived in the mid- major level and it’s someone Tony Jones discussed as a plug-and-play guy which is part of the reason I brought this up is plugandplay is really desirable I know I talked about a high upside guy like Will Riley as my first preference but Nate Clifford is a guy if he calls 21 I will have zero qualms with taking him He’s 6’6 He’s a tremendously versatile wing who’s played as both a star for Colorado State and as a role player for Colorado He’s an amazing rebounder He he averaged 19 points and 9.6 rebounds Shot 38% from three He ran a ton of pick and roll He posted up He’s been a high usage offensive player at Colorado State Then he was a role player defensively oriented and rebounding guard at Colorado And his usage with more responsibility he became a better player He’s very good on defense with high steel and block percentages And it’s all because he’s clever It’s not like he’s overwhelming you athletically Maybe he’s stronger than many because he’s older Um but he rebounds his position extremely well drawing him comparisons to Josh Hart which I think it’s crazy because Josh Hart is an unbelievable rebounder in the NBA I think it’s very unlikely he reaches quite that level of rebounding but I get the point and I don’t think it’s crazy It’s just it’s hard to say someone’s going to rebound like Josh Hart because he is a maniac And then Clifford the other thing is I think you can play him as someone with the ball in his hands without the ball in his hands and he understands what to do And I really like that And that’s the appeal that the Jazz would not have to coach him into saying you know what this is how you play for us They would be able to say “Play your game and then we’ll work on little things and you’ll be instantly impactful.” And the Jazz have had good luck getting good players later in the draft Keonte George at 16 uh Bryce Sensible at 28 and then they go 29 and 32 with Collier and Philippowski But those guys still had a large learning curve in terms of how they they adapt and it got so much better as the season went on They’re younger Clifford would be a pick from a different vein of thought It would be you know what we’re going to take someone that we don’t need to be a star We don’t have the aspiration for him to be an all-star as a key component top level scorer on this team or his role is going to be similar from day one until the last days on the team He just hopefully improves And so if he’s not Josh Hard a guy I’ve likened him to would be a Pat Coneton who is a more than serviceable player Someone defensively was solid and then rebounds the ball knocks down open shots I think I think there are plenty of players in the NBA that would be thrilled to have a career similar to Pat Coneton or Josh Hart or somewhere in between And I think that’s what Nick Nick Clifford can do So the last guy I want to discuss is uh Drake Powell because I really like Drake Powell He to me is the best athlete in this class and I really think that 21 the way the draw draft falls leaves a lot of wings and the wings at 21 are interesting to me And I know there’s guys like Danny Wolf I know there’s Bearing Jay There’s Maxine Reno whom I adore I just don’t necessarily see the Jazz taking this pick unless someone falls that they really really love and their big board is higher by a wide margin over the consensus and not take a wing with how this board seems to fall because you have guys like Nick Clifford you have Rashier Fleming you have Will Riley Liam McNeely guys like that I feel like this is a wingheavy part of the draft and I feel confidently the Jazz take one Drake Powell the appeal is he’s defensively excellent He moves differently than other people because he just floats and levitates He had the highest vertical in the draft He’s got long arms an excellent motor Wasn’t McDonald’s all-American Has guarded good players to very impressive results And he has a shot that I don’t think is great but I think it’s better than many people say it is And it looks confident off his hand He was in a team that had multiple guards that were veterans It makes it hard for him to figure out the role And I think he got caught in the whirlwind a little bit So Drake Powell is a guy that I think stock will rise and is a very real possibility for the Jazz at 21 So let me know what you guys think about those picks Who’s your favorite is it someone I mentioned is it someone else uh tell me about the the players that I’m omitting But coming up next we’re going to take a look at who’s there that intrigues me in the second round and talk about two picks that the Jazz have that we haven’t talked about the last couple weeks So I figured I’d finish this week off giving you some names that I think would be interesting picks for the Jazz to select in the second round All that and more straight ahead on Locked on Jazz There’s nothing like stepping into your own outdoor space and feeling like you’ve escaped into a personal oasis If about pick five a lot this week We talked about 21 a couple times and once again let me know what you guys think of those options But the second round is something we haven’t talked about much because who knows if the Jazz make those picks Do they use do they consolidate those two picks and make it one but here are some options that I think have a chance of being there at 43 and if the Jazz move up they’d still be there too that I think would be home runs to select in the second round So the first one is a guy that I wouldn’t even be that mad about taking in the f the 21st pick I don’t think he quite goes there It’s Ad Theoro Ad Theoro is a guy who played at Kentucky under John Caliperry for a couple years Was little used tremendous athlete hard worker rebounder defensively oriented player Then he goes to Arkansas and they had a log jam of talent Boogie Fland Wagner Brazil all these guys And yet Theo was the hard worker who became the best player They had a projected all-American in John El Davis too who played a similar position Yet the guy who stood out to me was Adu Theo because of his tenacity on the glass defensive versatility and just stick it down your throat run to the rim attack the rack vicious athleticism plenty of dunks got to the free throw line 20 plus times in a few games And I think defensively in the NBA he’s going to be great He’s going to be versatile Offensively concerned being his shot But I’ve seen him likened to even the Thompson twins Though I think that’s a little overzealous I see the idea He He’s able to touch the paint so frequently and is unselfish That that’s the idea And at 21 I wouldn’t mind it At 43 I’d be elated to get a duo I’d even consider moving up to get him and coupling those two picks So that’s my first option Adu Theo Now one that’s a very very successful collegiate player I think has been over or sorry underrated and not spoken above about enough as a NBA draft pick for the last three seasons but also as a college basketball player That’s Cam Jones from Marquette Marquette had Tyler Kak and Oso Eigodaro who are excellent passers running the show for the past two seasons before this one And yet their leading scoreer no one talks about it was Cam Jones a smooth shooting lefty who once he touches the paint has this beautiful scoop shot or or floater and is also a dead eyee shooter when he’s left open This year he was the point guard He did not have much help I think should have been an all-American I think was the best guard in all of college basketball and was snubbed But his team did not provide much help And yet Marquette for many of the weeks in the season were a top 10 team due almost single-handedly to Cam Jones’s scoring expertise And I just think that a player that is that smooth that able to score and do it with athleticism or with guile and play multiple roles throughout his career I think that’s a guy who’s bound to succeed So that’s that’s another guy that stands out to me Another one that I have watched less of but I know a ton about and many people really love is Hansen Yang James Barlo and locked on NBA big board has been a Hansen Yang believer forever He played in the combine and many people you know maybe it’s the lazy thing or the common thing to do Now they say any big who can pass isn’t particularly athletic as compared to Nola Joic I’m not saying this guy can be Nicole Joic but I will say if a player in the second round becomes an all-star as a post I believe it would be Hansen Yang because he is big he’s skillful he passes well he’s nimble even if he’s not super quick and super athletic I I just think that he’s got a rare blend of skills that typically are not talked about as second round skills they’re typically talked about as lottery skills And so if he’s there at 43 like many mocks have him I’d say that’s something to certainly consider One more guy that is of the athletic mold and this is a guy that I’ve been high on for a long time for a pretty strange reason Uh his name is Micah Peavey He played at Georgetown this past year and Micah Peavey is a tremendous athlete He played at TCU in the years prior to that And Micah Peavey was a lockdown defender He was known as one of the better defenders and he constantly had scouts looking at him even though he was a poor shooter for those years at TCU But what stood out to me is I watched TCU just out of coincidence two straight years at March Madness So I saw him four times in a short period of time And every time I watch him I said “Man that guy plays so hard and everything he’s doing is unselfish He does uh he rotates on defense He gets in passing lanes He shoots only the open shots He tries to get offensive rebound He does all those things right.” And yeah you you want players like that in college basketball want those players in the NBA but they need to have skills that differentiate them So the reason I fell in love with Mike Peavey is I was sitting in the third round of Denver Colorado I was a ball arena watching TCU and Gonzaga and I I had taken TCU in my bracket My friend and I were watching and where’s we were like man Drew Timmy’s killing these backup bigs I think they should put Micah Peavey in the game because both my friend and I are obsessed with college basketball So we started chanting bringing in Peavey And we’d start screaming it And then we came in and they went on a big run and he was guarding Timmy So we were screaming “Put him on Timmy.” All all this stuff and all of a sudden they go on this big run He gets taken out of the game and Timmy scores a couple in a row and they go on a game-changing run and win the basketball game And so ever since then I thought man Micah Peavey was able to guard Drew Timmy And then I watched him the game prior and he was locking up wings that were super quick on Arizona State And the year before that I watched him guard uh briefly Benedict Matherin of Arizona And I thought man this guy can guard so many positions So he goes to Georgetown and he goes to Georgetown and he guards the best players in the Big East and he scores 17 points a game when his skill set was very little offense at TCU He scores 17 points a game and shoots nearly 40% from three And I and I think people forgot about how great of a defender he is how tenacious he is on the glass And he reminds me in the slightest way of Herb Jones in the sense that this is a guy at early in his career in Alabama was just good on defense and he was excellent on defense but later in his career started facilitating So Herb Jones was the point guard at Alabama won the SEC player of the year and yet his junior year of college he shot 7% from three Herb by no means a good shooter in the NBA but 7% from three as a collegiate junior means man he cannot shoot whatsoever Yet he was still the best player in the SEC the next season Mike Peavey was an all Big East selection because he was able to impact the game on offense and on defense Slashing shot well from three Now do I think he’s a good NBA shooter no But I just think that combination of athleticism and tenacity and versatility of roles and adaptability is hard to beat And I think he’s a guy that will be sneaky No one’s talking about that if the Jazz keep the 43 third 40 uh the picks in the 40 a and maybe even want to move up a little bit consolid picks and get to the mid-30s he’s a guy that I would take a long gander at that I don’t think many people are talking about and the last guy I’ve talk I’ll talk to you guys about is Dink Pate he’s a guy that many people talked about as having lottery potential but his consistency has been inconsistent he’s been consistently inconsistent and his shooting is a swing skill but he’s not the prerequisites that make you interested in taking a flyer on those guys even a late first type of thing but certainly at a second round pick So let me know if any of those guys intrigue you Hopefully you enjoy a little bit of story time of the March Madison of how I found an obscure prospect three years ago I’m very curious to see what happens in the first round I’ll be very curious and I’ll be tuned in as David takes back over at the start of next week and I’ll be in every day once more and I I would love to know what you guys think is the best case scenario for the Utah Jazz at pick five and pick 21 and then also what you think is most likely based on the rumors that you heard from Tony that you heard from Andy and thank you once again for listening all week long with me on Locked on Jad It’s always a pleasure filling in for David and talking to you guys It’s my favorite time of the year and hopefully the Jazz get a great pick So go Jazz I’m eager to see what happens and certainly will be commenting a lot on Twitter So thank you guys for engaging on the comments and with me on Twitter So let’s hope to get some Trey Johnson Will Riley magic That would be my preference Let me know yours Have a great day

Loved your opinion all fortnight, Leif.
Let's hope Wednesday is TRE Day! 🎶🎶
Gtown alum here. Im sitting here saying no way he’s going to mention Micah peavy but he should. He is that guy. Carries himself in all the right ways. Would love him in 2nd round.
Should focus on two way players now. Human sieves do not win champions.
Thanks for the solid 2 week fill-in. Really solid.
Let's go Leif Erickson
I would not take Will Riley in the first round
This isn’t “BREAKING”. Please stop with the click bait bullshit. Seriously. I love Locked in Jazz, but this kind of shit makes me not watch. Grow up. Stop perpetuating the issue of BS headlines that don’t pay off. “Breaking” means you have not only actual news to report, but something monumental. Just stop. Please. For the love of god and all things honest and good. Stop it.
JAZZ NEED DEFENSE, at 6 9, Fleming is a 40% shooter at 3, those long arms, foot speed, shot blocking, he is what we need
The Jazz have the worst D in the NBA, to ignore that is suicide, look at OKC, don't they have 7 to 8 guys who are better than average defenders
Jump to 19:19. Drake Powell is indeed the answer at #21.
We need to address our center need and perimeter defense
This dude needs to be the new host. Locke is terrible, he drives me nuts. I can’t listen to him butchering all the info on every player he mentions.
Your draft breakdowns have become a hi light for me every year as a Jazz fan. There's a lot of smart draft people out there but they usually don't talk about the jazz so I think we're pretty lucky to have Lief as a jazz fan who knows prospects and the draft about as well as anyone I've seen. Also Tre Johnson at 5 would be awesome. I've been concerned about us not getting him because of Ace tanking his draft stock but theirs been a lot of smoke around Charlotte selecting Kon if VJ isn't on the board so I'm still hopeful. I personally hope we use our seconds and some vets to trade up for Clifford or Coward. Which I don't think is unlikely, because bringing in 4 new rookies to add to the pile of young guys we have is probably not the best idea.
Are the Jazz trying to get both Dukies — Maluach and Knueppel? They would need to trade up from 21 and get the 9th pick.
My favorites are Kon Knueppel at 5 and Nique Clifford at 21.
If Egor Demin were available at 21, would you take him over the ones mentioned in this episode? Saw a draft board showing Egor dropping past 21 and made me wonder…?
I remember Micah Peavy; didn't know he transferred, but what I do remember is that he had a lively body and was quite good in transition. However, that shot of his looked painful. Don't forget about Johnni Broome in the second round: big time player with great hands. The Jazz need a quality back-up at center.
