Knicks Want A Donte DiVincenzo REUNION? + Mitchell Robinson Trade? | New York Knicks Rumors

[Music] it’s mailback time here on New York Knicks now by chat sports i am Marshall Green and we’re just going to answer questions from subscribers we go live every single Friday here on the channel and I want to start seeing all your beautiful faces there so subscribe turn your notifications on and come join us as we just like to kick back and chop it up with some diehard Knicks fans my man Brian Scan coming in with a $2 super chat what’s happening my man good to see you trade Robinson for a wing or a playmaker yeah look Mitchell Robinson is heading into the final year of his contract and he’s going to be making 12.9 million and I’m sure the New York Knicks are going to approach Robinson about a contract extension and if the Knicks are going to be unable to get Robinson to put pen to paper to sign that deal they’re going to look to trade him leon Rose has operated under a couple of principles and one of those is he wants to have team control over players he doesn’t like to have players go into final years of their contract because he doesn’t want to head into free agency where he may lose that player for nothing he’d rather trade a player that’s on a expiring $14 million deal for a guy that’s making two years$ 28 million so I think there is a world where they could trade Mitchell Robinson and I don’t mind trading Robinson because you’re going to be selling at an all-time high is his value ever going to be higher i still worry about the injury history for him for him i worry that he can’t make a free throw i worry that he does not contribute on offense outside of dunks and offensive rebounds which he does great he is a hell of a defender but it might be better for this Knicks team to trade him i can’t say that in stone without knowing what’s coming back via a trade so I’m not saying go out and trade him but I’m also not saying no way we could trade Robinson i’m I’m listening to calls i may even make some john Thddy what’s happening my man $5 super chat shout out to you talking players is cool but what about our coach why are things so quiet on the Mike Malone front the perfect fit emo what does that mean i know in my opinion i was just joking i’m bored much love bro uh look John Doy we love you bro look for Mike Malone i don’t think he’s in the running i don’t think the Knicks are interested um if they were they would have already reached out they would have scheduled an interview they don’t want another Tom Tibido rough rugged my way highway old guys only um they want a forwardthinking young head coach that’s innovative wants to develop young players adjusts to player skill set um Mike Malone is a good coach he is a good coach he’s just not the cup of tea that the New York Knicks are looking for in my opinion who is that coach going to be i don’t know at this moment sounds like Taylor Jenkins is the favorite all I know is I want him to hire a head coach and if you do as well hit that thumbs up icon i want to know who the next head coach of the New York Knicks is they’ve got interviews scheduled with Taylor Jenkins Mike Brown sounds like some more interviews could be coming next week i’ve been told they could look at some college coaches haven’t been given any names on that so we’ll see we’ll see as we continue to break it down on this channel yuri what up Beast $5 super chat thank you my friend right now it looks like the Knicks are following the OKC path of developing rookies and going younger we do need depth off the bench yeah like I don’t know if we’re going the OKC route but I I get what you’re trying to say the Knicks need someone that’s going to come in and develop a Tyra Kick develop an Ariel Hucky develop a Pakcom Dier and develop a Kevin McCuller Jr part of the reason Tom Tibido was fired is because he didn’t do anything to make Tyler Ko a better player this year or Pakome Doier a better player this year or Kevin McCuller Jr or Eric Hook Porty a better player and with the way the Knicks salary cap is set up and there’s not a lot of dollars to spend you need the guys that are already on the team on cheap cost controlled contracts to produce um they want a guy that’s going to prioritize depth that’s going to prioritize playing young players extending the rotation adjusting to fit the talent on the team uh and we’ll see who that is but I do think we’re going to see a lot more Hucky a lot more Kick and Dier next year it’s a good thing you want to see young players play because you need to continue to look forward and think forward as you grow a team and try to get them to be NBA champions levi’s the best what’s up bro always a real one people that say we should go get DVO I’m not sure about that because who would we give up it would be Mitch and is that worth DVO and was the year he had with the Knicks an outlier these are great points my man really good points chris Percionan of Clutch Points longtime Knicks Twitter guy awesome dude super dope um does great work with Nicks Film School as well i feel like I see him doing great work everywhere he said that he had heard the Knicks had some conversations back in January about a Dante even Tenzo trading trying to map and outline a way to bring him back in the offseason off season’s here and it’s just not a clear path for the Knicks to travel down at this point because how are the Knicks going to acquire Dante Devenenzo he signed a four-year $46 million deal with the Knicks in 2025 2026 is making 11.9 million reed could you pop up the cap sheet graphic again for me as we know the way the CBA works you got a match salary and a trade and if $1.9 million let’s look at the way the Knicks could acquire him how like Mitchell Robinson and then you get a player back and do the Timberwolves want to trade for Mitchell Robinson if they have the Rudy Gobear maybe they trade away Rudy Gobear and then they trade DVO to us and we get Robinson maybe we send them Josh Hart we get somebody back i don’t know do they want Josh Hart do they want Male Bridges and we get DVO back and we get another player worth $10 million i I don’t know there’s just not a clear way right now I see the Knicks being able to acquire Devenzo i would love for it to happen i love Steven Chenzo like that brother can hoop he He He can shoot the piss out of the ball he’s not scared he plays with moxy and ferocity a and there wasn’t as much of a country club private school AAU team coached by their dad feel with Devenzo and I love that the Knicks need a guy that’s willing to go against the grain but just because I want it doesn’t mean it’s going to happen and I don’t see how they make it happen johnson what’s up my man is the Johnny B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B B Bryant trade officially dead i would say it’s not dead but I don’t think it’s as likely as a lot of people was were hoping and believing it was when the Knicks offic uh initially fired Tom Tibido i had been I’ve been told that there are fans inside the building of Johnny Bryant i was told that Johnny Bryant was a Knicks organizational hire not a Tom Tibido hire um I don’t know if the Knicks love the way that Johnny Bryant left i’ll just say that they could always fall back on Johnny Bryant but I don’t know if the relationship is as good as maybe it once was noah what’s up should the Knicks target Gary Trent Jr i think so i think so look if you can get Gary Trent Jr for the veteran minimum that would be dope absolutely if you have to use the taxpayer mid-level exception I don’t mind that either really i could shoot the piss out of the ball he shoots 40% from three knicks were the 10th best three-point shooting team in the playoffs only 16 teams make the playoffs they left a lot of points on the board because of miss shots and this is an offense that creates a lot of open shots because Brunson gets double teamed and Carlante Towns gets double teamed and if you can add a guy off the bench that shoots 40% from three on north of 5.8 attempts per night that’s going to help you out so yeah Gary Trent Jr is on my short list of realistic free agent targets for the New York Knicks peter what’s up man would love to see male gone from the team for Triple J i just don’t know if the Grizzlies are going to trade him he’s 25 he’s a deep boy i just I I don’t know if they’re going to be all that motivated to trade him at this point maybe like I would love to have him he’s a hell of a player he He’s one of the best defenders in the NBA two-time all defense he’s a decoy and he’s growing as a shooter and a scorer every single year like we did the video check it out on the channel people believe that he in the next front office he’s a perfect pairing next Carl Anthony Towns if you could acquire Jiren Jackson you’re gonna have to give up Bridges and if you could roll out a starting five of Brunson McBride and Obie Jiren Jackson Jr and Carl Anthony Towns that would be dope but is it realistic is Memphis moving off of him are they going to want what the Knicks have to offer robinson and Bridges is probably the starting point and is even that enough or would they just sell him off to the highest bidder he is CIA or the mafia maybe they make it happen last question allan Nedwiki what’s up man marshall Alford can he bring better D though um he is what he is at this point he’s a 39year-old big man i thought he still can move his feet like I’m interested in him for the taxpayer mid-level exception he’s a center he’s a champion high IQ player all about the team he has a connection with Carl Anthony Towns he could shoot the ball he could be a floor spacing big he’s a good replacement if Towns gets hurt like I’m interested in Al Horford um yeah i just I’ll just leave it at that i’m interested in Horford name a free agent you want the Knicks to sign we know they don’t have much money really only add the veteran minimum and the taxpayer middle- level exception in their back pocket so name a player you want the Knicks to sign and make sure you are following me on social media i’m on Twitter i’m on IG hit me up let’s go knicks [Music]

  1. If Mitch is in a trade we should be a playmaker or u less he becomes more of an impact on the offense side of the ball. Post work desperately needs improvement

  2. Triple J would also need to upgrade his interior/ post game. Tired of all these bigs needing to shoot. Having one of those is enough.

  3. TTTTTTT. I like all the Knicks. That's my team since I was young so I've seen some pretty lean years. I really liked watching during the Ewing and Mark Jackson years and with Pat Reilly as coach. OK, so I like Mitch but he hasn't been any driving force for the Knicks, he doesn't score enough. The Knicks need a dominate center and at least 2 hot shot 3 pt. shooters. I didn't like the fact they traded Donte in the fist place. I think he can do more for the Knicks then Mitch. Bridges and Kat have had great games but they were not consistent during the play offs. JB can't keep being the main point maker game after game. He is and has proven he is Mr. Clutch but he needs others to step up or else replace them. My 2 cents.

  4. I would love to get divo back, he brought everything we were lacking this year. 3pt shooting, gritty defence, hustle, playmaking and someone who knows how to play on and off ball next to brunson.

Just an idea What are peoples thoughts on a 3 team trade KAT to Blazers for Ayton and Thybulle, then Thybulle to Wolves for Divo? we would probably get a couple first round picks from the blazers for KAT and possibly a 2nd round pick or 2 from the wolves for getting them off Divos 2 years left. Because I'm pretty sure they will want to cut salary if they extend Naz Reid and Randle.

We get divo back, keep mitch, get a young centre whos yet to hit his prime and who was a former 1 pick. save some money and get some picks

Who says no? Knicks Wolves or blazers?

  5. Hi Marshall, according to Rohan Raman of SI an ideal 3 team trade Atlanta Hawks receive Josh Hart, NYK receive the manta Sabonis, Keegan, Murray, Kobe Bufkin, Vic Krejci, 2030 1st rd pick via ATL lottery pick protected. Sacramento Kings received Karl-Anthony Towns, 20201st rd pick via NYK unprotected, 2030 1st rd pick via NYK unprotected. What do you think?

  6. Is everyone watching this video aware of the consequences of the Knicks using the Taxpayers Mid-Level Exception? The maker of this video talks quite a bit about how the Knicks can use the TPMLE to sign this free agent or that free agent. Unfortunately, it's not that simple. Per the Collective Bargaining Agreement, teams that use the TPMLE become hard capped at the second apron after doing so. Do the Knicks want to be hard capped at the second apron again like last season? Don't we remember the problems that were created by that hard cap with filling out last season's roster and coming up with a championship caliber bench unit? Also, the Math doesn't make sense for the Knicks to use the TPMLE. Currently, the Knicks have a team salary of $199,779,184 for next season with only 11 players signed. The projected second apron for next season is $207,825,000. Prior to the start of the season the Knicks will need to add at least 3 more players and eventually a 4th by the end of next year. So as of right now the Knicks are $8,045,816 below the second apron. The full TPMLE is approximately 5.7 million. If the Knicks sign a guy for that TPMLE for 5.7 million they will then only be about 2.3 million below the second apron hard cap with still 3 more players that will eventually have to be signed. Not mathematically possible. If the Knicks want to use the full TPMLE on a free agent, they will first have to make a trade with someone to dump existing salary to create space below the second apron to make it work. Someone might say, well PJ Tuckers contract isn't guaranteed so just cut him to make more room. Well, darn, that doesn't really do the Knicks any good because if they cut PJ Tucker and his contract which is basically a vet minimum, that would just create another roster spot that would have to be filled by what? Another vet minimum contract, so cutting PJ Tucker doesn't really get you anywhere salary wise.

Crystal Ball: Here is what is going to probably happen for the Knicks this summer. You are most likely losing Precious Achiuwa to free agency. You won't be using the TPMLE because of the math problem it would create. You will give your second-round pick 50th overall a two-way contract. You'll sign James Nnaji to a two-way contract. Your other two-way contract will be Kevin McCullar. You'll bring back Landry Shamet on a vet min. Then you'll sign two other free agents to vet min deals after they miss out on bigger contracts with someone else. There is only so much money to go around this year in free agency and there is likely to be some pretty good players that have to settle for vet min deals. The Knicks are one of the favorites in the East next year along with Cleveland and Orlando assuming the Celtics make salary cuts to lower their repeater tax penalty in a year that they don't have Tatum available, so you'll have the pick of the litter out of those who find themselves without a chair when the so-called free agency music stops. Then your 15th roster spot will remain vacant until sometime next March. That is the Knicks most likely offseason in a nutshell. Remember, the Knicks took two big swings last offseason with the Bridges and KAT trades. I get it. The fanbase is spoiled but there is a limit to what a franchise is capable of doing in such a short period of time. Advice. Pray for development from Dadiet, Kolek and Hukporti and maybe one of your two-way guys could pop. Embrace continuity and experience playing together for your core guys. McBride is still young and perhaps he can make a leap. Other than all this, keep hoping against hope that Leon Rose is going to go all McGuyver and turn a broken rubber band, a toothpick and some pocket lint into Giannis somehow. This is how the summer is going to go for the Knicks. Remember where you heard this first.

  7. Typical Knicks 3:34 management. Every season they make changes that are useless. They bring in new players don’t give the team time to gel. New York is a pressure pot. It’s a lot of pressure for these guy’s. Save the money and work with what you have. 11:08 11:08 We the supporters want a winning team, but getting rid of players every seasons you are destroying instead of trying to build. 11:08 It time to get rid of management.

  8. Mitch is severely underrated!!! He is a game changer with defense and offensive boards. Just because his stats aren’t all that he is a major problem for opposing teams and he’s a good home grown fit. I pray they don’t trade him especially because the defense kinda sucked this year with the new look team but when Mitch came back he was a game changer in that way

  9. Why the fuck they want to get rid off robinson all of you get on my nerves do not get rid of them i have when the knicks do dumb shit die hard dam since 8 years old get the fuck out her i’m saying that is no way to get rid of Alex. What the hell is wrong with y’all man y’all getting on my nerve with this dumb shit getting rid of Robinson man I can’t stand when y’all talk. Weird shit though since I was eight years old, can’t stand. Rid of you how about that?
