Keep him and he'll Ben Simmons' his way out of there and you'll be left in a even bigger mess than you already are. People forget how big of a diva KD can be.
suns messed it up when they got rid of ayton who was anchoring that defense. after that the team went to poop. their top players secured their bags and dont care anymore

Yeah sure because the value of a 37 year old will be higher when he's 39. On the other hand.. its the Suns. They're dumb enough to do that.
That's why everyone is all the Kings got fleeced no. They had no choice and were forced to trade him. Look at what we got for #2 compared to what we gave up for Fox… Sun's are going about this the wrong way the longer they take to trade KD the more his value goes down and they have absolutely no leverage in trading KD. If they keep him he can leave in a year and they get nothing. So them trying to get some huge haul for KD is just delusional at his age along with his huge contract SMH…
That is a move that would the GM fired. Durant leaves anyway at the end of the next season. They NEED to trade him and get something, anything, in return.
His name use to be Kevin Durant. Now, his name is 37 YEAR OLD KEVIN DURANT. But the Suns still want Kevin Durant value for him in return.
By KD speaking his preferred destination (Spurs) it's crippling for every other team involved. That's why they're hoping he changes his mind on Minnesota. He doesn't want to play with Ant cause he talked trash to him and beat him in the playoffs. He wants to play with Wemby cause Victor idolizes him. Also no real containts in this offense with Pop gone. If Victor is allowed to shoot 9 threes a game, KD being better at it is licking his chops.
He's got a penatrating guards, defensive guards, defensive minded Jeremy who isn't a scoring threat and an Alien that can do for KD what KD did for others… take the pressure off of him. Double and triple team Wemby makes KD's life easier and him more dangerous. KD's defensive assignment will be less cause Jeremy will take that guy. Wemby is roaming, Castle and Fox are ball hawking at the point of attack. Wemby is the main point of the offense, Castle will always force pressure on the paint, Fox is blistering fast and clutch… KD will feast off of our crew. Remember CP3 injury history? How many games did he play this year again?
All I’m saying is they are getting jerseys ready for KD. I can’t say anymore then that
I am fed up with hearing that, if a player is traded by X first round picks, the other player should be traded for Y first round picks.
The trading value of a player doesn't depend on the intrinsec value of this player but this is more a question of temporality (when the trade is done is more impacting !!!).
Both for the trade of Bane and of Bridges, both teams (Orlando and Knicks) have estimated that this player was the final piece to add to their team to make a run to the NBA finals. And this is why the trade appears so expensive.
By the way, the value of a pick is high only if this pick is in the lotery.
From the draft 2016 and 2017, respectively 15 and 12 players have already left the NBA (and only respectively 2 and 1 players are from the lotery).
The 2028, 2029 (swap) and 2030 picks from Orlando have almost no value (except filling your roster with cheap players !!! and perhaps if you are very very lucky, you can draft a Jokic !!) because Orlando will be a contender team.
If the Suns are not trading KD this summer, they could still trade him at the 2026 trade deadline but :
1) You keep a very toxic player in the locker room who definitely doesn't want to be here.
2) The trading value of this player will continue to fall down because KD will be an expiring contract after the end of the season.
Suns need to blow it up. Trade KD. Get Barnes/Vassell and trade them for drafts picks and finally trade Booker while he’s still valuable
I understand the suns thinking. I wanted a 10/10 girlfriend when I looked like a 5/10. Just an average Joe with average money. But I still wanted that 10/10 girlfriend. Sometimes you gotta settle otherwise you will lose out.

Also value doesn't go up either if they trade him mid season, the situation would be the same or even worse, even if he balls out. And if you approach the trade deadline teams would be like "lol, in 2 month i can get him for free" and get an even worse deal.

Spurs should offer five 2nd round picks (2025-2029) and 2029 1st round pick, Harrison Barnes, Keldon Johnson, Malakai Branham, and Blake Wesley for Kevin Durant.
You are never getting Kevin Durant. Spurs would be super scary if they did… But you'll still be kinda' scary without him, right? Why would the Suns trade Durant if the trade makes the team worse? 😂 That's why there's strong consideration to run it back and trade him before the next trade deadline.
