so could the Atlanta Hawks be trading away Trey Young to the Brooklyn Nets this 2025 NBA offseason well here on the screen is a trade proposal or a trade idea from fadeawayorld.net the link to this article is down below in case you want to go ahead and check it out for yourself but this trade would see the Brooklyn Nets receiving Trey Young and the Atlanta Hawks receiving D’Angelo Russell Cam Johnson and a 2026 firstround draft pick from the Houston Rockets now in my personal opinion this just is pretty intriguing for both sides now from the Hawks perspective I actually like this trade quite a bit you’re giving up on the Trey Young era for sure but you’re basically handing the torch to players like Tyson Daniels Jaylen Johnson and of course Zachary Reese so a bit of a new look uh for this Hawks organization but truthfully speaking given how the trailing era has sort of turned out so far in Atlanta this might not be a terrible idea look at the teams playing now between the Thunder and the Pacers the Hawks aren’t too many moves away from being that team being really deep having some good stars in their starting lineup and I think getting De’Angelo Russell and more of maybe more of a sheltered role is a pretty good move there i think Cam Johnson you know is a good starting player for this team and that first round draft pick from the Rockets likely in sort of the mid to high 20s next year but you can always package that pick up in a future trade and get back some other assets so giving up on the best player but you’re getting back some more depth and truthfully speaking might not be a terrible idea for the Hawks to consider from the Nets perspective they want to get a legitimate star player this off season i think Trey Young going to the Brooklyn Nets it could definitely be that guy um this would be a pretty intriguing trade if you ask me i think that Trey Young in the New York City area would just be an awesome player like him and his rivalry against the Knicks for instance this would bring this Nets rivalry to life uh this would be awesome he’d be filling number one for Knicks fans and absolutely beloved from Nets fans so the Nets would be getting their star player they’re looking for they still keep players like Zire Williams Cam Thomas and Nick Claxton in this deal so perhaps this team could be a playin team next year maybe a playoff team whatever the case may be but one of those trades that actually does benefit both teams in different ways if I had to pick a winner I’m actually going to go with the Atlanta Hawks by a small margin but as always leave your thoughts
