The Defense of Scottie Pippen narrated by Kobe Bryant

if I’m a young player coming into the league today I would really focus on the defensive end of the floor and look at Scotty Pipper i mean this guy was a genius it’s ball pressure playing passing lanes blocking shots taking charges and he played with a passion on the defensive end of the floor like no this is the most exciting part of the game to the playoff defense of Pippen has always been his trademark it really has i think it’s more intense he plays during the regular season i think he takes it up to another level here in the fans oh he’s got like the ability he’s a He’s a free safety like a football he can double anywhere he has such an unusual ability defensively Scotty Pippen is everywhere tonight he is all over the passing another one of Scott Pippen’s many many skills he steals ball he’s got the long arms he’s an excellent team defensive still these are the unsustain and this is another reason why the Bulls are the champions

Kobe Bryant explains why Scottie Pippen is widely regarded as one of the greatest defenders in NBA history. His defensive prowess was defined by a rare combination of athleticism, versatility, ball IQ and relentless intensity. At 6’8″ with a 7-foot wingspan, he had the size to battle in the post and the agility to guard perimeter players. Pippen had an exceptional understanding of team defense. He was particularly great at help defense with anticipation to play passing lanes and being a step ahead to cover teammates by rotating to cut off driving lanes and taking the charge.

  1. It’s a crime that pippen never won a single DPOY award. Dude was a menace on those bulls teams and the ultimate Robin to MJs Batman 🤦🏽‍♂️🏀

  2. You don't see guys like this to where you have to worry about them on both ends of the field anymore.. Scotty was always so underrated…

  3. I remember back in the day you couldn’t really mention Jordan w/o Pippen… nowadays it’s just Jordan… man how the times change
