when the Heat are on the clock at 20 if they are keeping that pick they need to take swings they do and I don’t see Walter Clayton Jr as a swing because if you are just going to continue to take older prospects that have a limited ceiling but a high floor then you are just going to continue to build a roster that is good but not great and you’re not going to be able to win a championship are you in the business of winning championships the Miami Heat supposed to be or are you just trying to field good competitive teams to make the playoffs make money and then just be first round playoff exits if that’s the goal then go ahead take Walter Clayton Jr no problem with that you sell tickets Florida fans but if you’re trying to win a championship you just can’t convince me that Walter Clayton Jr would be a good pick at that 20th overall spot

    Walter Clayton would be a great pick not sure why you don’t think so . Considering how bad miami has been to attract or finish the deal on getting an all star here we should just develop our young guys and he would be a huge part of that . Hopefully nail a big name summer 2026

    I think we are doing a draft day trade personally but the Walter Clayton hate needs to stop.

    Heat need to trade up to the sixth pick Duncan, Larson, Jacquez, 20th pick for Utah’s 6th or Brooklyn’s 5th pick Tre Johnson. Tre Johnson with 6’ 11 wingspan
    He clocked the fastest time in the lane challenge.
    Feel confident Heat will trade out of the 20th pick.

    This current heat team is on the same skill level as the 2021-2022 dejounte murray/derick white led spurs team. Good enough to fight for a playin spot but not bad enough to land a top 4 pick in the draft. The heat need to blow it up like the spurs did by trading Murray and white so they can bottom out and start an actual rebuild. The spurs tanked for 3 seasons and ended up with wemby, castle and now Harper. This heat team will be lucky to make to the playoffs next season and if they do, they’ll be one and done. Trade Bam and/or Herro and start the rebuild.

    Walter Clayton had multiple workouts with Miami and I think the Heat have had the most interest in him lately. Originally I thought he was going to the Magic, but the Heat now have a chance to get him earlier now that the Magic traded their 16th overall to the Grizzlies. I’m not surprised. I myself like UF, and he lead the basketball team to a March Madness championship as the #1 option. That is someone you must get on your team. I would say let him develop and learn behind Davion in the preseason and beginning of the season, eventually try starting him after the beginning of December. If he performs better than Davion then I would start him with Herro for the backcourt.
