I literally can’t fathom how nasty this dude is, and yet people are out here as if he is boring!? BORING? When’s the last time we got to see someone in the FINALS! Who CANT he guarded? Literally they just HAVE to try to play illegally physical with him, which is fine and fair! Or double and triple him, because his handle and drive and scoring skills are THAT good.
There’s just times in life where you know you see something clearly and the masses dont. This is one of those times. Shai won me over as a Celtics fan. I genuinely like him so much more than any of our players. I rooted as hard for him as anyone on our team this year. He’s literally legendary already. Never seen someone on this level this good at embarrassing defenders and making them fear you and be forced to grab and beg for help.
I also didn’t see a SINGLE “flop” from him this series. I saw one all series vs Minny that I would say is on the same level as the flops I saw Jokic try vs Nuggets or Nembard pull off over and over vs OKC.
I think Shai being one of the most amazing players we have ever seen, possibly the most impossible to guard isolation PG of all time, yet being hated the way he is, is the perfect anecdote for how effed up social society was in the year 2025. All you’d have to do is show someone hours of his highlights, zero FTs and fouls, and his numbers, and tell them at the time the mass opinion was that he was a “boring flopper FT merchant”
That would about do the situation justice for those future people lol.
You could also show him like he’s like in the 18th percentile for FTs per game among all 30 ppg scorers ever 😂
