FINAL Miami Heat NBA Draft Targets With The 20th Pick Ft. Nolan Traore & Rasheer Fleming

FINAL Miami Heat NBA Draft Targets With The 20th Pick Ft. Nolan Traore & Rasheer Fleming

[Music] it’s officially NBA draft night The Heat did not land Kevin Durant so they still have the 20th overall pick And on today’s show I am going to go through my final draft targets for Miami assuming they keep that pick going into tonight I’ll also look at what positions I’m targeting for Miami My big board I’ll rank them all And then at the end I got a couple prospects that I would crash out over if the Heat ultimately take them at 20 But hey it is draft day If you’re fired up if you’re ready to go for tonight we’ll be live So make sure you’re subscribed but hit that thumbs up icon if you are fired up for the NBA draft It’s going to be a lot of fun We’ll see who the Heat take All right When we talk about what Miami should look for here in the draft I think they should be targeting guards They should be targeting wings And I do want to clarify this as well as we go and look at these draft targets I am ranking them by where I’d want them So the number one guy that we’ll talk about is the player that I want the Heat to ultimately take at 20th the most And then as they fall down the board you’ll see where I rank some of these prospects But Miami should clearly be looking to upgrade their back court alongside Tyler Herro and should be looking for an athletic wing These are two prospects here I want to quickly discuss because I do not believe there is a world that they end up making it to the 20th pick It’s what I personally believe I both have them as top 10 prospects in this draft class But there have been some mock drafts out there where Yakonis is there at pick 17 Aigor Demen makes it to the Wizards or Nets at 18 or 19 right in front of Miami So if they have a chance to slip that far then I guess maybe it’s not the craziest thing to assume they are at 20 I’ll say it right now If one of these two are available with that 20th pick and the Heat don’t take them I’m driving down to Miami myself in rioting in front of the arena which I borderline want to anyway with how botch this Kevin Durant trade situation was But that’s neither here nor there But before we officially get into my prospects like I mentioned we’re looking for a backcourt partner for Tyler Herro and we’re looking for an athletic wing I know a lot of you might say why do we need athletic wings We have Andrew Wiggins we have Yovic we have Hawkins They’re simply not good enough to win in the NBA playoffs I think that was very detailed by that first round drubbing by the Cleveland Cavaliers and how much they struggled in the regular season So with the number one prospect on my big board for Miami I’m going with the guard from France Nolan Triori Miami needs a high upside player with this pick because the only way they get out of the mediocrity they are in right now is if they either draft a superstar or trade for a superstar And there aren’t many superstars available with the 20th pick But there are some guys that can have that upside I view Triori as one of those He has spent the last couple of years playing professional ball for San Quinton Super high usage rate Literally had a 34% usage rate Last season this season about 29.4% His first step is absolutely wicked He is a blur in transition He struggles shooting the ball a little bit which is a concern Doesn’t have the best shot from deep but his ability to get two feet in the paint when driving to the rim is just huge And when you’re looking at guards guards that can get in the paint get to the rim finish but also draw the defense in to collapse allowing you to kick out are just so pivotal in today’s game He had a 41.4% assist rate this past season That ranks in the 97th percentile Just ridiculous numbers from Triori 6’3 without shoes 68 wingspan So with his speed his size he projects as someone who can play both ends of the floor at a high level take some of the playmaking duties off Tyler Herro’s hands and you could see him flourish in the 305 Reason why I have him number one Number two on my list Cedric Coward the forward from Washington State I’ll be honest I almost want to put him in the list with Yakonis and Demen because at this point in the draft process I do not think there’s a world where he ultimately is there at 20 I feel like the Suns at 10 might take him I think San Antonio at 14 might take Coward as well He’s just got so much upside He’s 6’5 without shoes 72 wingspan so an unbelievable physical profile but he showed so many good things in the six games he played at Washington State this year Fortunately suffered that shoulder injury which cost him his season And if you paid attention to the college basketball cycle he committed to Duke in the transfer portal while being open to the draft had such a good combine stayed in the draft and he’s going to be a first round pick without hesitation He gets to the mid-range he posts up smaller defenders He reminds me just so much of Jaylen Williams the wing from the OKC Thunder who obviously was just the second option on a championship winning team Do I think Coward can become that Maybe Not going to guarantee it but as I mentioned with Triori I want to take a high upside swing with that 20th overall pick And two guys that I believe have a chance of being there are Triori and Coward Those are the two highest ceilings out of any of the players I believe that would be around that area which is why I have them at number one and number two on my big board Name your guy My number one guy I want Nolan Triori Who do you want the Heat to draft Who is the guy that you think is reasonable but is also the number one dude on your board Let me know your thoughts in the comments I’ve been pounding the table for Rasher Fleming a while now and I would have had him number one a long time ago in this draft process but I don’t think his ceiling is as high as Troy and Cowards because he doesn’t have the ball handling and playmaking possibilities that Coward and Triori expl or show out here But with Fleming 6’8 75 wingspan finished 66% of his shots at the rim shot 39% from three He is very versatile on the defensive end of the floor He can guard twos threes fours even five small ball His size is so impressive He’s stocky He’s athletic He can defend so many different positions which is something we know Eric Spolstra values so much in his defensive scheme Would he start right away for Miami Probably not I also don’t think Cedric Coward would either to be honest because Wiggins if he stays on this roster would likely be your starting three But Fleming is just such a Miami Heat guy He will probably be available in that range I have him as a top 16 player in this draft class Fleming would be a great pick for Miami as well Nick Clifford the guard forward out of Colorado State is my fourth guy here You want versatility on the offensive end Clifford is your guy He started his career playing for Colorado then transfers to Colorado State and it just went so many different progressions which I love Was a bench player a role player at Colorado Then at Colorado State played second fiddle to current Heat two-way player Isaiah Stevens Then this season took the reigns as the number one guy Led the Rams to the NCAA tournament the Mountain West championship averaged 19 and 10 Just absolutely ridiculous stuff Rebounds way better than he should for his position Can play off ball can play on ball He is a guy that just fits right into what Miami needs If you want Hero to play the one and be the on ball creator for Miami going forward you’ll want a guy like Nick Clifford alongside him at the two because he can defend He could be a secondary ball handler and he could complement him very well as well as the rest of that Heat starting lineup Older prospect but he’s someone that will contribute and play right away Make sure you do subscribe not only for daily Miami Heat content but for our live show We’ll be live for day one of the draft tonight be live tomorrow as well for day two Despite Miami not having a pick we’re still going to come hang out and talk about the rest of the NBA action So subscribe for more Daily Heat content Number five is going to be a little bit of a shocker here but I’m going to go with a Dutiero the wing from Arkansas I have just continued to grow on him so much He reminds me of the Thompson twins I think he could be their third long lost brother if we’re going to be completely honest started at Kentucky with coach Calipari then follows him to Arkansas and had his best season this past year for the Razerbacks in terms of raw stats He is an excellent finisher around the rim He was in the 91st percentile in shots at the rim made 92nd percentile in non-p paint two made He is excellent defensively with his 66 and a quarter size seven foot wingspan 3.4 steel percentage and a 2.9 block percentage The only knock on Fiero is the fact that he doesn’t really have a jumper but you get free throw lineed in this guy is as dynamic as it gets And with the Heat having one of the best developmental systems in the entire NBA and one of the best shooting systems in the NBA just look at what Caleb Martin Max Drew Gabe Vincent Heywood Highmith Duncan Robinson Kendrick Nun this is the last five years Like I would believe they would get the best out of Ado’s jumper You can’t teach his athleticism You can’t teach his size would be awesome off the bench for the Miami Heat as one of those athletic 3 and D wings I think he reminds me a lot of Payton Watson from Denver and that’s someone that I could like to have off the Heat’s bench As we get to the back half of my draft targets I’ll put Jace Richardson here at number six A player that a lot of Heat fans have been in the comments looking for The one knock I have on Jace is just his size And unfortunately it’s a real concern He’s six foot without shoes So yeah he’s 61 and change but he plays more as a off ball guard So are you going to be able to have an offball guard like that next to hero that small or are you going to trust that his limited sample size in terms of his playmaking could translate to a larger role and a usage rate in the NBA There’s no doubt about this Jay is incredibly good in terms of his feel for the game He cuts extremely well He relocates after making a pass a simple thing but he does it at an extremely high level Aggressive defender as well at the point of attack He’s crafty And I mentioned the small usage rate The potential is there Not a lot but he was in the 91st percentile as the ball screen handler So maybe he can really take that next step and be a lead handler in the NBA If I’m looking for a guard I’d probably prefer someone that fits next to hero better than Jace but I certainly would not be upset with Richardson being the pick at number 20 I would not be upset if they went with Ben Saf either the guard from Israel Now he is more of your prototypical NBA guard due to his size He is 65 six seven and a half wingspan So he is someone who fits that functional size guard role that you see more and more here in the NBA He’s been playing extremely well for ratio farm overseas as they are in the German league championship series He’s almost leading them to a title He doesn’t have the best jumper but I think that would improve as well in the NBA His release point is extremely high His jumper I hate to say it because I know he’s a lefty guard from overseas but it just looks like Gorandragic If you remember watching Goran in Miami he had that high arcing release with the one-handed follow through Sarah almost resembles that to a T He gets to his spots really well Runs the pick and roll good He makes some nice passes across court Whips him out of nowhere in the half court set Limited athletically is the concern for sure But his size playmaking and ability to get to his spot in the mid-range is certainly something very enticing for me Another player that I don’t think I would be thrilled with but I’m also not going to be upset if the Heat took him with that 20th overall pick Whatever player Miami does draft tonight they will be wearing one of these hats whether it’s on Zoom or on stage So get yours today You can get the black one that’s curved the white one that’s flat First ever time They got bucket hats How cool is that Get yours today right now chatports.com/heat2025draft hats links in description and comments of today’s video Represent Miami wherever you go Let’s move over to number eight here with Ace Newell I’m not really that in on taking a backup big man but I’m also not going to shy away from it Like if the board falls in extremely weird way There is a way that I am happy and okay with going big man One of those would be if Thomas Sorber from Georgetown’s there I don’t have him on this list I think he’s basically a locked to go top 15 now And even then it would still be a question if I want to go with Sorber over a guard because do you really want to address the center spot to be a backup behind wear and bam Again it’s it’s a very low need for Miami Like if your ranking needs I’m going guard I’m going wing I’m going shooting and then maybe we’ll talk about a backup back But I do like Asa Noel to the point where I would contemplate taking him I prefer him over Danny Wolf I wouldn’t prefer him over Sorber but if you’re talking about centers I do have him number four on my list behind Sorber behind Queen and behind Malawatch He was very aggressive I like his motor I like his fit Like he is a heat culture type of guy with how hard he plays on a consistent basis He also showcased the ability to step out and knock some threes for Georgia as the season went along He is aggressive He is switchable defensively which I hate to keep on bringing that up but we know the Heat play a defense that requires people to switch almost every single time a ball screen is set Is that the smartest thing No And we could have a conversation about that in a different day But if you are going to run that system it’s probably smarter to have a lot of players that can do it I think Newuel fits that mold with his foot speed his verticality to fit in that and I really like his potential fit if the Heat did want to go big man at 20 A player that might shock some people I got Tyrese Proctor as my ninth guy for Miami I have him over Walter Clayton I have him over Cam Jones I am a fan of Proctor and I have a first round grade on him which I’m not in the most popular of NBA draft people that have that like most people have him as an early to midsec round pick I see Aaron Nesmith when I watch Proctor play I I’m serious And it’s been an interesting road for Proctor because he was a five-star recruit when he came from Australia to Duke He was thought of as this unbelievable point guard with his size 6’4 without shoes He can playmake he can score he can shoot it But it’s never really clicked early on in his tenure for the Blue Devils But then this season he had a brand new role They took the ball out of his hands on ball and said “Proctor you know what we’re going to do We’re going to really lean into you as an offball spacer a shooter and a secondary ball handler We’re going to let Khan Canppel handle it We’re going to let Cion James handle it We’re going to let Cooper Flag handle a little bit And what happened Proctor’s efficiency jumped through the roof Shot 40% from three this year Had his best season offensively as well And allowed him to showcase how effective he could be defensively as well with his long wingspan his physicality his aggre aggressiveness You want to talk about someone who could work next to Tyler if you’re making him the full-time one Proctor is that guy Tyrese also did go through a workout with Miami Not many people got that report They he kept a very tight lip this year in terms of who they were working out Proctor was one of them I do want to mention Jace Richardson was one of them as well But Proctor’s a guy that’s growing on me I think he can play the two or three in the NBA If you want to really lean into his offball and shooting I think that’s going to be an interesting pick 20 might be a little rich but I would not be crazy upset with it Cam Jones is going to be the final player that I put on my list of 10 prospects here I know my guy stretch for a bam on Twitter really likes Cam Jones but I I just can’t get behind him being the pick for Miami at 20 He’s just so limited athletically He’s an older prospect Now do I think he’s going to be a fine pro I do He’s crafty He can finish in the paint at ease He’s actually one of the best guards in this entire draft in terms of putting pressure on the rim and finishing He had a really good season playmaking He never was asked to be a playmaker for Marquette due to them having Tyler Kick the past couple of years but then had that big step Had a 3.1 assist to turnover ratio and a 38.1% of assist rate after not being in the 20% plus range in his first three seasons at Marquat So he showed the ability to be an initiator I think he is more of a combo guard He reminds me a little bit of an Andrew Nemhart I kind of comped him to an older Mike Connley Um Ty Jerome type of guy to where he can be a change of pace Not going to beat you athletically but just knows how to get to his spots can shoot it from deep Had a high usage rate last season I like Cam just think if you’re taking a guy at 20 like someone with a little bit more of an upside pick which is why I have him a little bit lower on my list I mentioned earlier that there’s two prospects I’d crash out over if the Heat took him at 20 These are the two Walter Clayton Jr and Will Riley These two happen I’m unbelievably upset And I know this person in particular is going to rile some Heat fans up because everyone likes the Florida Gator connection I don’t care I don’t He is an undersized guard older prospect He’s a good shooter He comes up and plays big in big moments Sure But are we taking a guy that is like a Cole Anthony a Payton Pritchard at 20 I don’t know if I’m in on that Just not sold on his fit with Miami Will Riley reasons why I’m out on him Frail super small frame negative wingspan I sorry I don’t like a guy with a negative wingspan Can’t defend We see people get take advantage of that all the time Desmond Bane’s a good defender but he’s got T-Rex arms so people just rise over the top and shoot over him every time You know who else has a very bad wingspan Tyler Ero he can’t defend either So I question his ability to defend at the next level and he’s really not that good of a shooter at this point in his career I do like the aggressiveness he drives to the rim He is not afraid to get to the rim and he draws free throws but until he improves his strength he’s just going to get bullied in the NBA So kind of out on these two So hopefully they don’t take them But make sure you also follow me on Twitter as we close out today’s show Nick_rolloff is my handle because I will actually break who the Heat pick first over there before we come over and make a video later tonight when the Heat make that pick at 20 assuming they don’t trade it So make sure you go give me a follow right now [Music]

  3. I’d rather a guy who can shoot the ball and create his own shot . This guy loves Newell who is a half inch taller than Clayton . But since his arms are 3 inches longer he is a better prospect ? Cmon man this guy Newell can’t even shoot I don’t want a guard who can’t shoot

  4. I haven’t even finished watching the video and bro got jase Richardson who is EVEN SMALLER than Walter Clayton above WC it’s crazy bro Richardson is a catch and shoot SG not a PG this guy just has something against WC
