Marc Lore & Alex Rodriguez: First Official Message To Timberwolves Fans

hello Timberwolves faithful i’m Michael Grady the television voice of the Minnesota Timberwolves and I’m really excited to be joined by the new controlling owners of the Timberwolves and Lynx Mark Lori Alex Rodriguez mark Alex thank you so much for joining me and addressing the best fans in the entire world and I know they’re looking forward to hearing what you have in store for the franchise and so let’s start with you Mark on this one and I’ll get your thoughts on this Alex as well um what are you most excited about now that the transition is complete yeah I mean we’ve been working behind the scenes the last four years and we’re just looking forward to getting the keys and getting under the hood and focused more on what we can do for the fan experience for the community yeah it’s just really excited to to go into listening mode and really understand what we can do better as an organization we want to hear from you fans uh we want to know what’s working what’s not we’ve done right wrong we’re going to be maniacally focused on creating a long-term sustainable culture of winning on and off the court alex same question michael we’re so excited man this is uh such a dream come true for us i mean we’ve been involved now for 4 years but one of the things that Mark and I have talked about is our fan base and how incredibly passionate they are knowledgeable engaged how much winning means to them and I love that their expectations for us is really really high and we just want to keep building on that and take it to the next level well a lot of success back-to-back Western Conference finals mark what do you want Timber Timberwolves fans to hear the loudest about your plans and expectations for the franchise movement yeah I think if I had to pick one thing it would be we are not moving the team ever we’re never moving the team very clear very clear alex uh can you speak to uh any plans for a new arena yeah you know I think Michael when you look at it um we’re the second oldest arena after Madison Square Garden so it’s something that Mark and I has been in our vision from day one i mentioned that we’re not far removed from another deep Timberwolves postseason run what was that experience like for both of you yeah I mean the the runup obviously was was exciting uh the team looked great in the first two rounds i think we’ve got a good foundation to build upon for next year and I think we’re going to be back that’s the goal is get back and get through it this time what is the vision what would you say is the vision moving forward the vision is to be the most respected admired organization in sports around the world and that includes more than winning is the behavior is the character of the people in the building is what we do in the community is how we impact the great Twin Cities the love and the passion for basketball in the Twin Cities is second to none you mentioned the word community mark how do you go about making a impact in the community yeah it first starts with just being actively involved being out there being in the community listening learning uh we’re going to be investing in the community uh we also have a a major partnership in the community that we’re excited to announce uh in the very near future here nice how do you go about hearing from the fans and what they want uh we need to be asking fans talking to them some of it is is you know numerical like fill out these surveys other is just having conversations being out there in all parts of the arena and sitting down next to a fan and talking and what do you like and don’t like what you wish were different what you know what could we do better uh we’re going to be in active listening mode in the early days here uh we don’t have all the answers and I think Michael I mean you know adding to what Mark said is you know we’re also willing to have some uncomfortable conversations which means our biggest and most important partners are our fan base and we want to hear from them the good the bad and the ugly and we have to handle it and we have to write them down and go to work on them because we are obsessed with customer service and the fans are always [Music]

Marc and Alex know what this team means to Minnesota. Now they’re focused on elevating it.

  1. Love that they so clearly stated that they are NEVER moving the team, but also that we are pretty overdue for a new arena. I hate using a new arena as a way to hold a city hostage or else you'll move…they can be two completely separate issues.

  2. They're definitely getting tired of getting asked about moving the team, I don't blame them 😂 Minnesotans are kind of crazy paranoid about that.

  3. It’s a shot of fresh air. I’m particularly impressed with Marc Lore. He got a good business and community sense.

  4. We need a more engaging fan experience. we lost to OKC partly because of their home crowd experience. It got into our players heads a bit. They need to find ways to get the fans louder and more engaged like OKC does

  5. please make the alternate jerseys with better designs. they've been hot garbage for the last 4-5 seasons.

  6. If Michael Grady keeps getting tapped for nat'l. games… then hopefully it can be akin to the 'Mike-Breen-splitting-his-time' situation.

  7. If the wolves win it all next year, then MN becomes the State of Basketball. None of that State of Hockey bs. LFG

    Wolves & Lynx

    Vikings are coming

  8. please keep doing a great job with the lynx! i can't wait to see some positive changes for the wolves lfg

  9. Marc Lore & Alex Rodriguez made a contract they would stay in Minnesota if they made the Timberwolves leave Minnesota can Glen Taylor try to get the Timberwolves back what would happen
