this is crazy guys the Toronto Raptors they have emerged as a serious trade suitor for Celtics guard Derek White just hours before the NBA draft this is according to Brett Seagull of Clutch Points the Raptors they have reportedly offered the Celtics number nine in Derek White trade talks of course there’s been a lot of craziness happening in the NBA the Boston Celtics especially have dismantled their roster they’ve made a lot of moves they’ve traded Drew Holiday Chris Porzingis they’re looking to be aggressive they’re reportedly taking offers for Jaylen Brown and Derek White and they got their eye on potentially moving into the top 10 of the draft and obviously with the Raptors are situated right now they will be picking number nine in the draft just a few hours away by the way guys I the channel for more i mean this is very interesting because we all know about how the Raptors want to get aggressive this summer the big fish narrative could Messiah Jiri leverage this pick in a deal and could he do a deal with the Celtics a team that is very aggressive right now The Celtics they are getting offers for White they’re listening to offers and when you look at this trade it’s funny because the other day I was literally just thinking to myself Derek White would be an absolutely perfect fit on the Toronto Raptors he’s the perfect kind of player the Raptors need right now in their starting lineup in my opinion he’s a great shooter great defender he’s that 3 and D type player and having that guy in your starting lineup spacing the floor alongside Scotty Barnes and Brandon Ingram that’s exactly what this team needs like that’s the missing piece and Derek White on the Raptors moves me i mean Emanuel Quickley Derek White Brandon Ingram Scotty Barnes Yaka Purle like that’s an enticing five and I know a lot of people aren’t as high on Derek White but I think he’s he’s very good i I I think he could even be considered underrated like he was a big part of that Celtics team winning the championship we all talk about Tatum and Brown being special porzingis too in that NBA Final Series but Derek White was consistently solid for the Celtics and I love how he plays well on both sides of the ball like the Raptors need a 3 and D type player so Derek White with Brandon Ingram and Scotty Barnes like that’s a good enough trio and team that could be a top five top four team in the East like that really puts the Raptors into that upper echelon I believe and allows this team to really go for it and try to compete in an Eastern Conference that we know is going to be wide open the Boston Celtics they’re taking a serious step back it looks like they’re hitting the reset button with all these moves the Milwaukee Bucks are not going to have Damen Lillard the Indiana Pacers are not going to have Tyrese Hallebertton so outside of the Knicks Cavs and Magic call it there’s going to be a big opportunity we saw the Hawks get aggressive i love that move for them taking a chance on Porzingis which essentially cost them nothing so we’re seeing like the teams that are in that middle to low ground they’re probably going to get aggressive in hopes of jumping up and and trying to be a real player next season and one of those teams is the Toronto Raptors like I don’t think they’re going to be quiet obviously they weren’t able to land Kevin Durant even though they were in a lot of those trade discussions giannis is off the market but I do think Messiah Jiri wants to make a big upgrade and this is an upgrade that could be worth making and the trade here would be number nine which of course that is something that is tough to give up on because it’s like number nine gets you a young prospect and then the other part of this deal for salary purposes it would be RJ Barrett that’s what the deal would ultimately look like got to think like a lot of teams right now are probably inquiring about Derek White and calling up the Celtics and I think Derek White like that asking price it’s gone up because of how well he’s played and how much of a big catalyst he was on that championship on that championship team so you would be looking at something like RJ Barrett who again has been in a ton of rumors raptors reportedly looking to move him shopping him that was a report the other day by Hoops Hypes Michael Scoto i did a separate video on that and number nine for Derek White like I’m I’m pretty inclined to a move like that i I just think a player like White fits perfectly and I think that’s what the Raptors need they need a 3 and D they need a guy who can shoot the ball very very well space the floor especially when you’re playing with guys like Scotty and BI who demand a lot of attention and who commits defensively like I said that starting five moves me of quickly white Brandon Ingram Scotty Barnes and Yaka Purle and you you know you still keep your young guys in Jacobe Walter Grady Dick Jamal Shed Abaji Mo etc so it is big uh you know obviously giving up the number nine pick that is a valuable pick but uh the Celtics it looks like they are trying to get into that top 10 that’s been another report they are strongly looking to get into that top 10 and the Raptors have that valuable ticket so if this is accurate again you know how accurate is this source Brett Seagull I think he was accurate though with the Celtics trade their previous trade the Pzingis trade so again you know this is a a source that is not like a Shams or one of the regular sources but Brett Seagull of Clutch Points he had a good read on the Celtics last trade so we’ll see if he has a good read on this um but yeah if you’re the Raptors you know you’re looking at a deal of RJ Barrett again the Raptors it seems like they are open to trading Barrett if it means they’re going to get an upgrade but the big piece here is that number nine pick you know would you be willing to part ways with the number nine pick I I think Derrick White is a very very good player you know I see some comments saying like oh like are you really going to trade for Derek White Like like he doesn’t move the needle like I’m a huge fan of him and I think you can’t look at him as like just a singular player in this instance you got to look at him and what he’ll mean with the complimentary stars that the Raptors have and I think that’s this is the perfect player to plug in there with Barnes and BI like this is it right here this is the the archetype like you need a player like this and it’s a guy who’s already in his prime you know he’s going to be 31 on July 2nd but has shown no signs of slowing down he’s only gotten better and you know you look at his stats averaged 16.4 points last season with the Celtics the year before 15.2 so obviously you know this is a guy who elevated his game with Boston a big reason why they were able to win that championship and then you know the 38% from three he shot in the regular season 44% from the field and in the postseason he shot 38 and a half% so he’s a guy that hits threes and plays good defense like that that’s what you need so we’ll see how aggressive the Raptors get i’m interested to see what’s going to happen guys are they going to keep the pick Are they going to trade the pick We’re literally gonna find out very very soon but wanted to put this out there it seems like the Raptors are inquiring about Celtics
