Lakers Close To Walker Kessler Trade? Celtics In The Way!

what’s going on everyone so Walker Kesler he is the center that I most prefer on the Lakers i have been screaming from rooftops for the Lakers to land Walker Kesler for like years now right i mean even last year I was making videos during the offseason where I was like I this is just a video to speak this into existence i’ve been trying everything been you know doing doing the the Pascal Siakami roll like talking to whoever he was talking to anything to get Walker Kesser on the Lakers and there have been times where it looked like it was going to happen there were times where it looked like it was getting close and we are in one of those times once again there is a ton of buzz about the Lakers landing Walker Castle right now from all kinds of sources all kinds of you know again it it’s one of those things where until it happens I’m not going to get too high or too excited but um there were just literally reports coming out as I was getting ready to record this video that Utah um may be looking at kind of clean slate and have made basically everybody on their roster available everybody John Collins Walker Kesler Lori Markin you name it um that you know that they basically with Danny Ains when they brought him in they kind of wanted to kind of pick a new direction clean slate they have the fifth pick they might go that route there’s one hiccup though that I’m seeing um kind of gaining a little traction again everything’s rumor and speculation till it actually happens and that is the Boston Celtics coming in and swooping Walker Casser from us so one reports are that Boston really likes the idea of Walker Kesler after trading Chris Sporzingis and Al Horford uh getting older so they might make a play for Walker Kesler period and then two Utah has reportedly been very aggressive in trying to acquire Jaylen Brown so Boston if Boston lands Walker Krestler if Boston ends up getting Walker I am going to lose my mind um I’d rather him go anywhere else just don’t go to Boston right if the Lakers don’t get him go anywhere else but Boston okay just do not go to the Celtics please but the Celtics are kind of like seem to be the one hurdle just based on like the consensus information that is available um ideally if you’re the Lakers can you get multiple players multiple pieces right john Collins uh Lakers have been linked to although there have been reports kind of conflicting right that like hey Lakers really want John Collins pushing hard for John Collins and then there was you know clarification that like hey it’s it’s kind of been a little overblown you know that that the Lakers aren’t heavily pursuing John Collins my guess is probably somewhere in the middle usually it’s how it works like one extreme the other extreme you know some people are like “Oh you know Lakers are willing to give up everything you know including stake in the Lakers just to go get John Collins.” And then the other side is like “Absolutely not you’d have to pay the Lakers to take on John Collins.” So usually it’s probably somewhere in the middle it’s right like so my guess is that the Lakers are probably interested in John Collins john Collins makes a ton of sense to the Lakers a sizable versatile athletic three and D Wayne right a guy that can literally slot in three through five for you uh in small ball units and all of that and still maintain some size guy that has the athleticism to be that lob threat i mean alongside Luca so you can go small and still have that outlet that Luca really likes so can you pull something off where you could get a John Collins and a Walker Kesser i don’t know if the Lakers could pull something like that off um it also just depends on what is what are the Boston Celtics truly willing to take right you know I see a lot of talks and you know there’s been conversations for the last couple years where it’s like you know Utah wants three firsts and all this other stuff for Walker Kesser and to be honest one I’ve said this a million times I don’t know why they want to trade Walker Ker for one and two they should want the farm but what teams want and what they end up getting are two very different things right alfa Simons is a great example of that the Portland Trailblazers were trying to get multiple firsts for Alferna Simons and he was just traded for Drew Holiday and Portland had to give up picks in order to trade Alfred Simons again things what teams want all the time and what teams actually get are two very different things right it also depends on what other teams on the market are willing to pay and offer and pony up um also again Utah’s going to have to pay him he’s going to be due a new contract you know he’s great right now because the Lakers are very limited on assets and players that they can send out and salary and all that stuff so if you can get a cheap center right then that would be very beneficial to be able to make other moves make other trades right even land a John Collins in the deal or whatever right you can make those moves and then now you kind of have your your another quality front court piece that could be a 3 and D guy and then your starting caliber center where if you go trade for Nick Claxton who’s 27 million you traded all your tradable salaries and you gave up whatever assets you had to give up where a guy like a Walker Kesler you know at least you could maybe get another guy rather than just one or not if you just get Walker Kesler right you could do Dalton connect for Walker Kesler throw in the 2031 first And another thing I’m not against the Lakers overpaying i’ve talked about this before if it makes sense right like the Mark Williams trade for example a lot of people were like “Oh man the Lakers are are overpaying for Mark Williams.” And it was like “Well yeah but you got to understand one teams know Lakers desperately need a center two he’s a young center who already is a 20 you know 20 and 10 guy and three it’s like he’s the guy that’s going to be your center for the next 8 to 10 years right like I wouldn’t want to overpay for Oh and then also circumstances matter right a Nick Clax i wouldn’t pay for overpay for Nick Claxton because you kind of know what he is right mark Williams is still plenty of growth plenty of upside plenty of potential walker Ker is another guy i mean he could be your center for the next 10 years and plenty of growth upside and potential but he’s also one of the best defensive centers in all of basketball particularly at the rim he does an excellent job of of defending without fouling all of that right so again like it just depends on the the circumstances and context and Walker Kesser is one of those guys so if Lakers have to give up Dalton Connect plus you know their 2031 first and like a pick swap basically what they were willing to give up for Mark Williams then fine do what you got to do do that right and then now go try to make plays for you know three and D guys and stuff like can you go get an Andrew Wiggins no one’s trading multiple first for Andrew Wiggins so can you maybe turn a pick swap you know like Ruie and Gabe Vincent and a pick swap for Andrew Wiggins right and then maybe you can go get a a Terrence man right can you maybe then go take whatever Maxi Cleba and Shake Milton and go get a a Terren man i think that’s close if not it might be a little off but you get the point right like can you go and make multiple moves for guys that you know teams just kind of want the assets it’s like hey you know we’re not going to really use a Terren man so let’s get off that or you know a team like Miami where they’re trying to supposedly preserve cap space to go sign Luca well guess what luca ain’t going anywhere so if I if I’m the Lakers I would go “Hey you know tell you what let us help you preserve that cap space for Luca here give us Andrew Wigs and we’ll give you the cap space uh you know free up the cap space so you can go after Luca and then go sign him to that extension and you know be like “Thanks for Andrew Wiggins.” That’d kind of be my my thoughts and hopes but just in general right like I I want the lake the Lakers obviously need a center if you have to do a gap year at the center position then you do a gap year at the center position but ideally I’d prefer like I don’t want the Lakers my my fear is the Lakers overpay for somebody that they shouldn’t again a Walker Kesler fine i’m okay with overpaying all day because again it it it’s it’s warranted you can justify it it makes sense talking about one of literally the second best defensive center in all of basketball behind Victor Wimyama last year and he was actually better than Wimi in several metrics so again you’re talking about elite not just good not just like oh man this guy’s you know pretty great no elite level defense from Walker Kessler plus the ability to be that finisher be that lob threat but also can can do create a little bit for himself has shown a little of the ability to stretch the floor and knock down the occasional three not something I’d really necessarily want him to do right now but he’s young enough to where you can work on that over the next few years maybe two or three years from now now that’s an expansion in his game it’s just again if you can justify it then do it to me I think Walker Kesler is the guy that you you go all in for he’s one of those that like again he is he has the size the skills the versatility the defense all the things you need you want to talk about having Austin Reeves and Luca as your as your back court right and how do you how do you make that work well a great start is getting the best defensive center in all of basketball that when Austin Ree and Luke are getting blown by every possession he’s a guy that can take care of that and clean it up right like that that’s what that’s a great start and then you go get another versatile 3 and D win and like an Andrew Wiggins or something like that now we’re cooking right now we’re cooking and because now you have you know an athletic versatile two-way win you got you know one of if not arguably the best defensive center in all of basketball and then you have LeBron James who has shown when he wants to lock in and engage on defense he can lock in and engage on defense over an 82 game regular season I don’t expect it too much but come playoff time when it’s like “Hey it’s time to lock down and engage can Austin Reeves just be serviceable can Luca Donic just be serviceable?” You know you got the you got the cleanup crew behind you and then LeBron James we’ve seen be able to lock down and be a defensive anchor and Andrew Wiggins can go and be a defensive anchor i’m just kind of using Andrew Wiggins as an example but can you do something like can you make something like that happen and get that done cuz if you can man like if you told me this offseason Lakers ended up trading for Walker Kesler and then like an Andrew Wiggins or something like that I beautiful chef kiss right good good on you Rob now go get a couple key free agents right can you can you hit on two or three key free agents can you go get a Clink Capella can you convince Clink Capella if you were to go get an Andrew Wiggins and a Walker Kesler could you now convince LeBron to take that said discount and be like “Hey buddy just to let you know it would be awesome if you did this because then we could go get that backup center in a Clink Capella and maybe go get another piece we can give Clink Capella 8 million and go get somebody on another five right because you can break it up right but you would need LeBron’s help to do that but again Lakers have to prove to LeBron like LeBron’s just not going to take a discount on the kindness of his heart you have to prove to LeBron but let me know your thoughts and opinions down in the comments that being said if you haven’t liked this video hit that like button helps me out you enjoy these types of videos truly appreciate it not subscribe channel hit that subscribe button turn on the bell notifications appreciate y’all see you in the next one thank

Lakers need a center and the best potiential center the Lakers can land is Walker Kessler from the Utah Jazz. Lakers Trade for Kessler could be getting close and Lakers Nation could have their franchise center around the corner. Lakers News leading into the 2025 NBA Draft could be massive.

  1. Iโ€™ve played these games before!!!!! lol Iโ€™m not getting my hopes up but ya Iโ€™m with you if foston gets Kessler im literally going to crash out but at this point Iโ€™m expecting it ๐Ÿ˜ญ

  2. I also think that ainge won't last that much longer in utah, he is doing the same to utah which got him fired in boston

  3. Lakers do not have enough to offer for Kessler. They would have to trade Reaves and use some of what they get from that package to add to what they already have to offer

  4. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿพ Iโ€™m sure itโ€™s the lakers not boston since they trading away good acquisitions from the Celtics . They must wanna be a lottery team next season

  5. I wouldnโ€™t want Kessler going anywhere in the west not Denver , not Minnesota, not the spurs , not the warriors or Houston

  6. Walker Kessler is a non-proven player… Do you remember 2 years ago when there was a rift between Kessler and the Jazz front office? He is playing on a very bad team. He has yet to prove anything on the court. Why overpay for him? The only thing that is appealing is his current contract. He still has to prove he is an impact player.
