well well well we’ve got another trade these are coming in at very opportunistic times actually I’m very appreciative that these aren’t happening in the middle of the night so I don’t have to kick my wife out of the bedroom we actually just got back from a walk about 2 minutes ago that’s why I’m a little bit flush in the face but anyway uh the Boston Celtics have traded Chris Staps Porzingis to the Atlanta Hawks we anticipated a Chris Staps Porzingis trade we knew it was going to happen that happened uh pretty quickly boston Atlanta and Brooklyn are finalizing a three-team trade that sends Porzingis in a second round pick to the Hawks Terrence Man and Atlanta’s number two number 22 pick to the Nets and George Nang in a second rounder to the Celtics oh boy let’s draw this one up immediately I’m thinking okay they saved quite a bit of money they didn’t get a ton of um player capital back but let’s let’s draw this puppy up immediately I’m thinking oh wow Hawks might have Hawks might have absolutely crushed this one um who was the other one brooklyn so let’s draw this up chris Porzingis on his way to Atlanta they needed another center they’ve never had a pick and pop center for Trey Young before i love this i love that already like and why not it’s a one-year deal like who the hell cares um I already love that who else got moved i need to I need to think this through shs what the hell happened terrence man and they got off Terrence man oh lord okay a second round pick to the Hawks we don’t know what the second round pick is let’s see we don’t know for sure uh Terrence man did he go to the Nets is that what they said um yeah in the number 22 overall pick yeah you do that every single time send that over to the Nets right here terrence man where the hell did you go you’re right here we didn’t want to pay your money anyway and you’re kind of just like uh like solid offensive player like defensively actually like not really that great um despite his kind of reputation so that’s fine we send him over here the Nets need to pay somebody this is what their job is is to take up all of the draft picks which this is getting a little bit concerning to me but we’ll talk about it and then what georgia Nang that was the other part of this georgees Nang and a second round pick so we don’t know exactly what those second round picks are but let’s um let’s show a little bit of money right here so and again like this hasn’t been updated because Drew Holiday is still here right so there’s a bigger part of this but just looking at this trade in and of itself the Celtics have gotten themselves out of capell right should we just mock out the rest of that trade with like uh Portland and everything so we can see like the exact ramifications of it that’s probably not the worst call in the world so what was it it was Drew Holiday for Anthony Simons and then there was obviously like um other things to go along with that so this is more of the complete picture of it so cool cool cool where does this put them and this gets them out of the second apron almost out of the first apron so if you move Sam Hower now which I would anticipate them trying to do they could get there they could totally totally get there but okay let’s think all of this through this trade just in and of itself uh you got back Georgia Niang in a second round pick you sent out a second round pick in it so kind of redundancy there you traded Porzingis for Niang ah like that sucks niang’s at least a useful player in a position of need for you at kind of the power forward you’ll shoot the ball well he’s going to be a tough-minded guy so cool is is what it is it sucks to lose Porzingis for this but like you’re like your leverage for this just isn’t very high because everyone knows you can’t take back much money you don’t want to take back much money either and believe it or not good basketball players don’t normally make a lot of money so I don’t want to see any of you in the comments like ABC the Celtics got absolutely fleeced oh you’re so dumb why can’t you do math um but no like that’s what they had to do so that’s what they had to do the Hawks holy cow so what so what what did the Hawks get all of this um and Atlanta’s number 22 overall pick here so they got off of Terrence Man they just got Porzingis in the second round pick wow that’s that’s great you got off of Terrence Man and you lost the you basically just paid the 22nd pick in George Nyang which again you didn’t need Nyang either so this is great you do this every single time if you’re Atlanta i love this i love the idea of um having a pick and pop center to go along with uh uh Trey Young you can move a Kong Woo back to the bench try him out like do whatever so you kind of have two different types of centers now which is cool the Hawks the Hawks will be a player like um this next year and they’ve still got their other pick um at pick 13 so you can add another like solid role player rotational player with that pick hawks Hawks might be a little bit tough next year if they can stay healthy if Johnson comes back um I’d like to think Reese Sha will continue to kind of develop right probably still need some backup point guard help but overall this is this is great and if you’re the Brooklyn Nets um man who cares right like you have a competent basketball player on the team that’s great what are we doing here like there has to be some more going on there’s no way you’re drafting six people if you’re drafting six people I have a lot of concerns um going into this season for the Brooklyn Nets then like cuz here’s here’s the thing right take it from someone that’s done some coaching before who did player development and stuff the most rookies you want on a team is like three anything like that’s that’s a tall task for coaches is to have three rookies on a team anything more than that just spells trouble in terms of like development like people practicing bad habits coaches being overwhelmed it’s it’s just very difficult so I I can’t imagine they’re going to use all of these i have to imagine these are going to get packaged up into like something else trying to move up in the draft something some way um I don’t know i could see something now where they move with Philly and Philly gets like a bunch of picks out of this that could be kind of interesting now but just reacting to this in and of itself I’m uh I’m curious i’m very very curious as to what Brooklyn’s going to do with this cuz I I would not try to do this i’m not taking six wings at the plate i’ll take a lot of them but no um so yeah shout out the Celtics they got out from within the second apron i can’t imagine they’re done yet like I said I wouldn’t be surprised if they traded like Xavier Tillman or something just cuz they don’t or his is like non-G guaranteed isn’t he let me let me check that uh what is his contract um oh I need to click on something else to actually uh see that is his contract non-G guaranteed no it is guaranteed but it’s above a minimum um by just like a little bit I believe so I think that is at least so maybe he gets moved but I would have to imagine Sam Hower gets moved he’s not a necessity uh and it can get you below potentially the tax if you don’t take anything else back and somebody would like Sam Hower so you could probably get a little something for it because now you don’t have to do the whole leverage thing of like well no like you guys have to get out from the second apron or whatever right i mean people still know you want to get from out from under the tax and I guess they can just assume that if you’re calling them about it but I don’t I don’t mind this like I don’t mind this for Boston you got a useful player back it sucks that you lost that much talent in it but hopefully George Niang is at least available to play most of the time and we hope Porzingis is healthy obviously that’s the big overarching implication of all this but look if it doesn’t work out it’s a one-year contract anyway you’re not even a tax team so who the hell cares right it just it just doesn’t matter um but no I love this for Atlanta i think this is awesome two players you didn’t need the 22nd overall pick which who knows what the hell that’ll be right it could be great but most likely not um and you got Porzingis to at least try to be competitive with this group i’m here for it man i really am good job Atlanta like claps up for you guys and um yeah Brooklyn what what are you doing what exactly are you up to cuz I can’t imagine
