so could the Utah Jazz be trading away John Collins to the Los Angeles Lakers this 2025 NBA offseason well here on the screen is a tweet on X from NBA Central which says “The Los Angeles Lakers and Utah Jazz have discussed a trade centered around Hatchima and John Collins per Anthony Irwin LA.” Quote “Many within the Lakers organization believe John Collins would be an especially great fit alongside Luca Donuch since their season ended they’ve held a few conversations with the Utah Jazz to try to land the 27-year-old big man with Ruie Hatchima often the centerpiece of the deal so my immediate takeaway is that this could actually be a pretty reasonable basketball trade for both sides now the Los Angeles Lakers want to add some size to their team uh specifically in the form of a starting center so this of course would not be that this would be more or less addition by subtraction by letting Ruie walk and having um you know obviously John Collins come back and return but John Collins is a really solid player who had himself a pretty tremendous year this past year with the Utah Jazz so John Collins with the Utah Jazz this past year just the 40 games played at 19 points per game 8.2 rebounds two assists uh he shot 52.7% from the field almost 40% from beyond the arc which is pretty solid 85% from the free throw line and just overall had a really solid season so for someone who’s just 27 years old um I think adding John Collins to the mix he’s 6 foot nine he’s very athletic as well this is a great move for them like he’s a player that could definitely be on the trademark this off season and if you’re the Los Angeles Lakers and want to add more star power to the group this could be a step in the right direction now from the Jazz’s perspective Rui Hachimura not quite the offensive player that John Collins is but a player that is still really solid he’s also 27 years old uh 59 games played last year 13 points five rebounds 1.4 assists uh he shot 50 4177 and just overall had a pretty solid year as well so could there be a basketball trade between these two teams happening it very well could happen i guess we’ll keep an eye on that this off seasonason the Lakers may be wanting to acquire someone like Walker Kler as well so we’ll keep an eye on that potentially happening what do you guys think a John Collins Los Angeles Ler actually looks like leave all your thoughts down below thanks again for watching and I’ll see you in the next one
