so could the Boston Celtics be trading away Derek White to the Los Angeles Lakers this 2025 NBA off season well here on the screen is a trade proposal or a trade idea from fadeawayorld.net The link to this article is down below in case you want to go ahead and check it out for yourself but this trade would see the Los Angeles Lakers receiving Derek White and the Boston Celtics receiving Ruie Hatchimura Dalton Connect and a 2031 first round draft pick So this of course comes with the news yesterday of Drew Holiday getting traded in a blockbuster deal uh to the Portland Trailblazers for Anthony Simon So a bit of a different look a bit of a caps-aving move as well uh for the Celtics And this trade would be doing the exact same thing Now it has been reported that the Celtics are taking calls on a lot of their star players you know Derek White Jaylen Brown of course would fetch back quite a bit on the trade market but they want to get rid of Porzingis in a perfect world which obviously won’t fetch you back the best return because of his costly and expensive contract So I’m a little curious to see where the Celtics will go this off season Could they be done i don’t think they are Uh could they be trading Derrick White or Jaylen Brown potentially Now if they are getting rid of Derrick White who’s one of the best perimeter defenders in basketball a very valuable player to the Celtics team I don’t think this trade makes the most sense Like financially speaking yes you can make the argument that acquiring Dalton Connect on a rookie contract that 2031 first round draft pick does have quite a bit of value as well and really uh being the age that he is and just the player that he is not making a ton of money either This trade makes sense from a financial perspective and it does make the team a little bit deeper at the end of the day But if you’re the Los Angeles Lakers and you’re acquiring Derrick White like this guy has what it takes to make this team you know a top three or four team in the West next year and possibly even a championship team come playoff time like Derek White’s the kind of player you want on your team in crunch time He can defend against you know guards like Shay um Anthony Edwards etc He’d be a tremendous fit next to Luca Donuch and kind of mask those defensive you know deficiencies that Luca Donuch has in his game while still providing some pretty good offense and not needing to have the ball constantly So I think without a doubt I think the winner of this deal would be the Los Angeles Lakers And as always leave your thoughts
