TRADE INCOMING! Knicks Discussing MASSIVE MOVE Involving Bridges & Robinson | Knicks News

this is massive according to the latest reports the Knicks are currently discussing possible trades involving Mitchell Robinson and Muel Bridges we’re going to break down all of these latest reports trade for weeks reports have come out indicating that the Knicks are preparing to make a massive trade either for a star or a superstar player the off season just began and the Knicks are not wasting any time recent reports indicate that the Knicks right now are discussing possible trades involving Mitchell Robinson and Mikuel Bridges let’s break down these following reports shout out to NBA insiders Steph Bondi and Frank Isola for giving us this following information bondi reported earlier today that Mikuel Bridges is now eligible to sign an extension the max he can sign for is 4 years 156 million after this report came out Frank Isola gave us the following update on top of this report according to him one of the reasons Mikuel Bridg’s name has surfaced in trade discussions is because he’s up for this extension according to several team executives Mitchell Robinson is another player being discussed as well now it would be one thing if only Frank Isola was the one reporting on this but he’s not we have another NBA insider confirming that potentially Mikuel Bridges could be moved this off season and this is coming from our own Essen Wise Ian Begley let’s go ahead and break down exactly what he had to say about Mikuel Bridges his contract extension and potentially the Knicks trading him this off season shout out to Nick’s videos on the app X for giving us this following information here according to them Mikuel Bridges is eligible to sign an extension with the Knicks up to four years and 156 million will he get extended according to Ian Begley the one thing this front office has shown if they don’t want to extend you they’re not going to let you get the free agency and walk they’re going to find a way to get what they can get for you they did that with Emanuel Quickley Julius Randall and Obie Topphen i’ve felt all along that maybe that was going to be the case with Mikuel Bridges this summer the price they paid for him i’m a believer in that sunk cost theory of economics don’t worry about what you paid for him if he’s not part of your future make the move and get what you can mikuel Bridges is likely listed here because of his contract extension coming up soon but it also shows you a willingness from the Knicks to want to trade him to another team but we also have to remember Muel Bridges is best friends with Josh Hart and Jaylen Brunson two key players on this team that’s likely going to return next season and if Jaylen Brunson has any say in the matter I’m sure he wants Mikuel Bridges to return to this team but as Ian Vaguely said if the Knicks cannot reach a final agreement on this extension with Muel Bridges it’s likely he could be traded to another team and at least according to recent reports Mikuel Bridg’s name has already come up in trade discussions that means the Knicks have no problem trading him if the right trade offer is on the table but there was another name that was mentioned as well too and that was Mitchell Robinson and the funny part about Robinson is when you think about potentially trading him a year ago everybody would have been on board with that with trading Mitchell Robinson but after what we saw him do during the postseason the impact he had for the Knicks how he helped the Knicks win certain series like the Boston Celtics series I didn’t think the Knicks would want to trade him this off season but given his contract his injury history it’s likely that other teams might be asking for Mitchell Robinson in any deal the Knicks are trying to do right now so let’s say the Knicks are trying to move off of Mikuel Bridges maybe the player they’re going after requires a little bit more salary to match and if that’s the case Mitchell Robinson will come in handy there and maybe that team is asking for Mitchell Robinson because of what he did during the postseason his run during the postseason has increased his trade value and maybe now the Knicks are looking to cash in on that but honestly it doesn’t look like the Knicks want to trade Mitchell Robinson if Mitchell Robinson is being discussed in trade reports right now it’s likely because other teams are asking for the Knicks to include Mitchell Robinson and the main reason I’m saying this is because Ian Begley recently reported that the Knicks and Mitchell Robinson have a very good relationship and after Ian Begley checked almost a week ago it sounded like the Knicks wanted to retain Mitchell Robinson not trade him let’s break down these latest reports that we have here from SNY’s Ian Begley shout out to Nick’s videos on the app X for giving us this following information ian Begley said the following on Mitchell Robinson’s future in New York according to him the interesting thing I had heard not on the Nick’s side but on the players side was that the expectation was that they were going to be here this was their read on the situation maybe a week ago things are fluid but I did find that interesting the thought around Mitchell Robinson was that we’re here we’re not going anywhere that to me tells you a little bit about what the Knicks are thinking regarding Mitchell Robinson and his future with this team so clearly from what Ian Begley is hearing and what he’s reporting it doesn’t sound like New York wants to trade Mitchell Robinson they want to keep him as part of this team after his impact during the postseason I can’t blame them however he needs to get paid he’s only getting older and he has a very tragic injury history so if you’re going to bring him back you have to understand all of this and think to yourself is it worth the risk should you do this or potentially should you trade him and trade Mikuel Bridges get another impactful player on this team and then elevate one of the rookies to take Mitchell Robinson’s spot and the only person I’m thinking about in my mind who could potentially do that is Ariel Huckport but he’s still a ways away he still needs to understand the NBA level and all of his facets and he really doesn’t have an understanding to that level yet but the more he develops the more he plays he will turn into a very good player for this Knicks team but I don’t know if he’s ready to do that in just year two we’re going to have to wait and see what the Knicks decide to do and obviously see his development when it comes to the summer league but I absolutely believe that right now the Knicks are discussing possible trades involving Mikuel Bridges and Mitchell Robinson because that trade package will get you a star maybe even a superstar if you sweeten the deal add a couple of other players and some picks to that deal as well too but you might be asking the Knicks are looking to move Mikuel Bridges Mitchell Robinson maybe a couple of other assets as well too who are they targeting what player are they trying to go after in my heart the player I want them to be going after is Giannis that’s what my heart is telling me but my brain the logical part of my body it’s telling me that the Knicks are potentially looking to acquire Jiren Jackson Jr because Mikuel Bridges Mitchell Robinson their salaries what the Grizzlies would likely want back in return for a player like Jiren Jackson Jr it actually does make sense you get a very good wing a solid defender in Mikuel Bridges and you get another big to replace Triple J you get Mitchell Robinson yes injury concerns are there but when healthy he is one of the best offensive rebounders in the game today and if the Knicks are able to get Triple J on this team having a front court of Carl Anthony Towns Jiren Jackson Jr you keep OG Anobi you have Jaylen Brunson you keep most of this team together and you’re adding a force like Triple J that trade could definitely happen now the Memphis Grizzlies have openly stated that they want to extend Jiren Jackson Jr they’re not looking to trade him but were they trying to trade Desmond Bane i don’t know but the right trade offer came across the table and they made that move and I think the exact same scenario is available for Jiren Jackson Jr it’s only going to take the Knicks to make the right offer and right now we already know Mikuel Bridges is on the table mitchell Robinson is on the table some of our draft assets are on the table as well too what does that type of trade package net you in terms of a player is it enough to get you a star player a superstar player maybe a player that’s in between the two star but not superstar but if given the right opportunity he could blossom into a superstar i think these are the players the Knicks are looking to go after and if the package is Mikuel Bridges Mitchell Robinson and all of these draft assets then I think the Knicks are preparing to make a massive trade happen and this year we got all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals if next year’s Knicks team is going to be better than this year then that means that team could go all the way to the NBA Finals where we belong where we deserve to be and once we get there we finally have a chance to win break the drought of 50 plus years and bring a championship home to New York City a place that is desperate for a chip and if we do that if we’re able to break the curse and bring a championship home the parade we’re going to see in New York will be unlike anything we’ve ever seen in NBA history i
