This is WAY BETTER Than we Thought…

this is way better than we thought as the Toronto Raptors selected Colin Murray Boils with the number nine overall selection despite common Malawatch still being on the board as once again Messiah Jury shocked everyone with his draft selection but this pick is way better than people initially thought when it went down because I was live out there on this video people were concerned people were surprised and especially coupled with his initial reaction to getting selected by the Toronto Raptors that initially came off as “Oh he doesn’t want to be here.” There were a lot of fans that were concerned about “Oh no did we make a mistake for this pick despite tanking for another full season did we make a mistake with one of the more crucial picks in Toronto Raptors history?” That doesn’t seem to be the case as watching this man’s highlights hearing this man speak about joining the Toronto Raptors there is a lot to get very very excited about and there are some things in his game which frankly I’m not going to of course declare him a steel by any stretch of the imagination here now at this point but there are signs of this being a really just another masterclass by Messiah Jerry not going to label it that just yet till we see him in summerly till we see him out there in the Toronto Raptors uniform and all that stuff but there are things to get excited about for Colin Murray Bole so we’re going to dive into all of that in this video but folks I want to thank each and every single one of you today because this afternoon this morning we were lower but you know we’re at this mark we hit the 38,000 subscriber mark here now at this point so you know made a big jump today i appreciate everyone that’s been tuning into the channel for all of these years and you know we’re hitting milestones on big nights of the Toronto Raptors so appreciate everyone getting us to this 38,000 subscriber mark of course the next big metric is that big 40,000 so if you haven’t tuned hit the subscribe button just yet and you want to stay up to date with everything with this team make sure you guys hit that sub button but let’s dive into the news because of course the Raptors ended up drafting Colin Murray Boils who is a guy that again we’ll take a look we’ll dive through everything in terms of how Raptor fans are feeling and why this is a lot better than people were expecting because Murray Boils is a guy that plays the power forward and center position at just 67 you know 6’8 he’s listed different things wherever you look so you know take it uh you know 67 between 67 and 6’8 so he has a 7 foot wingspan and he’s 20 years old so not old for a draft prospect by any means but a little bit older than some of these guys that are out there in the league you know from the United States and was projected to go a little bit after where the Raptors were selecting and you take a look at his stats and this is where a lot of the concerns were picked up with this initial selection is specifically his jump shooting because you have a 67 player the player’s the forward spot you want him to be a knockdown shooter it’s a modern NBA you need to be able to shoot to stay out there on the court and he shoots just 27% from the three-point line and had a viral video going around with him just selling threes over and over again in one of those draft combines so that wrote a lot of people off as a fit for the Toronto Raptors just given his poor shooting and given it being the modern NBA and I’m not blaming people on the surface level i’m one of those people at the surface level that just didn’t expect him to be the Raptor selection number nine especially if a guy like Common Malawatch was still available who of course is the the 7 foot center that we’ve been uh you know discussing for months on end but what has made people kind of change on this because another thing coupled with this is on his initial draft reaction he let out a he let out a little cuss he let out a little frustration his girlfriend was like “Oh my god are you okay?” or something you know it was watching the video in context in the wrong setting you know it looked like “Hey he doesn’t want to be in Toronto.” But that doesn’t given his interviews given his comments and honestly just given the context when he when he broke it down that couldn’t be further from the truth let’s dive into those comments basically at first cuz as Josh Loomer put it uh the cameras caught Colin Mary Bole dropping an F-bomb when he was drafted he clarifies it was just disbelief toronto is the first team that I worked out for what I said is not a bad thing i’m just very thankful that was a surreal moment this organization has a good history so you know and he made more comments on the Toronto Raptor thing i’m super excited i know how passionate the fans are how diverse the city is to see that and be around that environment on a daily basis is something I’m going to make a better it’s going to make me a better player the that environment is amazing the city is great so CMBB is a guy that’s you know very much as someone that seems excited to be joining the Toronto Raptors comments about you know being on this team being on this squad doesn’t isn’t indicative of some guy that was frustrated and genuinely I wouldn’t be shocked if he had no idea he was getting drafted the Toronto Raptors because frankly no one had an idea it was all Noah SN and it was all common mal watch that’s what everyone was expecting the Toronto Raptors to do here now at this point with the number nine overall pick so CMBB is probably just coming out there like whoa this whoa you know dropping the left bomb i’m going to Toronto that’s crazy you know what I mean so you know that’s the context in terms of the video that’s going around so I get why people are frustrated initially and why that might rub the wrong people the wrong way initially but given this it’s uh you know a sign like I I’m not taking that any bit seriously given how he came off in the interviews and seemed very genuine out there on that front so that’s the first thing so that’s better than we thought in terms of that initial reaction but who is he as an actual basketball player because of course that’s the most important thing going on right now when you have the number nine overall pick so essentially he said in addition to his defensive mindset he takes pride in his high IQ and adaptability obviously everybody talks about the shot and that’s something I’ve been fine-tuning i’m just trying to get to the point where I it’s consistent i’m confident with it right now so he’s been improving his jump shot he came out and said that uh you know he started his draft process two week earlier than most and working on his shooting mechanics it’s been a challenge not in a bad way but that’s the main thing every day getting shots up trying to focus on my form i feel that type of comfort and uh that’s what I’ve been wanting so he has been very adamant about improving his jump shot because that’s the biggest concern with him right now you know shooting 26% from the three-point line that is genuinely concerning that’s something that needs to be improved if he’s going to be getting consistent run out there in the NBA so you know he wants to be on the court especially a darker Rayakovich system spacing around playing alongside a guy like Scotty Barnes RJ Barrett and whoever the heck is on this team you know Yaka Purle of course is going to be the center spot there’s not a ton of shooting on this Raptor squad so you need guys that going to be able to come in and have that three-point shot on online so you know Scotty Barnes can slash so RJ Bear can slash so I can slash or whoever the heck is on this team branding has space to operate so that’s nice to hear that he’s working on that jump shot it’s something that is coming together a little bit and he said “I’ve been a role player i’ve been a guy that comes off the bench i’ve been uh I’ve been the guy so I’ve done it all whatever the coach needs me to do just find my role early and help the team win.” So I love that attitude you know because the Raptors do have a lot of guys at his position and that was my initial you know in terms of the shock in terms of everything that was going on with uh you know him as a basketball player and all of that type of stuff right the one concern right it’s like what are we doing if we have this pick if we have this selection and we take a guy you know in CMBB that is a player that plays the same position as you know what we’ve had going for this Raptor squad for the last little while of course you know we have Scotty Burns we have Brandon Ingram that played the same position oaji is a very similar basketball player you have Jonathan Bobo who’s been developing who’s been coming to his own and everything like that so does the fit make a ton of sense right now that shouldn’t matter for the Toronto Raptors we were the 12 seed whatever the heck we were last season we weren’t good last year now we expected to be good for this upcoming season all that but we haven’t proven that just yet so with your last ideally ideally last lottery pick for a very long time as we make trades and stuff but being bad enough to have your own pick in the lottery you take the best player available and then you figure it out for the future we’ve seen all the rumors with all the news with all the buzz this team is uh flexible they’re flexible in terms of what they can get going for this team so getting a CMBB in terms of being a piece coming in if we think he’s the best guy has the most upside which defensively if you watch this man’s highlights if you Google you know just see Colin Murray Bole’s defensive highlights highlights out there he is an absolute monster on the defensive end and he has a really good feel on the offensive end too in terms of his ability to pass facilitate at that mid spot i mean Draymond Green is a big comparison he’s getting thrown out too of course we have Mo but you know that’s three guys Scotty Barnes Jonathan Mo and CNB now at this point that are very high IQ basketball players and you can’t have enough of those guys on your roster so this selection is a lot better than we thought i’m not declaring a steal just yet because of the number nine overall selection you got to be able to hit stuff there but I I’m seeing some flash especially if the jump shot comes together then this is a whole different story for this guy as a basketball player he’s a complete player you know if that three-point shot comes into its own but overall good selection by Messiah Jerry will pan out we’ll find out over the next few years I’d imagine but anyways you guys best make this far subscribe to the channel if you guys haven’t already anyways I’m signing out cheers thanks for 38K love you all

The Toronto Raptors selected Collin Murray-Boyles with the 9th overall pick. While the initial reaction many Raptors fans were concerned with the pick, Ben Rogers breaks down why this is way better than we thought.

  1. ABOUT CMB – think Draymond, Artest, Rodman type.
Led his team in college at everything, he was the only talent and carried the team on his back, so he's coming with leadership skills (can you find that in your stat sheet?). He SHOT SIXTY% from the field, 17.5 feet or lower he can hit shots. To think that 3pt shooting is the be all and end all is why you are all BIG DUMMEE'S – there was nobody there to set him up for open 3's, all his shots were heavily guarded, mostly double teamed – Maluach can't hit any shot outside of a lob and you all have his ballz dangling from your chinz. CMB can guard ANY POSITION, ANY! He is athletic, jumps out of the gym, plays with more heart than Shead and is tough nosed – try and stop him. Together on the court with the 2nd unit with Mogbo, Jak and two outside shooters they going to be crazier than Indy's bench.

  2. He was clearly disappointed to be drafted here and anticipated being selected by another team, perhaps one close to home and family. You don’t need to be a body language expert to observe the very telling reaction.
Of course he’s going to give the professional PR answer now (as he’s expected to) when literally everyone noticed. Most fans are really gullible when they believe everything another says when there’s a camera in front of them. I’m a casual watcher so let’s see if he pans out and the raptors are even worth watching.

  3. So pretty much he got caught with his true feelings on getting drafted to Toronto then did media cleanup and y’all are just eating it up🤦‍♂️

  4. I think what we all have to remember these are prospects, many of them have deficiencies and specialties to their game. You look at the play and say can I improve their deficiencies . For Murray Boyles it is shoot and the Raptors are good at helping players with this aspect of their game.

Murray Boyles was picked for defense which he is amazing, he has Dennis Rodman like traits. Imagine the Raptors taking Denis Rodman and teaching him to shoot. I watched a few video on this guy his defense and motor are elite, but he is a few years away from seeing watch he is. If the Raptors can make him just the average shooter in the NBA he could play in a allstar game at some point of his career.

  5. Fans need to grow up. Teams picks the players, not the players picking the team. Cooper Flagg didn't look head over heels about being on Dallas. Ace Bailey didn't want to be on Philly, and Jazz said ef it, he is theirs! Bailey was trying to get New Orleans, and it didn't happen. CMB thought he would be higher, newsflash. You're a Raptor now! Still a top ten pick, live with it as your NBA dream came true! Raptors picked you, which means they value the way you play over shooting, being a center, and being a point guard! You got to be some kind of special to overcome those hurdles.

  6. I always like your enthusiasm , however last night watching you flip out over the pick, my first thought was… this guy should stay far away from alcohol …

  7. Nahhh he will go down as the biggest steal of the draft. Hes very young yet carries himself with the confidence of someone much older. Great energy and great skills. I can see a player that really brings seriousness and confidence back to the Raptors and not someone out here just trying to be "super friends " with all the other NBA players. This kid is gonna take it to people and i cant wait to see it.

The reaon im glad we took him instead of maluach is that he had to shine on a team by himself and he alone was responsible for the team being alot better then it was meant to be. Maluach on the other hand got to shine on a team where he was the 3rd or 4th option to a defense scouting report. Its alot easier to look great when your not gaurded by any of the other teams best players. CMB had to deal with doubles most of every game while still being the best defender on the court.

  8. I keep seeing eveyone talking about how the raps needed to draft a Center for the future of the team….. These are all the same people that spoke non-stop for the last 2 years about how Chomche is the center of the future….

  9. We needed a quality young big who will be there for years and he was on the board – it was a basic 101 move. Bill Simmons described it perfectly – "the dumb teams arrived in the parking lot of the draft at #8" Brooklyn first n then Toronto. Masai & Bobby are too full of themselves looking past the obvious trying to inflate their reputation by trying to "surprise" basketball minds and pick the possible next best thing. Lame. Have lost patience with this Braintrust. Stop hyping up the pick – you didn't even know who he was. Maluach was a solid pick. Masai is too in love with vision 6'9". It didn't work. Nothing bad to say about CMB – kid is good. Raptors are stuck in purgatory.

  10. To those who think CMB don't want to play for the Raptors, while you might interpret him shaking his head as disappointment of being drafted by the Raptors, and the subsequent communication is just media cleanup. I would like to point out an additional fact: CMB and Queen are the only 2 players Raptors interviewed during the NBA combine. Therefore, CMB would have to have known that Raptor is potentially interested in drafting him, and his willingness to play for the Raptors is most likely something they have discussed during that interview. While you might not agree with the pick, as teams can have successful and disastrous picks, the Raptor organization would have to be super incompetent if they are unable to realize the player is not happy to play for the team and waste a pick on him.

  11. If its true that Maluach declined a workout with the Raptors then I don't blame the Raptors for passing on him.

  12. All defence potential and does everything but shot, imagine if we can turn him into a decent shooter it was a good pick

  13. Nonsense. Another ridiculously redundant pick. Another 3/4 guy who cant shoot. Passing on Maluach when we need a big was pathetic. Stop drinking the koolaid. Fire masai.

  14. We can find players like boyles in every draft, what you cant find is the best center available in every draft. Im so mad we didint grab a back up center that can potentially blossom into a star center in future. Watch in 5 years will see all the peo0le we passed up on to take boyles like always 😂

  15. Starting 5 this year:
    IQ,Ingram,RJ,Scottie,Poeltl
    Bench:
    Shead,Jakobe,Gradey,CMB,Mobo

You can switch out any of these reserves for Ochai,Boucher,Battle n Ulrich.
I’m sure Masai will a couple small moves before the start of the season but we’re already a playoff team if u ask me.

  16. Every draft its the same thing, The mocks come out. The Raptors Digest decides that they desperately want and need whomever is slotted at the Raptors spot. Then Masai goes a different way. Then disappointment, shock and dismay. Then grudging acceptance. Then complete reversal and utter and extreme happiness.

  17. You are such a homer – can't believe you actually defend this pick – you just make me ill……this is a HORRIBLE draft pick, especially when you leave a 7'2" centre with a GREAT attitude on the board………this is DISSIPOINTING and you have your head straight up your a**!!!!!!!!!!!!

  18. Ben, you must be paid by Raptors management to pound the table how brilliant the President and GM are . A six foot, seven inch forward is not a power forward or centre in the NBA regardless of what you told to say. Raptors have a so many small forwards and guards but only one NBA centre. A horrible pick.

  19. We literally passed on a big, and have 6-8 guys on the roster already at this size. Whats the plan for this team? We have a full team of 6’7 players that can kind of play all positions and we dont win at any of them. Raptors fans so desperate for everything Masai does to be masterclass. That ship sailed years ago.

Need a shift in how we approach building our team in Toronto. We’re idling.

  20. Great. Another defensive guy who cant shoot. This is a strategy that has worked so well for us the last 6 years. 5:23
