so could the Los Angeles Lakers be trading away Austin Reeves to the Dallas Mavericks this 2025 NBA offseason Well here on the screen is a trade proposal or a trade idea from fadeawayworld.net the link to this article is down below in case you want to go ahead and check it out for yourself but this trade would see the Dallas Mavericks receiving Austin Reeves and Shake Milton and the Los Angeles Lakers receiving Derek Lively and PJ Washington so this trade’s pretty intriguing because both teams kind of get a positional need for them there uh but also is a basketball trade with no with no draft picks being involved whatsoever now is there a world where uh Rob Pelinka and Nico Harrison make another deal after the outcry um from the Luca Donic trade I would say probably not probably not for Nico Harrison’s sake just avoid this team at all cost no matter what but hypothetically speaking if this did occur it’s actually not a terrible move for both sides now from the Mavericks perspective uh they’re getting Austin Reeves who’s a good young guard uh the Mavericks also point towards them wanting to acquire a good guard in the meantime while Kyrie Irving’s recovering from his injury and Austin Reeves could definitely be that guy at a relatively high level so offensively speaking a pretty good addition there from the Lakers perspective they’re getting back a really solid player that kind of fits the bill as the team starting fiveman uh for the foreseeable future in Derek Lively so could I see a world where just you know one for one happens with Austin Reeves and Dererick Lively potentially But to make them one uh to make the money work etc uh that’s why Shake Milton and PJ Washington are involved but as I mentioned before it’s probably Nico Harrison’s best interest to not call Rob Plinka up for whatever reason but if this did occur I actually do like it for both teams i think from a positional standpoint it probably fits the Lakers a little bit better but when Kyrie comes back from his injury having a team next year of Kyrie Irving Austin Reeves Klay Thompson etc in regards to their back court that’s some really good depth and good offensive you know star power if you ask me so if I had to pick a winner of this deal I’m going to probably go with the Los Angeles Lakers because they are getting back uh the starting center that they’re looking for uh but if you’re the Maverick still a pretty solid trade but as always leave your thoughts
