[Music] with the 25th pick in the 2025 NBA draft the Orlando Magic select Jace Richardson from Michigan State University i have Jace really high he’s 11th on my board this is not a good fit with the Magic like it’s just not a You have a lot of guards already like he can shoot like we just talked about shooting right but why not get the guy who like you have a lot of guards so why not get the guy that is a power forward and can defend at a really high level maybe it’s a maybe it’s an opposites type thing right you have Jaylen Suggs who defends the hell out the ball but isn’t like obviously high level offensive player now you have Jayce Richardson who can come off the bench and that this is what we talked about though with Jace this is This is what I wanted and And no matter what team he went to I think at this point he’d probably be this but he’s long-term going to be an offthe-bench score like in my opinion and that’s what I had him as at the Magic in two for the next three years that’s what he’s going to be and so yeah maybe maybe it makes sense in that regard in terms of you add shooting and but but the problem is you drafted like Jed Howard who couldn’t defend or do anything else now you have Jace Richardson and I don’t and I don’t well I don’t think small I don’t think that’s fair i think Jace Richardson can defend for his size i think size is the problem here i don’t but I don’t think he’s like a bad defender at 6’2 like Yeah so um like he has good hands cuz I think he can defend the point of the attack pretty good but I mean to your point he’s not going to defend any wings he’s not like he’s not doing any of that um and then also too when you think about how he’s going to fit offensively it’s just like yes he’s going to be a really good offball shooter but again when you have those offensive lineups out there he’s still only 61 and 6’2 i would have much rather preferred that he goes to a team that doesn’t have a small guard so then you don’t have lineup problems like you already have Jaylen Suggs so then they can’t be on the court together well no jaylen Suggs I mean Jayen Suggs is a great defender no he’s I’m not saying he’s not but it just caus what I’m saying is you know it causes problems when you have smaller guys all I mean no no no jaylen Suggs is Jayen Suggs is 6’5 is he 6’5 yeah Jaylen S5 so I think that’s fine some reason in my head I imagine him so much shorter well he’s I Okay the more I’ve talked myself into it okay I don’t hate it i think off the bench he can off the bench he can do enough on a good team look my comps for him are Bren Forbes and Deuce McBride and Deuce McBride similar thing on a Knicks team uh came off the bench shot a lot of threes played uh played his role i mean dude that’s why I look was there a team that he could have gone to that you been like “Yeah this justifies my 11th pick.” Cuz you were higher on it no I’m really I mean I’m not saying I’m not high on him i just again I don’t like the fit um I mean I think I just just in a place where there’s less at stake I guess like the Magic like they’re wanting to win now whereas I think if you throw Jayce on a team that is uh looking looking to try to win I think it gives him an opportunity to try things out whereas on the Magic you know if it doesn’t work out you kind of get buried um Yeah so that that’s what I mean like I like I said have an 11th like the net yeah the Nets would have been perfect uh the Jazz I feel like would have been a good spot um cuz he does like the ball in his hands as well like he’s also a guy who can create for others and uh when he does get to the rim is is efficient uh like you said he’s a competitive defender is what I’ve written down um I’m just curious as to like how high his ceiling can go like he’s not an isolation player the off the dribble juice is not there he was 10 of 34 from threes off the dribble um yeah he he’s going to have to be like that off the bench shooter type which is fine yeah i mean I have my ceiling is starting two guard like normal starter or six-man type player and I think he could do that for a long time in the right situation so
