The Raptors select Collin Murray-Boyles with the 9th overall pick | 2025 NBA Draft

that playing hard is really a skill all right the Raptors pick is in let’s send it back to the podium [Applause] with the ninth pick in the 2025 NBA draft the Toronto Raptors select Colin Murray Boils from the University of South Carolina [Applause] colin Murray Boils sharing this moment with his mom Ivonne his dad Shawn his brother James who was a standout at UNC Pemrook and plays overseas now and of course a hug now with Khloe Kits his girlfriend and South Carolina star forward in her own right and one thing I love this Andrea I love this about this family so mom’s an attorney right and she’s persuasive dad is a contractor so during the pandemic at his wife’s request Sean built Colin a gym to practice it they needed to make one and so they did and the analytics models they loved this young man but one thing NBA scouts noted the need to kind of continue to grow as a shooter what did you see on that front Jack well he didn’t shoot the ball well he’s not a three-point shooter he gets most of his points in the paint and he was second in the Southeastern Conference in paint scoring at over 11 points per game but he was the only SEC player to have 40 blocks over 40 blocks and over 40 steals this season it shoots about 67 70% at the rim he’s just he’s just over 30% on jump shots that’s an area where he needs to improve but a versatile longarmmed defender that’s really the lead story with Colin Murray Boils uh he he’s an outstanding defender with incredible awareness and alertness and he’s just relentless defensively he he plays really hard and he’s good in the post good around the rim we talked about his finishing he’s 67% he averaged over eight rebounds a game good offensive rebounder two and a half a game but defensively is where he sets himself apart he can move his feet we talked about him playing hard you know he played on a team this season South Carolina they really struggled to win games in the South Eastern Conference they were two of two and 16 he never took a play off but to Andrea’s point he’s a good passer a good offensive player that scores around the basket he just needs to be able to stretch that out but because of his basketball IQ and his work ethic I think he’s going to improve his perimeter shooting yeah and that that shows from his freshman year to his sophomore year and I know it’s not a lot right but freshman year he’s 0 of five from the three-point line sophomore year this past season he made nine threes as a sophomore and I know those numbers don’t jump off or shock anybody but to make more threes than you even took the previous season shows he’s at least putting the work in to develop that side of this game but he scored 11 points in the paint this season that was second in the SEC he’s got soft touch he’s got good hands and he connects his teammates on the offensive side he’s an all SEC second team selection and Khloe Kit’s reaction here i mean an impressive player in her own right and now rocking the Raptors hat

Watch as Adam Silver announces that the Toronto Raptors have selected South Carolina’s Collin Murray-Boyles with the ninth overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.

  1. His energy and willingness to focus on the defensive end reminds me of Herb Jones just nesd a good shooting coach and he will have a long successful career.

  2. I feel it, no one wants to go to a completely different country to play ball, but ESPN said bro was playing ball in another country. For sure not a good look, but hopefully bro falls in love with the city, the culture and the fan base.

  3. He will never be Charles Barkley, and isn't Zion Williamspn either.

Don't know what Toronto is thinking, especially when Malauch was on the board.

This could well be a Bust.

  4. His reaction reflects perfectly the state of eastern Canada and Toronto in particular. Nobody in their right mind would choose to live in this broken liberal dumpster fire. I don’t blame him, not one bit. Same reaction Toronto would get from anyone they drafted, rightfully so.

  5. Can't blame him tho nobody's wants too go too Canada where it's outside the United States but his reaction was better then dejountay murray going too the spurs in 2016

  6. He's actually quite excited to be a Raptor. His head shake and F bomb were in reaction to getting drafted. Toronto was the first team he worked out for. It's a great pick and a great player

  7. I don't know why the raptors picked him up. Hes a great player but they need a center not a forward

  8. Well maybe he does prove y'all wrong because in Summer League y'all will get a better look at Collin Murray-Boyles as he plays in Summer League with Ja'Kobe Walter amongst others

  9. Anyone think that maybe he doesn't shoot 3s because he is not a 3 point shooter. I know it's sounds crazy but…😅

  10. The more I think about it the more I love the pick, wanted Maluach and was a little disappointed at first but CMB is one of the best defenders in the draft and is one of the best rim finishers at only 6’7 he’s a jump shot away from being a 2-way demon, also while it initially seemed like he didn’t want to be here I think he was more in disbelief to be picked at 9 in interviews he actually seems quite keen on the prospect of playing here

  11. His reaction says it all. Besides, who wants to be leaving a hot girlfriend like that? Ujiri and Webster are not that so reliable as they used to be. They should have picked Khaman Maluach instead.

  12. Dude gets to live out every boys dream of getting drafted and then acts ungrateful like that….TYPICAL BLK BEHAVIOR

  13. Wow… what a goof this kid is. Toronto has a great young core. He has a chance of being a part of a really good organization, have an opportunity to play and to win.

  14. I think that he thought he would go few picks later..wasn't ready and expressed excitement that looks negative…his interviews afterwards are great..raptor fans will quickly forgive when he gets 20-10-6 with couple of steals and blocks in summer league

  15. This dude clearly didn't want to be drafted by that lame team to play in that wack and boring country and I don't blame him either. A wise man once said, "They Not Like Us." 😂😂😂😂😂
