Welcome to the North: Raptors 2025 Draftee Collin Murray-Boyles Speaks | Post-Draft Presser
over to here in Toronto who has the first question michael Graange from Sportsnet hi Colin michael Graange from Sportsnet just your initial reaction on the pick um I think the cameras kind of caught you sort of uh saying a word and just wondering what the context of that was and um and and how you feeling about coming to Toronto um just disbelief you know like Toronto was probably it was my first team that I worked out for um but that what I said was not a bad thing by any means um just very thankful for it that was like a surreal moment like to hear my name called um and by this organization that has a good history and have really good players as of right now um it was just a crazy moment um obviously thankful for the opportunity that they give me um and taking it full on i’m ready to do whatever it needs or whatever they need me to do so hey Colin it’s uh John Chidley Hill with the Canadian Press congratulations um what was the workout like with the Raptors you just mentioned that as the first team that you worked out with um great great group of guys great coaching staff they just had a really good energy to them and very high energy as well so I feel like I played with a a pretty good energy just bouncing back and forth off of their energy so that was it was really good um showcased a lot of my skill and a lot of my game just my switchability the improvement when we shot having them get there um and my overall athleticism and my willingness to my effort but yeah everybody was really good to he had a lot of energy to him so you know ready to get to Why don’t we work we’ll work with them for sure hey Colin Josh Lindberg TSN congratulations um you guys had a tough season last year in terms of wins and losses what was that like to go through what did you learn about yourself and do you think that it may have helped prepare you for some of the highs and lows of the NBA um it definitely prepared me um teams go through good days and they go through good months where they win a lot of games and then next month it could be in a snap of a finger where you go on a drought and you don’t win any games for extended period of time so me having the good and the bad having both of those experiences so early on in my career um just prepared me even more for what I’m uh what I can face at the next level so looking back on it it was a lot of people don’t really get that opportunity to go have a historical season and then have one of the worst seasons so I think having both really helps me especially going into the 82 game season and really not being surprised or you know being prepared for what to expect if that if that happens colin Eric Corin from the Athletic congratulations uh a lot of the you know draft gurus who talk about your game talk about your defense and how you know versatile and intelligent you are on that end of the floor uh what can you say about your game on the other end offensively what uh what you really love doing and what you think you really need to improve to uh you know become the player you want to be yeah um something that is attributed to me is just my high IQ and my adaptability i feel like that’s something I’ve had throughout my whole career is being able to adapt to certain play styles regardless if that’s with a shooter non-shooter um that’s that’s something that has been pivotal for me um and just figuring out a place to stand out on the court and then obviously everybody talked about the shot but that’s something that I’ve been fine-tuning for these past couple of months i’m really just trying to get it to that point where it’s consistent and I’m confident with it as of right now like very confident about it and it’s a it’s a different feeling so it’ll definitely open up my game and help my team obviously in the long run so just willing to do whatever the team needs and I knew that was what it was so right hey Colin this is Ryan Waff from the Toronto Sun congratulations welcome to Toronto uh I’m just curious how you feel like you can step in right away next season and how you feel like you uh complement the players already there and just one more not to throw too many out here but uh how you think playing with someone like Scotty Barnes can can help your game and just learning from him um well all the guys they they’ve been through this process they understand what it takes to be successful in in a league like this so learning from all the guys um everyone that’s on the team everybody that is you know in good positions um just trying to learn as much as possible early on i feel like that’s something that I’m going to tackle on day one um and something I bring to the team is just my physicality and my willing to do whatever the coach needs me to do um something with me is I don’t I’ve been I’ve been a role player i’ve been a guy that’s come off the bench i’ve been the guy i’ve I’ve been I’ve done it all you know so me having no like what to do um just whatever the coach needs me to do especially early on just try to find my role as quick as possible to to help the team win hi Colin uh Chelsea late from Raptors HQ here uh coming from South Carolina which is a school that has dedicated fan base very um you know big reputation of winning and excellence how do you think going to that school will affect you as a player coming to somewhere like Toronto that again has a very unique very uh intense and passionate fan base and how excited are you to play in somewhere as unique as Toronto i’m I’m super excited um just I know how passing the fans are and how diverse um the city of Toronto is and to see that and to be around that environment on a daily basis is something that’s going to only make me a better player overall that environment is is amazing the city is great so just being there and it’s going to make me a better player um obviously lift my morale up so it it’s definitely good but you know it’s definitely a lot about just the team and me getting to know the team and trying to really be the best that I can for the team hi Colin aaron Rose from si.com uh you mentioned your shooting and and the work that’s gone into that uh it sounds like over the summer what has that process been like for you can you take us through that process um I I literally came into my pre-draft process two weeks earlier than anybody else just to work on mechanics first day um it’s it’s been it’s been a a challenge and it’s not not in a bad way but in a way of that’s the main thing every single day I come into the gym is just getting shot shots up and just trying to focus on my form try to keep it as consistent as possible try to do the little things to to make it more comfortable for me and right now I’m at a point to where I feel that type of comfort that I’ve been that I’ve been wanting um so it it’s definitely been a really good process for me and obviously watching like professional guys we have professional guys come by the gym all the time just seeing how they work and their work ethic and their attention to detail is something that I try to put into my game and my shot to make it overall just better hey Colin this is Willoo from the Hello and Welcome podcast first off can you just describe to us like the emotions that go into a day like this um and maybe how overwhelmed you are in this sort of moment where you know you you finally got to see your dreams come true here um not going to lie to you I didn’t even feel this this type of emotions uh to like at the beginning of this day like I was very mellow um really going about as a normal day you know and then started to feel a little bit when when we got to the uh Barlay Center and then it really it really swooped in once we did the introductions and got to see the whole atmosphere of of the green room so that was a surreal feeling for sure i mean just right now I’m still in disbelief um I don’t know a lot’s going through my mind but just really really really excited for the future and just one more for me um you mentioned you played a lot of roles already you know in college you you’ve been a role player you’ve been the man um what do you envision your future to look like in the NBA when it’s all said and done it’s all about finding your spot at the end of the day um for any rookie you’re never going to come in and be the man that’s just not not possible so just finding what you can do to impact the team obviously gives the coaches more trust on what you can do so just finding out what that is early on and then building on top of that is going to be very very important for my growth it’s uh Adam Lasceras from Daily Hive i’m just wondering sort of uh who would you say were your biggest influences and mentors in your life growing up and how have they sort of helped you in in the past few years uh in this process biggest influences got to be my brother um he’s the reason I picked up a basketball so without him I wouldn’t even be talking to any of y’all today um so I attribute a lot of what I am doing now to him but obviously my family mom and dad they’ve been through a lot um just raising me and my brothers um has has been really tough for them and they’ve been able to succeed and persevere through it to so to see what they’ve done for me only makes me want to go hard every day in whatever I’m doing so I’ve I’ve had a lot of good people around me and I’m fortunate enough to have good coaches good family good friends and a whole bunch of good teammates that I’ve that I’ve played with and that I’ve experienced a lot with so to have that I’m just truly blessed and thankful for everything that I’ve been able to receive hey Colin VC Jacob with the Locked On Raptors podcast congratulations on getting drafted you mentioned Toronto was the first team that you worked out with i was just curious what you came away with after the workout and what you felt really proud of what you showed um I just came out after the workout they really emphasized how much they wanted to win and how much they wanted to pre persevere over and then just how fast they wanted to go and that’s something that I feel like I could be doing for them and the physicality that they wanted and the defense uh mentality that they wanted um wanted to build a a new identity with that and I feel like I’m somebody that can fulfill that and my defensive prowess and just how how hard I play but um the workout was was really good uh with Toronto um showed a lot and gained a lot from from that experience talked to a lot of their coaches on what I could do better um and I put a put a lot away from from that so that was that was really good for me thanks

With all due respect, I would hate to be CMB and be drafted to the Raptors. The front office has some type of air abt them/facade. Like a buisness feel to them (which it is). Definitely not like Sam Presti from OKC energy
We The North !
Well spoken artuculate thoughtful speaker. I think this is why the Raps like him, he's mature and seems like a good head on his shoulders.
This guy’s first word was fuck
Didnt like the young mans reaction……this is a championship team hes on …..toronto is a championship town….hes gonna have to prove it now……forgive me for having ptsd because most athletes dont like playing here but this is my team regardless……go raps go
Hopefully he gets traded
Looks absolutely uninterested in being drafted by Toronto fantastic.
FYI my job is literally to pick out when people are lying, and this dude is showing every tell. If this dude was infront of me I would be calling him out.
Welcome to the 6🤩🦖
My comparison is a Julius Randle+Kawhi
Rj is him..will be a beast, especially in a non tanking year, with everyone healthy. He was so good in a tanking season with an unhealthy roster…imagine how good he will be this season..trade agbaji, dick, mogbo or i.q instead
Kawhi didnt want to come, but delivered a championship..Then left..didn't want to be here, but gave his all. This kid will adjust and like it like kyle, demar and scottie
He's got a bit of a Chuck Barkley undersize PF.
Well spoken, aware and mature. Good pick.
Safe to say this guy will be the most hated player on the team this upcoming season . First chance he gets hes moving back to the states. Ill be shocked if hes still on this squad by trade deadline . Should've drafted a non American who wants to be in Canada.
All you immature judgmental kids listening? Do you feel good about your amazing body language & mind reading skills? 😂
I cant wait for the season to start. This guy is going to be a gem. Him and Scottie are going to bring us a title one day.
Masai needs to teach him the second half of the expression, "$$$$ Brooklyn."
He didnt answer the first question. He came from a loser team, to a another loser team. The raptors are the worst drafters. They think they know how to draft. Their best players have always been those who have a chip on their shoulders. Every good raptor had a chip. This guy is a dud. Look at the reaction on his face. He cant shoot. Useless. He would be better served on another team.
rough start bud better hit your 3's
Welcome to Toronto!
Honestly, even if he hated it at the time, as long as he is willing to give it a chance, that’s all that matters. It’s about how you adjust when things don’t go how you imagined.
Blondie looked pissed too
Reading from a script. Damage control is so high right now.
An frankly its not hid fault. He's a great talent, and i wish him well. But he and everyone else in the damn city knows that was damn dumb from a player fit perspective. You drafted anither forward withbno scoring ability.
While we are 1 injury away from playing him at center agenst 7 footers.
Laughable, really.
They wrote something for him. The man cant even look in the camera. Just anither player that dont want to play here.. who shakes their head and say fuck, as to mean to be in disbelief???
He will get out of Toronto after his rookie contract as soon as he can, like Tracy McGrady
People need to chill on their interpretations of CMB's initial reaction, regardless of what caused it. He just turned 20 a couple weeks ago, and probably has very limited experience in Canada and Toronto. I wouldn't blame him if he'd prefer not to go to the only NBA team in a foreign country. It's our job as Canadians and Torontonians to earn his love and respect, just like it's his job to earn ours. We've won over many players before. We should show him some class and give him time to adjust. I'm stoked to see him on the court. Go Raps!!!
His game IQ might be better than Scottie’s and Mogbo’s for us to pick him. Really intriguing to see it unfold why we didn’t pick a center when there was a glaring need for one. Anyway he’s one of us now. Rooting for him to succeed and grow.
Where did you get the glamour shots filter and who is recording the sound? This is bush-league.
He just kno his gf gonna leave behind that's y he cussed 😅
Man am I excited to see the defensive combo of CMB and Scottie, it'll be a treat to watch! TRUST IN MASSAI FANS!
