The San Antonio Spurs FINESSED The NBA…

a team with Victor WMyama Stefan Castle De’aran Fox Kell Johnson Jeremy Sohan just got even more loaded with the two gems that the San Antonio Spurs pulled out from the draft but these aren’t your usual draft picks dylan Harper is an insane talent we’ll get to him later on in today’s video but we need to talk about how the Spurs literally finessed the NBA and got Carter Bryant on the 14th pick so who is Carter Bryant and how he’s going to help the Spurs team out well Carter Bryan is a very good three-point shooter he shot the three-pointer at a 37% clip in college and shooting comes at a premium in today’s NBA and to get a player that could shoot this well is pretty good player like Carter Bryan is pretty easy to insert into the offense cuz we know he could shoot so you could set him a lot of offball screens so he could come off of them and lace the three-pointer in college Arizona would usually run the ball inside the paint and when doubles would come they would have Carter Bryant sitting at the right wing to space out the floor and all you have to do now is kick it out to him and he has a pretty wide open look he splashes that thing so so far we’re looking at the Spurs getting another floor spacer so Webby De’aran Fox and Stefon Castle could have so much more room to operate and get inside of the paint clar Bryant is just simply a plug-andplay player that is so seamless you could just sit him in that left corner and let the Arizona offense operate and when the defense slacks off on him just kick it to him in the corner and he will knock down the three the reason why I think the Spurs have done such a great job is that they have drafted two players that will instantly impact this roster and that’s exactly what you need NBA ready players carter Bryan also has one of the best IQs when it comes to positioning cuz that’s one of the most important things when you’re playing in the NBA over here he sees that there’s someone already in the corner so instead of standing at the wing he goes to the dunker spot so that when they attack the paint he’s going to be completely wide open and get himself an easy bucket so now that we know what Carter Bryant’s about on the offensive end we need to look at the playmaking side of the ball too because his shooting is what leads to his playmaking let me explain over here when he’s getting a handoff it usually means that you’re going to get the screen and you’re going to pull up from the mid-range area or the three-point area and these two defenders are too worried about Carter Bryant’s jump shot this gives leeway for the big man to get inside of the paint and Carter Bryant throws a perfect pass through the crevice to get the big man a wide open dunk this is what gives me hope for the Spurs squad he uses his gravity on the offensive end to get his teammates going here’s another example he grabs the ball on the left wing takes a dribble like he’s going to shoot this causes three defenders to swarm around him and all he has to do is either pass it to the right of him or to the paint so he chooses the paint instead dots it and that’s an easy bucket again just because of him attracting gravity although Carter Bryan only averaged one assist per game in college this film shows us that there is hope that he could become a playmaker for the Spurs team you’re going to be passing it to players like Victor Webbyama Dearon Fox Stefon Castle so it’s going to be much easier carter Bryant is also a very good defender over here carter Bryan sees that his teammate is being back cuted on and now he has to make the gamble is he going to guard the cut or is he going to guard the player in that right wing so to have this type of IQ to go ahead and help instead and take that gamble to get that block is what you need in today’s NBA but if you thought that play was impressive we’re only getting started because Carter Bryant has a 611 wingspan so that when he gets hit by hard screens he could sprint at you and make up room with his wingspan and block you from behind to get the stock so so far when I’m looking at his highlights I could see that he’s a great three-point shooter he could play defense his playmaking will improve especially when you’re playing with players like Victor Wyama but there is also some improvements that he needs when I looked at his stat weaknesses you could see that he’s a player that tends to foul a lot i’m not really worried about that stat weakness then there’s free throw percentage that’s something that’s going to come with time he can get that better all of these weaknesses will be fixed with more time in the NBA i’m not really worried but the main question is what will Carter Bryant bring for the Spurs team and well I’m not going to answer it i’m going to let him answer it i see myself um like I said being a guy that can bring energy toughness physicality somebody that just going to show up on a consistent basis and just work his ass off so in terms of that I feel like that’s what I bring and I’m looking forward to playing with my guy Darp i mean it’s been a long time coming we uh had a lot of conversations throughout high school whether I was trying to play together in college just maybe playing together at some point so for him to be my draft buddy and being able to both go in the lottery and be able to represent San Antonio is is dope i can’t lie watching that interview put a smile on my face cuz not only did he tell you that he’s going to come and impact this roster he told you that he’s friends with Dylan Harper who also got picked with the second pick in the NBA draft dylan Harper is another beast he averaged 19.4 points per game in college 4.6 rebounds four assists 1.4 and four steals and shot the three-pointer at a 33% so what Dylan Harper is going to bring you is a guy that can handle the ball very well he’s probably the best ball handler in this entire draft when it comes to scoring he will go downhill put a lot of pressure on the rim and when it comes to the three-point scoring I’m not really worried 33% isn’t that crazy but that could definitely get better when he gets in the league and works on his mechanics but I think the most important thing that’s going to help out the Spurs next season is his playmaking and as you guys know when he goes downhill attracts his double team he will automatically kick it out to the shooter and he will spray it for the three that shooter could be Carter Bryant next season he also adds a little bit of spice to his assisting over here cuz he will hit you with a spin and then last second thread it through the needle and get his player a wide open dunk and similar to Carter Bryant you could give Dylan Harper handoffs and if the defenders are playing him way too high up he will just throw a pass between two defenders and get his teammates going as well so so far when I’m looking at his playmaking it shows that he’s pretty entertaining on that side of the ball but he’s also smart when it comes to making those last second decisions when you’re being double teamed and that’s what matters similar to Carter Bryant we need to look at the weaknesses that Dylan Harper has and while when I’m looking at these weaknesses a lot of them are on the defensive side of the floor defensive rating that can get better when you’re playing with a defensive-minded team like the Spurs i also noticed that a lot of these players struggle shooting the free throw shot and well that will also get better and when I looked at this website it also says that assisting is one of his stat weaknesses which I clearly don’t agree on he will get much better and I could see him being a six seven assists per game type of guy i’m just so happy that the Spurs got to draft two likable guys and two guys that could genuinely help out Victor Webbinyama this team will easily be a playoff team next season but how far will they go but after looking at this draft I will give the Spurs an A+ they did an insane job but it wasn’t only me that was hyped about these picks this is it this is it for me they they won the draft they walk out with Dylan Harper and Carter carter Bryant carter Bryan is a guy that for me I would have felt comfortable taking as early as five so the pick grades are in 82% of our viewers right now are saying a lot of people graded this an A for the Spurs and I agree with it if you guys enjoyed today’s video make sure you hit the like because one like is one person that believes that the Spurs will make the playoffs next season 1. I give the Spurs an A+…they actually got what they needed to help w/ their building process…offense, defense & young high potential depth.

  2. my comp for my carter bryant is iguodola with a more consistent 3pt, and getting harper is a potential all star talent

A++ draft for my spurs love this new young crew we have

  3. Sochan + Carter maybe now the answer to locking down the 3pt area that usually the weakest spot the Spurs had defended, they lost games from there when opponents made a lot 3s.

  4. HS pals! Great bench
You can bring in Harper Bryant, Sohan, and Wesley for lockdown defense off the bench with Castle and Victor elite

  5. A+ is about right. CBryant is a future 3&D star. Wemby-Sochan-Bryant-Castle-Fox are going to be difficult to score on. Harper will start off getting experience leading the second unit off the bench.

  6. The Spurs problem is going to be their inept G-League "coach" Mitch Johnson. Pray that Pop's puppet coach doesn't get in the way. Maybe he was a good asst coach but he clearly showed in SIX MONTHS that he was not HC material. Fans will see I am right by the February trade deadline. Maybe the Mavs Sean Sweeney was signed to replace Mitch either in February or after one season.
