did Kyrie make the right decision signing a three-year extension to stay with the Mavs yes yeah hell yeah and we talked about this a lot when when the injury happened what his future would look like i think you guys said he would probably decline that and try and get a longer term deal yeah i mean just just for you as a individual when you’re talking about uh like guaranteeing money this was the smartest move for him financially right where you don’t know what your career is going to end up like right you got an injury you you you still they got to make a move on you because they can’t let you walk so if you could net another guaranteed 60 million or 70 million right this is the time to do it and that’s what the move was like you know I’m willing to take a pay cut or whatever but what I’m doing is for the next two years I’m guaranteeing you something I didn’t have before right you know you can’t look at like oh if I you know come back like he’s going to miss this year most of this year and then try to go into free agency you don’t know what he’s going to get so it’s easy it was easier to strike now to guarantee yourself another 70 80 million so this is a brilliant move for them and it it for them it it saves money too yeah i was just looking at it as the fact that he’s probably going to miss majority of next year and going to free agency coming off of not playing that’s the way I would even think about the that’s the part of it yes but I was just looking at the fact yeah going into free agency not had played a lot yeah and there was reports he could have been in like the 50 to 60 million annual range before the knee injury yeah suffered a knee injury was probably going to opt out anyway the Mavs I think he said have been loyal to him showed commitment to him that he appreciated saying so the future is bright um in Dallas so yeah this is a smart move man all around yeah then FY4 is mental now that he got this out the way you know he can get through his injury and like they said the future is still bright in Dallas they got the number one pick you got Klay Thompson over there still uh ad so you still you know still on the up and up in Dallas yeah how do you like this move for for Kyrie to stay with the Mavs I think uh it’s proven enough you know it’s a lot of money um opportunity come back try to do something big next three years take advantage of it so they got Kyrie locked over through your deal got Daniel Gaffford extended as well threeear $60 million deal so after the Luca trade Mav GM Nico Harrison easily the most hated man in Dallas getting serenated with Fire Nico chance at home games and even medieval times uh but Harrison assembled a solid roster had the ping-pong balls bounc in his favor with the Mavs securing the number one pick will Nico Harrison and the Mavs get the last laugh for the Luca trade i mean is it i know G that’s why I had to ask i know when you say last laugh like as in what yeah yeah that’s ha why so serious i told you [ __ ] he was eating too much barbecue and smoking hookah full circle i mean I guess I mean I guess it’s like if Dallas go on win championships without him that’s the last laugh i mean so I mean you guys you guys and the Lakers don’t yeah you guys killed me because I traded traded your favorite player and we traded him because we needed to win championships are the Mavs in a better position right now to win a chip in the near future than the Lakers are currently i mean I still like him i still think they’re on the up and up they still got the number one pick they got Kyrie locked up still got AD still got Clay still got veterans you put AD and Kyrie together it’s like you didn’t just keep Kyrie and Gaffford and Lively you know gave him AD you have Clay you have Cooper and Clay come on man and come on man kyrie couldn’t be more happy sitting over there smiling in this spiritual way i had to ask you i know i I mean you can ask because when we’re talking about laughing who is actually laughing you’re saying Dallas is going to laugh at me i’m saying Dallas and Nico Nico Harrison everybody looking at him like he was an idiot okay let’s try how dare you get the you gota remember she got the team for free and sold for 10 billion they bought it they bought the team from right what they bought it for 6 billion Cuban Cuban let me see uh get that number remember they they they got a price on their head already so what is their profit margin when they decide to sell the team so to to even say haha Ha to Jenny but you got to sell that [ __ ] for what 164 million to have a $10 million profit so he sold the controlling interest for 3.5 billion so 3.5 so So you got to sell for 13 just to say haha to her when we talk about business so before the Luca trade was she in trouble fun i mean that that’s when you look across the owners and the land yeah we got the team don’t really got that bread don’t got that million for the analytic staff and all that other I’m I’m confused how confused we gave you something you get you get to hide now we get to ride now i think we still get to laugh i still got still think Nico gets to laugh cuz we got to push you out cuz you was doing such a bad job so yeah we kind of saved you in a sense so it shouldn’t be a haha it should be a thank you thank you Nico thank you Nico thank you Nico we know I’m laugh at you high five which I’m not a conspiracy theorist but makes you wonder how all these feel like some bigger we got the whole NFL collusion situation going on just makes you wonder makes you say “Hm.” So at the end of the day they still came out on top who the Lakers yeah you talking about somebody who’s financially don’t have no money we switch for me to become wealthy i I don’t I’m you know I’m pretty sure she’s laughing all of it 10 billion without Huh the Lakers don’t sell for 10 billion without I would know because they only sold with Luca so I can’t guess what they ask it again shout out to I can’t go hypothetical i The Lakers have sold for 10 billion we should use your chest man i can only go with what it sold for i can’t I can’t do we do hypotheticals all the time but I don’t need a hypothetical when I have a fact right here the fact it sold for 10 billion last year but he’s asking you a hypothetical last year the Boston Celtics sold for six mill six billion with a championship on their head so I can only say but smaller market than LA as well so I can only say hey with 10 billion I I I inherited 10 billion with no cash and I want to say previous estimates were like the seven to eight billion range for the Lakers so hold two more what is that not a question though no it’s a very very valid and fair question it’s a question that’s a valid question it’s a question that has no answer i have no idea we don’t LeBron AD Lakers selling for 10 B i would venture to say no can we do this the only way to answer that question for real what was the value of the team last year or at the end of last 2024 or the beginning of this year that’s the only that’s the only way we know what was the value of the team the beginning of the season so we can’t So we’re not giving a hypothetical no all we can say is what it was worth before Luca got there that’s all we can I think so you think they can sell for more no i think they sell it for 10 billion if he’s there or not really absolutely pulling it up good absolutely i think so cuz it’s the Lakers man i know but I can we can only go with what it was worth i’m saying it’s the franchise did Luca put a cherry on top yeah but I think it still goes for that with or without him just the name they sell it just the name itself just the name itself the Lakers brand history inflation los Angeles i think it sells for that why because it doesn’t it doesn’t sell before was the question did nobody get the last laugh or Luca and Dallas does Nico does Nico oh yeah so if it’s Nico then Nico going his last laugh would be yeah on the court talking about your business i mean Nico’s never been part of the the conversation with Lavon because obviously he’s laughing the whole time because he wasn’t getting fired that’s them [ __ ] up there that’s what they wanted so Forbes had the Lakers valued at 7.1 billion in October 2024 all right so but seven seven Yeah 7.1 but the Celtics sale I’m sure impacted that we could say Luca potentially yeah but the Boston selling for that definitely did but that’s that’s what impacted that not Luca boston selling for six impacted that yeah i’m just saying more than Luka did but I’m saying we can’t we can’t we don’t what you said when October they were 24 they were valued at seven and when did Boston sale for 6.1 when uh a couple months ago if I’m not mistaken the sale went through and then that new ownership group I believe takes over in the next couple weeks so these are the moves that they’re they’re pushing but so let’s shift over to the draft
