so could the Portland Trailblazers be trading away Robert Williams to the Los Angeles Lakers this 2025NBA off seasonason well here on the screen is a trade proposal or a trade idea from fadeawayorld.net The link to this article is down below in case you want to go ahead and check it out for yourself but this trade would see the Los Angeles Lakers receiving Robert Williams and the Portland Trailblazers receiving Jared Vanderbilt Shake Milton and a 2031 firstround draft pick So in my personal opinion this is just way too much for the Lakers to give up for a player uh of Robert Williams’ caliber And no offense to Robert Williams he’s actually still not a terrible player but this just you know giving up a first round draft pick in 2031 just seems way too steep and way too unknown uh for kind of how this team is heading uh to pull the trigger on this sort of trade So if that 2031 first round draft pick is given up in a deal I think it would have to be for a more reliable player like Robert Williams makes a lot of sense because like when he is healthy he’s a really solid player He’s not too old as well He could be a nice player to play alongside Luca for example in that pick and roll game But a couple question marks with Robert Williams First and foremost his health um injuries have been a huge concern for him So at this point a bit of a gamble to flip a future first round draft pick that could be a lottery pick for him But also too is just the the money Like if you don’t want to commit money to a player that might not be playing very much for you um truthfully speaking So you can view this as an upgrade for their front court Sure Uh but I would rather go after other players like Walker Kesler for instance Jiren Jackson Jr for example and give up the draft capital and plus a little bit more uh for him as compared to a couple roster players like Jared Vanderbilt really solid 3 and D guy Plus if for the Portland Trailblazers after the Drew Holiday trade they might want to get rid of some money and move some players out Robert Williams to me if they can find a partner for him would be a prime trade candidate So for these reasons I think the winner of this deal without a doubt would be the Portland Trailblazers But as always leave your thoughts
