Kevin Durant Just Got Traded To The Rockets
kevin Durant was traded to the Houston Rockets my apologies on being late i was running errands and I was in I was getting my haircut i wasn’t about to jump out of the barber seat to be like “Oh I got to record this video.” Even though that would have been wild would have a fade uh but here’s here’s the details of the trade man kevin Rice part of the Houston Rockets they get back Jaylen Green Dylan Brooks the number 10 pick in this year’s draft and five second round picks um some of those second round picks convey in 2030 2032 one of them conveys this year but it is the very last pick in this year’s draft so it is officially done now we’ve known Kevin Rance’s preferred destinations we’ve known the teams that were interested could they have waited one extra day to break this news probably so we could just focus on game seven something historic happening in the NBA right now uh but no we do get the Kevin Durant trade and I got a lot to talk about i actually do like that I didn’t I wasn’t able to record the video immediately because when I first saw this trade break as as I’m I’m sitting still to get my lineup I see Jaylen Green is in it and my immediate reaction was like “Okay that’s interesting.” But because it got Deon Booker and because he got Bradley Beal Jaylen Green probably gets rerouted to another team and I’m thinking in my head who could those teams be who would be interested in Jaylen Green at this point based on what he just did in the postseason last year but then we got a report from Gambo that says that Ishb and them plan on keeping Jaylen Green so I would have came to this video talking about different destinations for Jaylen Green the only destination that matters is the Phoenix Suns for him i’m also happy because you know immediate reaction was wow that’s it now obviously the Suns had zero leverage it’s like zero leverage we We’ve all known Kevin Rant wanted out we all know that they wanted to trade him away we all knew that the Suns wanted to complete the trade before the draft because they wanted some draft capital in it so when you think about them having zero leverage yeah I I still thought like damn that’s that’s just not that’s just not a lot and then Shams Sherania reports Then Sham Shirania reports one of the other trade offers that were on the table which was Jame Hakez Nicole Yoic Hayward Heismith and Pick 20 and I’m like “All right yeah Houston trade was pretty good.” But I can’t look at this trade for the Suns as a one to one we traded away Kevin Durant because you got to think about the six trades that lead it up to the point where this is end up this end up being the case with Cam Johnson with with Chris Paul with Muel Bridges the second round picks and the first round picks that they gave up for it to boil down to Jaylen Green Dylan Brooks and whoever they drafted 10 i feel bad the same as the Finals team just a few years ago man that team was lovable in my personal opinion now my favorite player was on the team but I really enjoyed watching those teams go on that that that championship run well they lost in the finals but you get what I’m saying that run to end up being in the finals and you know Devin Booker at that point i think he’s only 24 years old he’s like oh he’ll be back you get the moment where the the Bucks are celebrating and Deon Booker’s on the court like damn and I’m like oh don’t worry don’t worry Devon you’re only 24 you’ll be back and now here he is at what now was he what age 20 27 and he looking around like uh he is 28 almost 29 damn Book is about to be 30 that’s nuts you see I just rounded up for him um man do I just hate everything that’s been going on in Phoenix and I’ve been team Devin Booker stays around but it’s so hard if I’m Devin Booker and in this camp to look at what’s left of a team that I had my most success with after I spent the first Hold on hold on hold on year one year two year three year four year five i spent the first five years of my career just in oblivion teams that would win 19 games 21 games 24 games and to be at the age of 28 and now we have to go through that again i thought that may have been a world before any trade happened that like the Suns can recruit some assets so you think to yourself okay maybe this a one or twoear retooling and we’ll be back to not being contenders like they were in 2021 but at least being competent enough to say we’re competing for a playoff spot i just don’t see that as the case anymore given what they got back in this trade uh I I said on just yesterday’s podcast that I may be one of the last Jaylen Green believers but damn it I don’t believe he about to be no superstar nothing but like a lot of people were turned off to Jaylen Green based on that playoff performance and it’s understandable but I still look at him as like a 23-year-old guy trying to figure some things out but this is one of his worst scenarios if you ask me as far as trying to figure out who he can become as a player and how does this impact the de it’s just a lot man it’s just a lot and I wonder if we’re ever going to get like some of the other teams that were interested like the Houston Rockets apparently were interested what were No I’m sorry not the Houston Rockets the uh Toronto Raptors were interested figuring out what the hell that was what were the SP the Spurs offering maybe it was pick 14 and just filler like a Harrison Barnes and change and none of them had the upside of maybe what Jaylen Green for number two overall pick could be i feel for Suns fans though i truly truly do thinking about what this team would look like i don’t know i got Suns fans hitting me up like the only reason that they accept this trade because they got an idea that Bradley Beal is going to get rid of his no trade clause or ship him to another team it’s like even if we are being the most optimistic side of that thing what you ain’t getting nothing back right you know what I mean it’s not like if he says “Yeah I’ll be traded to Chicago for whatever reason.” It’s not like you about to get somebody’s like “Okay now this team is interesting there’s no there’s nothing interesting about this team right i mean it’s interesting but not a positive interesting you know uh so this is another tale of new owner syndrome and how that could really derail an organization i think Matt Ishbia’s intentions were right trying to compete and trying to win championships but the execution was awful so awful and now he continues to hire these these people that were from his area the Michigan Michigan State area and it’s like just a bunch of potential yes man and it just don’t you don’t see the light at the end of the tunnel and if a report came out for whatever reason that Book was looking to express his options that there can’t be a single Suns fan that would I mean they probably will be but they shouldn’t feel some type of way about it like I said he spent the first five years of his career in oblivion before you know they go into the bubble and they win eight games or 8-0 whatever it may be they trade for Chris Paul and now they’re in the finals and then he basically just got like what two three years three years of being a competent NBA team before everything went crashing again golly it’s all about the Houston Rocket side though because boy isn’t this a this is a treat to be able to walk out of this without mortgaging any of the s and again no disrespect to Jaylen Green mortgaging any of the super young intriguing prospects that they already have on the roster and walk out with Kevin Durant is amazing you know I to not end up even having to get with a Cam Whitmore and now Cam Whitmore team is probably feeling pretty good because with this trade it probably opens up more opportunity uh for him to play with two wings guard wings going out and maybe Cam Whitmore gets a burn so they didn’t mortgage anything i mean yeah the 10th overall pick could be valuable and maybe the Suns hit on that pick and boom light at the end of the tunnel for them but when you consider you do you do still have Ammon Jabari Tari Reed and Cam where the hell was the 10th overall pick guy going to fit in in all of that this is this is just nearly a flawless trade because even if it don’t work even for whatever reason Kevin Ren comes to the Houston Rockets and ends up being trash they end up losing more games than they win no that’s not gonna happen but they were what a 50s some win team last year let’s say they fall back into a playing team which again I don’t think it’s happening fine you know what I’m saying just just like that we still got Shinon we still got Amen i think that this team’s next year ceiling because I think that’s a lot of what people are trying to have the conversation of i think the betting odds just said that the Houston Rockets jumped up as a number two team in the Eastern Western Conference which I guess in the regular season they were that according to record but even if everything goes bad and you still have like Aman Thompson and Amen Thompson’s next jump is going to be so critical to match the timelines of a Kevin Durant team with these dudes and we just saw Ahmed Thompson look really good in his rookie season but then look like an alldefensive player in year number two and see some of the other offensive things and the way he’s being utilized as an offensive player shift from his second season now with the added spacing and creation that is Kevin Durant I don’t know what the hell happens with Amen Thompson next but I guarantee you it’s going to be something positive this team was a team that went to the postseason and they took the Golden State Warriors to seven they took the Golden State Warriors to seven um with Jimmy B of course missing that one game i forgot about that without them having somebody on the perimeter that you felt really comfortable with like Freddy gave us a couple games that were bangers for Fred Vanley shout out to him but without them having a go-to score and a potential go-to closer they took the Warriors to seven like that is nuts and now they’re adding in a Kevin Durant i just I I I love it for them because again if it does not work it’s fine it’s fine because not only do you hold your own future you still hold the the the Phoenix Suns’ future the Suns didn’t get back their picks in this trade 2027 for the Suns are still in your in your treasure trove so again Rafael Stone has been doing an amazing job over there in Houston um and I’m excited to see what happens next it feels weird to see Kevin on another team to see the clips of you know them announcing the trade where he was on stage it’s pretty fun um he just did an interview with Kate uh Kate Adams where he said he knew that the trade was about to happen but it was fun that it happened on stage um wow what a trade what a trade i think that um even though they gave up Dylan Brooks they still will have the defensive infrastructure to stay great and Kevin Durant gave us flashes of really good defense last season specifically in the beginning of the season and then it just wavered as the season went on but he’s also 37 years old so I don’t expect him to be the protective deterrent that maybe he was two years ago um but because they do have Aman and they will still have a combination of Tari and and Jabari and so on and so forth I don’t expect this team defensively to jump drop off too much i mean yeah they sacrifice some of that but think about the offensive upside that Kevin Ran is really bringing to the team i just had to quickly go through with this because I was like I I remember you know some things about Kevin Wright last season i’m just looking at overall game log and I’m just sitting here counting uh they were they were three and 17 when he didn’t play last season and that’s a huge one right that’s a huge one can we get Kevin Durant to play more right that’s a big question would he be able to stay healthy for a postseason run but some of these stretches are really bad and then you also count them up uh they were 33 and 29 with him last season so obviously you know Kevin Ren is still a really good player he ain’t the player that he was in 2012 but who the hell is right still averages of 266 and four 50 40 84 that’s a That’s a bad man that’s a bad bad man and that bad man is now going to the Houston Rockets so really excited about how creative they could get offensively with Kevin around on the roster now as like a a guy that couldn’t be a decoy and also be like just give me the ball and let me rock out i feel like they didn’t really have that too much um Jaylen Green did provide a good amount of like rim pressure especially later on throughout the season kevin Rant doesn’t really do that as much he still drives a ton but he is more drive to pull-ups instead of drive to get to the paint and get two feet in we’ll see if that maybe shifts but he also again is 37 years old i can’t ask him to go out there and attempt seven free throws a game or 13 free throws a game or something what did he average last year from the line he He shot six he shot six last year he shot six that’s fair that’s fair for for that old man i mean his his third year he shot 10 and 90% oh my god bro hey man i still appreciate Kevin Durant and how great he is even if the team has been trash um he has he’s played 35 games 55 games 47 games 75 games last year and then 62 games so you just keep your fingers crossed that you could get a really healthy season but again there’s no downside you know like usually if you like Desmond Bane trade even though I really like it for the Orlando Magic the downside is he doesn’t help them get over the hump and now you just mortgage five years worth of draft picks you didn’t do you didn’t do that you didn’t do that in this trade dog i love for when a team is the reciprocant of a star player with no value because more likely than not that player is still really good right kevin Ran didn’t have any value not because he’s bad but because there’s no leverage from the opposing team if Kevin Durant was they say surprise trade candidate let’s say the Houston the the Suns just won 50 games and for whatever reason he’s low-key available I I promise you the trade package will be higher but like if we’re the Rockets and we’re the Spurs and we’re Miami why are we competing against each other to to to get the guy that we know has to be traded anyway really excited about what Kevin Re could do um Jaylen Green starting with Devin Booker they were already just a such a poor defensive team and they were 28th in defense last year still don’t know who their center is going to be next year hell we don’t know any of their wings they really are just a team of guard play guard play and I Oh I just remembered the Marshon Brooks thing remember Marshawn Brooks in 2017 or 2018 got traded but they thought it was Dylan Brooks now they finally get Dylan Brooks

Is KD already the biggest superstar journeyman ever?
This guy is really wondering if kd is the best journeyman superstar ever
Dbook to my pistons!!
Would it be crazy to hope Harden comes back to Houston to Join KD for this Championship run?
jalen green with shooters around him we're on for a treat
The suns are just going for like a mediocre double timeline thing and it makes zero sense
The Suns traded Mikal, Cam, and four first-rounders for KD. They got Jalen Green, Brooks, and 1 first-rounder back. This franchise is cooked.
My suns are going through it but I'm gonna lighten it up a little bit.. 95% of nba fans would have made that KD trade to begin with. It didn't work but Chris paul was getting older so everyone was okay with trying it especially since my suns have never won a chip before so why not go for it. Jalen Green is more of a decent prospect I get he might not live up to his #2 overall pick but he's only 23! He's literally 4-5 years from his prime. I believe he's too athletic to not have some sort of big impact on a team down the line. Plus it was better than just keeping KD cause that suns team was going nowhere and KD is about to be 37! Better to get rid of him now and just suck for another 2 years and not get anything for him! 💯💯💯
Jalen Green is Young, Athletic and Not Injury Prone. Bad Trade.
Kenny started talking about KD and defensive flashes. Thats Nets sweep ptsd is no joke
I forgot we still had the phoenix picks that crazy they didn’t ask for those back
Welcome to Detroit Devin Booker
I forgot about the double brooks deal getting voided
Kenny im gonna need a vid on the holiday trade
As a blazers fan I love not being important enough to Kenny to comment
We gotta realize that KD for one, had leverage because of the possibility of retiring. If he doesn’t want to go to Minnesota, he can just retire at 37 or maybe even 38 playing for one year. The risk is too high. Houston, Miami, and San Antonio/Dallas can guarantee 2+ years because KD wants to be there. So, the first round pick is pretty much for that year and the combination of second round picks are conditional sacrifices for however many years KD wants to play which could be up to 5. Suns also get a player that Houston doesn’t need but still has that little chance of potential stardom and they get at worse, a top 30 defender in brooks on a pretty solid contract. I’d highly recommend the suns getting rid of Booker to fully lean into rebuild mode. Booker can bring in 5-7 first rounders and other assets because he got another 7+ years in the league and he’s a legit number two on a title contender. (Pistons/Wolves/Mavs)
If you think replacing Jalen Green with KD doesn’t make them a contender grow up stop hating this is huge win for Houston KD is still a baaad man he just averaged 27 points on a awful Suns team and now he’s about be on the 2nd best seed in the West it’s gonna be scary for whoever faces that team in the playoffs we could very much see them in a conference finals minimum next year the only real loss in that trade is DBrooks and the age of KD that’s IT if Houston can add a shooter shooter then it’s gonna be real quiet from them KD haters
I think Pheonix could have at least got 1 of their picks back but they’re have to see it through now maybe trade Jalen somewhere else get some good value out of him whether it’s cheaper contracts more fitting players that’d be a good trade all in all
If I’m the Rockets, I’m calling them right back and offering FVV’s expiring (team option), Reed Sheppard, the other 2 Suns’ 1st round picks they still have and maybe one more 1st for Booker.
I think that’s win/win for both teams.
Suns get to properly rebuild. They can ship out Brooks, FVV & Grayson Allen for some more suture draft capital, and build around Sheppard, Dunn, Green and some draft picks
Rockets move Amen back to PG, where he played in college and have:
Amen
Booker
KD
Jabari
Sengun
Landale, Holiday, Eason & Whitmore off the bench
And the Rockets would still be under the 1st apron, so they could add a couple of role players, all of a sudden they’re a FORCE in the West.
As a die hard Suns fan….. I want Booker to go somewhere else. The Suns are not worthy 😂 I would rather watch him go somewhere and contend.
If kd makes huston worse hes js nba aaron rodgers 💀
Rockets now don’t just have the most potential but also the best Vet locker room you can have. KD, Adams, Green are all A+ vets to teach the young guys
Not good season ahead 😢for Rockets
For whatever the upgrade KD is for Houston the Warriors are still the better version with Jimmy and obviously Steph for Fred, and Draymond for Sengun. KD at 37 is not making enough difference for me and I'm off the rockets boat
